Is Lock Titles / Rows / Columns really missing?

Please tell me it is not so. Is Lock Titles / Rows / Columns really missing from numbers? I'm not trying to make giant sheets, but even a page full doesn't fit on the screen on my MacBook so I need to see the headers. Even my good ole AppleWork did this well.

As a new Numbers user, and an old user of conventional spreadsheets from day-one, I felt as you do and submitted feedback to Apple about spreadsheet screen-splitting. That was over a year ago before I began building spreadsheets the Numbers way. Now I wouldn't bother submitting feedback on that item. Each new spreadsheet of mine has more tables per sheet and the average table size is a fraction of what I used to make. The way I build spreadsheets now, locking the first row is something that rarely enters my mind, and if I'm working in Print View with Header Rows and Columns, my titles are always on the screen anyway.
But what if I have really long tables and don't like to see them broken up with page margins? Well, that brings up a Numbers issue far more worthy of feedback. When tables become that large, Numbers becomes so lethargic that you will look for another application to solve your problem.
That's my perspective, for whatever comfort it may bring you.

Really missing the 7-row

When I bought the W530, I was concerned the the chicklet, island style keyboard was gonna be a problem. It turns out that its not so bad at all. Its not as responsive as my previous T61 keyboard, but still much better than most chicklet's that I've tried.
The real problem is the new 6-row keyboard. I do a bit of programming, and I'm finding that I'm really missing the 7-row. I was quite good with the HOME/END/INS/DELETE/PGUP/PGDN keys in the upper corner. Now, they've got them all on one line, making it hard to use, and they've also separated the PGUP/PGDN and moved it by the arrow keys. I'm not a fan of this at all.
Guess now I'll have to learn VIM

The columns are missed in Backgroup job in report program

Hi experts,
    I have a report program and I display it by WRITE statement. The total length of the report is about 550, and I set the line-size to 600. When I run it by backgroup job, it can not display the row completedly, the last 10 columns are missed. Do any one know what happpen and how I fixed it? Thanks in advance.

I hvae two programs to meet the solution. First is ZSDR0087 and next is ZSDR0087_RAW_PROGRAM. The former program is just for the purpose of calliing latter program, and latter program is for handling the program logic. The transaction code link to ZSDR0087 They are using a same selection screen.

Duplicating MovieClips into Rows & Columns

Hi People,
I am creating a project, which is a dynamic image gallery,
wherein the images are loaded from an XML file. I am looking to
create the thumbnails as rows & columns, based on the total
number of images.
I am able to duplicate the movieclips in rows & columns,
if I define the number of rows & columns, but don't know how to
do this at runtime, depending on the total number of images.
Let's say I have 12 images, so the resulting grid should be
like the one shown below:
Can anybody please help, this is really urgent, and I losing
my head over this

This should get you going - just replace the 12 in the for
loop with your
array length. I used attachMovie to attach a thumb clip from
the library but
you can duplicate instead.

Smartview - HypExecuteQuery with suppress rows 'No Data/Missing'

Hello,
I'm executing a MDX query by executing the command 'HypExecuteQuery' and I set the options suppress rows 'No Data/Missing'.
But everytime, the query is working successully but without suppressing missing data.
Does someone know it the suppress missing rows is compatible with the hypExecuteQuery or 'Execute MDX' ?

How to put a title row in the recorded 2D array excel file?

I am getting 2D array from labview. This file is saved to Excel File. However, I am trying to put a title row such as A, B, C, D (A is for 1st column, B is for 2nd column, C is for 3rd column and D is for 4th column) My recorded 2D data should start form the 2nd row. This data has also 4 columns which need to be aligned with the title row. Do you have any idea how I can perform this operation?

You still need to add tabs and an EOL.

Row/column counter for tables

Hello,
I know this is very basic, but so far examples I dug up don't really anything remotely to what I want.
I have 3 databases. Well they are defined as "connections" in SQLDeveloper I hope that's the same I am still not used to Oracle abstractions.
Each has several tables. All I want is loop through each of the 3 DBs and log row count and table count.
Say DB1:
Rows: Columns:
Table1: x y
Table2: x y
I don't really care what's inside them. I found one example that did it but it listed some system tables that aren't part of my db. Changing "owner" didn't really help.
From the value of the variable "Owner" means a database, is that correct?
Oh and I also don't care if the code is "inefficient", tables aren't that big.

not sure what you are planning to achieve, but you can use below query to get owner of table, table name , column name, number of tables by owner and number of column in a table (belonging to owner). This will require access to dba_tab_columns.
select owner,table_name,count(*) over(partition by owner) count_table,column_name,count(*) over(partition by owner,table_name) count_column from dba_tab_columns;

Is it possible to Lock Title Position

I have used Appleworks for many many years. A few years ago I downloaded a trial of iWork after they started offering a spreadsheet program. I was happy with the Numbers software with one huge exception. It did not offer a way to Lock Title Position as Appleworks spreadsheet does. Quite frankly, I don't see how anyone can use the Numbers spreadsheet if the document you're working on encompasses more than one page without having the title locked. Each column was named and I would have to scroll up constantly to see which column I was working on. I wound up calling Apple Support and they confirmed that there was no way to do this. My question is, has this been corrected in the current version of Numbers?

For me it's not a problem. I used my memory and, to help it, I applied different background colours to columns so I was able to know in which column I was. And, most of the time, it's quitr easy to recognize it by the kind of content which is in the surrounding cells.

As John mentioned, make sure that you aren't supressing the data. If there is no data in essbase and you are supressing missing data then there will be no rows. You can unselect "supress missing data" by going to admin>manage data forms. Select the data form in question and click edit, then navigate to the row/column tab and under row properties, ensure that the "supress missing data" check box is unselected.
You will want this unselected if users are going to input data in this form.

Auto-adjust references when adding rows/columns

If I recall correctly, it was the behavior of Appleworks that if you added, say, column B, making the old column B into column C, all references to B throughout were automatically changed to C. This does not happen in Numbers. Is there any way to make this the default behavior or a different command to add rows/columns that causes references to automatically be adjusted accordingly?

OK, this is going to make me sound really stupid, but I actually was so confused and tired that I meant the exact opposite of what I said. I was making a ledger-type spreadsheet keeping a running balance, and I wanted cells in the balance column to continue referring to the cell directly above them rather than to one absolute cell that used to be directly above them. That's how it works in Appleworks. I think.

How can we implement optimistic locking , i am using Oracle as Database for my Application .
Assume that i am working on a single row of a Table .
Now please tell me how can i explicitly lock this row , so that other simultanoues users insert or update operations are not affected to this particular row .
I am not using any ORM related technology
Please help .

In optimistic locking everyone is allowed to read and to update without taking out a lock. Usually the optimistic lock is realised by including either a 'version' or 'last_modified' column which with every update is either increased (version) or set to the current_timestamp (last_modified). The update statement must be issued with a condition including that column (eg UPDATE ... WHERE id=<id> AND version=<version at time of read>). If the column was already changed by another user or process zero rows will have been updated signalling to the program that another user already changed the row and the user must redo his changes, or a more complex method of change comparison can be done.

ALV Display - Subscript/Caption in a field title row

I would just like to ask if there's a way for me to create a sort of subscript or caption font within a field title row?
It should look like this:
<b>TOTAL NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES W/O REQUIRED SKILLS
*Some profiles are missing for positions*</b>
The "<b>*Some profiles are missing for positions*</b>" should be in subscript or a caption and should be contained in only 1 row.
Is there a way to do this? I appreciate any help! Thanks.
