Is maverick for imac 2007?

I just install maverick for my imac 2007, then I can't work with Safari and Mail, and the system now is very slow,I unplug all the external drivers ,but still slow

Mavericks requires 4GB memory.  It would help to increase the memory to 4GB or 6 GB (otherworldcomputing.com), a 2 and 4 GB module. Look at crucial.com and otherworldcomputing.com for RAM prices and combinations that will work with your Mac.
Try booting into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down), select Disk Utility and repair disk permissions and the disk. Reboot and see if there's any improvement.
Do you have any anti virus software installed?  Have you used MacKeeper or CleanMyMac since upgading? Those are apps to avoid like the plague.

  • 4 TB HDD for iMac (2007)

Will my iMac 20", 2,66 Core 2 Duo (2007) work with 2TB or 4TB internal hard drive instead of its native 320 GB?

If speed is critical then you should upgrade to a new computer. Yes an ESATA HDD is faster than FW800 however why go to the time, money and frustratation of upgrading a 5+  year old machine when newer machines would dramatically improve performance. I use Aperture for managing my photos and use FW800 external drives for storing large libraries such as my photo's, music and movies. The performance is fine, not as fast as SATA but very good and I also have a late 2007 iMac. However if the performance really bugged me then I'd buy a new machine, which I plan on but not right now. I also have a 320GB internal HD but it still has 200GB free

  • Which is better graphic for iMac 2007 or MacBook Air 2012

iMac use ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB and MacBook Air use intel graphic 5000m so which is better?

Without knowing how you intend to use the computer it's impossible to say, also you are comparing apples and oranges.

  • Imac27 2009 as extra screen for imac 2007 2011

    Hello,
I have an Imac 27inch of 2009. To enlarge my workspace I added another Imac 27 inch but model 2011.
I want to use the oldest computer as extra screen.
After been advised by apple salesman, I use a thunderbolt cable to fix the job.
With the command F2 or automatic detection in the configuration, neither of them works. Both computers can't be connected.
Does someone knows how to clear the job?
    Thanks

They are video output devices, not input devices.

If you own any verson of iPhoto '11 then there is a free update to version 9.5.x in the App store
If you own a previous version of iPhto (iPhoto '09 or earlier) then as always an upgrade to a new version (in this case iPhoto '11) is a paid upgrade and you purchase it in the App store
and no OS update/upgrade contains a version of iPhto - it is a seperate program and although it is included as part of every new Mac it is not a free program and never has been sinve version 1 or 2 (I forget when it changes)

    Hi champrider,
You can use an application such as Apple Remote Desktop to control your iMac remotely. See this article -

  • Mouse is crazy after installing Mavericks on a 2007 iMac

After upgrading to OSX Mavericks on a 2007 iMac, the mouse went out of control. I´ve been using a logitech wireless mouse that got stuck. I´ve changed to original iMac mouse but can´t control the device, that keep clicking by itself, toggling between screens. I´ve already made a recovery installation of OS with no results. System preference options also are helpless. I don´t know what to do to regain control over the mouse and the computer. Any suggestions?

There are several possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not be applicable.
    1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
    2. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor in response to user input, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
    3. Boot in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you reboot as usual, stop here and post your results. If you can't boot in safe mode, do the same. If you booted in safe mode and there was no change, go on to the next step.
    4. Reset the System Management Controller.
    5. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
    6. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
    7. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and the unit needs to be serviced or replaced.
    8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to  behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
    9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
    10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
    11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

That's not quite the proper way as far as I can tell. Usually, one boots directly into the Recovery HD using COMMAND and R keys at startup. If you cannot do that then most likely there is a problem with the hard drive. Since this is a new computer i would make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.

  • Is Mavericks.app for iMac same as that for Macbook Air?

I downloaded Mavericks.app for my iMac and then used the same installer (mavericks.app) to upgrade my Macbook Air 2013. The upgrade was smooth; but the battery life isn't very great.
Can someone confirm that there's Mavericks upgrade for iMac is the same as that for Macbook Air?

Thanks! Haven't had any problems with the software; except that I'm not happy with the battery life my MBA 2013, 13" offers after the upgrade. Looks like time to reset PRAM and SMC.

  • Imac 2007 and maverick will be compatible

With all the description of maverik, I have the impreion that my imac 2007 dual core will roon better, or this will only apply to i5 up cpu. Will I have full compatibiliy will the apps? thank!

OS X Mavericks has got the same requirements as Mountain Lion. Just open System Information or System Profiler app (in /Applications/Utilities) and check your model identifier. If it's iMac7,1 or a higher number, your computer is compatible.
We don't know anything more about OS X Mavericks, so you will have to wait until the final version is released to know if your computer will work properly. Note that this version includes a huge number of performance improvements and a better memory management, apart from OpenGL 4 compatibility and more. See > http://www.apple.com/osx/preview

  • Imac 2007 maverick no airplay?

i have an iMac 2007 version and just installed Maverick.
Is it possible to use airplay to TV of the screen? if so how?
    thx
    Wim

AirPlay Mirroring needs a Mid 2011 or later iMac. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404
To mirror your iMac's display to your Apple TV, you have to use an application like AirParrot or Beamer. They will work even if AirPlay Mirroring isn't compatible
