  • SAP Business Suite - covered modules

    Dear SCN Members,
I want to know which are the modules covered in SAP BUSINESS SUITE
    Await quick response
    Thanks,
    Thulasidass

    Thulasidass,
In general the Suite is a set of SAP applications, like ERP aka ECC, SRM, CRM etc.. Each applications has different modules and submodules, e.g. FI for Financials and FI-AR for accounts receivables.
Each application has enhancement packs EHP's, which have new functionality for the individual modules, or new modules.
Then there are add-ons, like SCM, which can run stand-alone or as an add-on to ERP, means using the same DDIC - Data Dictionary.
sFIN is also available as an add-on for ERP, but only for ERP on HANA.
In general, as sometimes you will find mix-ups even in SAP documents, or exceptions.
The easiest way is to go to SAP help SAP Business Suite – SAP Help Portal Page,  if your interested in more details for Suite on HANA, you might find this webpage useful: Business Suite and S/4HANA Roadmap and Release Information

  • Reg: Diff between SAP business suite and Business One

    Hi Guru,
We are planning to implement SAP in our industry.
Now we are planning to implement SAP Business one. After three years we will bring in complete SAP implementation.
1.Can you please tell the difference between complete SAP Implementation and SAP B1.
2.Could you please explain, if we implement SAP B1 right now. will there be any problem if we go for complete implementation.
3.If the business grows above one billion, will B1 hold good?
    4.What is the business suite?
    Thanks & Regards,
    S.Nehru

    Nehru,
thank you for considering SAP solutions.
W regards to question 1 and 4, in short:
SAP Business Suite on traditional relational databases or on HANA is the most extensive SAP set of SAP Business application and includes the SAP applications ERP, CRM, SCM (Supply Chain) SRM (Supplier Relationship) and PLM (Product Lifecycle)
A1 is based on SAP Business Suite and tailored by SAP partners.
B1 is a separate product, so is Business by Design.
All solutions are integrated and used by the largest global enterprises and their subsidiaries as well as by SME small and midsize enterprises, depending on their requirements.
Please see Solution overview of SME solution for more details on A1, B1 and Business by Design.
In addition to the Business Applications, SAP also offers Business Networks Solutions like ARIBA and Concur.
The majority of SAP customers are SME customers: At the end of the third quarter of 2014, SAP has more than 263,000 customers, of which more than 80 percent, or 212,500, are SME's.
Without knowing more details, it would be not professional from my site to provide an answer to your question 2 and 3. Please work with your local SAP partner or SAP Account Executive to validate your approach.
    Thank you

  • SAP Business Suite 7.0

    Hello People,
Has anyone configured or used SAP Buiness Suite 7.0?
    Cheers
    Pranz

    Hi Oliver
first of all a correction (sorry...): "SAP enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 contributes to Business Suite" (no "2008", or "7.0").
The impression, which you have is correct. The SAP ERP is part of the Business Suite.
The page I gave you shows you all changes planned for SAP ERP 6.0

  • SAP Solution Manager for SAP Business Suite On HANA

    Dear Experts,
I have a small question regarding the available installation options for SAP Solution Manager for SOH.
Is there other available database platforms for the installation of SAP Solution Manager than the SAP HANA Database ?
Meaning that if we have a customer who has the license for SAP HANA Database, does he have other database options for installing the Solution Manager that are covered by the HANA license ?
    Kind Regards,
    Mohamed Awny

Well if you can find the solution manager software for a DB other than HANA in service market then you can install.
You can check this by checking the service market SAP Technology Components" ==> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER" ==> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1
HANA is so fast why choose another DB?

    Hello,
    I tested 2 changes :
    - put entries for wdf.sap.corp in my local hosts file
    - put entries for dummy.nodomain + adjust /etc/resolv.conf
System start is OK, but access to dbacockpit is still behaving weird.
The html version fails at the start -
Impossible to connect to the URL http://vhcalabaci.dummy.nodomain:0/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/dba_cockpit?<etx>. The server responded with: Can't assign requested address.
i can go into the sapgui interface for DB02 but most of the interesting menu options are greyed out - so I can't retrieve the info.
In some of the screens in DB02 I find reference to a server wdflbmd16124 - a DB test connection to this server fails (of course). Tried to enter this name asa alias in the hosts file but that did not solve this issue. On the other hand, abaadm seems to have the correct environment info for the local ASE (since the database starts). Looks some config settings between user env and gui are not in sync.
But I miss ASE skills to figure out where I need to correct this.
Mixed feelings about this installation - it looks like the application part will work - but having this confusing setup might still give surprises at later stages.
So I hope your team works on a clean version of this image and will deploy is soon.
    Regards
    Frank

  • Client(mandt) Handling in SAP Business Suite (ERP) on HANA

    Hi Experts,
What are the possible ways to do client handling in native application developments for ERP on HANA?
Is there a best practice for automatic client handling?
    Regards
    Manas

    Hi Manas
for information models you simply set the client property of the models.
For SQL processes you can leverage the session_context ('CLIENT') parameter as a filter.
The modelling/development guide actually covers that.

  • What are the minimum SAP processes for public sector ?.

    Dear  Expert
I would understand that SAP Public Sector - Business Process has the following key:
    Shared Services
    Human Capital Management
    Government Purchases
Formulation of Public Sector Accounting and Budget
    Social Services
    Social Security
    Government Programs

    - Solutions - SAP Business Suite
    - Software SAP Customer Relationship Management
    - Software ERP SAP
    - SAP Product Lifecycle Management
    - SAP Supply Chain Management

If we select SAP ERP Software. From the above processes. ¿Is it correct to have at least the formulation of Public Sector Accounting and implemented budget? or ¿Is it OK to implement all processes for the public sector? I'm  very confusing ...
Please,  could you explain SAP Procurement public sector solutions? or do you have a link on this advice?
    All recommendations are welcome.

  • SAP Business By Design Software- A Review

SAP Business By Design Software- A Review
An Independent Enterprise Resource Planning Software Review :
SAP is one of the most recognized and trusted brands within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software industry. Having delivered SAP R/2 in 1979 and SAP R/3 in 1992, the company is one of the original vendors that defined the ERP software market. SAP was started by five IBM engineers in 1972 in exchange for 8% founders' stock. Today the German-based company retains the largest ERP market share of any software vendor; with the possible exception of Oracle depending upon how market share is calculated.
SAP Business ByDesign is the company's software as a service (SaaS) offering targeted to small- and medium-size enterprises (SMEs). On September 19, 2007, a one-size-fits-all, subscription-based ERP system aimed at midmarket companies was released as the first SAP ERP SaaS product, previously code named A1S. After several troubled installations and a flawed go to market strategy, SAP pulled ByDesign from the market for a system revamp and significant code refactoring.
Approximately three years later, Business ByDesign reemerged as a multi-tenant SaaS solution, complete with a new architecture, Silverlight presentation layer and PaaS tools for extensibility. As of December 2011, Business By Design was closing in on its first 1000 customer acquisitions and is available in Australia, Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Though SAP ByDesign is targeted toward SMEs with 25+ users, the solution can be used by organizations with as few as 10 users. The ideal range is 25-500 users, but the cloud scalability should facilitate more users if required. Business By Design is also finding a place as a Tier 2 ERP solution—being installed at smaller line of business or geographically dispersed locations and integrated to parent companies using the SAP Business Suite.
While Business ByDesign is the company's first back-office foray into the cloud, SAP has since also released cloud-based Line of Business applications. Sales OnDemand—an SFA application with strong social design—was released in July 2011 and is targeted at SAP ERP or Business Suite customers looking to extend their on-premise systems with add-on cloud components. Interestingly, the Line of Business applications were developed on the Business ByDesign framework, but don't integrate with Business ByDesign. Sales OnDemand only integrates with SAP ERP for back office business processes, so SAP customers seeking a complete software as a service CRM solution are limited to Business ByDesign.
By Design is offered in four enterprise software categories: customer relationship management (CRM), financials, professional services automation (PSA), and supply chain management (SCM). These solutions each include a combination of different modules, and they can be acquired as stand-alone capabilities as well. The entire ERP software suite includes the following:
    Customer relationship management (CRM)
    Accounting and financials
    Project management
    Supply chain management (SCM)
    Supplier relationship management
    Human resources (HR)/payroll
    Analytics
    Compliance management

    SAP Business ByDesign Independent Review

SAP Business One GUIs (“screens” or “forms”) are the primary interface elements. They usually cover a rectangular area on the computer screen and represent certain tasks or applications running on the computer. The user may move them around the computer screen, size, stack, activate, or de-activate them.
When we discuss screens in the context of the SAP Business One System, we usually refer to their work area. You, as the developer, position interface elements within the work area to adapt a screen to a certain task. In addition to the work area, a screen consists of elements. Some elements serve for basic window handling, and some of them are specific for SAP Business One.
There are two basic kinds of screens in the SAP Business One System: primary screens (main menu/forms), and secondary screens (dialog boxes / message windows).
SAP Business One application functions always reside in one main or primary screen where the user's main activity takes place. In addition, secondary screens appear in reaction to the user's actions to supplement the main screen. On both types of screens, the user may enter data, make choices or is informed of errors / consequences of actions. There may be more than one secondary screen opened simultaneously, but only one can be worked with at a time

  • Query on SAP Business Object and Content shipment..

I know about SAP Business Suite... & SAP Business One... But what is :
    1. SAP Business Object and
    2. Content Shipment
The definitions on the SAP Release & Maintenance Strategy and other docs on SDN were not too clear for my understanding. I want to know why are they used / where are they applied ? E.g: if you have a SAP BW system.. why would you need SAP BW Content ? where does it fit in the picture and what purpose does it serve...
(PS: it would be great if someone can share the product / functionality details of their landscape where these systems are used, how does it benefit the business operations and any other purpose of having them... )
    Thanks,

    Hi Ashim,
If your client want it to be done in one database, then the answer is no if you do not have any add-on or SDK codes.  Most difficult part is authorization since I believe what you mean project here is not the same as project center in B1,
If your client allow more than one database, then the configuration will be easy.
    Thanks,
    Gordon
