But how about a static inner class?

Yes, static inner classes do have free access to ALL members but of course they have to have to do so using an instance of the outer class. I think the answer A> means the class below is correct:
class OuterClass {
     int member=10;
     static class InnerClass{
          int getOuterClassMember(){
               return member;
But it even could not be compiled until I change the modifier of "member" to static.
