IsDesktop is true on VMs, why is that?

I am the IsDesktop IsLaptop IsServer IsVM variables in MDT 2010 and just started to focus on some logic for VMs and noticed all my deployments to VMs are getting options intended for desktops. IE a task that added a certain group to the admin group is being applied to VMs but its only suport to be applied to Desktops.
I have Customsettings properites set for IsDesktop and IsVM. With the intention that certain resolutions, OU, tasks to desktops and the like for VMs.

Everything else seems to be fine just the flagging of VMs as Desktops which really caught me off guard
When i look the BDD.log i see this

So why would a VM be flagged as IsDesktop?

Correct, it looks like Hyper-V does *not* pass thru chassis information to the Client VM's, then again, I don't see why it should.
THe following should work for most usages:
