Issue while transporting objects

Hello Guyz
I am having problems while transporting transformations, DTPs and other objects in BI. We are using BI 7.0 by the way.
The problem is, when I re-transport a few of these objects, I get 2 sets of transformations and DTPs instead of the new one overwriting the already existing one in Quality. Do we need to set 'Overwrite Property' on the transport or somewhere else before re-transporting objects from dev to (qa or prod).
I have the same question regarding Process Chains: is there some type of 'Overwrite' property that we need to set before we re-transport a Process chain into Quality for a second time? Do we end up creating 2 PCs if we dont have this property ON??

HI,
You need to select all the options when importing the TR in qualtiy system.excpet the one which says leave the TR in the queue for later import.
when importing requesting in STMS_IMPORT it will give you a pop up on how you want to import it.
There are option for overwrite mode.
Select all the option which says overwrite and then do the import.

Dear all,
We are facing the following error while transporting the individual configuration objects from our PI development system.
Export failed: Internal error during pvc call: Parameter versionSpecifier or version has the invalid value null .
However, it works fine when the complete configuration scenario is transported.
We tried to transport the objects with different user id's, even then the issue still exists.
Any inputs to resolve this will be highly helpful.

Answer is inside this oss [Note 1554387 - Error during export from Integration Directory|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1554387]. In this oss note, solution is to apply a patch (just a patch, not a SP). as it's a litle sap bug...

Error while Transport objects from DEv to QA-File transport

Hai Experts!
While exporting objects from Dev to Quality using File Transport. it taking long time and no erro msg is thown and it is not getting end .Did any face this problem. Can any one help me to solve this.

I try to export the Individual object -->Message mapping.
While exporting i unchecked the Option With software component version Defenition.
Now it is success. Thanks all replies.

Doubts while transporting objects into QA

Hi,
I has completed the Development and need to transport it to Quality.
Here i has written 4 UDFs based on the conditions on Mapping.
Could you please let me know while transporting the objects from DEV to QA ...shall i need to take extra care on UDFs.
Pls let me know the process if i really need to transport UDF's also into QA system.

Hi,
In addition to the functional implementation like mapping hard-coded values specfic to landscape, you must take an extra care on the following scenarios
1. If you are implementing any RFC look up - connection parameters may change
2. If you use value mapping - value group names may change
3. Enhanced receiver determination - receiver business system names may change
No extra care is needed if its a simple code that maps fields without expecting any runtime variations.

Source System mapping while transporting objects from Q to P

Hi All,
I have moved all my transports from BW DEV to Q twice with different source system mappings, say R3D to R3Q and again R3D to R3X, as I have to do testing from both the source systems.
Now, I have to move all those transports to PROD and I found out that they will be moved from Q to P and not from DEV to P. In such case, what source system mapping should I maintain in P? Is that R3Q to R3P or R3R to R3P?
Hope I am clear with my question. Please let me know if it is not clear.

Itseems I am not clear with my question. Let me put it in another way.
My BWQ is connected to two R/3 source systems, say R3Q and R3X where as my BWP is only connected to R3P. While transporting the requests from BWQ to BWP, I know that I have to maintain the source system mappings(Tools->Mapping of the source system names). Now I am in doubt about what mapping do I need to maintain(either R3Q->R3P or R3X->R3P)? Which source systems transfer rules etc.(all source system dependant objetcs) will be transported, either R3Q or R3X?

Issues while transporting requests to an upgraded system

Hi all,
There is a development system which is upgraded.
prior to upgradation of this development system , we copied all the abap developments to a temporary system, where developments were done until development system is upgraded.
As of now , we are manually copying the changes done in temporary system to the upgraded development system,
     i.e for ex; Manually copying the code of a program in temporary system to upgraded development system
Instead of manual copying of the developements/changes from Temporary system to development system, can we move the requests directly from
temporary system to development system.
Please let me know ,what are the issues raised while moving requests ( of programs,tables,scripts,smartforms..... e.t.c ) from temporary system to development system

There's a new 'check' that can be done when transporting CRs throughout your landscape. It is the unconditional mode "Ignore Invalid Component Version".
This feature (check the component version) was included with SAP_BASIS 702, so the tp checks the component version of the system where the transport was released (this information is included in the transport) and the component version of the system where the transport is going to be imported.
This component version check feature will check all the components version between source and target system. So before choosing the 'Ignore' option, please try to make sure that the software component version that the objects contained in the request belongs to, should be the same between the systems, to avoid any inconsistencies. It is recommended to transport request in systems which are on the same support level or use the same add-ons.
The component check is a hint that you will import a transport which come from a system which is different from the target system. It only checks the installed add-ons and support packages. This means if you have in the source system installed a add-on which is not present in the target system of the transport you should aware that you import no objects which depends on the add-on which is not present in the target system, the same point belongs also to different support package
releases. This option was implemented to reduce the risk of inconsistencies. If you import the transport please use transport option "ignore invalid component version".
This import option means that transport requests can be imported even if their component version does not match the current component version (including Support Package Level) of the system. This is the case if the component version of the system is either new (the Support Package Level
is higher than that of the export system) or too old (you first have to have imported the Support Packages before you can import the request). You should only use this option if you are sure that the content of the transport request is independent from the component version.
If it is required to avoid this check you could set transport parameter SP_TRANS_SYNC with value OFF and this check will be not performed from tp, but I would recommend to use import option "ignore invalid component version" before you would import the transport.
transport parameter SP_TRANS_SYNC = OFF.
Parameter SP_TRANS_SYNC is delivered ON by default.
This option will avoid the check of the component version.

Error while transporting objects using FIle system

Hi All,
I am getting the following error when I try to transport Repository or Directory objects from Development to quality.
Internal error during pvc call: No space left on device.....
But when I checked there is ample of space on the disk. Can anyone help me in resolving this issue.
Also I am trying to set up CMS for PI7.0. Can someone please mail some good document or suitable links which can guide me for setting up the same.

Certain operations fail in DTR or in XI with a NullPointerException.

Getting Error While Transporting object

Hi,
The following options can be tried:
1)Try to transport the cube once again with option "before data Target" and manually collectinng all the objects.
2)Transport the Update Rules once again
3)Activate directly once again in Test system.

Issues while transporting PC

I created a PC in Development and when I try to activate the PC it asks me for a transport request to create. Here I created a transport request and in se01 I released the TR, but the PC trnasported has errors in Quality where every thin gis OK in WSN .Could you please let me know how to transport the PC from Dev to QA.

Go to transport connection option in RSA1. Go to Process chain variant and collect all the necessary objects and include it in the transport request. Then release it and transport it.

Issue while creating Object Links

Hi Gurus,
We are trying to upload documents by creating link to sales order through BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2..
When we try to upload documents by creating the object link to sales order we are getting the error message as
"The link to SAP object is not allowed for document type".
Manually we can able to create document and link to sales order..
Pls let me know when we run BAPI is there any seperate configuration required for the document type and object links

I am using a FM 'HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION' to update a value into a table pa0584 table.
If i try to upload all the values i am getting a return value like " No of Entries exceeds more than 20".
So please help me out.

Hi,
You can merge your different requests into a single request. goto se09 select any one of your request and in menu,
Utilities -> Reorganize -> Merge Requests. or press CTRL + F12.

I am using XFire (http://xfire.codehaus.org/) for exposing my web services. I ran across an issue while transporting an object that contains an XML document embedded in it.
As an example, here is the domain model:
public class Book {
     Integer id;
     String name;
     XMLStreamReader document;
    //Setters and getters follow...
public class BookService {
     Book getBook( Integer id) {
        //Construct a Book instance and return it...
}When I call BookService, I get an exception saying "could not write xml". I guess this has got to do with the fact that I am using XMLStreamReader, the same implementation that XFire uses to convert objects.
I tired information provided on this link: http://xfire.codehaus.org/Message+Binding but now I get something like "There must be a method name element."
Any ideas how I get this running? Any help would be appreciated.

Error while transporting Datasources in Production

Dear All,
I have facing a problem while transporting objects pertaining to BI Cockpit in Production.
Earlier I had transported all the obects (in more than one transports) in Quality (from Development). After testing the objects, I had imported the same number of transports (and in the same order) to Production and now some of the requests have ended in errors like:
DataSource 0TCTWHMTFM_TEXT does not exist in source system PW1CLNT003 of version A
Such errors have occured for most of the Datasources.
Can anyone let me know
1) Why the transports have failed while importing in Production when similar requests have been transported successfully to Quality.
2) The possible solution to correct the error.
Request your kind help to overcome this problem.

There are no R/3 Datasources involved. Our BI Cockpit landscape is based upon only BI system. No data transfer to take place between R/3 and BI.
Secondly, you mean to say that I need to replicate my Source system in Production and then proceed with the transporting of the requests from Dev to Prod.
But I never did the same in Quality while transporting from Dev. Is it that it might have been done in Quality beforehand by someone ?
Also, when the Datasources have not been transported to Production (resulting in error) then how can i replicate these datasources in Production ???
Let me know if I have not understood correctly.

OBJECT SKIPPED while transporting the objects from DEV to QA.

Hi All,
While transporting the objects to Quality, I'm getting a warning saying Objects are skipped.
Can anyone please explain how to get rid of this error? We are facing this issue almost for all the transports which we are moving and the objects do not get transported to the next environment. We have to ask BASIS to use overwrite functionality while transporting to fix this each and every time we face an error.
If any SAP notes are available then please share it to me.

Objects of the selected object types exist in your system as changeable even if this system is globally set to not changeable. As a result, these objects are no longer connected to the transport system.
