Issues gnerating MD5 ecnoded password in OWSM

Hi,
I am trying to generate a MD5 encoded password while implementing File based authentication in OWSM.
However I am not able to generate the MD50 encoded password using the below command
D:\oracle\product\orasoa\owsm\bin>wsmadmin md5encode soauser user1 .htpasswd
On executing this I am getting the below error.
Buildfile: D:\oracle\product\orasoa\owsm\bin\..\scripts\wsm.xml
BUILD FAILED
Target `.htpasswd' does not exist in this project.
Total time: 0 seconds
Error 1
Wanted to know which location do I need to place my .htpasswd file.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sai

  • Migrate users from qmail to sun messaging  (import MD5 hashed passwords)

    Hi,
    we are planning to migrate about 2000 users from our current mail system (qmail + openldap) to Sun Messaging 6.2.
    We have encountered a problem with user password migration. In our current ldap user passwords are MD5 encrypted, but it appears as Directory 5.2 does not support MD5 encryption method.
    This is what I have found :
    http://docs.sun.com/source/817-7616/config.html#wp26092
    The following encryption types are supported by Directory Server:
    * SSHA (Salted Secure Hash Algorithm) is the recommended method as it is the most secure.
    * SHA (Secure Hash Algorithm). This is the method supported by 4.x Directory Servers.
    * CRYPT is the UNIX crypt algorithm. It is provided for compatibility with UNIX passwords.
    * If this attribute is set to CLEAR, passwords are not encrypted and appear in plain text.
    We want to import MD5 hashed passwords so users can use their old password after we migrate to SUN, but as passwords are updated they will be SSHA hashed.
    We only have a problem with importing MD5 hashed passwords in ldap directory.
    Current password on openLDAP are created with the following PHP code:
    $info["userPassword"]= '{md5}' . base64_encode(pack('H*', md5($passwd)));
    I have tried to copy userpassword value from openldap to directory but the directory ignores {md5} and hashed the string again using SSHA.
    Example:
    cleartextpass: password
    md5_base64_hash={MD5}X03MO1qnZdYdgyfeuILPmQ==
    after ldap modify userpassword field loks like this:
    userpassword:{SSHA}a+dFsejrTGwQAgdU07kkgzWWOC16SiIW2UsPcQ==
    What is the correct procedure to import MD5 hashed passwords in Sun Directory?
    (NS-MTA-MD5 Password Storage Plug-In is enabled)

    Sun Directory 5.2 has a plugin NT-MTA-MD5 which should enable users to authenticate with MD5 hashed passwords.
    I have checked in cn=config and NS-MTA-MD5 plugin is enabled.
    I have tried with {NS-MTA-MD5} prefix and still directory does not allow users to authenticate.
    Example:
    cleartextpass: foo
    md5_base64_hash={NS-MTA-MD5}rL0Y20zC+Fzt72VPzMSk2A==
    after ldap modify userpassword field loks like this( NS-MTA-MD5 is accepted by directory):
    userpassword:{NS-MTA-MD5}rL0Y20zC+Fzt72VPzMSk2A==
    but
    ldap bind fails with "invalid credentials" error
    We are using solaris 10 so I tried using the prefix {crypt} and it did not work. You said something about the right config in /etc/security/crypt.conf. Here is the content of my crypt.conf file:
    1 crypt_bsdmd5.so.1
    2a crypt_bsdbf.so.1
    md5 crypt_sunmd5.so.1
    This should be the right config "md5 crypt_sunmd5.so.1"
    Am I missing something here?
    Is there anything else I need to do to enable directory to use MD5 hashed passwords?
    Maybe NS-MTA-MD5 plugin is not enough?

  • Auto login issues to iTunes Store password incorrect

    Running Windows 7 with iTunes 11.  When I open iTunes and it attempts to auto login I get an error message that my password is incorrect (see image below). I can type in the correct password and everything works fine until I close iTunes and reopen it, then I get the same error.  Steps I have tried to resolve issue: 1) Logged out of iTunes, 2) deauthorized this computer and reauthorized it, 3) Reset warnings and cache.  All to no avail.

    When you change your USER ID (which is generally your E-MAIL), Itunes for some reason gets confused... Any apps, music etc. purchased off the itunes store before you made the change still bring up the original USER ID to update, authorize etc. So if you try and enter the password without changing to the new user ID, even if the account is technically the same, you're going to get "incorrect password" or "can not connect to itunes" or possibly "account doesn't exist". I found this out the hard way when I upgraded from XP to Windoze 7.

  • SECURITY ISSUE! Userid and password for email stored as raw text in dump file!

    If you have set up email notifications, the dump for the ix2, possibly others as well, lists your email address, username, and password in readable text in the \procs\ps.out file.  This is a blatent security violation and needs to be fixed immediately!

    Interesting...I have not been able to duplicate the issue.  I have reconfigured email notifications multiple times and collected a dump and do not see the info in the ps.out log.  However, it was in the very first dump I collected off of the ix2.  Here is a screenshot of what was in there...I have of course blacked out secure info.
    Its possible that the smtpsend process was hung and thats why it showed up in this log.  I also tried to duplicate this by unchecking/checking the send email notification box and clicking apply multiple times while a dump was being generated.  I no longer see what I saw before...I suppose it was a fluke, but this really should be looked into.

  • Keychain Issue with Entourage SMTP password or port attribute

    I am posting this under Using OS X rather than Mail since I do not
    use Apple's Mail. The problem is the Microsoft Entourage or something
    may be sending bad information to the OS X keychain and this prevents me
    from sending mail to my ATT/Yahoo account. The workaround I have
    been using to send mail is use the OS X Keychain First Aid repair.
    After the repair Entourage will send the message one or two times then
    I get the following Keychain verification error note:
    Item “pop.att.yahoo.com” has unspecified value for port attribute
    Item “smtp.att.yahoo.com” has unspecified value for port attribute
    Problems were found; you should choose the Repair option to fix them
    Verification failed.
    The Repair option corrects the problem until the next message is
    sent. I have done everything I can think of to the Entourage v12.1.7
    settings and something is still not right.
    I am beginning to suspect a Keychain bug or error but have no idea
    how to get the correct attribute written to the keychain.
    Maybe someone could provide some terminal commands to the will
    help me write the correct password and port attribute to the keychain.
    I am open to any suggestions to clear being nagged every time I
    need to send a message to enter my password. The POP mail works
    fine. This seems to be an issue with the password that is required
    by the ATT/Yahoo smtp server.

    If you are sure your primary account is setup correct (per the above URLs), open
    the Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access.app and go to Keychain Access/Keychain
    First Aid and click on the Verify and Repair if necessary.
    FYI, Entourage will write errors to the keychain if you have the account setup wrong.
    My error (that cause the keychain errors) was I typed in the my ID and password in
    the smtp option. Check the box to use the received and do NOT type in the address.
    When you save the settings with nothing in the boxes, Entourage will do it for you
    and it will work.
    I don't know why but it will not work if you type in the info. Just follow the rules
    and it will work
    Try It!!

  • Mail Password Issue (server rejecting the password)

    Every time i try to get my email i get a message back that says "The MobileMe IMAP server 'mail.me.com' rejected the password for user dswich".  Is there a way to reset (or retrieve) my password so that i can get back into my email?  Because clearly i don't have the right password......

    I have the same issue.  Just replaced a hard drive and restored everything.  Only thing that did not come with it were the mail info.  No big deal, I thought.  But when I tried to put in all the password information, it would not accept it.  It is the only thing left to do.  Email boxes-everything imported back in from my backup hard drive.  Just a little frustrated right now.
    Ok.  Just changed my password according to iCloud requirements.  Still no joy.  I get email on my iPad and my iPhone, but I cannot seem to get the mail sent to my computer with the new hard drive.  So, I am with you.  Is there a way to verify the email settings?

  • Issue logging on after password change

    Hi All,
    I have an issue, only affecting windows 8/8.1 workstations. We require users to change their password every 30 days, when users change their password they can then only logon to the pc that the password was updated on, if they attempt to logon to another
    pc (which already has that user profile) the logon halts at the welcome screen with the small spinning dots and stays on this screen indefinitely (I have left it like this for over 3 hours). The problem can be solved by deleting the users profile on any of
    the affected machines, then logon and profile setup continues as normal until the next time the user changes passwords.
    Domain and forest functional levels are 2008. The problems affect workstations authenticating locally and across a WAN link. The issue does not seem to affect windows 7 workstations
    It's a strange issue I've never come across before and I've had little luck resolving it. any help would be appreciated

    Hi,
    This issue can be caused that your credentials which are cached in the Local Security Authentication Server (Lsass.exe) process are not updated.
    You can try this hotfix to check the issue first:
    Cached credentials are not updated when you change your password in Windows
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2845626/en-us
    If the issue still persists, please help to upload the event logs here for further research:
    Open Event viewer –> Applications and services logs -> Microsoft -> Winlogon -> Right click to Save all events as…
    Windows logs -> System -> Right click to Save all events as…
    Please upload them to a file sharing service like Skydrive or "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

  • Digital signature on LMS - issue with R/3 password

    Hi,
    We have enabled the Digital Signature (FDA check) for Follow-up against WBT course delivery method. Once I click on 'Confirm Participation' link, I get a popup to provide username and password. I believe this popup checks for SAP (R/3) UserID and password. The problem is, Learning portal (HCM_LEARNING) is linked within SAP Enterprise portal and most of our users don't have backend access and no password. They only know thier portal username and password.
    So definitely, when I put my portal login details into the Popup, it will error as the password is different to the ECC System.
    Is there any work around solution for this issue? Has anyone been able to resolve the issue around password?
    Would really appreciate if you could share the solution with us.
    Best,
    Jaya

    Hi
    You need to Trigger an Outbound Message for generating the IDoc.
    Using the process code, the IDoc interface finds the application selection module which converts the SAP document into an IDoc.
    The process code is only used with applications which perform outbound processing via Message Control (NAST).
    goto Transaction NACE ,
    Select the Application ME - Inventory mangament.
    Clcik on Output types , Copy the Out Put type WA03 & create anew Out put type.
    Selec the Output type & Click on Processing routines
    Maintain the medium  6 - EDI , there is no standard print program for EDI So you need to create your own Program & form Routine
    Check this form routine EDI_PROCESSING in program RSNASTED for having an idea.
    After maintaining all the relevant EDI Paramters.
    Maintain the message condition record using MN21 for the new out put type.
    When you create a Goods issue the Message will be triggereed & Idoc will be trigerred , you can then transfer this into XI.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Issue in reset portal password.

    Hi Experts,
       I have implemented "Forgot Password" functionality in our portal (EP7). It was working fine. But now we are getting an issue.
      If we locked the user from r/3 end using TCode 'SU01' or if the user get locked for too many wrong password attempt and then  he/she try to reset the password then this functionality not working. If we try to reset the password we are getting the mail with new password but with the new password portal not allowing us to enter. It's giving " Authentication failed" error.
    But If we reset the password without locking back-end user then itu2019s working. we are getting the mail with new password and  portal  allowing us to enter.
    Means if by any chance the backend user is locked then it's not working.
    what could be the reason?
    Thanks
    Sujan Indu

    If an administrator locks a user explicitly from SU01 (User ID Locked), then the user should not be able to unlock himself using the portal password self service application. That is the whole purpose of an administrative lock.
    However, the application should work if the password is locked due to a number of unsuccessful logon attempts.
    See SAP Note 1397312 -
    "users are allowed to reset their passwords only if it is locked because of too many failed logon attempts. If the user is locked by administrator he is not allowed to reset his password."

  • Vauge email issue! I mean password reconciliation difficulties.. i think.

    Hello, and a preemtive thank you for your Sunday assistance.
    Been having issues since i changed my yahoo email password.
    BB pearly 8110 cannot recieve or send emails.
    Request for password successfuly sent to device.
    Password or un are invalid.
    Imagine un can't be invalid (it's my email address -- and they managed to get my pw to me) and i was sent the pw.
    The email acount pw was never the same as the BIS account.
    Uh.. can't think of anything else. Utterly perplexed. Would be happy to give kudos and solve the problem if i'm able.
    Thanks,
    M
    Solved!

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    Your BIS account password and your email provider password are indeed different things. The request for password you requested was, I think, your BIS account password...and as such won't fix anything wrong with your email password. You need to log into your BIS account either from the device interface (Setup > EMail Settings) or the BIS website:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F
    Then, from within either of those, edit your email account configuration and change the password to what you changed it to at Yahoo.
    Hope that helps!

  • Issue at change  admin password

    Hi Guys,
    All in my environment works well I have APEX 4.0.2 installed on a WLS 10.3.5. I have ended my developments and a user tell me that the password for the URL
    http://app88:37001/apex/apex_admin is not working. So I follow a note in support to change it.
    I alter the password of the APEX_04000, and I use the script apxchpwd.sql.
    Then I work and all was ok.
    After 1 hour the same user report me that the URL to access to the applicaton (http://app88:37001/apex) showed the error:

    Hi Olga,
    I alter the password of the APEX_04000, and I use the script apxchpwd.sql. As far as I know, this script doesn't change anything concerning the database users. It just resets the password for the ADMIN user of the APEX internal workspace ("APEX_ADMIN").
    So the root cause for the stack trace you see, which is
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-28000: the account is lockedmust be located somewhere else...
    So I unlocked the passwords of APEX_04000, APEX_PUBLIC_USER and FLOWS_FILES to the same.Usually you'll just use APEX_PUBLIC_USER with your APEX Listener, so you don't need to unlock the others. I'm not sure what locked APEX_PUBLIC_USER on your system. Possibly you haven't disabled password aging and the account got locked because the password change didn't happen in time.
    If you chose a different password than the one you configured your APEX Listener with, you'll have to reconfigure it. To do that, you can either edit or delete the apex-config.xml that your APEX Listener is configured to use. Deleting would let you re-run */apex/listenerConfigure* , i.e. you start with a fresh configuration. If you prefer to just reset the password, you can simply put the new password into the corresponding entry. Since you probably don't want to encrypt the password yourself, you can simply use the plain password and put a ! in front of it, e.g.
    <entry key="apex.db.password">!newpassword</entry>The APEX Listener will take the passoword and store the encrypted value into the file upon the first start after the change.
    You need to restart the APEX Listener in either case.

  • Security issue: parameters username and password in the jbo:ApplicationModule

    Hello,
    in the <jbo:ApplicationModule> tag, you can give parameters for username and password, Then the .jsp connects to the DB via the username/password. Alternativly, You can provide this within the <Module>.properties file.
    Now the question: Isn't this a security hole? I mean, is it under all circumstances impossible, that the source-code can be delivered by the web-server or that the byte-code from the servlet (compiled from .jsp) can be "restringed"?
    Are there other ways to protect the credentials for accessing the ORACLE DB?
    Michael

    Hi John
    thank You very much. You wrote
    BC4J provides a number of mechanisms for specifying the DB username and password that do not require
    the password to be stored in a JSP page. By default, in 9.0.2, the DB password is stored in
    a BC4J configuration (persisted in a bc4j.xcfg file), which should be secured at the customer site. I've forgotten to mention our environment is SuSE7.2, DB 8.1.7.3, iAS 1.0.2.2, Portal 3.0.9.8.
    For simplicity we would like to use the first method via bc4j.xcfg, But our bc4j.xcfg looks as follows
    <quote>
    <BC4JConfig>
    <AppModuleConfigBag>
    <AppModuleConfig name="OPKv1ModuleLocal">
    <ApplicationName>de.condor.OPKv1.OPKv1Module</ApplicationName>
    <DeployPlatform>LOCAL</DeployPlatform>
    <JDBCName>WEBAPP_NETx</JDBCName>
    <jbo.project>de.condor.OPKv1.opkv1PRJ</jbo.project>
    </AppModuleConfig>
    </AppModuleConfigBag>
    </BC4JConfig>
    </quote>
    So the question is, where to leave schema/password?JDeveloper should have also generated a connection description in the same file named WEBAPP_NET. This
    named connection should contain the relevant elements. It is not recommended that you edit this file directly. The
    configuration editor and/or the connection editor should be used instead.
    Hope this helps.
