Issues in Swedish mail notification subject line

Hi team,
I have created one concurrent program which run on daily basis to send notification about employee contract expiration to their manager before 30 days.
I should send mail into swedish language. I am facing one issue into this.
I have compiled program correctly with Swedish as machine langage and i am able to see appropriate mail format in my package body.
But i receive mail notification, the mail body is in swedish language but mail subject removed the swedish characters.
Please check below details:
Apps : 12.1.3
Database : 11g
Responsiblity Name: HR Professional
Swedish Subject line in Code : HRMS System Varning: Anställningskontrakt löper ut om 28 dagar
Swedish Subject line in mail notification : HRMS System Varning: Anstallningskontrakt loper ut om 28 dagar
Sweidish Mail body in code : Observera att gällande anställningskontrakt för löper ut den
Swedish Subject in mail notification : Observera att gällande anställningskontrakt för löper ut den
I tried following approch:
1. I passed direct subject line to P_Subject parameter.
2. I assigned subject line to l_subject and then passed value l_subject to P_subject .
in both cases, i am getting wrong output. Kindly check and let me know if anything is required from my side.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Basaw

Hi Friend,
Thanks for quick reply.
It is not showing any garbage value or squares anything.
It is just removing swedish characters. Please check below:
Sweidish Mail body in code : HRMS System Varning: Anställningskontrakt löper ut om 28 dagar
Swedish Subject in mail notification : HRMS System Varning: Anstallningskontrakt loper ut om 28 dagar
If you see closely, in word Anställningskontrak and löpe, it is removied a and o which are special values in swedish characters.

  • Mail app subject line errors

    Hello all.
    I subscribe to e-mails sent by the Government of Canada. In Apple Mail, the subject line is garbled, as follows:
    =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Reminder - Briefing on the Prime Minister's Visit to France for the G-8 Sum?=          mit and to Greece
    Is there any way to correct this so Mail displays the correct subject line, without weird coding and font problems? The problem only occurs with messages from this sender in particular. Outlook handles these messages without any problem, but I prefer to use Mail.
    Many thanks for any advice.

    @Baron875, your answer is not entirely correct. Your method does NOT save all the original data. The original date of the message is changed to the date and time that you edited it! For business, this fixes one problem but creates another!! The only real answer to this question, which has been frustrating me ever since I switched to Mac, is to go back to Microsoft Outlook where it is simple to change the subject line... something that should be a no-brainer function for any mail client programmer. I really like Mail overall, but some of these idiotic shortfalls drive me nuts. I am becoming more and more convinced that Apple does NOT have the brightest programmers, as some people like to think.

  • Email update notifications subject line could be a *lot* more useful.

    I only started using the discussions forums a while ago (although I read quite a few Apple Mailing lists).
    I am registered to receive notifications for a few forums. These typically have a subject line like this:
    ===
    Apple Discussions forum "Some Forum" has been updated by Some User
    ===
    and a line in the body that reads:
    ===
    You have requested mail to be sent to you when messages to the Apple Discussions forum "Some Forum" are posted. Some User posted "Some Topic" on May 25, 2006 11:20:09 PM.
    ===
    It would be much nicer and more convenient if the subject line of these mail also contained the topic name, so that I can weed out those that I'm not interested in without actually opening the message, and also so that I can recognise which messages are going to direct to me to the same topic.
    For example:
    ===
    "Some Topic" in Apple Discussions "Some Forum" has been updated by Some User
    ===
    Even the thread id would be useful, if the length of the subject line is a concern.
    This should be pretty easy, as the information is clearly available when the mail is constructed.
    cheers,
    Martin

    Hi Martin
    that's odd, since my notification emails come with a subjecy header like
    Topic "Movies/Flash" in the Apple Discussions forum "Safari" has been updated by someone
    iMac G5 rev B   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   2GB 250GB

  • Apple mail incorrect subject lines (IMAP)

    I've seen a couple of suggested fixes for this issues but nothing seems to be working.
    Specs:
    Running Version 6.5 (1508) of Mail
    OSX 10.8.4 on MBP 13" Retina
    The issue that is becoming more consistent in occurance is that the subject line for an email may contain the body of an unrelated email (attached example).  Note that I use a great deal of Rules to route mail messages to their appropriate folder.  This issue just started about 1 week ago.
    I have tried:
    1. Rebuilt the inbox and various folders where the issue seems to be more common too many times to count
    2. Synchronized my inbox
    3. Deleted all "Envelope Index" files within ~/Library/Mail folder
    4. Deleting and recreating my Mail account
    If anyone has any other suggestions that would be great.  Not having an Apple friendly mail client that has no issues speaking with my Contacts and iCal is extremely problematic.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • On my iPad, E-mails have subject line but no body?

    E-mails on my iPad only show sender and subject line, but no body?

    Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Creating truly custom mail rule - Subject line word length?

    hey, first post... i am noting tons of spam where the subject line is one long mess consisting of junk words. There is no custom rule category allowing me to set something similar to:
    if SubjectLine has word with length >20 Junk It..
    Until Apple catches up to spammers and gives that to us, can anyone help me perhaps do this sort of thing? thanks, drew..

    i solved this myself and can be contacted privately for the answer..

    No, you can't change the subject as standard but you can change the body of the message from Trx PFTC under Decription tab.

  • ICal issues, external e-mail notification/invite problem, iPhone

    I'm having some problems with the iCal setup on my Mac server. In particular:
    1 - I can't send invitations out to external email addresses. Or perhaps I just don't get the responses
    2 - My Page calendar never loads (used to work)
    3 - CalDAV calendars on the iPhone constantly asking for authentication on iPhone network change
    4 - iPhone created events don't sync back to client iCal. vice versa.
    I see lots of recommendations to create an iCal server user in Workgroup Manager so you can create an email account and see the invites go out.
    When try to create a new user, say "iCal Server" and add the shortname "com.apple.calendarserver", it tells me "The name you have chosen conflicts with a name assigned to another user".
    I have not previously created this user, it doesn't show in my list, and I've checked the hidden system user accounts and I don't see it.
    I'm not sure what I'm missing. There are lots of people out there that know exactly how to set this account up as I don't see any complaints. Perhaps I'm over-thinking it.
    If someone could break down what I need to do, that would be great.
    Thanks

  • Billing output by mail fixed subject line

    HI,
    thx for your reply.my requirement is when i am running the vf31 transaction the billing mail subject as'''AAAA" and when i am running through VF04 billing mail subject as "BBBBB". but my requirement is *mail subject is fixed one as "BBBBB" *.how to do this? plz guide me.
    Regards
    Muthuraman.D

    My guess is that you're using a custom output processing program or a text symbol replacement program.
    Check the output type configuration. If in the 'Processing routines' there is a Z.... or Y... program then here is the answer - have the program changed. Otherwise (or in addition to) check if there is a program assigned in the 'Replacement of text symbols' field.

    First, you need to update to Firefox 17.0.1, as the version you are using (Firefox 3.6.3) is not only known to be buggy with many websites, but it is VERY Insecure. So, please update IMMEDIATELY before you do anything else. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version
    Then, AFTER updating (It's critically important that you update), read https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-look-wrong-or-appear-differently

  • Subject line not showing in mail

    When I receive mail from a colleague send to me from her Exchange account to my Exchange account and I read this account from my MacBook Pro Retina using Mail, the subject line does not show up. Instead it says: (no subject).
    When I look into the details of the mail, I can see that there is a line 'Thread-Topic: the subject my colleague put into the subject line'.
    So the subject is there, but Mail doesn't show it. I can't figure out why this happens or what I can do to stop it.
    The mails in question only have the subject line filled and no further content (there just short messages).
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Ed

    This is a recurring problem with Exchange servers. Sometimes it's fixed by rebuildiing the mailbox. Another possible fix is to disable the account in the Mail preferences dialog, then re-enable it. Back up all data before making any changes.

  • I Have No Voice Mail Notifications In Z10 Hub

    I have seen issues with Voice Mail Notifications in various threads, but I didn't see one having No Voice Mail Notifications In the Z10 Hub at all. Sorry if I missed a thread that applies.
    From what I was told by Blackberry Technical Support, at the bottom of the BB Hub next to "Calls", "Emergency Alerts" and "PIN", should be "Voice Mail" (or something similar). I have none and therefore do not get any notifications when I receive a Voice Message. I thought this was odd, and figured I had some settings incorrect, but that is not the case. It's just not there.
    I am in the USA on Verizon's network with the latest updated OS 10.1.0.2039 that they offered on a STL100-4, Z10.
    Anyone else have this issue?

    My wife had the same issue on her Z10.
    A quick call to customer service at AT&T and they set it up.
    Rebooted her phone, and all was well.
    I'm sure Verizon customer service can do this for you as well.
    Hope this helps.
    Sincerely -

  • Utility to control subject line

    I'd like to have a utility that prompts me to start filling the subject line with words from a drop down menu. I can control what subject line words go to which people I'm writing to.
    Intent is to help focus email threads with selected correspondents with eye catching (IMPORTANT) subject lines. Threads will therefore standout more easily in a folder with hundreds of long running conversations.
    Anything like this exist?

    Great news, thanks!
    maybe the developer will expand his product... I'll see.
    That's what I was thinking too!
    How do you find stuff like that?
    Google of course, the trick is to find the right words to use, (iirc it was osx mail autofill subject line), then looking for more key words in the results, to either narrow that search or do a new modified search, then of course Google keeps track of your previous searches & sort of learns what you're looking for after a few million searches, as well as kind of getting a feeling as to which search results might be good leads... which takes either lots of experience or Psychic abilities!

  • Missing Subject line for the Approval Notification Mail

    Hi,
    We use CUP 5.3 SP7. We have configured the system for role based approval. We found that the approval notification mail being sent without any Subject line. It's configurable to set the admin mail id, but couldn't find one to set the Subject.
    We get the following content in the mail....
    View <http://<host:port>/AE/index.jsp?verifyApproverLogin.do........................>
    Can we set it somewhere from the configuration?
    Regards, Anil

    Hi Alpesh,
    Thx for your reply..But i think you missed my point...Let me try to explain it again...
    When we submit a request, the system triggers a notification mail to the approver(s). And this mail seems to be missing a Subject line... and it's shown to be sent from the System E-mail id we set at the SMTP server config.
    I couldn't find a tab for setting the E-mail format for the first approver  neither at the stage nor in the e-mail reminder configuration.
    Perhaps, setting the next approver will help if i had a secondary approver. But we are using a single stage WF in CUP. Am i missing some config step here?
    Regards,
    Anil

  • Mail notifications for Eudora clients not displaying correct information in message subject

    I have been using PMDF from Innosoft with Netscape Calendar Server 4.0. I
    recently upgraded from Calendar Server 3.51 to 4.0, and I am using the
    sendmail command to
    send out email notifications. When I send out email notifications, clients
    who use Eudora and who are on a Windows platform do not see the correct
    information in the Subject line of the emails. This problem does not occur
    with other email clients, including Eudora clients on Macintosh platforms.
    This problem also does not occur when I send email using the natives endmail
    binary.
    <P>
    The following line is an example of the Subject line that is displayed when
    a Eudora client on Windows views an email notification:<BR><P>
    Subject: Wallace (xsw),Brian SmlhbiBT
    <P>
    Is there is a way to configure how Calendar Server writes the Subject lines
    for email notifications?
    <P>
    Check the setting for the character set that is being used for the content
    portion of email messages. This setting is in the Calendar Server
    configuration file, which is located at<BR>
    <P>
    /users/unison/misc/unison.ini
    <P>
    The mimecontentcharset
    parameter under the [CWS]
    section determines what character set is used to encode the content and subject
    portion of a (MIME) email message.<BR>
    <P>
    The accepted values for the mimecontentcharset
    parameter are as follows:<BR>
    <P>
    ISO-8859-1
    Shift_JIS
    MSCP932
    <P>
    The default value is ISO-8859-1
    .<BR>
    <P>
    For more information about the steps for configuring the Calendar Server,
    please see the Netscape Calendar Server 4.0: Administrator's Guide at
    <BR>

    Try first disabling any custom rules you may have, and see whether that makes a difference. If the problem persists, proceed as follows.
    Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
    The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
    After having fixed all the filesystem issues, if any, and ensuring that there’s enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), try this:
    1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong, e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down. This is where all your mail is locally stored.
    3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see any other “Envelope Index”-named file there, delete it as well.
    4. Move any “IMAP-”, “Mac-”, or “Exchange-” account folders to the Trash. Note that you can do this with IMAP-type accounts because they store mail on the server and Mail can easily re-create them. DON’T trash any “POP-” account folders, as that would cause all the mail stored there to be lost.
    5. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be “imported”. Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index — Mail says it’s “importing”, but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
    6. As a side effect of having removed the IMAP account folders, those accounts may be in an “offline” state now. Do Mailbox > Go Online to bring them back online.
    Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.
