Issues Opening An Existing Captivate 7 File

I'm having issues opening an existing Captivate 7 file, I had worked on this file this morning it opened properly, saved it and then opened again and a pop-up window appeared. I have attached a snapshot of this message. I had tried to open other files and the other files opened no problem.
Please let me know what the next steps are.
Thank you for your help.

  • Open an existing Excel file created by Report Generation Toolkit

How would I open an existing Excel file that has been created by the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit?
Let me explain my application. I have made a test program to collect data on a device. Each time I run the program I want it to append a new row onto an existing data file. Since the tests I do are sometimes over a period of days, I cannot keep the program open and running continuously. So I have to open an existing file and append the new data to it. In technical terms, what I need is to get the 'report out' reference to the existing Excel data file without losing the data that is already there.

For info on accessing Excel do a search in the examples for the word "Excel" you will get an example that shows how to open a spreadsheet and manipulate the data. This should get you started.

  • Report Generation tool kit for MS office (Opening an existing excel file and appending to the bottom)

I don't have any problems creating and filling an excel sheet with data. I use the New Report.vi, Easy Title.vi, and Easy Text.vi to create the file. I then save and dispose properly.
What I don't seem to be able to do is open the exsting file and append data to the end of the sheet.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    todd

    Hi Todd,
You can do this by creating a new Excel report with the existing excel file path wired to the "template" input. Then use "Excel Get Last Row.vi" (located under Report Generation\Excel Specific\Excel General) to obtain the location of the last row. Then use that location to input new data into the file.
    Hope this helps,

  • Is it safe to open a Windows Captivate file on a Mac?

We have Captivate installed on a PC and a Mac and I was wondering if it's safe to open a windows cptx file on a mac. I tried opening a project file created on a PC on the Mac and noticed that the font size changed (bigger) after publishing even if it looked fine when i opened it. Anyone else experienced this?

    Ron,
is my old Pro Keyboard from my bondi blue imac.
If I open it, will there be any crazy carcinogenic clouds of poison (exaggeration)?
Do you think its safe? I don't have the box, are there any warnings on it?
The original keyboard with the Bondi was the Apple USB Keboard.
A Pro Keyboard is the larger one, white. I've had one of these apart to repair it.
I like that keyboard and there's part of me that doesn't want to see one of those taken apart.
However I didn't see anything dangerous in there and I wouldn't expect there to be anything in the Bondi one.

  • Can you open an existing illustrator file with the application default settings?

I need to open a customers illustrator files that he sends me with the default application settings, not the setting he saved with his file.

    CS6 (Mac) but soon CC.
What is happening is they are saving the files with among other things, print scaling set to something other than 100%. If one of our operators does not catch it, the plate files are ripped at a smaller size than what they should be.
This customer does thier own production work and sends us "plate ready" files but sometimes forgets to change this setting back to 100% (he changes the scaling to something that will fit on a letter size page so he can check his separations).
I seem to recall (from years ago), there was a way to open a file using the applications default settings, not the settings saved within the file itself.

  • Not able to open an existing cp file

I am using the Adobe captivate trial version. I tried
recording a presentation and it came to something between 30-40MB.
I tried previewing it in browser after saving the cp and it
worked fine. Then i tried opening it up in the application again
and it gave me a prompt message saying that the file already exists
and whether I want to overwrite, save or cancel the operation. I
tried doing all three on the copy of the file and it didn't further
do anything. I tried creating a new file and importing the original
file but it did the same thing again. Before I closed the
application first time it encoded the file and created a
presentation in swf and mp3 file. Do anybody know is there anywhere
we can trace the intermediate file incase I can't recover the
    original file?
    Thanks and regards,
    Venkat

    Hi Venkat
The only "intermediate" file is the actual .CP file itself.
The .CP file is the project
    source
file and is use to create
    output
files. (Never confuse your source with your output! This is
    especially true of food.
I think the larger question here is: Where exactly are you
saving the file? Your local C drive or a network drive? If you are
saving to a network drive, this is often the culprit for corrupted
files. There is probably little chance of actually recovering your
file, so you will probably need to simply re-create it.
It would certainly be interesting to know the exact steps you
are following, as the only time I ever recall seeing a message that
the file exists, is when I'm publishing my source file to create
    output files.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Not able to open the existing PDF files from Content Server in VL02N

    Hi All,
In Delivery transaction VL02N, we are not able to open the PDF file attachments which were created in the Past (Ex. 01/01/2014) from the Content Server. Recently upgraded to Enhancement Pack 7 and not sure whether the issue is due to this upgrade.

  • I almost always receive the message "[filename] file couldn't be opened" when opening an existing Pages file in iCloud. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I am using a MacBook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.2, using Pages 5.5.2.
I've tried signing off and on, and restarting my MacBook, which sometimes works, but the problem re-occurs. Same problem using Apple Numbers and iCloud.
Opening local files seems to work more consistently.
This issue has made Pages and iCloud fairly useless to me. Does anyone have any ideas how to correct this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Ibo,
This is what just worked for me:
In Finder, I've dragged all Pages files from the iCloud Drive to the Documents folder on my iMac. (Finder asks your confirmation to remove the files from iCloud; confirm that)
Once they were on my local hard drive, the files could be opened again.
It looks to me as if something has changed in iCloud quite recently, leading to this mess. Not the first time, I've had this before. Now it's back. Sigh. And, as you wrote, it renders iCloud fairly useless. Back to Dropbox I suppose.

  • I can't open my existing web file through iWeb anymore

The only change that was made was upgrading to Lion from Snow Leopard, but I was able to retrieve my web file with no problems after this. Now when I try to open my file, it starts as if I'm creating a new website file. I have even tried to retrieve the file from an old backup but this did not make any difference. Does anyone know what my next step would be?

In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • Is there a way to open an existing opar file to just explore the same

Is there a way to open a OPAR file and explore the metadata xml files in them. Does any utility in the EMPDK allow us to do the same?

You can use unzip to extract files from an opar file.
    Ex:
    unzip <opar file>

  • Why can I not open an existing PDF file?

I get the following message:  "There was an error opening this document.  This file cannot be found."
I know that the file is there.  In fact, none of my PDF file will open.

There was an option in the Old Keynote "Save new documents as packages". If it's off, the document would be automatically zipped. As a result, you couldn't "Show Package" on it.
if you selected it, it would save as a package and you could "Show Package"
This second one is what the new Keynote is doing and there's no option otherwise. SO, I believe you'll have to .zip the file yourself before emailing in order for it to send successfully. However, I'll have to play around a bit more specifically with the iPad interactions.
OH, just thought about another option. Have you tried sharing via iCloud instead? It provides a link that can be pasted in an email and loaded from both Mac's and iPads (and PC's if they have a recent browser, it'll load in iWork for iCloud).

  • Where do I find an index.xml file to open an existing pages file

    as above

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

  • Issue opening an existing model or creating a new model in VC 7.0

    Hi All,
We have installed VC 7.0 and upgraded to EP 7 (SP08). We followed everything that was on the installation guide and have all the prerequisites installed both on the client and the server machine. We are on a Windows 2003 Sever and we have both MS XML Parser 4.0 and j2sdk 1.4.2_09. On the client side,we have both XML Parser 4.0 and SVG Viewer3.0
The first time, I tried to create a model in VC 7.0, I could successfully create one. When I tried to open the model that I created, I was unable to do so. In addition, I could not create any more new models. The error I get in the message box while trying to open/create a new model is
"Proxy Error: Server Error: Failed to load rules list of model"
"Model root is bad or missing"
Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated!.
    Thanks,
    Mansha

    Mansha,
I was able to finally find the property, and this did solve my problem.  Following is a bit more detail on the fix, in case someone else runs into this problem.
    1) open the J2EE config tool from C:\usr\sap\XXX\XXXX\j2ee\configtool
    2) expand the instance node and press on the "server_XXX" node
    3) under the java parameters list in the right side of the screen add the following line:
    -Djavax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory=com.sap.engine.lib.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl
    4) press the Save Button.
    5) restart server instance
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Brian
