Issues opening attachments 800w

I have a 800w with Windows mobile 6.1 connecting to a 2003 Exchange SP2 server.  Everything is syncing just fine with active sync but when I try to open a attachment I get nothing.  It looks like its downloading but never turns the icon to a real icon.
I have Mobile 5 and 6 devices that are working just fine.
URLScan is NOT installed on the server.
Soft and hard resets have resulted in the same behavior as well as replacing the device with a new one.
I cant find any errors on either the server or the device.
Oh yeah... I can forward a message with a attachment from my phone to my hotmail account (which is also on my phone) and the attachment opens just fine.
I'm guessing it has something to do with 6.1 but im not sure.....
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks for reading.

  • Having issues opening attachments after Mountain Lion Update

    Hello,
I am having issues opening up attachments with the correct application in mail.  For instance, I received an email with a microsoft word attachment, even though, I have microsoft word installed on my mac it's telling me that it can't open it.  So, I have to then open it through preview.  Mail also doesn't want to print any attachments from the app itself.  I have to open it in Preview first and then print it.  I don't remember having to do that in Lion.  Is anyone else having this problem or have a fix for this? Or am I just going crazy here?  Thanks.

I'm having the same issue.  So far all lion has done for me is make all my microsoft office documents un-readable until I upgrade (about $150) and lose my home share capabilities...can anyone assist with this?

  • Issues opening attachments

All of my users cannot open attachments receiving through outlook. The attachments are showing corrupted when try to open or save. I have windows server 2008 r2 serving as the domain server. I am not sure where the problem resides. I also have Symantec
endpoint protection installed on the server and all client computers. Symantec was set to scan all the attachments receive through email. I have turned off that feature and hoping that will fix the problem. The issue still exists. Hope some one can help me.

    Hi,
I am Chetan Savade from Symantec Technical Support team.
Just to isolate issue completely from SEP point of view remove outlook Plug-in.
Need to go to "Add or Remove Programs" to remove the AntiVirus Outlook Plug-in.
Steps to uninstall the Outlook Plug-in:  Open up the Control Panel
    Open
    Add or Remove Programs
    Select
    Symantec Endpoint Protection
    Click
    Change
When the installer comes up click Next
Select the Modify option and click Next
    Open the
    AntiVirus Email Protection
    Click on the
Outlook Scanner and select the This feature will not be available option
    Click
    Next and then Finish
    What's the SEP client version?

  • Opening attachments with a dot in the name in the Mail app

I'm having an issue opening attachments in Mail when the file includes a dot in the name.
For example, a file called name.v2.pdf does not seem to be recognized as a PDF file. It's not even recognized as anything, the file is shown in the mail but clicking on it does not trigger anything. Renaming that file to something like name-v2.pdf ("-" instead of ".") and everything is fine and working.
Anyone know how to get around that or if Apple plans a fixing this? I've been having the issue since iOS 5...
Only solution I found up to now is using another mail client than the default Mail app of Apple but that's a shame.

Sorry my bad. This is happening with zip files not pdf. Indeed I've retried with a pdf and it does work.
Usually with a zip file in a mail, I touch & hold the file to have the "open in" menu come up.
However, when the file is name like "name.v1.zip", the menu does not want to come up... which for a zip file is necessary since the Mail app does not handle zip files.
I've tried sending and receiving from different accounts, my gmail and my work Exchange account, in all cases, the file does not want to open if there is a period in the name other than the one for the extension.
    Thanks for your help.

I'm often having issues with clients not seeing or being able to open attachments, font formatting changes (on the pc end) and the inability to use HTML signatures to promote our company brand.

I imagine your clients must be using Outlook, which is seriously broken when it comes to e-mail standards, especially HTML e-mail. You can work around the issues with Outlook by only sending plain-text e-mails and making sure that, in the Edit -> Attachments menu, the last two options are checked. Unfortunately, that means that HTML signatures are out.
If you need something with a fancy layout, either attach a PDF file to the e-mail or include a link to a website in the e-mail.

  • I cannot open attachments

Hi, when I try to open an attachment most times it does not work. I do not get an error message, but a window blinks instantly (i cannot read what it says, it might be the "download" window from the shape and nothing happens, the external application does not open or leads the file (if opened already). I have to save the file first and then I can open without any problem. This issue is not specific to any file type. If I try to open a file several times at some point it might work.
    Thanks!

  • Need to synch calendar and contacts, but also open attachments with OWA

I have a client with a Tour 9630.  They are using Exchange 2007 so we cannot use BES or BPS on that server (their only one).
His biggest gripe using the redirector was that he could not open attachments.  After doing some digging, I found out that you cannot open attachments unless you are using the BIS service and connecting through OWA.
SO...fought the authentication issues since they have a self-signed certificate on their Exchange box...turned off all the authentication and woila..OWA worked like a charm.
NOW, though, his contacts and calendar no longer synch since he is just hitting the OWA mail!
Is there a way to enable opening attachments while still synching calendar and contacts?
I turned off redirector on the pc since OWA was working.
If I turn the redirector back on to keep the synch going, will he get duplicates of mail?

I've gotten this 4403 error before, and somehow resolved it without knowing how.
THIS TIME, however, I  tried turning off the synch on my Documents-To-Go, and that fixed things.
Checking on other discussions on the internet regarding this "Protocol Error: Too many files. (4403)", I'm seeing a pattern of Documents-To-Go when resident apps are listed, which seems to tentatively confirm my conclusion. The obvious implication here is that one or more versions of Docs-To-Go have a conflict with something in one or more versions of the Palm OS, and/or other 3rd party apps.
I've be interested in whether this works in other users' experiences.

  • Problems opening attachments from outlook

This week I have been unable to open attachments from Outlook 2010. I use Firefox as my browser and for some reason when I click on an attachment it is downloaded into Firefox. This has only just started to happen. If I try to open a PDF document I would
expect it to just open as a PDF rather than a Firefox download. How can I resolve this issue?

    Hi Tweek,
Might be you are working with disabled attachment preview option. Follow the given path and turn on it:
File >> Options >> Trust Center >> Trust Center Settings (under Microsoft Outlook Trust Center) >> Attachment Handling
If the above solution does not help, then change the default program for opening attachment. Make a right click on the PDF Document and select
“Open With” option. Choose the default program and set it to as
“Always the selected program to open this kind of file”.

What countries outlawed the shutter noise on a camera?
And wouldn’t BB need to police BB World for programs that would support illegal activity in the countries you mention?
“In case you skipped over reading your link, no where is BlackBerry mentioned. Why would BlackBerry be addressing gaping holes in the Android OS? There is no Android OS on BlackBerry10.”
OF COURSE the article doesn’t mention BB. The point is that while people become more trusting with their devices and are told to “download the app” they tend to not read what they are signing up for. Despite your lack of vision in reference of something that could be phony, malicious programs exist and mobiles are ever increasing as targets.
“Finally, if you want bicker, nitpick and continue off-topic, please create your own thread elsewhere. This is thread is for Feature Requests. I responded to the user with alternatives. You responded with opinion, snarky commentary and inuemndo. Offtopic to this thread.”
I wasn’t off topic. You quashed the users requests with 3rd party apps and gave your opinion on moving apps to an SD card. I was making a point that the need for 3rd party involvement would be unnecessary if the issue was addressed at the OS. As well as a reason to avoid a 3rd party if at all possible, furthermore I was explaining why downloading apps something is to be cautious of.

  • Issue opening microsoft powerpoint presentation

I am having issues opening a powerpoint presentation through microsoft word. The error message I am receiving is "There was an error accessing MacintoshHDusers..." Any suggestions? I am receiving the file from another mac user who I believe is using keynote.

I only know that the slide shows has .pps as an extension which is > PowerPoint and that all of these I receive as attachments the sound will not play when I open them in Keynote. Keynote opens it as a PowerPoint presentation but I have the option to change it to Keynote. The sound will not play in either option. The audeo could be in any number of Microsoft audio formats.

  • Can't open attachments in firefox. Ok in i.e and from iphone and outlook

When using firefox for email, I am now unable to open any attachments. It has happened during the last week, before this it was fine and I haven't changed any settings (that I am aware of).
I have tried all the usual reboot stuff and looked at as many settings as possible, but nothing jumps out.
The same email attachments open fine in outlook, from my iphone and in ie, but I prefer the firefox as I am used to using it for so long now. Also, old attachments that I have opened in the past will no longer open.
Never had any problem before with opening attachments. All programmes are affected - word, excel, pdf etc.
    Thanks - Jacki

  • Unable to open attachments in WebUI only for some users

    Hello ,
Can you please help with this attachment problem we have..
Certain users are unable to open/view attachements in emails.
This is causing huge downtime as the users work a lot on emails and attachments.
    1. Checked the profile of users who are able to open and who are not
able to open and they appear same
    2. PC issue was ruled out as the user who was unable to open the
attachment tried logging into the pc where user was able to open the
attachment , but still could not open the attachment
Can you please suggest what could be the issue.
    Thanks
    Regards
    Monica.

    Hi Monica,
If the authorization check was not problems, and the problematic user tried in a same Internet Explorer with the same settings where another user can open attachments without problems, it's complicated
I would tried to debug a little in the SAP system with the problematic user, trying to get some clues about it. I can point you:
    - The URL that is associated to an attachment is built on iterator class CL_CRMIC_ATTACHMENTS_IT, at method IF_HTMLB_TABLEVIEW_ITERATOR~RENDER_CELL_START. There you have a switch, and when the p_column_key is 'FILENAME', check the value for
lv_row_ref->url. It should be something like this:
    /sap(<COOKIESTRING>)/crm/crm_att_provide?cid=<CONTENT_ID>&content_disposition=attachment
    - When you try to open the attachment, the class that will handle this is CL_CRM_ATT_PROVIDER. Check method IF_HTTP_EXTENSION~HANDLE_REQUEST and debug it's execution.
Check if this helps you a little more...
    Kind regards,
    Garcia

    Hello jmcleod,
I see that you are having a problem with opening attachments in Windows live mail. Since the issue is only happening in Windows live it is most likely an issue with the program.
How long have you been having the problem?
Do you get any kind of error message when you try and open an attachment?
Has there been any changes recently to your computer? (Updates, new programs, pop-ups)
