Issues using XDOLoader - file permissions

I have not yet run the XDOLoader utility successfully, but I'm trying to create an .ldt file to port our template .rtf files across database instances.
Can anyone help me determine why I'm getting a file permissions error? (See below)
I created a shell script with the following:

Please check permissions for directory from where you execute the command.
By the way, XDOLOADER has nothing to do with ldt file. LDT file is for data definition and created/used by FNDLOAD. XDOLOADER is for moving template file itself.

created a Web Service
Got the WSDL file
Created a new data connection in the Adobe form
Pulled the interface elements from the data view and designed the form
Now when I input data to the form the data is mapped to web service interface and its passed to the RFC function module
*But when I have a table I add rows to the table dynamically using addInstance method*
Now when I submit back the data to the webservice only the last record of the table is passed to the web service can u guide me hw to get all the records of the table passed back to the web service

I have not worked on WSDL, but there should be some way to call method written in WD Java or ABAP. You have to write code of creating instance of the Table in that method.
We are still working on it, we are using WD java and facing same issue. Will keep you updated if i solved this problem.

Issues using msi files packaged by Creative Cloud Packager.

But when I try installing the products by doublecklicking the msi file, it doesn't install. It will only install if I doubleclick on the Setup file. And since I can't find a sillent install command line for that, and need to package this for use from SCCM 2012, it's no good. Also, I need a silent uninstall command for the product's, since the product codes can't be found in the registry under HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall, I'm not sure where to find the uninstall string either. Had a support chat for more than 50 minutes with an adobe engineer that was not very helpful at all and the chat ended abruptly without any resolution for me...

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to install a by Double clicking on MSI package.
If you are looking for the Command that you should use to install, here it is:"msiexec.exe /i <pkg_name>.msi /quiet". Make sure you are already in that directory where you have this MSI package while running this in command prompt

I've encountered this error myself upon occasion. If I remember correctly, it was a permissions/ownership issue with the some of the files I was copying.

I would first of all trash the preference file for InDesign, make sure the application is closed then find the prefs in
/Users/USER NAME/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign and just throw the entire folder away, it will generate a new one after you launch InDesign again.
Now launch InDesign and see if the problems are resolved.
If not I would repair your permissions on your hard drive wih disk utility, and if that fails then di-install InDesign and re-install that single application.

Preserving Current Owner file permissions using the copy function

I've been trying to use ARD 3's Copy function to overwrite a single user's Home folder in a classroom environment made up of a few Macs.
This is done with the aim of refreshing the Home folder every time a class is concluded.
However, although the Copy function works and succeeds in overwriting the Home folder, when the client is logged in locally, all the applications suffer from permission issues.
I've tried both the; Inherit from destination folder and; (ii) Preseve current owner, file permissions in the "Set item ownership to" option of the Copy window but neither appear to work.
I've also attempted to mirror the target user's account by creating the same account on the admin machine to push the Home folder over but the permissions remain a mess later.
Is there a way to get around this without having to implement lengthy UNIX commands?
I know of the existence of remote management apps, e.g. Deep Freeze (http://www.faronics.com/html/DFMac.asp), but under a budget constraint, such options are undesirable at the moment.

As to too small - what is too small? The pixel dimensions of the exported JPEG will be identical to the original TIFF - the file size is smaller because JPEGs are compressed - which of course reduces file size - which of course is the reason that JPEG exists

Problems with file permissions and authorization/authentication and hostname (using ddns)

decided to rewrite this entire question...it was too hard to understand what i want.
I have a student version of server 2012 r2. I installed like 50 roles, and then deleted 90% of them. i have....a bunch of webserver roles, almost all of them i bet, and misc others. no AD or dns roles..i deleted those i thought they might have been the problem.
I connected this to a dynamic dns courtesy of No-ip.com. example.ddns.net
when installing a blog or cms, and I am asked for the server name (for database) do i use localhost, 192.168.1.###, my router ip, computer name, example.ddns.net, or something else?
Same question above for iis bindings! What do i put for the host?
secondly, what file permissions do i set up? I can't seem to access umbraco, for example, from outside the network unless i use windows admin credentials in the physical path credentials via IIS advanced options.

Complex file permissions issues

I'm working on trying to setup file permissions on a share for a client and have been unable to figure out a way to do what they have asked for. They have a predefined structure of directories inside each client directory and have shared the parent folder
that holds all the individual client directories. In each client directory it has the same structure as the other clients' and is supposed to have varying permissions regarding files and folders throughout, however, the initial structure of directories should
never be allowed to be changed by the client accounts in the group granted permission to their structure.
Throughout the structure those in that client group in AD should have read and execute everywhere, which is easy to set and I've had no issues with. In some of the subdirectories they should have modify/delete for it's contents, sometimes restricting this
to just files vs files and directories. If the directory that should allow that is not followed by any further directories defined by the structure I can configure that as well. It's when a directory is supposed to allow the client modify/delete on it's subdirectories
and files BUT it has a child that the client should NOT have modify/delete on because it's part of the pre-defined structure that I run into a problem.
Example folder structure:
Client_Name -> Data -> DataSub
They have read, transverse, list, execute on Client_Name and can't change the Data directory itself. Then they need to be able to create, modify and delete files and directories inside Data BUT they can't be allowed to do that to the prexisting DataSub directory.
They also must be able to create, modify, and delete files and directories inside DataSub.
I've tried using a deny rule applying to "This folder only" on DataSub and selecting (create files/write data, create folders/append data, write attributes, write extended attributes, delete subfolders and files, and delete) while having an allow
rule for the same + read applying to "This folder, subfolders, and files" but DataSub is still modifiable and then nothing inside it is.
I've also tried allowing (traverse folder/execute file, list folder/read data, read attributes, read extended attributes, read permissions) on DataSub applying to "This folder only" and then another allow rule applying to "Subfolders and files
only" allowing (create files/write data, create folders/append data, write attributes, write extended attributes, delete subfolders and files, and delete). DataSub is still modifiable and nothing inside it is again.
I can't figure out how to do this and I'm not 100% sure it's even possible. If anyone could provide any insight or help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi, If I see it correctly, that's how I would do it;
- I would desactivate inheritance on all 3 folders & remove all security.
- I would create 3 groups to apply to each folder.
- I would make the group member of each folder with the general read flag.
- I would click in the advanced security to make them able to modify, erase for
file and subfolder only
I would not use deny as it make the ACL harder to read.

When i create a file, it has read-write-executable permissions for the creator and admins. It has read-executable for all other users. If i call setWritable(true, false) on the created file, the "other users" permission group disappears, making the file completely un-accessible for that group. Any thoughts on how i can make the file r-w-x for all users?
Another weirdness. If a file is created by a non-admin, when I log in as an admin and call file.Delete(), the method returns true. But the file will not actually be deleted from the file system. (Even though the file can be deleted without any password from windows explorer).

It is probably just inheriting the permissions of that directory.

Be sure to properly close your streams - it's a very common mistake.

I have checked the Sharing and Permissions section of the "Get Info" panel accessed from the Finder and I have set Read and Write Privileges for my user account for Photoshop CS6. System and Admin are also set to Read and Write.
I have a MacBook Pro with OS X Version 10.9.5 and have all available updates for Photoshop CS6, Lightroom 5 and Bridge CS6.
I tried uninstalling the program and downloading it again and reinstalling, but nothing changed.

Photoshop won't start: Could not open a scratch file because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file.

I've tried finding and checking and fixing permissions but no success.
This happened from one day to the next. I think it has to do with the sn attached to the disk rather then the motherboard. I have the suite co-installed with Symphony 5.05. I've tried reinstalling.
What's to b done? The rest of the Creative Suite 6 (AE, AI etc.) works fine.

I'm using that configuration and it works for me. There have been some reports of kernel panics with FileVault and SSD's. The cause is unknown. Chances are you'll be fine, but make good backups.

File permissions issue when putting a file into another person's Drop Box

I frequently drop files from my Mac into a co-worker's Drop Box on her Mac. When I do so, however, the files are inaccessible to her until she does a Get Info and changes the owner to herself.
I've done file sharing of this sort between many different Macs before, but this is the first time I've ever seen someone have to alter file permissions on a file I gave to them--every single time. How can I avoid this problem?

I too have noticed this behaviour with the drop box and find it irritating. I don't use it much so I haven't investigated a solution, but your colleague could try opening Terminal from her admin account and entering these commands:
sudo fsaclctl -p / -e [this enables ACLs on her boot drive]
The below two lines can be pasted in at the same time (replacing "mary" with her short user name):
sudo chmod +a "mary allow delete,chown,list,search,add_file, \
addsubdirectory,delete_child,file_inherit,directoryinherit" ~mary/Public/Drop\ Box
That should allow her to have full access to any files put into her drop box. Rebooting might be necessary for the ACL settings to take effect.
Disclaimer: AFAIK this should work because I have gotten similar things working before. But I have not tested this specific solution.
FWIW, it might be easier to just e-mail her the file instead.

Any issues pulling files from external partners using PI File adapter?

I would like to know if there are any issues with pulling files directly from external partners using PI File adapter.
We are estimating 60 communication channels to pull files from the external vendors (25 vendors). Polling for these communication channels will be done for every 5 minutes. We have a load of around 500 files per day with peak size as 50MB and average file size as 2MB. We are currently using PI 7.0 SP12.
Did any one face any problems with respect to performance or any other issues?

The volume as described would be handled with no issues.
