Issues with exchanging

I went last night to go exchange my iPhone since it has dust under the screen and I figured it would be no big deal. Except when the checked the phone they showed me that the phone has water damage since the little sensor was tripped. I was told that it automatically voids the warranty with the phone which *****. The only thing is the phone is in perfect working order and you can't tell there's anything wrong with it. I have a case # and the number to Apple Care and they told me I'd have to go through them since the store can't do anything.
Has anyone had any luck with getting a phone replaced that has water sensor tripped? My guess it's a long shot but I really don't want to have to buy a new phone since I'd have to pay the full $500 for it.

I tired calling Apple Care like I said and that lead to no where, so I decided to call my credit card company. Sure enough I did have the coverage for accidental damage within a 90-day period and since I got the phone 2 months ago they told me it was covered. Hopefully I'll be able to get a free replacement out of this.
I went through all that stuff with my credit card company and they replaced my water damaged phone for free.

  • Issues with Exchange Account and Q10

Well, I hate to be writing this, but I'm hoping that there might be someone out there that can help get past some first day issues I am experiencing.
The background: I have a long history with legacy BlackBerry devices, and almost as much history with iOS devices. My most recent phone was an iPhone 4S, and I make extensive use of iCloud to keep my iMacs, iPhone, and iPad connected in real-time. The setup worked. It wasn't perfect, but it worked. However, because I used to have a BlackBerry device (most recent the 9930) and because I don't use the iPhone for more than e-mail, iMessage, and phone calls (generally speaking), I decided to give the newest BlackBerry device a shot. So I bought a Q10.
At this point I feel compelled to say that the hardware is everything I had hoped it to be. It's solid, has a good weight, and appears to be made very well. I have no complaints with the hardware, including the keyboard (a big selling factor for me), so I won't really get into the hardware as the issues I am experiencing all have to do with the OS. Let me also say that I am very familiar with the iCloud integration issues (missing Contact photos and disabled Calendar sync), so I'm not voicing a complaint over those issues in this thread.
I have connected my Exchange account. I used to have everything in Exchange before I moved my entire computing world over to Apple, and now I keep Exchange around for e-mail. Therefore, I have no contacts, no tasks, no notes, very limited calendar entries, and a massive amount of e-mail on the Exchange server. However, to test everything out, I have added a single contact record so I can see it show up on the phone and be able to test two-way sync between the Q10 and Exchange. And here is where the first issues crop up. It looks like Exchange connects and then disconnects at random. For example, if I open my Contacts on the phone, I see the one contact (called John Doe). Then, as the phone is sitting there with the screen on, the contact will disappear and I will see a "Start adding contact to your contact list" notice on the screen. Then, after a short period of time, the single contact will return. It is important to note that the entire time this is happening, the All Contacts option is selected in the list so that all available contacts are shown. Additionally, I have SIM card contacts turned off, but if I alter the selection in the view list (All Contacts, Favorites, etc.), the SIM contacts will re-appear when I return to the All Contacts view. At the same time, even though I have turned off SIM Contacts in the settings, the setting has reverted to show SIM Contacts. If I turn off the setting again, SIM Contacts still show up. Possibly related: I can't delete contacts on the SIM card, no matter how many times I try, and it now it seems that I can't get SIM Contacts to go away in the Contacts app.
Likewise, Exchange seems to connect and disconnect from Calendar. I go to the calendar and move day by day to June 15th. I see an entry that I know is from Exchange (I have no other connected calendars at this time), and it is in blue. I change the calendar color to green and the entry changes color, as expected. However, if I jump back to today and then scroll day by day to get to June 15th again, the calendar entry is missing. After a few seconds, the entry re-appears, but it is, once again, in blue. The setting has reverted itself, and it seems like Exchange is completely disconnecting and automatically reconnecting to the phone like I am setting it up again for the first time. Very odd. As I'm typing this, I just saw something odd. I swiped to wake up the phone, and the active frames screen was the visible screen. The calendar app is still running (since I left it running, minimized, when the phone went to sleep) and the date shown in the active card was Jan 1, not Jun 8. Why? The date (and time) on the phone is correct and is set automatically by the cellular system.
Nevertheless, looking at BlackBerry Hub, I see only two e-mails in my Inbox from Exchange, even though I have roughly a dozen in my Inbox. The rest are filed in sub-folders. And bam! Just like that... I get the "Add Accounts" screen while looking at the Hub. In other words, as I was typing this, I first saw two Exchange e-mails and then, out of nowhere, the e-mails disappear and I see the "Add Accounts" screen as if no account has been connected.
So... first question: Is anyone else experiencing this issue? This is very strange, and very frustrating. Second: could this be related to the large amount of e-mails I have stored on Exchange, some of which have large attachments? I selected "Forever" as the sync history length. I have my concerns, however, if this is related to loading historical e-mails onto the phone (in other words, the first sync with Exchange) because there is no reason that I can understand that the phone would blank out as if no account was connected at all. I can understand lag and stuttering while the history is syncing, but not a complete disconnect and reconnect. Considering all of the issues with the one and only contact record disappearing, the calendar entry for Jun 15th disappearing and then reappearing with the wrong calendar color, and e-mail in my Inbox incomplete (two of a dozen e-mails) and ultimately disappearing, I feel like this OS just has some real, significant issues.
Full disclosure: I do want iCloud to work and am a fan of Apple products, but the lack of full iCloud sync support is not a big enough issue for me to want to send back this phone and/or see it fail so miserably. I will happily move my info from iCloud into Exchange, Google, and/or set up a new Exchange account for personal use (Office 365) because I am not wedded to iCloud per se. But, I won't go through that trouble if I can't even get my first account to work properly. It should also be noted that I do have a basic Google account (non-paid) and I had previously attempted to connect to it. However, I was experiencing the exact same issues with contacts disappearing, e-mail disappearing, etc. So I deleted that account. Truth be told, I deleted the Exchange account as well, and then re-connected to Exchange only to test one account at a time. Unfortunately, even with Exchange only, I am seeing very strange and frustrating behavior as described above.
Help... please. I want this to work but the frustration I am feeling is growing worse by the hour.

    To follow-up with this issue:
I ended up performing a security wipe on my device. The security wipe finished, and I was about to reconnect with Exchange when I decided to visit our host's web site to see if they had any articles covering the issues I was experiencing. While they didn't have anything specific, I did find a step-by-step guide to connecting a BB10 device to Exchange... and right there at the end, it said "Do NOT enable memo sync."
I contacted support, and the rep told me that OS 10 has an issue with memo sync and it can cause all sorts of unpredictable behavior. Now, whether or not this is accurate I can say this: So far, the device is not disconnecting and reconnecting like it was before. Problem is, is this a result of not enabling memo sync, or is this a result of the security wipe?
I may have overlooked it, but I don't recall reading anything about that anywhere else. I'm tempted to try re-enabling the memo sync to see if everything blows up again. At least that way I can see for myself if the memo sync is a real issue. Of course, perhaps it's an issue with SherWeb (our host) specifically. Hm...
Anyway, for those that were interested, and for those that may come along in the future with a similar situation, the strange behavior that I first reported is no longer happening. I just don't know if it was a result of a security wipe or a result of not enabling memo sync with Exchange.

  • Strange issue with Exchange system

In the Exchange organization there are 2 CAS servers, 2 MBX servers.
    Memento Mori

    Hi Vick,
Based on my research, I suggest you should upgrade the AD first.
    1. Exchange 2013 CU5 contains schema changes. To upgrade the Schema to CU5 you can execute the following command:
    Setup.exe /PrepareSchema /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
    2. And you also should upgrade the
Configuration Partition and the Domain Partition with the following command:
    Setup.exe /PrepareAD /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
    Setup.exe /PrepareDomain /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
    3. After finished above two steps, now you can start to upgrade an Exchange 2013 server to CU5. Open a command prompt and enter the following command:
    Setup.exe /Mode:Upgrade /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

  • Huge Macmail on ML issues with Exchange Imap

I can't seem to get Macmail on a new Macbook Pro with ML to work with our Exchange Imap server.  The weird thing is that we have another new Macbook (with ML) that I created using an older Mac's Time Machine and had no issues with Macmail. The mail settings are identical!

Sounds like you could try deleting the current keychain entry, then quit Mail.app. Open Mail.app again, when it asks for the password go ahead and type it in then just click Always Trust, etc. to see if it can hold onto that certificate this second time around. You also might have more than one entry in the Keychain list, so hunt around there a little to make sure you get everything deleted related to your Zimbra/Exchange IMAP accont.

  • IPhone 6 with iOS 8 Issues with Exchange Mail Header

Multiple users report issues with Headers in the Apple Mail Client
Condensed/Squished Text (in the Message Header)
Blank Headers (in the Message Previews)
Touch Calibration - Off by 2cm after attempting to interact with blank messages
Has anyone else been experiencing these issues... any fixes?

Did you find a solution for this problem yet?
We are haveing the same problem where I work.
Also using Exchange server and IOS devices.
Are you using a VPN tunnel on the IOS devices?
A few Days ago I had this problem on my own device (iPhone6, IOS8.3)
I was Reading emails on my way to work.
When I got to work and started the computer ONE of the emails was marked unread in Outlook.
On the device it was marked as "read".
One thing that I remember is that I had bad Connection at the time I was syncing emails and I got
the popup message: "Can not get emails - Connection to server failed" (my translation from Swedish)
I have a feeling that the error message and the problem with unread emails are connected somehow.
Also, when I turn off the email account for my iPhone (to remove all emails) and turn it back on (reload all emails)
the mail that was set as "read" is now "unread" again on my iPhone.
This means (speculatinos) that sometimes the device mark emails as "read" but for some reason it does not
tell the server that it is "read". So the server still Thinks that the email is "unread".

  • VCal issues with Exchange

This has been a really hard one to track down, hard to search on. Here's the issue:
User is running the latest iCal on Snow Leopard. It is connected to Exchange 2007 and generally works fine. However when the user downloads a vCal item from www.united.com it imports into iCal just fine but never updates on the Exchange server. So the users assistant can't see these events.
If we edit the item, move it to a different calendar (his local one), then move it back blamo - it's on the server. But just adding it initially won't work.
    Any thoughts???

i remember dealing with an issue with service pack upgrade when powershell settings are enforced via GPO.
i think it was an upgrade from SP1 Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2010 SP2. so, as a best practice it is good if you disable that GPO when you are performing Rollup update or Service pack upgrades...as while these upgrade, setup would run few scripts which are
remotesigned scripts...and there might be an impact if you enforce Powershell settings via GPO.

  • Outlook 2013 connection issue with exchange 2013

my exchange 2013 was upgrade from exchange 2010. after the upgrade (migration), i using outlook 2013 connect to exchange 2013. some very
    weird issues happened.
when i using auto discovery to create profile and connect to exchange will success. but when i manually create the profilewill failed. the following pic for your reference. (same account, same PC)
    please help, thanks lots!!!!

This is what changed in Exchange 2013. It uses RPC or HTTPs (Outlook Anywhere) and uses Server GUID to connect...
"As a result of these architectural changes, there have been some changes to client connectivity. First, RPC is no longer a supported direct access protocol. This means that all Outlook connectivity must take place using RPC over HTTP (also known as
Outlook Anywhere). At first glance, this may seem like a limitation, but it actually has some added benefits. The most obvious benefit is that there is no need to have the RPC client access service on the Client Access server. This results in the reduction
of two namespaces that would normally be required for a site-resilient solution. In addition, there is no longer any requirement to provide affinity for the RPC client access service.
Second, Outlook clients no longer connect to a server FQDN as they have done in all previous versions of Exchange. Outlook uses Autodiscover to create a new connection point comprised of mailbox GUID, @ symbol, and the domain portion of the user’s primary
SMTP address. This simple change results in a near elimination of the unwelcome message of “Your administrator has made a change to your mailbox. Please restart.” Only Outlook 2007 and higher versions are supported with Exchange 2013."

  • Issue with Exchange 2007 SP3/Outlook 2010 User account Auto accepting Appointments

    0
    Hi
I have an issue with 2 users who's appointments are being Auto-accepted or Auto Declined. As these are User Mailboxes there is no resource scheduling set on these. I've also checked for delegates (none), Rules (including running outlook.exe /cleanrules).
If I send the user some test appointments when they are not logged into Outlook, the appointments are not processed. If the user logs in through OWA then the appointments are not processed. When the user logs into Outlook 2010 (using Mapi) the appointments
are processed within 5-10 minutes. I started to think it may be a PC issue, something buried in the registry. But I give myself full access to the account and logged in from my machine using Outlook 2010, the appointments are auto processed, again, within
    5- 10 minutes .
Lots of stuff on the internet all pointing to Resource scheduling, delegates or Rules but I have now discounted all of these.
If I check the users MailboxCalendarSettings, AutomateProcessing is set to AutoUpdate and not AutoAccept. The Outlook Client has all settings in Resource Scheduling unticked.
    Thanks
    Darran

    Hi Darran,
If there is no delegate configured, no rules and calendar processing is also set properly, please switch Outlook to Online mode to check whether the issue persists. Also close Outlook and receive test meeting request directly in OWA to double check the mailbox
would not automatically process the meeting in OWA.
If the issue happens in Outlook Online mode but not continues in OWA, please restart Outlook in safe mode or change a new computer with fresh Outlook 2010 to have a try.

    OWA works
I set a correct external URL for VD
So i thought maybe Exchange has a restriction because there are 14 clients who are trying to connect with the same user on Exchange.
I set a new Throttling Policy and assigned it to the specific user, still didnt work. My settings in Outlook should be ok because some other users can connect!
Other companies also connect with Exchange Anywhere, they can connect with different users (Mailboxes)  so connection should be all right.
Do you guys have any ideas? Thanks

    Hi,
Firstly, I’d like to explain, we can block Outlook Anywhere for specific users in Exchange 2010:
    Get-CASMailbox -Identity <MailboxIdParameter> -mapiblockoutlookrpchttp $true
Thus, we can check the property of the 5 problematic users.
Additionally, the error 64 is very generic and there can be multiple reasons which would translate to this error code. The most common one is when the backend server is performing a dirty TCP connection reset.
For more information, you can refer to the following information:

  • Droid Razr Maxx/Issues with Exchange Sync and Texting

I have a Droid Razr Maxx.  Since the KitKat update to 4.4 in May 2014, my Exchange email account will not sync. My Comcast account does.    If I power cycle the phone, it will sync the Exchange account for a short time until I receive the following error message:  'couldn't open connection to server due to sec..."  When I touch the error message, it just goes away.  If there is more of the error message, I'm unable to see it.  I have removed the Exchange account and added it back in three times.  My IT department indicates they have not made any changes to the security levels, but have fielded several questions from other Android users with the KitKat update.  My text messaging service also stopped.  I've been reviewing all forums and tried different things, but to no avail.  I went to the Verizon store, who just said that there have been 'lots' of complaints about KitKat and that I should buy a different phone.  This $200+ phone is only 7 months old.  Please help!!

After deleting and adding my Corporate account, visiting the local Verizon store several times, visiting my IT department, and now wiping the phone and re installing all software, the Corporate email still only syncs when I power cycle the phone.  We are a BYOD company which means every other phone works with the Exchange account.  My phone also worked up until the KitKat update in May 2014. The only recommendation I have received from Verizon is to replace my 8 month old Motorola Razr Maxx with a entirely different phone at full price. The tech I spoke with at Verizon made the statement that she has avoided updating to KitKat given all the customer issues she has had to deal with.
I'm in a technology field and understand when glitches occur, but also expect functionality issues to be addressed. I've been with both Verizon and Motorola for a long time, but very doubtful I will continue this relationship when contract time is up for renewal.  I'm carrying my iPad around to get the Corporate emails and the Razr Maxx has been relegated to just being a very expensive phone.

Could you please take it up as High Priority issue and suggest me.

    Hello,
If in G/L account master data, open line item is not checked, You can activate open line items management for G/L account.
If you don't use new GL, please run RFSEPA02 program with using SE38. If you use new G/L please refer OSS note 175960 "RFSEPA02/03 not supported as of Release 4.5A. What can I do? "
If your SAP version 603, you can run transaction FAGL_ACTIVATE_OP for activation open line items.
Otherwise, If you don't have to valuate foreign currency with open line item, you can valuate balance for G/L accounts.
I hope, I got your question correctly.

  • Help! iPad calendar sync issues with Exchange server

Hello, I've googled this issue and haven't come across with any definitive answer so I'll put it up here to see if anyone have any idea(s).
iPad 3G/Wifi working fine for over a month (firmware 3.2.1) synching with MS Exchange server (only Mail account on the device), over the weekend, calendar entries have disappeared. I've deleted the mail profile and reset it up again, here's what happens, email starts to pull down, same with contacts and Calendar entries, then while Calendar App is open on Month view I can see that the appointments are also being sync then after about a minute, all the entries will just disappear, if I wait a few more minutes, the appointments will start to repopulate again then disappear again after about a minute! Email and contacts are fine, just this Calendar issue.
More background data: User is using an iMac with Entourage 2008, his EA has full email rights to his mailbox and have his email profile on Outlook 2003, both are showing correct Calendar entries on desktop, have also checked the account on OWA and it looks fine there as well.
I'm guessing a corrupt calendar entry (possibly re-occuring appointment)... Does any one have any other thoughts?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks!!!

I have been having very similar issues to those described by Imola.  The calendar appears to try to load, and a few appointments may show up, but then they will all (or almost all) dissapear.  My company uses Exchange 2003.
Occassionally, deleting a large attachement has helped.  But not always.  Several times in the past, I have exported all my calendar entries as a .csv file, deleted all the calendar entries in Outlook, and then re-imported the .csv file.  While this always works to re-populate my calendar, it also strips functionality (like recurring appointments).
This is very frustrating, and results in me havinging to rely on my Blackberry while traveling, when I would like to just trust the data in the iPad.  A web search clearly shows that many people have this issue, but I have not yet seen any direct responses from Apple.  I hope this is addressed soon.

    the below output.<o:p></o:p>
"Database" Mounted           Unknown Could not find registry value of Index Status for database {a8281541-35b3-4e9b-b124-4adfa7ebf2d1}.
                                                           <o:p></o:p>
I then look to the registry location below to find absolutely nothing in there! No keys, no reference, nothing!<o:p></o:p>
    \HLM\Software\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v15\Search\IndexStatus\<o:p></o:p>
I cannot seem to resolve the search / indexing issues at all. The server is NOT a part of a DAG and issues extend to all 4 databases.<o:p></o:p>
I also am having issues that might be related when trying to move mailboxes to a different databases (same server). "I did try restarting the
    replication service"<o:p></o:p>
The RPC call failed with result 'StorageTransientError'<o:p></o:p>
Any help in the right direction would be appreciated. I have had this issues since CU6.<o:p></o:p>
    Thank you!<o:p></o:p>

    Hi,
Well, we can try to recreate those registry entries.
Since your server is not a member of DAG, then the registry key should be like this:
    {79853a57-6c9e-46a2-a5e3-70db036754f1} : 1,1,4294967297,2013-07-16 00:33:17Z,0,
The initial {GUID} is the GUID of the database.
The double numeric values (1,1;) signify the state[s] of the CI
The first number in the series is the Index Status. The second number in the series is the error code.
    Index Status:
    Unknown = 0
    Healthy = 1
    Crawling =2
    Failed = 3
    Seeding = 4
    Failed And Suspended = 5
    Suspended = 6
    Disabled = 7
    Auto-Suspended = 8
    Healthy And Upgrading = 9
    Error Code:
    1 Success
    2 Internal Error
    3 Crawling Database
    4 DatabaseOffline
    5 MapiNetworkError
    6 Catalog Corruption
    7 Seeding Catalog
    8 Catalog Suspended
    9 Catalog Reseed
    10 Index Not Enabled
    11 Catalog Excluded
    12 Activation Preference skipped
    13 Lag Copy skipped
    14 Recovery Database Skipped
    15 Fast Error
    16 Service Not Running
    17 Index Timestamp too Old

  • Issues with exchange not working correctly

When I try to setup exchange on my phone it gives a error cannot find server

Nothing wrong with the account. It works fine for a solid week then just craps out, i.e., contacts and calendar freeze up, and the email wont show up. I've tried deleting and seeing if the freeze/no email issues persists and so far, the phone works fine. That leads me to believe it's the exchange that is the problem.
