Issues with scanner epson sx215 with os x 10.9.1

I have recently installed OS X 10.9.1.; since then my scanner Epson SX215 doesn't work anymore. The error message says that the scan softwar doesn't work with my OS X, but accoding to Epson this I have the correct driver software. Who can help me out?

Possibly it will work with Apple's Image Capture software. Look for this in the Applications folder.
Best of luck.

  • Issues with HP Designjet 110plus, HP Deskjet 9300 & Epson Stylus c63

I recently updated my office and bought an iMac and a MacBook, along with an AirPort Extreme. Since then I've been having issues with the following printers that I've been using for a while:
    HP DESIGNJET 110PLUS
    HP DESKJET 9300
    EPSON STYLUS C63
Basically from time to time the printers either don't want to print or print incomplete stuff, also for some reason I cannot see the Supply Levels from the computer (System Preferences). I tried both with the printers connected to the AirPort Extreme and directly connected to the computer.
After checking some stuff I read that Leopard already comes with the drivers for those printers (so it's not like I have to update drivers; they should be compatible with Leopard).
What could I do to fix these issues?

    Adrian,
Apple released an update on all the available HP drivers July 15 2008. I would recommend downloading and installing this so you have the most up-to-date drivers:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/hpprinterdriver11.html
After you have done that then go to Preferences, Print and Fax and then click the minus sign for each HP printer you have installed. Once you have removed the HP Printers you need to add them back in with the new drivers. Simply click the plus sign and add your printers back in. This should do the trick.

It has been not more than 10 days since i bought iphone 5s 32gb and the finger print scanner is not detecting the prints.what to do??is it an issue with the device or iOS??

    Standard practices:
Restart the device (power off completely, then back on) - retest.
Reset (hold sleep wake and home buttons until apple logo appears) - you can try this, but it is most useful when your device is frozen.
Restore to factory settings - retest.
Make an appointment at an Apple retail store genius bar if the above did not resolve the issue.

    ...for 0x81080101:
"ERROR - The shared restore point operation failed with error (0x81000101)
The creation of a shadow copy has timed out. Try again this operation."
If you receive the above error in your report, we have recently found a registry key which
contains the timeout value set by Microsoft for VSS and found that you can edit this to extend it.
To get to the registry key, open Regedit (Start > Run > Regedit) and browse to:
    "HKLM\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\SPP\\CreateTimeout".
    Change value to 1200000 (2*10*60*1000 = 20 mins).
The default for the timeout period is 10 mins so hopefully doubling this will give enough time to
    complete the snapshot.
If this isn't present, you'll need to manually enter the registry key. It's a DWORD 32-bit key.

    Scot Pichelman

    Hi Scot,
Sometimes a third party backup application will change the default VSS provider adding VSS writers which causes Windows Server Backup using an incorrect component in doing backup, that's why I suggest to delete it for a test. Anyway you can reinstall it
    after testing.
And as you said a high-load CPU could also be the cause of the issue so you may need to first rule hardware effective out.
If issue still exists, please try the steps below as well:
    1. Please check DCOM Server Process Launcher service is started.
    2. If not, try to change RPC service to run as SYSTEM account. To do this please modify the following key:
Note: Backup the key before edit incase it cause any issue.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\RpcSs\
Find "ObjectName" and change the value to LocalSystem.
Reboot to see if DCOM back to work and if Windows Server Backup starts working. If not, please provide the result if there is any new error occurs.
If DCOM still not work, please compare the content of the following key with a working server:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OLE
Edit if there is any difference and make sure you created a backup of the key before editing.

  • Issue with scanners beeping on over picking material code

    Hi ,
I have an issue with scanner beeping.User is working is Z tcode .
    The followings are related steps.
(1)If the user does over-picking the material code , an “information” window like below is displayed, however, no beep sound is produced.
Information. Material code, ABC!@#% already updated for Delivery 1ASEDFD.
(2)Since the user has heard no beep sound, the user is unaware of the over-picking and scans the next item.
(3)Then, in case of XP PC, a louder noise, a kind of buzzer is generated, while in with Windows 7 PC, a small noise, a kind of chime is made.
(4)With Windows 7 PC, due to the small sound, the user continues the next step, being unaware of the over-picking. This has a risk of causing errors at the shipment: eventually, it impacts customers.
The requirement is beep sound will be heard on over-picking also.
    Please suggest in this regard.
    Thanks,
    Harsh

    Hi Harshavarddan,
there is some example on forum for generating beep sound with the use of the OLE Objects:
    Try this code:
    TYPE-POOLS: ole2.
    DATA: return  TYPE i,
           sapinfo TYPE ole2_object.
    DATA: BEGIN OF command,
             command(12) TYPE c VALUE 'cmd /c echo ',
             hex07(1)    TYPE x VALUE '07',
           END OF command.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
CREATE OBJECT sapinfo 'SAPINFO' NO FLUSH.
CALL METHOD OF sapinfo 'EXEC' = return
         EXPORTING
         #1 = command
         #2 = 0.
    FREE sapinfo.

    Angelo.

  • Installation issue with Scanjet G4050 with Windows 8.1 64 bit

I have recently replaced aa  old PC with an HP Envy 23, operating system windows 8.1, 64bit. I am now trying to install my Scanjet G4050. Having downloaded the software HP Scanjet G4050 Photo Scanner Full Feature Software and Driver I am now trying to run it. Two hours after starting the install it is still at 'checking system' and has not progressed. This is the second attempt, having tried last night and had to stop after an hour with it still 'checking system'. I have (temporarily) switched off antivirus/firewalls in case they were an issue. I had no issues with this installation in the past on Vista.
Any ideas what to try next?

The software and driver installation completed without any errors (without the scanner connected). But when I connect the scanner into the USB port and run the Capture On Touch software, it always comes up with a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library error - Program C:\Program Files\Canon Electronics\P215\TouchDR.exe abnormal program termination.
I tried every possible troubleshooting approaches I could Google online including (1) doing running sfc /scannow (which found no integrity or corruption issues with my Win 8.1 system, (2) did a clean reboot disabling everything except the CaptureOn Touch software and it still comes up with the same error, (3) installing Visual C++ runtime library distributables for 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 but still the error pops up. So basically, now I can't use this great little portable scanner with my great little transformer tablet/notebook.
I am wondering whether anyone else have come across a similar problem of getting this scanner to work on a 32-bit Win 8.1 system? Would greatly appreciate any advise.

    Hi:
I would try the Vista audio driver from your notebook's support and driver page.
the dv6000 model series is not supported by HP for W7 let alone W8 or 8.1.

  • I'm having a lot of issues with firefox and cannot figure out how to get help. It began when I updated to 13. I get all kinds of ad popups, I cannot play one

I'm having a lot of issues with firefox and cannot figure out how to get help. It began when I updated to 13. I get all kinds of ad popups, I cannot play one game on FaceBook called Farm Town at all, and I keep getting an AVG popup about cookies that I cannot get rid of. These issues are causing me to use Chrome very often even though I like Fox better. I've searched and searched how to get help and cannot find anything. How does one get personal technical help?? These issues do not happen in Chrome at all. Thanks.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br /><br />

  • Book Module format issue with Blurb

I uploaded a book to Blurb with two separate 2 page spreads filled with one photo across the two pages. This first photo appears mismatched with the right side being slightly smaller than the left side. The second photo appears with properly matched sizes.
When I export the book as a PDF both images are cooreclty sized and aligned. Have tried my book creation & upload on windows 32 bit and windows 64 bit. Same results.
Is there any solution to this glitch or some sort of work around?

    trshaner wrote:
Essentially there is only one Blurb.icc file and its paper type agnostic.
No such thing really. Profiles must take paper into account. Like you, I have that swatch book and measured each. They are all over the map in terms of their measured values for paper and worse, OABs. One size doesn't fit all but can if you don't mind suboptimal to really poor results!
My guess is that the single Blurb.icc profile is actually the Blurb Standard paper profile.
It isn't even a blurb standard  paper profile, it's based on GRACoL which I'm fairly certainly isn't what they are producing on all those papers given the standards. What they are doing is supplying a profile for soft proofing that has no bearing on the output to make those who feel they kind of, sort of understand color management and want to soft proof feel better. If you owned an Epson printer and output to Luster paper, how would supplying a profile for that printer but based on Matt work out? Not well. This is akin to the silly photo lab, RGB workflow where you are given an output profile you can't use and told to send sRGB. Rather pointless but if it makes the user feel that by soft proofing they've done something useful, better than a sharp stick in the eye.
Based on sending the same images to differing vendors who produce books using Indigo (at least for the inside of the book), Blurb is far from best in class in my experience. And for B&W, on top of all the issues I've outlined, even the best shop is going to have issues with the Indigo screening which produces crossover in terms of color over the press sheet. That alone is a problem unless HP has updated their screening as they have promised for some time. Dead nuts neutral is hard to do!

  • Photo Quality Issues with Pixma MG6220

I am frustrated.  The first photo printed from this printer was of poor quality.  It was very 'grainy' and 'noisey'.  I printed from the printer itself (put camera card into printer).  I then printed from Picasa, same problem, very poor quality.  It was then a couple of months before I attempted printing again.  I printed from PS Elements 11.  The quality was much improved but not what I expected from this printer.  I finally called tech support, after tweaking every setting I could find.  They essentially blamed my computer, wanted to reinstall the drivers and I need to buy new ink cartridges.  It's NOT my computer.  I'm curious as to why they think it's the drivers.  It very well could be bad cartridges.  The printer was purchased in December (six months ago).  I'm wondering why the photo software would make a difference.  I'm irritated that the people I spoke with seemed completely incurious as to what, exactlly, was wrong with the photos.  It would appear that no on else has had this issue.  The reviews for this printer were very good.  I can't imagine reviewing these images and stating that they are "excellent" as I have read from many reviews.  I'll be more than happy to attach scanned images for review (scanner works fine).  Thank you.

    Hi,
Check this for scanned images and originals for reference:
    http://flickr.com/gp/skital/Y9615F
(you can download full-res versions there as well - it's a bit hidden if you don't know flickr)
This was using Canon Glossy II photo paper and NOT Canon Ink. I was trying different replacement inks over the time and I had similar results.
I'm a little bit hesitant with spending more money on this printer, esp. that I had never have this kind of quality issues with my previous Canon printer (MP600) when using non canon inks - I had color issues but never grainess.
Well, I may try original inks again, but it breaks a deal for this printer.

  • Lightroom print issues with Espon Stylus Pro 4900

    I'm having a weird issue with my StylusPro 4900 + Mavericks/Lightroom
My prints keep coming out 1/3rd their normal size.
I spent the day troubleshooting and no luck
Using LR4 ad now CC LR + Installed all the updates.
Uninstalled old the old drivers and reinstalled new.
    Restarted several times.
Cleaned up the OSX stuff and more .
I have been using Epson's for over 10 years but have never run into an issue like this.
I'd appreciate any ideas or help!

Not hearing back about the details of your "success" with the Epson driver install, I can only assume that it really does not work correctly - as is the case with everyone else I've read about trying to use the 2200 under Snow Leopard.
The only work arounds are two, and neither is satisfactory:
    1. You can turn off Color management in the first photoshop print dialog and then select the color managed option in the second - this defaults to the printer's drivers instead of using those in photoshop. The result is not right - the colors and brightness are noticeably off - but it is "less unbearably horrible" than what you get if you try to print with the correct workflow: Photoshop manages colors in the first dialog and No color management selected in the second.
    2. There is a Gutenberg driver for the 2200 that theoretically could let you print without the Epson printer drivers. However, I have yet to encounter anyone who has gotten this to work properly so that it duplicates the color results formerly achieved with the Epson driver and photoshop managing colors under the earlier versions of the OS.
This is not a good thing. Many of us who rely on the Epson 2200 are not suddenly and without warning and with no word whatsoever from Epson... just plain SOL...
Epson should at least say something about this. Their statement could be "we will not support this printer under Snow Leopard" (terrible policy, but at least we could all go out and shop for new HP color printers...), "we are updating drivers for this (these?) printer(s) and will have them available shortly," or even "we are looking into this problem and will respond shortly."
Right now the silence is deafening. There isn't anything at the Epson site addressing this issue at all, and there is no way to follow up on it from the page addressing Snow Leopard compatibility.
    Poor show, Epson.

  • Colour Management issue With Leopard and PS CS3

    Hi Everyone,
Since I have installed Leopard I am having colour management issues with Photoshop CS3 and my Canon i9950 printer.
My screen is calibrated with a Spyder and I used to ask Photoshop (in 10.4.11) to manage colour when printing and used the Spyder profile. Everything came out as I saw it on screen.
Now in leopard when I do the same thing everything comes out too yellow on the print. If I ask Photoshop to let the printer manage the colour it is too red. If I use the default colour management (photoshop managing the colour and it choosing the colour space it is better, but still too yellow).
Photoshop gives the hint to turn off colour management in the printer but there is no option for this and it also said the same thing before of course (when it worked in 10.4.11).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

You need to use the correct printer profile for the paper you're using. If the printer didn't come with any pre-built profiles, check Canon's web site to see if they have any profiles available for your printer that you can download.
Printer profiles are very specific. You can't take take a profile for glossy Epson paper and expect it to work very well for Canon glossy paper.

  • Download issues with LR

    Hi
PLEASE READ my initial queries with this problem.  It seems as though the techs are not taking care in the answers by reading my previous correspondence.
    1. I am a subscriber to creative cloud.
    2. I have downloaded Creative cloud and have the app list. I have  NO problem with this - it is on my desktop and working.
    3. From the Creative cloud app list I have downloaded photoshop with NO problems as well.
    4. When downloading LR5 from the same Creative Cloud app list it fails after 42% - this is the problem (cannot complete download from Creative Cloud apps list )
    5. I have tried using Explorer and Firefox with same results (many times)
    6. My first response from support I was told to go to prodesign page and download from the trial link.
    7. The link from prodesign page does not work, and anyway i do not want a trial as I do not have a 'serial number' because I am a cloud subscriber and as far as is know no-one has given me a serial number for LR or the other programs I have downloaded through the app list.
    8. If there is a serial number for LR please let me have it and I will try and download from an Adobe page.
    9. Also there is a reference to 7 steps to follow when downloading.  I cannot find where these 7 steps are and if I have managed to get as far as downloading the CC apps and photoshop why should downloading LR be any different?
    10. The comment that my pc does not allow cookies - why would the other Adobe programs have no problem in downloading then?
    KGE

If there is pertinent information in your previous replies on the same subject then including links to those replies would be helpful for those of us who use e-mail to read and respond to the forums.  We cannot see that you have other threads on the same subject without going to the web version of the forums.  I am another Lightroom user like yourself, not someone from Adobe.
Your replies to previous messages, which I did go to the forums to look for, indicate the ProDesignTools webpages either are not visible to you or do not make sense to you.
There are seven steps, numbered 0 to 6, on the ProDesignTools webpage within the Very Important Instructions section also previously referred to.  Aside from perhaps some brief periods of server maintenance, which I have never personally experienced, the ProDesignTools webpages are available and do work, so if you cannot even get those pages to come up, it suggests you have issues with connectivity to things on the internet, perhaps due to an iffy connection, or perhaps due to a virus or malware scanner that isn't playing nice.  Why only LR is affected, is unclear.
Can you confirm if you can see the ProDesignTools pages, and if so, do you see the Very Important Instructions and steps 0 to 6, which involve setting an Adobe authorization cookie, so if you are following steps 0 to 6 and get an error from the Adobe download page that ProDesignTools eventually redirects to, then you might have cookies disabled.  Of course if you can't even see the ProDesignTools pages, then you're getting stopped before anything to do with cookies is occurring.  Being more specific and detailed about what you're doing and what errors or unexpected conditions happen would help the rest of us not be confused as to what your situation is and not give confusing answers.
However, you are correct that the ProDesignTools trial is the serial-number version, which is different than the Cloud version, or at least that is my experience.  A reason to try the serial-number version would be to see if LR installs for you, in case the 42% that the Cloud installer is stopping at is really a preliminary install step rather than a download step and maybe the serial-number version is easier to see error messages from.  Some times screenshots of your error situation can be helpful.
Another place to get the LR serial-number version, would be the Adobe updates page:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updateswhich would also be the most up-to-date version, LR 5.4, rather than LR 5.0 that the trial might still be.
If the serial number version of LR installs from either of the above locations, then before trying the Cloud version of LR, again, you'd want to uninstall the serial-number version, and log out of or quit the CC Desktop app, then restart it, so it'll rescan what apps are installed or not.

  • Strange Printing Issue With New HP & Pages

    Hello!
I have a very strange printing issue with a new HP printer. I have written pages documents heavy in Texts which are located within tables. The documents print fine on a Cannon and Epson printer and look great but when I print the document on my new HP Laserjet Pro 400 Colour M451nw some of the text on some rows come out of the printer looking like they are bold / slightly fuzzy. This only happens with some of the rows of text, not all of them. The font is the same in every row with the same format.
You can see this in the attached image. The first line (Thanks very much) has printed correctly but the subsequent lines look bold / slightly fuzzy.
After a lot of testing the only way I can resolve this is if I copy the content into a new pages document and only then it will print and look ok with the HP printer.
This must be a problem within my origional document. I would simply copy and paste everything into a new document however this would take a very, very long time (over 5 years of work producing teaching materials and over 100 documents and thousands of tables and formatting that cannot be copied and pasted).
Also, on other printers you can see the lines seperating each row of the table. These lines are not visible on the HP print outs, even when the table is copied into a new document.
Has anyone come accross an issue like this before? Is there a way I can fix this without creating a new document? Do I need to get a new another new printer (the 4th printer this week!)?
Any advise, wise words would be greatly apprechiated!
    Thanks!

Sorry, Fruhulda. After 4 hours on the phone with Apple care they are taking this issue further themselves. It seems to be a problem with our pages document and the compatibility with certain drivers. We have still not gotton to the bottom of it and Apple are going to get back to me when they have an answer.
We also worked out that the issue only happens when you print via Ethrenet & USB. Printing via Wifi is ok and there are no quality issues.
    Very Strange!

    Hi,
I have an issue with scanners beeping. I have done everything as suggested in SAP Note 371838 and i am successfull in getting the no of beeps on the SAP Screen but the issue is the scanner is not beeping.
The model of the scanner is Intermec CK3. I would like to know will there be any settings that we need to do to map the no of beeps on SAP Screen to the beeps from scanner.
    Thanks in Advance.
