Item Based Interest on Remaining Balance of Invoice after Payment Posted

We are doing item based interest but the when a payment is posted against the invoice the interest is calculated against the entire invoice amount.  Where do I need to check to get the interest to be calculated against the remaining balance.
Edited by: Tunzyaan Jennings on Feb 15, 2012 10:16 PM

HI
Pls try to select the check box Only calculate interest on debit items in the same path
Indicator which means that, in principle, interest is only calculated on debit entries.
Otherwise, interest would also be charged to credit items. The credit item would be treated as a debit item; in particular, the same interest rate is applied to both.  Reason:  If the credit memo is not cleared right away by the invoice, but cleared later, both the invoice and credit memo are "overdue" and consequently balance out in terms of interest.
It will solve your requirement

  • Custom invoice clearing & payment posting

    Hi all,
we are not recieving BAI2 file for lockbox from bank but we have an external software which will identify SAP customer invoices & corresponding payment.
Now how can we post this payment as we do nor have BAI2 file. I think that some custom program will be required for cash posting & clearing but I am not sure how to create it.
    Please help..
    Nik

Usually you can reset or reset & reverse at a time.
But for some documents there will be forex gain/loss line items which will happen automatically when  a open line document cleared with another document.
    e.g. Line item 1 :- 500 Cr balance in a vendor account.
When you done the payment to this vendor through F-53, system also analyze the valuation differences if any and post.
    so these are generated automatically
While reset this document you can't avoid reversing.
May this is the issue you are also facing.
you cant do anything for this.

  • Missing item assignment for "Minority interest in the balance sheet"

    Dear Experts,
We unable to perform "Consolidation of investment" and "Validation of Consolidation data" due to our 2 newly created ECCS Accounts not properly assigned. Can any experts guide me how to mapped it? Your fast action is very much appreciated.
    Regards/Lisa

    Dear Dan Sullivan,
I have created 2 news ECCS Accounts named as SHARE CAPITAL & SHARE PREMIUM. And i do not know how to eliminate these 2 new ECCS accounts with INVESTMENT IN SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES.
When we performing CONSOLIDATION OF INVESTMENT, the error message showed "Missing Item assignment for Minority Interest in the Balance Sheet" and "No Items are assigned to the items (Newly created ECCS Account)".
Further when we run VALIDATION OF TOTALS DATA, the error message showed "Total Assets is not equal to Total Liabilities + Equity" in Step 002.

  • Interest on Overdue Balances

    HI,
When we run a customer open item analysis we see that there looks to be interest for overdue balances showing on the report. It doesn't appear to be assigning the interst to the customer, but I wanted to see why this was here and if we have the ability to assing interest to balances. And also where you would turn this on and off in the system or for a customer.
Also on this report, S_ALR_87012178, there are a lot of additional fields that are not necessary and when we print it's not fitting to the page. We would like to hide some of the extra fields such as the name and content fields. We won't use the Export credit insurance area either.
In addition, on the bottom row of columns it says Itm Net Date, could this be changed to say Itm Due Date
    Thanks
    Sunitha

    Sunitha,
    -  Setup for Customer Interest calculation is based on parameters entered in customer master in Company Code data, Account Management tab under Interest Calculation section
    -  You have to run interest calculation and posting transactions for interest to be actually posted to customer accounts
Unfortunately, there is limited format change you can do on S_ALR_87012178. However,
    -  You can control what information is displayed in the report by selecting appropriate summation level from 0 (most information) to 6 (least information)
    -  The columns Itm Net Date refer to Document Line Item Number, and Net Date corresponding to the date when the Net payment is due. This report doesn't have capability to change column titles

    Hi Garg,
In this case, one of the option  is that you can do the partial clearing or residual clearing, lets say Residual clearing, in this case system will clear the original items and open new item 700 as payable.
You can clear credit memo 1800 against two invoices 1500 and 1000, out of 1000 you need take  300 and for clearing  (1000-300=-700) and -700 will be your payable amount, go to F-44.
Amount 700 will be new payable amount:

    Dear All,
i try to change one Balance Sheet account to P&L Account. However i failed changing the account.
it pops up the error Message no FH017.
For this error, i have already untick the Open Item Management
Can anyone help me on this? Very appreciated on this!
    Cheers
    Jill

Aslo see help on open Item managed field by pressing f1
    Indicator: Open Item Management?
Determines that open items are managed for this account.
    Use
Items posted to accounts managed on an open item basis are marked as open or cleared. The balance of these accounts is always equal to the balance of the open items.
    Procedure
Set up accounts with open item management if offsetting entries are to be assigned to the postings made to these accounts. Postings to these accounts represent incomplete transactions.
    Example:
A goods receipt/invoice receipt (GR/IR) clearing account should be managed on an open item basis so that you can check at any time whether invoices have been received for the goods received for an order.
Set up accounts without open item management if no offsetting entry is to be made against a posting to this account.
    Examples
Accounts that are managed on an open item basis include:
    Clearing accounts:
    Bank clearing account
    Payroll clearing account
    Cash discount clearing account
    GR/IR clearing account
Accounts that are not managed on an open item basis:
    Bank accounts
    Tax accounts
    Raw material accounts
Reconciliation accountsThese are managed implicitly using the subledger open item function.Profit and loss accounts
Materials Management (MM) accounts posted with a posting key that has account type 'M'

  • Show customer's remaining balance in PLD report?

    Dear Experts,
I'm created the A/R invoice in PLD report and I have no idea how to bring the remaining balance on that customer to the bottom of this report?
    - I would like them to show the list of all remaining balance of that specific customer
    - It may show as 'date', 'inv number', 'amount' in each separate line
    - And it is even better if it could sum the total amount of the current invoice and all remaining balance.
Your help would be very much appreciated,  Thank you very much.

    Hi Mickey......
You can either go for the Customised Report for BP wise Balance report or you can refer SAP's Standard Aging Report.
It is in Financial Reports> Accounting> Aging--> Customer Receivable/Vendor Liability Aging.........

  • Change Item Quantity in the Billing Document ( Proforma Invoice )

    Hi,
There is a requirement from the client to change the quantity at item level in the billing document ( Order based Proforma Invoice ) after it is saved.
As SAP does not allow to change in the VF02 transaction, Please let me how to change quantity at the item level of the billing document.
Please let us know if we need to use any user exit or any other system modification.
    Regards
    V R Reddy

    Hi Venkat Rama Reddy
First of all Welcome to SDN forum
Now coming to your query , your requirement cannot be fulfilled  as standard SAP doesn't .Because ,First of all at billing level you cant change the item quantity , then in VF02 it is not possible. But if your clients requirement is to change the item quantity in VF02 , then first of all do VF11->VL09->VL02N and here you can change the picking quantity and then do the billing ,as once if you change the picking quantity then at billing item  level also the item quantity will change
Check with the following user-exit  USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE. Here with the help of the Technical consultant include the requirement that after saving the billing document we can change the item quantity
But it is not suggestible to change the item quantity at billing level . As once you save the billing document , an accounting document will be getting created.

  • AR:  Interest on overdue balances

    Hi Gurus
How should one set up interest for debtors, so that it takes the payment terms into account.  I tried everything but it seems SAP calculates interest on outstanding items ignoring the payment terms.  If I create an invoice with yesterday date and I run the interest program today, it will charge interest for one day, although the customers'  payment terms are 30 days after statement.
Can someone help with this one.

    Hi Theo,
For the interest calculation indicator that you have given in the customer master check the following configuration.
Financial Accounting (New)- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable-Business Transactions-Interest Calculation-Interest Calculation Global Settings-Prepare Item Interest Calculation. Check if the Ref. Date is 1 (Value date (Baseline date). I think this has been maintained as 3 (posting date). This tells the system from what date interest has to be calculated.

  • OPEN ITEMS based on  GL wise

    Hi Frenz,
can any body help me in finding the standard BAPI or Function module to fetch the OPEN ITEMS based on General Ledger Acc.
    Thanks,
    Priya

Please check the below function modules:-
BAPI_GL_ACC_GETBALANCE         Closing balance of G/L account for chosen year
BAPI_GL_ACC_GETCURRENTBALANCE  Closing balance of G/L account for current year
BAPI_GL_ACC_GETPERIODBALANCES  Posting period balances for each G/L account
Otherwise you can also code your logic in the same way as in BAPI_AR_ACC_GETOPENITEMS function module.

    Hi experts -
I am a developer and coding a program where I need to determine a couple things to filter my results.
    (1) If a Purchase Order line item has an invoice, then where (tables/fields) do I determine the amount remaining to be invoiced?  If there is an amount remaining then I don't want in my report.
    (2) If a Purchase Order line item has a goods receipt, then where (tables/fields) do I determine if there are any open receipts?
    (3) How do I determine if a purchase order line item has any unposted invoices in queue?
    (4) Table/Field - to determine Delivery Start Date
Table/Field - to determine Delivery End Date
Table/Field - to determine Original Purchase order line item value
Table/Field - to determine Current Purchase order line item value
    Many many thanks!
    Mark

    Hi
Use Table EKBE, query on the PO doc no. U will get the records for GR and IR for the PO.
Check the qty (MENGE) with the PO qty and Amount (DMBTR) with the amount in PO.
