Item category group not exist in CRM

Hi all,
I u2018m getting an error item category group not exist in CRM that item category group is in R/3
So my question is weather I have to create that item category group in CRM or I have to download that one from r/3.
If I create in CRM how to link the R/3 item category group to CRM one.
Regards
Rami

There is definitely no exchange of neither transaction types nor item categories between an erp and a crm system. Also the dependent object like the organisational data profile or the partner profile are not exchanged.
Instead for those transactions that are exchanged you need to do the customizing the same way in both systems, ERP and CRM.

  • Item category is not determined in CRM order

    Hi Friends,
    Our requirement is as follows
We have 1 sales org like Z111 and 2 distribution channels like dist chan Z1 and Z2, we want a material say for eg "material A" should be 3rd party item by assigning item category grp "BANS" in sales org  Z111 and dist chan Z1. The same material i.e, "material A" should be standard item by assigning "NORM" in sales org  Z111 and dist chan Z2.
We have done the above scnario in CRM system ( we have assigned BANS for material A in sales org  Z111 and dist chan Z1 and NORM for the same material in sales org  Z111 and dist chan Z2.
But problem is when I create order for sales org  Z111 and dist chan Z1 in CRM, the item category is determined as TAN instead TAS. Item category determination is already existing the CRM system.
This scenario is working fine in my back end system i.e, R/3 but it is not wrking in CRM.
Can anyone give me some clue about this.
    Thanks in advance
    JM

    Hi JM
First check in your CRM system if the material in extended to both the distribution channels.
    Tcode: COMMPR01
Sale org tab should have entry for dist chan Z1 and Z2.
Click on Z1 and maintain iten cat grp : BANS
Click on Z2 and maintain iten cat grp : NORM
Now check your item category determination. It should have following 2 entries:
IMG > CRM > transactions > basic settings > define item category determination
    transaction type: ZORD
    item category group: BANS
    item category: TAS
    transaction type: ZORD
    item category group: NORM
    item category: TAN
    hope this helps

  • How to use item category group for pricing?

    Hi,
how can I use the item category group to carry out pricing?
I want to determine a condition type for item category group DIEN only and no other.
    Thanks for help!
    Florian

    Hi Florian Preuss,
You should follow the next steps:
    1. Check if the item category group field exist in the pricing catalog to choose it as a field in a table condition, if it doesn't exist (I don't believe that), you should contact to a technical person (ABAP) to add it to the structure KOMPAZ.
    2. Create a condition table with this field (item category group) and others that you need to determine the condition.
    3. Create an access sequence with this condition table.
    4. Create a condition type and assign it the access sequence.
    5. Add the condition to pricing procedure.
    6.. Enjoy it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mariano.

  • Missing Item Category Group data in Material SD data in CRM

    Hi crm experts,
Please help us. We are trying to identify what's the rootcause of the problem we experienced in CRM regarding the Item category group. We are maintaining material master in ECC and it will be replicated in CRM via middleware. The data item category group is properly maintained in ECC but when we checked in CRM, only 3 of the sales areas have it.
    Sales Area 1 - YES
    Sales Area 2 - NO
    Sales Area 3 - YES
    Sales Area 4 - YES
So we will do a request load for the data to show also on Sales Area 2.
Item category group were maintained in the ff tables:
    ECC table TPTM
    CRM table CRMV_ITEM_CAT_GR
Can you please let us know how we can pin point this problem so that this will not happen again? We want to apply a permanent solution if there is. Hoping for your kind assistance. Thanks!
    Best regards,
    Mike

    hi
    General item category group
Materials grouping that helps the system to determine item categories during sales document processing.
*If a group is configured specific to distribution channel, it has priority if the corresponding activity is distribution channel-dependent
Item category group from material master
A grouping of materials that the system uses to determine item categories during the processing of sales documents.
the difference between the two lies in the specificity to the distribution channel

  • Item Category Group 0001 not available

    Hi,
We need to use Item Category Group 0001 - Make-to-order in CRM 2007. This group is not available as of CRM 2007. The list starts with 0002 - Config.at Mat.Level.
Is it a standard setting or only our CRM 2007 instance is missing this?
If it is a standard arrangement, do we need to maintain a Z Item category group for Make to order products?
    Kindly resolve the confusion!!
    Thanks,
    Sharad

    Hi,
The item category group 0001 is missing.I guess then you need to create a new type on your own.

  • Can we download  item categories & item category groups from R/3 to CRM

    Hi,
Can we download  item categories & item category groups from R/3 to CRM ? If yes pl share the adaptor object name.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    PV

    Hi Shanthala Kudva,
    Thanks for the reply.
My question is before downloading of Materails, can we download item categories( for Sales transaction) and Item category groups to CRM with out maintaining these entries manually?
Eg: R/3 has maintained item category ZTAN , I need to download this entry to CRM by using Middleware adaptor object.Same for the item category group also.

  • Error in CRM WEB UI : Item category could not be determined.

    Hi,
I am trying to create Service Confirmation. I got an error sayin for line item 20: Item category could not be determined. Conversion Factors are invalid.
Can you please tell me, when such type of error comes?
Do we need to check any configuration for this?
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

    Hi Sandeep,
Such type of errors generally comes when the customizations are not maintained properly in the system. Every One Order transaction has a Transaction Type and one or more Item Categories associated to it. And in the Item Category determination you need to associate all the Item Categories and the Transaction Type.
In this case, it looks like the Item Category is not properly configured. And also the Item Category Determination is not happening properly.
The best way to trouble shoot this kind of error is to get in touch with the Functional Consultant who has configured the Transaction. Alternatively, you cal also have a look at the standard transactions which are delivered by SAP to have a feel of all the places where there might be potential errors.
You can check this in the IMG Customization. Refer to this link for a complete detail: [Business Transaction|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm70/helpdata/en/92/8269126d1547578aab640f097de32c/frameset.htm]
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Item category group in SAP CRM

What is Item category Group and what does it signify? How is it different from Product Category?

    Hi Chiatra .H
    Item category group
The item category group is a field stored in the product master. Within transactions at item level, the appropriate item category should be automatically determined
by the system when entering a product. For this to work, you need to make settings for item category
    determination.
    Product Category
A grouping together of products from your product master data, in a structured hierarchy Your structure and organize your product catalog using catalog areas and subareas, which you then arrange in a hierarchy. You assign products to these areas and subareas.
You use product catalogs to group together products to present them in the Web shop, Interaction Center, or in other forms of media..
I think Its solve your doudt
Please let me know if u have any questions

  • Error : Item Category could not created.

    Hello SAP Masters,
While creating a "sales process" in SAP CRM I've got the following error
    "Item Category could not created"
Now let me tel you what exactly I've done, I have defined a "Sales Process" Type transaction called "Ysal" and by copying the slandered Item Category "Tan" I've created "ZTAN" , and for the Item category group and the Item Category Usage I've created "ZItem Group" and "ZItem usage".
Now in the Item Category determination I've filled up
    Transaction Type = Ysal
Item Cat. Group = ZItem Group
Item Cat Usage = Zitem Usage
    Main Item Cat. = Ztan
    and under Item Category determination
    Item Category = ZTAN
after this I've created A product Master and a ,material where I've assigned Item Category Group, and the product master.
Now Please explain why I've got this error, as I've maintained the determination properly so in my view during transaction creation Item Category should be determined automatically.
One more thing I am confused about "Higher Level Item Category" and "Lower Level Item Category" please explain.
    Thanks and Regards
    Rahul

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply, as per your guidance left  the "Item Category" field blank, and also the "Main Item Category" as blank and selected my "ZTAN" in Item category.
After that It worked, and the Item Category perfectly determined.
But there is error for "ATP"  not checked. Can you please explain. Also please explain what is "Main Item Category".
As you have said the higher level category is for main product, and lower level category is for dependent product like free product, then if there is scenario where no free product , in that case what should be done?
    Thanks and Regards
    Rahul

  • Use of Item Category Group

    Hello All
can any one explain the functional use of Item category group maintained in CRM material master under basic data tab and also under sales and distribution tab.
what is the difference between two views and what happens if dont have value at Sales and distribution level.
    Regards
    Phani

    Hi Phani,
    1. Item category Group is just a key which comes from the Product master and helps in the item category determination.
Item category group in the Material Tab, is a general Item category Group valid for all sales areas.
Whereas the one maintained in the Sales and distribution tab becomes specific to that particular sales area.
For eg: To a Product HT-1011 u have assigned two sales areas say A and B
In the Material tab, we assign item category group NORM
In the Sales and Distribution tab, for sales area A , we assign item category group ZORM.
In the item category determination the following settings are maintained:
    Assumption transaction type is TA.
    Transaction Type: TA
    Item category Group : NORM
    Item category: TAN
    Transaction Type: TA
    Item category Group : ZORM
    Item category: TANN
Now in the sales order if u enter product HT-1011 and choose sales area A, TANN will get determined, if u choose B TAN will get determined.
It is not mandatory to put the item category group. It onlu helps in the item category determination. In case u have not assigned any item category group, it will look for a item category dtermination entry something like:
    Transaction Type: TA
    Item category Group :
    Item category: TAN
    Wish this helps.

  • Product category does not exist in logical system

    Hello Experts,
Need help in understanding product category change behaviour.
    Shopping cart created and approved.
    PO created and approved.
Now PO change version created by changing product category.
Please enlighten me whether this change is really allowed on business perspective and SAP perspective.
So far we been told that there is business case to justify this change.
If allowed by SAP, then how do we solve the problem of error occuring in workflow "product category does not exist in logical system XXXX".
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

    Hi
I dont have  a system right now to check
1.are you ordering the item from external catalog? ( any  mapping between catalog product category to SAP product category )?
    2. after approved PO created.
    3. Now BUYER could change the product category again?
    4. why the BUYER takes push ups for REQUESTER . Let Buyer cancel the PO and ask requester to create a PO.
What is the business process existing in your business ?
Since product category determines purchase group and every thing like gl account etc..
Can you recreate the same issue in development box?
Note 1466155 - GL account not re-determined on change of product categorySymptom
You have an SRM PO with items having multiple account assignment. Go to the PO item overview OR to the item basic data tab and change the product category. However, this does not trigger a new GL account determination for the accounting lines.
Note 1407962 - Category is editable when contract is assigned in PO item
    Symptom
When ever a Contract item (Free text or Product Category) is assigned to a Purchase order free text line item, The category modification is not allowed.  This is because the product category is always copied from the contract item and overrides the Category for Purchase Order Item. It is confusing for the user as the category is editable and can't be modified.
SAP has different different behaviors . Kindly tell us what type you belongs too...

  • Missing Item Category Group in Sales Area data

    Hi,
Can you please help us. We cannot load some materials to our product catalog because of missing item category group in our sales area in crm. Can you please let us know why this happens? I know that this can be fix by doing request load but what might be the possible rootcause of this problem? Let us know if we need to check something. Thanks!
    Regards,
    Mike

Any such missing configuration can not be dealt with technical manipulations. The easiest and right way is to (middleware) download or maintain all the required configuration settings.
The possible root cause? Most probably the configuration in the source system (ECC) has changed and not all of them are in place in the CRM system. Check and run the delta / full downloads as appropriate.

  • Replicating materials. Item category group is empty.

I am loading material from R/3 to product in the CRM.
    I am use BDOC MATERIAL.
I see that field 'Item category group' in the product in CRM is empty, but material in the R/3 system is filled.
    Anybody ideas?

    Hi Denis,
Make sure the required item category groups are manually entered in the CRM table CRMV_ITEM_CAT_GR. If a specific item category group is missing in this table, then during the material download this field remain empty.
Maintain the required entry and then download the MATERIAL again
Do not forget to reward if helps
