Item Type management

Do you know of any guidelines / best practices regarding management of hundreds of Item Types in an Oracle Workflow instance?
Is there any other organisation that can be applied on top of the trivial Item Type / Processes hierarchy?

We are looking to set up Oracle Portal 9.0.2 as an enterprise document management/repository (potentially with built in workflow for document routing/approval). Does anyone have experience with BKM classifications and/or category schemas for both user/groups and documents/items?

  • Change RPM Item Type after Item creation

    There is a requirement where RPM Item Type needs to be changed for an Item after it is created.
    Using the Override in SPRO we can enable field for change. But it does not really change all Decision points etc. I think it would not happen since ITem type drives everything once the item is created.
    Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Also, any other alternatives for this requirement besides starting all over again to create the Item?

    1 - Map the permitted item types in the path: SAP Portfolio and Project Management > Portfolio Management > Global Customizing > Portfolio-Independent Settings > Define Portfolio Item Types
    Select an item type, a decision point and then set the permitted item types for switch to.
    2 - Make settings for process flow in the path: SAP Portfolio and Project Management > Portfolio Management > Global Customizing > Portfolio-Independent Settings > Process Flow for Items > Make Settings for the status mapping for itens
    3 - In the portfolio item click in the "Change Process" yellow button.
    3.1 Chosse the item type
    3.2 Select "Delete previous decision points"
    3.3 Save

  • Single work item view containing all different work item types

    Hello,
    I've been trying to create a view which should contain all different work item types that are assigned to "me" and not closed. I've created a type projection and the view itself and it displays all work items. The problem I've got is that I can't set a critera
    that only shows items that aren't closed as all work item types have their own statuses instead of one common work item status.
    Does anyone any ideas around how to solve this?

    I can not justifiy to my clients to purchase an application from 3k to offer something that should be trivial in an application such as service manager. Furthermore, i need sort all my active work items (IR, SR and MA) in accordance with the target date
    calculated by SLO.
    The WorkItem class has a relathionship to the type SLA Information, but type 1 to many. Anyway I could create a view that displays work items and DisplayName field from SLA (basead on first row in the relationship). However I could not display more fields.
    If I  could display TargetEndDate and Status from SLA Information, it would be a reasonable solution for my client.

  • A/P Credit Memo (Item Type) not to deduct quantity in inventory

    Hi,
    1. I purchased an item > supplier gave me invoice> I key in A/P Invoice (Item Type)
    2. Found out item was overpriced
    3. Supplier gave me Credit Note to adjust the price
    How do I key in this credit note via A/P Credit Memo? To my understanding if I key in the a/p credit memo (item type), my inventory quantity will be deducted as well.

    Because the item is over priced, it means that my inventory gl is over stated. When I get the supplier's CN, I will have to reduce the inventory gl. When I create a Service Type A/P Credit Memo I must choose inventory gl. But this will create another problem - Inventory Audit Report balance will not tally with Inventory gl balance (because i didn't reduce the item price in the first place). To solve this is to do a Inventory Revaluation.

  • NF item type não definido após implementar xml 3.1

    Após aplicarmos as notas do xml 3.1 mais as notas do FCI o nf item type ficou em branco para uma nota de entrada de exportação.
    Com isso o CFOP também não foi definido automaticamente por se tratar de um campo chave na tabela de CFOP.
    Alguém teve este problema e conseguiu alguma solução ?

    Hi Chandra,
    In some older version this was possible. This was changed as this is the stock account to avoid usage of incorrect account and valuation report issues.
    If you want a specific stock account for the item change you can define that on the item master data. Set it to Item Level and then change the GL account.

    (1)    Adobe Type Manager (ATM) is not compatible with any version of Windows beyond Windows XP (32-bit, only). Attempting to install ATM on any newer version of Windows may actually disable Window's capability of rendering Type 1 and OpenType CFF fonts, requiring a reinstallation of Windows.
    (2)    There is no need to use ATM to install any fonts under Windows.
    (3)    The file name ._DIN-bold is indicative of a MacOS font. These fonts cannot be installed on Windows systems.

    Adobe Type Manager absolutely cannot be installed on Windows 7. In fact, even attempting to install it may corrupt your operating system installation and its ability to properly render Type 1 and OpenType CFF fonts. The last version of Windows for which ATM was at all compatible was Windows XP, 32-bit only!
    Adobe Type Manager is not at all necessary to install fonts, even Type 1 fonts, on Windows 7 systems. Right click on the font file for TrueType of OpenType CFF fonts or the .PFM file for Type 1 fonts and select the Install option.
    The font file you are trying to install is for MacOS. It cannot be installed on Windows.

    Other than writing a BI or other custom report, you could do it in multiple steps:
    Run report REAVAR01 for the Line Item Type in question (as the only parameter)
    This will list the Variant Program/s that use the line item type.
    Then for each Variant you can do a "Where used" to see which Rates the Variant (hence the line item type) is used in.

    In you PLD, In repetitive area, you might have linked the fields like Item name, Item Description, and so on. In these fields one of the field will be Total for line items.  Am i right?
    If it is so, then in repetitive area footer, Create one Formula field and give formula PageSum("Field_025") (in your case)
    Ie., Field_201 = PageSum("Field_025")
    Field_025 - contains the Line Total of Row items.

  • Missing fonts in FrameMaker 9 even after installing Adobe Type Manager

    We are using Formata family fonts in our templates. We import the templates and don't see the font family.
    We then installed the Adobe Type Manager and tried reimporting the template. No results.
    We then edited the makers.ini file and added the Formata font in DefaultFamily, still we see the font as missing in the Paragraph Desiger and Catalog.
    Any help in this regard is appriciated.
    The FrameMaker version is 9 on Windows XP.

    I need not the ATM on Windows XP or higher to install a font.
    1. Open the \Windows\Fonts folder
    2. Drag and Drop the font file otf, ttf or pfm (for ps fonts).
    3. Then the font is available for Windows and for the applications.
    4. Test it with Word and FrameMaker to choose this new font.
    Additional information for FrameMaker and the maker.ini:
    FrameMaker can differ Weight, Angles, Variations, Windows Weight and Angles only.
    Indeed you can define the correct Family Name with information to the Windows font name and information.
    That isn't longer important if you use FrameMaker on Windows platform, but it can be a great challenge
    if you also work with Adobe InDesign.
    InDesign works default with the correct Font Family name with Weight, Angles, Variations.

    The FMT format is not designed to be readable - use the Forms Object list report instead. If you are trying to make changes by changing the FMT, this is not supported. Look at the Forms C api in 6i and 9i or the Java API (JDAPI) in 9i to do this kind of operation.
