We can specify only one Item validation org for one operating unit (OU) in Order management as well as in Purchasing.
Say we have total 5 orgs in OU, one is ITM item master and others are ORG1, ORG2, ORG3 and ORG4. Suppose ORG1 is an Item validation org...
Now if Oracle is going to validate attribute values against ORG1 only then problem may come... in case few attributes are controlled at organization level then same attribute can have different values in different orgs say the attributes are Purchasable and Customer order enables..
If the item is not purchasable and not Customer Order enabled in ORG1 (Item validation Org).. then do you mean it can't be sold or purchased in that OU??... I don't think so...
So I want to know what is the significance of having Item Validation Organization...ac

When Manual Inter company invoice is created following error is coming up and as per ‘Metalink’ the solution for this is to select correct operating unit for ‘Item Validation Organization’. Since there are no items involved [Standard Memo Lines used] I don’t need to setup this and so the solution don't work.
ORA-20001: Please define the item validation organization in the Parameters window in Order Management
ORA-06512: at “APPS.APP_EXCEPTION”, line 72
ORA-06512: at “APPS.ARP_TAX”, line 8216
ORA-06512: at “APPS.ARP_TAX”, line 8361
ORA-06512: at line 1
So can anyone help to avoid this error....

1) You can use the child org as item validation org but typically, it is better to use the master org for this. This will help if you start using more child organizations.

New Hard disk is not appearing in the System Profiler

I am doing a fresh install using my ligitimate Snow Leopard DVD on my USB disk.
My SSD is not appearing in the System Profiler under Hardware>ATA
or under Hardware>Serial-ATA
It is a PATA device as was the original disk I've replaced.
So I have NO disk to install onto.
Any ideas what the problem could be?

My hard disk died, and I am replacing it with an SSD.
I bought a Mach Xtreme Technology Pata 1.8" SSD (Part no MXSSD1MNANOZ-120G)
(I can send this back if I have to)
The SSD is unusual in that it has to be a 1.8" size with a ZIF PATA connector.
The SSD is preformatted (but not necessarily to Apple formatting).
With the SSD the same way around to the original 80GB HDD, Pin 1 of the new SSD is towards the back of the computer.
I cannot find any information as to which Pin on the original HDD is Pin 1.

The connector on the SSD I used was indeed arranged reverse to the original Apple Drive. So it looked different to all the tutorials.
I knew where Pin 1 was on the new SSD but could not see it on the old drive.
The original 80GB hard disk had Pin 1 is towards the middle of the computer.
Flipping the SSD over meant it was about 3mm closer to the back, which made the zif ribbon buckle. So I had to cut away some of the rubber shock absorber to the back, and use tape. The SSD should not need the shock absorber as it is not mechanical/vibrating.
It is now working well.
(Although I now have a different problem restoring from the Time Machine. )

Not able to get the profile option value

Hi,
Not able to get the profile option value after i changed the new value in the application.
I am using fnd_global.apps_initialize to initialize the apps from PLSQL code to get the updated profile option value. But fnd_profile.value is not getting fetched the updated value. Still it is fetching the old one. I mean it is stored in database cache. Please any one let me know how to get the new value every time after i changed the value.

What is the application release?
Is this a custom or seeded profile option?
Can you confirm that the value got changed from the application (query the profile option and verify the value)?
Can you reproduce the issue if you use an API to update this profile option as per (How to Change Profile Option Value Without Forms? [ID 943710.1])?

Upgrade item(Related Item) not appearing in LOV in Modifier form

Hi ,
I am using EBS 11i
I am looking to setup a promotional upgrade modifier(itemA with itemB).I have setup the item relationship in Inventory as Promotional upgrade.Still the related item is not appearing in the Promotional upgrades upgrade item field in modifier form. Type of modifier am using is Promotion.
am i missing any further setups?. Kindly help

Rejected items of RFQ should not appear in PO

Dear Friends,
In a given RFQ i will select/ reject some items but while processing PO with Reference to RFQ system should display only selected RFQ items (RFQ items which have rejection indicator should not appear in PO).
validation has been kept for RFQ rejection items should not be converted to PO, but user has to delete the rejected line items manually which is time consuming.
please suggest how to proceed.

Hi,
In ME21N, you receive message 06 050 - "Purchase requisition & item & already deleted". This message can be changed to an error message via IMG transaction OME0. The checks for the messages can only take place,
after adopting all positions (as well deleted ones).
To prevent this, please check to see if one of the following will help:
1) Select the checkbox 'Open only' on the selection screen for the overview. In this case, the deleted items will not appear on
the overview and therefore they cannot be adopted. Or,
2) If you do not want to have the purchase requisitions with deleted items selected in ME21N, you can use the field "deletion indicator" in the variant for your purchase requisitions, by excluding it in   the dynamic selections.
P.S. If you have maintained message 06 050 as E (error), the user will not able to save the PO (he can only hold it)

Deleted Items from External HD Not Appearing in Trash

I have an iomega external hard drive and have had recent issues trying to trash deleted items.
I delete the items and they are removed from the hard drive, but they do not appear in the trash and therefore are unable to be "trashed" so that space is freed up.
I did some research and found that this is most likely an issue with ghost files still present on my external. Through use of the Terminal, I made hidden files appear on my external, but I was unable to re-delete the items that I had previously deleted/was not even able to find the items I had previously deleted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. As mentioned earier, this problem just surfaced.

I am having the exact same problem with my external, which is used as my iTunes library storage.
When I delete things from iTunes, and select "move to trash", the files do not appear in the trash, as they used to.
The trash stays empty (as in, no items are visible, even though I just deleted things).
Oddly enough, after a restart, the files will appear, and thus are able to be trashed.
Obviously, I do not want to have to restart every time to do this.
I looked through the other thread, and nothing helped.
Still looking for some answers!

Item billing plan lines not appearing in billing due list ...

Hello Team ,
I have one question on service contract billing plan. Contract has status released.
I have one contract which has header billing plan that is applicable at line item also.
1. At line item level billing plan two items are due for billing but in billing due list this line item does not appear. Some of the lines in Item billing plan are already billed.
Also at item billing plan there is no check (tick mark) for Header Billing Plan.
Can some one suggest what are the possible checks for item billing plan not appearing in billing due list.

Organizer photos not appearing on iPhoto after I downloaded them

I have Elements 12 and some photos I downloaded from iPhoto to Organizer now are not appearing on iPhoto, and are grouped together as a folder in Organizer, instead of appearing individually in Organizer

Memory is getting small
By memory do you mean free disk space? How much free space do you have? It's strongly recommended that a minimum of 10GB free space be maintained (20 GB if you use iDVD a lot) for optimal system and application performance.
By searching for thumbnails can you explain further? Do you get a message?

ICal and CalDAV: Added items in sunbird do not appear in iCal

I hope the question fits the forum and has not yet been answered. Sorry if it is the case. Anyway, here is my problem. I have this CalDAV account that I want to use both on my mac using iCal and at the office using sunbird (computer on linux).
This works perfectly well when I create or delete events in ical, i.e. the changes are reflected in sunbird. However, for some reason I don't understand, when I create, modify or delete an event in sunbird, this is not updated when I launch iCal. It seems that iCal does not update itself.
Has anyone ever experienced this ? Any help on this would be great. Thanks a lot.

I indeed checked and I've set it to update every 1 minutes. I even update it by hand and the new events added in sunbird do not show up. So I don't know, may be the events added under sunbird are not exactly in the same format as the ones added by iCal and that would be why iCal don't add them...

HT2534 "none" does not appear as a credit card option?

I follow the instructions on setting up an iTunes account without a credit card (so I can download album art) but the "none" does not appear as a card option after following the instruction to first download a free app.

There are instrctions on this page for how to create a new account (it won't work with existing account) without giving a credit card number : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 e.g. select a free app in the store and click on 'create Apple id' when 'buying' it.

Why my Startup Manager does not appear when I hold the Option key when starting to boot.

I no longer have the Startup Manager appearing when I hold the Option key when starting to boot.
Instead, the system just boots into whichever OS was last selected in the Startup Disk Preference.
How to get back my Startup Manager so that I can boot up from my external hard disk.

Af:inputText validation messages do not appear

Hello. I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0.4306 and I'm having problems with the
error messages that should appear next to a component when validation fails.
I had a JSF page with a few af:inputText without any kind of validation (all
consistency tests were done later, not using JSF features). So I
drag-and-dropped the fields from the Data Controls palette in order to force
that JDev to restore f:convertNumber tags (and maybe other settings). I set the
(af:inputText) "simple" property to false and (f:convertNumber) integerOnly to
true. After that, I tested the application and error messages were correctly
shown next to the components when I submitted letters instead of digits (client
validation is off).
One of the af:inputText had required="true" and did not have f:convertNumber.
When I left the field empty and submitted the form, JSF would fail silently,
without any error messages and without invoking the application. So I added an
af:messages to the page and it seemed to work, the error message went to
af:messages (but not the text field). So I needed to test whether this
af:messages would duplicate the warnings from the other af:inputText and found
out that errors were reported only in af:messages and not next to the
components anymore. This is my problem: I cannot get af:inputText to show the
errors by itself again. Is there a flag somewhere other than simple="false"?
The docs imply that it should "just work", without any setup needed, but it is
not what I am experiencing.
I have not found anything relevant on the web. The closer I got was this bug:
BUG: autoSubmit, validation and message but I'm not using
autoSubmit in any of these text fields.
Even if you don't know how to solve my problem, would you please give me some
guidance to debug this? How would you approach the problem?

More info:
I added an af:message. I suppose I had to set the attribute for (i.e.
for="itNumberOfDays", my af:inputText's name), so I did it. And again, nothing
appeared on screen. Tried with h:message too and got the same result.
I thought this was very weird and then added the following to a PhaseListener
(before RENDER_RESPONSE):
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getMessages();
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getMessages("itNumberOfDays");
// plus some code to print the messages
I found out that the message is there indeed, and it is correctly associated
with my input field! Now, what else could I try? Can I step through
af:inputText, af:message or h:message? I'm not sure about how to do that.
