Hi,
How can I customize "Page Template Region 5" to show the "items" above the region?
I want to customize this region something like "Page Template Body (3. items above region content)".

No
"Page Template Body (3. items above region content)". was the only option.
Alternatively you can create a blank region just above the region and can keep the buttons over there. Its the ugly idea but it works.

Really my region is a reports region of item-above-region-content type.
And the only page item has to be right-aligned to match rigthmost columns.

What happened with this enhancement:

I think, this limitation is annoying and needs to be removed. It takes to much unnecessary
workaround to overcome such a trivial problem.

Yes, that would be an excellent enhancement!
I was just struggling with getting a "Display as" item (showing the total of the report) under a report. There was no way, it always displayed above the report, even with "Horizontal / Vertical Alignment: right bottom".
This post made me try to move the region from "Display Point: Page Template Body (3)" to "Display Point: Page Template Body (2)". Now it works fine...

Yes, I had brought this up more than a year ago. This would allow us to use a WYSIWYG HTML editor to design a region template with #ITEM_NAME# substitutions in it and items with those names would be plopped into those positions.

How can I find text-item description and content in database?

I make "Actual news" region with text and simple image items.
With "Custom Search" autoquery I make news portlet with 10 latest news.
But I will make with PDK-Java discussion portlet, in which users can read and write about last published (last created text item display name and content) news.
My questions:
- How can I find text-item description and content in database?
- How I can sort text-items to find latest created in my region?

1. Can I create new item using personalization and refer to the item in the another region (for example there are 2 regions in my page R1 and R2, R1 has fields a,b,c and R2 has salary,empno,deptno , so can I create a field FFF in R1 and refer to deptno in R2.Suppose you have a 2 region like R1 & R2.
R1 contains three MessageTextInput Box. (eg a,b,c)
R2 contains three MessageTextInput Box. (eg x,y,z)
Then you can create a new item in any region & its will only impact your UI. (i.e. It will be displayed under the region where you have created it.)
2. if answer to above question is yes, then if user changes the value in deptno, will this get updated in the apps.The data in the new field won't update the automatically unless & untill, you attach EO based VO to the newly created item.

Region Content Properties

In the content area page style -> folder layout tab -> region properties -> region content properties -> how do the "In Place Item Display" and "Associated Functions" settings affect the region, what is their purpose and when should they be used. I could not find any documentation. Thanks for your help.

The sort order only applies to the Sort By property, not the
Group By property.

Rate it Link for items in a content Area

You need to create a custom item type, with a procedure that displays a link to do the rating.
For an example of a custom item type procedure, see Re: personal oracle 9i
Note that the primary key for an item is (masterid, id, caid, language).

I want sort items in region by date? How do it?

Standartly items in region may be sorted by author and size, how i may sort it by date? Reply, please!

The ordering functionality of a custom search portlet is disabled if you have Oracle Text search enabled. I think this problem is solved in 9.0.4.
Ordering by date in an item region can be achieved by choosing Group by Item type and then setting Sort order to descending. I have three custom item types (all of type text) available for publishing in a region. Even though it would seem that the three item types would be grouped and then ordered by this setting, it seems that the fact that all of the custom types are derived from one base type makes it work as I want where the last published item is put at the top of the list.
I presume the Group by function won't work as well if you have file, url, text, ++ item types in the same region.

Round borders are not round but jagged edges above flash content

My JQuery dropdown menu shows round borders when mouse over.
It looks fine on IE & Chrome, but it has jagged edges above flash content on FF16.
My code is "border-radius: 8px 8px 8px 8px;"
Please, take a look at my screen shot and help me to fix this issue.

Notice that there is a large empty black div at the top of the pagewhere flash content should be playing... The tool tip trigger is nearer the bottom of the page (a graphic of a '?')

Region content preview ?

Yes, i'm busy for a new poster, but i just wanted to ask if this was possible.
Ive been using Logic for many years but never been able to find out how to change the region contents preview from notation to piano roll, so that my midi regions show a piano roll style preview instead of the regular musical notation, when in the arrange window.
Ive been told on here that this is possible, but i'm pretty sure it's not.
Please help.

I see... Well, there is no option that controls the behavior of what's displayed. The behavior is to show notes when the zoom level is sufficient to display that. If you're zoomed out far enough you see nothing.
Would be a nice option to have tho.

Diplaying region content based on multiple selection lists

Hi,
I have 3 select list on submit(P1A, P1B, P1C). And i have 3 report regions.
now this is the scenario. the 3 select lists are on submit.
the P1C is a dynamic list which shows contents based on the selection from P1A and/or P1B. so this is how my P1C LOV looks like
SELECT DISTINCT COLLECTION d, COLLECTION v
FROM viewvs
WHERE (YEAR = :P1A OR :P1A= '-1' )
AND (SEASON = :P1B OR :P1B= '-1' )
ORDER BY d i also have a 3 report regions which display result based on P1C selection.
now when i select P1C then i am able to see the 3 regions. and when i go back and change P1A and/or P1B, then P1C changes output. and the 3 regions should not show any data unless i again select one from P1C but, the 3 regions still hold on to the previous data.
what i am trying to say is, when the regions should display data only when P1C is selected, and when any of P1A or P1B is changed the regions should disappear and should not display any data, but instead the 3 regions show the previous data unless a new selection is done.
How can i clear the report region when everytime a new value is selected from P1A and/or P1B.
also the below is part of what i have entered in the report regions

this is what i found the latest. whats happeneing is
when i select listA, listB-- listC gets populated and when i select from listC based on that value which gets stored in session state, report regions get displayed
but when i go back and change selection in listA, listB
by default listC session value should go to NULL, and only after i make a new selection, then with this new session value for listC, the report regions get displayed.
but when i checked the session value for listC, it still remains the same old value from the previous selection, because i haven't nade new selection and thats why the report regions are still showing the old result.
so how can i remove this session value for listC after displaying the report results.

There is nothing wrong with your code, so I'd look elsewhere for the problem. Is this a direct copy of what you have on your page?
:P1_COMBO1 in ('Option 1', 'Option 2')
And
:P1_COMBO2 = 'Option Combo 2'And the page item values are exactly as you have in the quoted strings? You might run the page in debug and confirm the page item values are exact.

Arangement of Page Items and Regions

I created an APEX page (version 4.0.1.00.03) named Request Edit with many page items for data entry of user requests. The form has a region named Request Edit that holds the data entry page items. Within the region is a region for buttons. There were two addition regions on the page below the buttons named Jobs a report region and Audit a Show/Hide region. The users do not like to scroll the page during data entry so I decided to place many page items into three new Hide/Show regions name Requestor, Recipient, and Service. I defined the regions and then moved the page items to one of the three regions Requestor, Recipient, and Service. When the page is displayed the three new regions displayed after the audit region. I wanted the new regions to display after the Request Number and before the Comments page items. I decide to change the Parent Region in the User Interface properties of the page to Request Edit for the new regions. That moved the three regions above the Audit region but after the Comments page item.
What properties of the three new regions Requestor, Recipient, and Service will position the new regions after the Request Number and before the Comments Page items? Is it necessary to define the Parent Region in the User Interface properties of the page to Request Edit for all of the regions?
To describe visually what I am trying to do imagine the following simplified page:

I defined three regions and moved the page items to them

Wrapping items in regions

I have created a page with some item regions on it. I have placed some text items in the region. When I make my explorer window smaller, the text items ar placed on different lines. I want it to stay on one line. I can create a table with nowrap for the text items but if I add a basic search item, I have the same problem. Is there any solution to this ?

One trick I have used in the past is to place a transparent 1 pixel tall gif image in the item region. Make the gif as wide as you want. This will force the region to be at least as wide as the image, giving the other content the space it needs so that it does not wrap.

Is it possible to have duplicate columns from source List to target List while copying data items by Site Content and Structure Tool in SharePoint 2010

Hi everyone,
Recently ,I have one publishing site template that has a lot of sub sites which contain a large amount of content.
On root publishing site, I have created custom list including many custom fields
and saved it as template in order that
any sub sites will be able to reuse it later on . My scenario describe as follows.
I need to apply Site Content and Structure Tool to copy   a lot of items
from one list to another. Both lists were created from same template
I use Site Content and Structure Tool to copy data from source list
to target list as figure below.
Once copied , all items are completed.
But many columns in target list have been duplicated from source list such as PublishDate ,NumOrder, Detail as
figure below .
What is the huge impact from this duplication?
User can input data into this list successfully
but several values of some columns like “Link column”
won't display on “AllItems.aspx” page
. despite that they show on edit item form page and view item form page.
In addition ,user can input data into this list as above but
any newly added item won't appear on
on “AllItems.aspx” page
at all despite that actually, these
item are existing on database(I try querying by power shell).
Please recommend how to resolve this column duplication problem.

According to your description, my understanding is that it displayed many repeated columns after you copy items from one list to another list in Site Content and Structure Tool.
I have tested in my environment and it worked fine. I created a listA and created several columns in it. Then I saved it as template and created a listB from this template. Then I copied items from listA to listB in Site Content and Structure Tool and it
worked fine.
Please create a new list and save it as template. Then create a list from this template and test whether this issue occurs.
Please operate in other site collections and test whether this issue occurs.
As a workaround, you could copy items from one list to another list by coding using SharePoint Object Model.
