ITunes 9.0.2 installation program won't run

I've been trying to upgrade iTunes for 2 days now but to no avail. I even uninstalled its v9.0.1.,and did another Windows Updating check. After downloading iTunesSetup file (v9.0.2.25), tried to run/open it but this prompt came out: " Security Warning Windows has found a problem with this file Name: iTunesSetup.exe Publisher: Unknown Publisher The file was blocked because it does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher." I tried scanning it with the antivirus program, the result came out with this message: " This file is signed with a broken signature issued by: Apple, Inc." I need help, please....

Downloaded the setup file using Firefox. Located the file using Windows Explorer. Ran/opened the installation program but at the STATUS: COPYING NEW FILES this prompt appeared: "The cabinet files 'iTunes.cab'required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-Rom, or a problem with this package."
Hmmmmm. So, it's looking like something damaging the installers on the way down to your PC. On IE it manifests as digital signature issues ... with Firefox it's just a damaged installer.
Okay, experimental advice but it will do no harm. Although the following document is for a different sort of error, try the advice in it:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1814
(If the box is already checked, try unchecking and rechecking it.)
After that, can any of your browsers download an undamaged installer?

My "Solar" accounts program won't run without "legacy Java SE6 runtime" since I upgraded my iMac desktop to OS x Yosemite but I can't download it, nothing happens when you click on the link to apple support

Okay, I'm not a Genius, but, I'm smarter than the one I spoke to at the Apple Store. They told me that they couldn't help me with Legacy Java SE6 Runtime. Adobe has the worst support in the industry so don't call them.
If you have a Time Machine backup, go to one that pre dates your install of Yosemite. Go to the System/Library/Java and drag copy the folder to your internal hard disk. Now you will need the Administrator password. Once copied, drag the old Java folder into your System/Library folder and when asked to replace, click OK. Restart your Mac and you will have use of your software that requires Legacy Java SE6 Runtime.
I'm totally done with Apple since they are trying to box me into a corner. Have fun kids.

  • ITunes v7.0.2 - installs but won't set up

    Hey guys,
I seem to have the same problem some other people on here have, I've just had a newer ipod that requires latest ITunes, it downloads, it installs, and then it just sits there and none of the files will respond to anything further, and it won't enter the Setup stage (not even the ITunes Helper file will respond).
I've downloaded it to my dad's laptop and it functions fine on there (but not so great as not my computer with my library!), so I can't figure out what's wrong.
I've tried everything I can think of:
    -the computer meets the min requirements;
    -the software (and MS Installer software) are allowed on my firewall;
    -I've tried msconfig to weed out any conflicting programs (and setting up a new, clean user account to see if system wide) - nothing;
    -I've checked for viruses that might affect it;
    -checked the file path
    -etc, etc, etc
I'm stuck - anyone able to help? Suggestions on a postcard (or here) please.
Any help would be much appreciated!

No error messages, just the hourglass for a couple of seconds then nothing.
hmmmm. well, at least we've ruled out one of the most common causes of that. (NIS 2005 interference.)
let's check on another few things.
    (1) try launching your QuickTime. does it:
    (a) launch perfectly fine?
    (b) fail to launch with an error message? (if so, what does it say?)
    (c) exhibit other peculiar behavior? (if so, could you describe it for us?)
    (2) reboot the PC. bring up your Task Manager, and click on the "Processes" tab. now try to launch itunes again.
does an "itunes.exe" process appear in the Processes tab? if so, does it persist in there or does it disappear after a few seconds?

  • CS3 installs but won't run

Ok - not sure if this goes in this section or not.. but it's a technical question.
My b/f bought me a Dell Laptop last week. It has the recommended minimum of everything adobe says it needs for photoshop CS3 (see below for 1721 specs)
When I installed it on the laptop - it was slow, but said it installed. But when I go to open up Photoshop, it opens the screen - and then just hangs. After about 5 minutes it says not responding and I close it. Any of the other programs that came with won't even get that far. I click on them and it gives the little "thinking" circle (as I call it.. lol) and then nothing.
I have read that CS3 has issues with Vista - but their site says the home premium should work. I've also read about 64 bit issues.. but the OS is 32 bit - so it's capable of running 32bit systems... I guess.
I called adobe yesterday after installing and reinstalling CS3 15+ times... with the same issue. I was on the phone for about 2 hours with them. Basically - they have NO CLUE what it would be since it installs fine and opens with no error messages. I checked the log files and there is nothing in there I see that says any kind of error.
I have disable windows defender, uninstalled McAfee and google desktop (all are known to cause issues with CS3), I have ALL non MS startup services turned off.. I have turned off the MS users control.. all suggested by the adobe tech.
I have installed using the run as administrator. Nothing. Created a new admin account and installed on that user and opened on reg admin account. Nothing. (again typical things that correct cs3 install issues)
The last thing the guy said was that it might be a video issue. I checked and there aren't any issues mentioned and no driver updates listed.
We tryed installing this on my b/f's laptop. He bought the exact one I have (except his is red.. mine blue.. lol) and it does the EXACT same thing...
So today we called dell. they say it's a software issue and won't answer any questions for free. Apparently only hardware support is free... But they won't accept this is a hardware conflict with the software..
    errrrr
Anybody have any clues on this?

Rob - thanks for taking a stab at this.
I have tried installing from the DVD and also from the zip file. the zip file was extracted to the hard drive brfore I ran it - and I ran it as administrator.
And when it stalls - it gives the (NOT RESPONDING) tag on the window - which usually means that even if I leave it (and I have for up to 20 minutes) - still nothing.
Here's the update from my dealings with DEll today...
Dell tech support guy told me that it was a know issue that CS3 WON'T run on Vista and that Adobe is working the issue
Told them that I knew others that were running it on Vista and it worked fine. They had no answer.
Then I waited for the Technical support manger to call. This is after expressing my displeasure to the technical supervisor about them trying to pawn this issue off on anyone else but themselves. Why can't they go grab a 1721 off the shelf and replicate the issue and try to figure it out from there?!?!?!
I used to work on a network helpdesk.. if I tried to pull that crap answer without trying to replicate the issue and AT LEAST try to find an answer.. I wouldn't have lasted very long at all!!!!
The Tech manager told me to call customer support and ask for an OS swap (from vista to XP) because they don't know what the problem is and so it muct be a Vista compatibility issue
I call customer support. They say that they no longer will give out XP since it is a step backwards. And to install XP on the machine ourselves (even a liscensed copy) would void the warranty. They suggest I talk to sales about swapping the laptop out with a "more compatible" one. Which isn't a totally bad idea since I really do think it is an AMD/ATI conflict.
They transfer me to Sales.. ohh - you used the Employee Purchase program.. you need to talk to them.. and they transfer me.
The EPP people tell me.. ohhhh you didn't actually go through us since you bought it off the Dell Outlet store. So they transfer me.
The dell outlet store says they will be more than happy to swap me out to an Intel based machine.
Only catch is the Intels are more expensive. They don't have any for the price we paid for the amd's. Fot about $40 more I can get one with a slower processer, a gig less ram, no dvd writer, but with a 160gb hd. To get compatible to mine - would be about $150 more.
And they only have silver in the low end, and black or brown in the higher. Not that I really give a s@!t what the color is.. but it brings up the main reason I am sooo pissed abput all of this....
Why should I have to pay more money, settle on doing without option/features want/need.. just because THEY don't want to take the time to figure out what the real issue is?!?!?! Why isn't it them doing these calls and doing all this troubleshooting.. Why am I being peanilzed for THEM not wanting to do their jobs....
Told the B/F that I am done with Dell. That I don't want the laptop anymore and I don't want any other one from them. He says he'll pay the extra and get me the other one.. but that isn't the point....
Not sure what my next move is.

  • Programs won't run after update to 10.6.7

    Hi
I have just inherited an early 2008 iMac following my Dad's death a few months ago. So I have no Mac experience at all. On receiving it, I booted it up and a list of recommended software updates appeared which I ran, and by all accounts successfully installed. One of them was an update to 10.6.7
Previous to the update I could access the installed programs. Now I can access barely any of them.
    Error message reads:
    Application name cannot open.
Check with the developer to ensure this version of application name works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS.
There aren't any further updates needed. Every time I check, I'm advised everything is uptodate. So last night I reinstalled iTunes, downloading the latest version. That won't run. Same error message.
I'm unsure what to do now. I don't have any disks etc at the moment as Mum is still trying to locate them (they had more than one property and this has come out of one that has been boxed up and put onto the market).

This is a typical error report. The section I have bolded out seems to be common in all the errors.

  • Moved iTunes from 'C' to 'E' drive - won't run!

A while back I had my kids move itunes from the 'c' drive to the 'e' drive. I don't think they really knew what they were doing, they lost alot of music, but at least it was running.
Yesterday, I went to upgrade it, by clicking upgrade from itunes while it was running. I thought it would automatically update it in the 'e' drive. It did not. I probably should have stopped there, but I didn't. I did an iTunes search and tried to manually move files from the 'c' to the 'e' drive. It isn't working. There is an itunes version still on the 'c' drive - it's running, but it is empty with no music. The itunes on the 'e' drive won't run at all. I have downloaded it, installed it, restarted the computer several times, but it continues state that files are missing and it won't run.
I sure hope I didn't lose their music! OMG!
    Please help!
    One frantic mom,
    Thank you!

You can move your music wheresoever you desire on your computer but the iTunes application itself - the program - is much happier when it stays on the C: drive. It sounds like you've tried moving the program which may well be the cause of your problems.
You are still able to start iTunes on the C: drive though, right? But the Library display is blank?
In that case, the easiest way to get back on track is to start all over again with your iTunes Library by by following the instructions in the Add to Library section of this KB article .
This will update iTunes with a list of all the files you add but will not maintain any of your playlists or related information (playcounts, dates added, dates last played, ratings, comments, etc.)

  • TA48312 where can I download iTunes 10.1 - my iPhone 3G won't run on iTunes9.2.1? I'm running PowerBkG4 & OS 10.4.11. Thanks Sean

Think this is not right somehow but I'm trying to sync an old iPhone 3G with this PBkG4 running iTunes 9 but it refuses and tells me I need iTunes 10.1 or higher. I can;t find this to download. Can anyone help?

iTunes 10.1 won't run on Mac OS X 10.4. You must buy Mac OS X 10.5 on DVD to use that iPhone with a G4 or G5 Mac; places such as Amazon sell it.
As iTunes 10.1 won't run on any configuration which iTunes 10.5.3 won't run on, Apple no longer makes it available to the public.

  • Program won't run

I am currently reading "Sam's teach yourself Java 2 in 21 days", and I followed the instructions for programming the "VolcanoApplication" (the files can be found here http://www.cadenhead.org/book/java-21-days/chapter.php/1 and are called VolcanoRobot and VolcanoApplication). I compiled the two programs, but VolcanoApplication won't run. I get an error message saying "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: volcanoapplication/class"

I copied the two files, compiled them and had no problem running VolcanoApplication. To try to narrow down your problem, do the following:
    1. Check the names of both files to make sure that they are called VolcanoApplication.java and VolcanoRobot.java.
Make sure there are no typos because the file name must exactly match the class name.  This includes case.
    2. Before trying to recompile, first erase the old .class files.  Go to the directory that contains the files
and issue the command: "javac VolcanoApplication.java".  This should compile both files.
The javac command should complete with no errors.  Now check your directory, you should see
VolcanoApplication.class and VolcanoRobot.class in your directory.
    3. From the same directory, issue the command "java VolcanoApplication".  Again, make sure there are no typos.
It should execute the program and print out some stuff.

  • Diasend Uploader program won't run?

Hi there, I have an  HP Touchsmart 610-1010a, I am trying to run a program called Diasend uploader?
It will download install and run fine on other peoples PCs but not mine.
It is a 32 bit program so this may be part of the problem as I am running 64 Bit??
As soon as I try to open the program it says: the program has stopped working and then nothing happens.
I have been in touch with the support team for Diasend to no avail.
When I try to install it seems to go fine until the part of the install in this attachment shown in slide 13, I never see this part it just shows the last part , slide 14??
    https://diasend.zendesk.com/attachments/token/intoyvodr3em8wx/?name=Diasend+-+Uploader+installation....
    Can anyone help please??

I sorta feel good that I'm not the only one baffled. I would agree with his assessment that something is blocking the install on the machine from being completed. As to what it could be I'm not really sure, usually when something isn't installing properly it's due to a firewall or antivirus program halting the installation. Since you turned off Norton and attempted an installation that should rule that out, unless, Norton still runs even when turned off. I have seen anti virus programs continue to run when disabled to "protect" the end user.
I'd recommend booting the computer into safe mode (see my previous link) and attempting to install the program that way. This should keep Norton from even starting up on the program so it would guarantee that it's not the issue.

  • Old Application Install Programs won't run

I know this must be something basic I missed in my Mac usage. I just replaced a dead hard drive in a g4 Mac PowerBook. I restored the new disk using the original DVDs that came with the computer. I then upgraded to Leopard. I cannot install a lot of the older software that I use... Office X updates, even my mac solitaire. The installation programs I always used and have backed up no longer execute. In fact, they show in Finder as Text files. What magical piece of software am I missing that allows these programs to execute? There doesn't appear to be an extension on the filenames when I turn on "Show Filename Extensions."

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

  • ITunes 10.5 and Apple Backup won't run correctly for update to iOS 5.

I'm trying to update my iPhone 3GS to OS 5.  When I update to iTunes 10.5, click update, and begin the backup that's required before updating to OS 5, iTunes and Apple Backup get stuck in an endless death loop.  The striped bar in the top window of iTunes just keeps spinning and it claims to be backing up the phone.  But this continues for several hours and the update to OS 5 never starts.  I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 10.5 several times because updating to OS 5 requires iTunes 10.5.  I've got plenty of RAM and a 2.0GHz computer.

Ok, here is what worked for me. Copied from sodaboy581's post:
Posted this in another thread!  Sounds stupid, but this will actually work.
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click "Command Prompt" -> "Run as Administrator")
    3. Once in the command prompt, type "netsh winsock reset" and hit ENTER.
    4. Restart iTunes.
    Problem solved.
At least this fixed it for me on my own Windows 7 x64 installation.  I had AppleMobileDevice.exe, APSDaemon.exe, and iTunes.exe all at 25% CPU simply from opening up iTunes.
25% CPU for me is 100% CPU per core since I have 4 cores.
Got it from another thread here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3383549?start=0&tstart=0
    Thanks, sodaboy!!

One caveat is that the iPhone (mine is a 4S) doesn't "wake up" while this is happening and hitting the "Home" button does not display "slide to cancel" as it usually does during a backup. Oh well, it still worked!
