my ipad is disabled and it said ipad is disabled connect to itunes but i connected it and was restoreing it and then there was a popup and it said itunes cannot connect to ipad because it is locked with a passcode. and you must enter the passcode on the ipad before it can be used with itunes. But i couldnt even write the passcode on my ipad cause it was disabled. What should i do now????

Follow the instructions on this page to reset your iPad : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer
If you see one of following alerts, you need to erase the device:
"iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
"You haven't chosen to have [device] trust this computer"
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

Then take it out of Lost Mode the same way you put it into Lost Mode:  via the Find My iPhone App or www.icloud.com.

  • ITunes cannot connect to iPhone because pairing record missing

I was able to connect my iPhone to iTunes once and was able to sync. Now i recieve a message saying: iTunes cannot connect to my iPhone because the pairing record is missing. What do I do?

    BPH108,
I had the same exact issue. What solved this for me was to unplug my phone, shut down ITunes, shutdown my phone (Not just shut down but hold the home and lock button until it shuts off), start my phone back up and start ITunes back up. Then when I plugged my phone back in it worked like a charm!
    Hope this helps!

  • Itunes cannot connect to iphone because of an unknown error (0xE8000065)

Right after I update iTunes to itune 9. I started update my iphone and it comes up with that message. Does anyone have the same problem?

    Hello,
I'am not 100% sure about your problem, but a few things are needed to know what happened. One, did you hack or jeilbreak your device? If yes then you pretty much got brickwd. If not, then did you try to put your iPod in DFU mode and then restore? (DFU - Power+Home button for 10 seconds HOLD, and then home for another 10 seconds.) Hope this helps, though I'amnot sure about the cause.
    Best Regards

  • Restore: Tunes cannot connect my phone because it is locked with a passcode

My iPhone is telling me that a restore is needed and to connect it to iTunes. When I connect it to iTunes I get a message that iTunes cannot connect my phone because it is locked with a passcode.  I know the passcode but my phone does notgive me the option to enter the passcode to unlock.  Is there a way I can do that from iTunes? Anyother ideas?

Normally you will only get that message if the computer your are using is not the last one you backed up to. Your only solution is to restore using Recovery mode. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

  • ITunes cannot connect to my iPad because pairing record is missing.

This is a one month old iPad that I just upgraded to ios 5 before I used it.  I don't know if the problem is in the upgrade.
When I did the upgrade, the message "iTunes cannot connect to the iPad because the pairing record is missing" came up. I figured I would call AppleCare in the morning.  Yesterday I hooked the iPad up to the computer and it paired fine with iTunes (at least it showed in the left column under devices) but did not show up in My Computer as being hooked into a USB port.  Now today it says that it can't pair with iTunes.  Any ideas of what I do before I make an appointment with the Genius desk?  I'm on the west coast and AppleCare hours are not compatible with my schedule.  Wish I would have known it wasn't 24/7 before I purchased it.

This helped after all other fixes wouldnt

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • ITunes cannot connect to Internet and iPad backup takes Forever

Hi, I have a workstation, high end Windows 7, PC, everything works perfect except the iTunes.. here's my story:
iTunes cannot connect to internet, nor can iTunes Store. I tried "Run Diagnostics" from Help menu, it showed "internet connection verified" green light BUT "Secure link to iTunes Store Failed" Red Light.
Then I thought, lets check other Apple App, Safari.. which couldn't load google for a long time and didn't even show any error, anyway, so I quit and uninstalled it.
I connected iPad for backup, it started all fine. At "Step 2 of 7" backing up, the loading/copying bar came half way up and stayed there for more than 20 hours. So, I quit that too. (Maybe, this is a different problem or connected, im not sure.)
I also checked the setting in Norton Firewall and made sure iTunes was allowed full access. Internet is working perfect in all the other applications, even "Apple Software Update" is working fine, checking for updates and everything. I have latest version of iTunes by the way.
THEN, I uninstalled everything Apple, left no trace of Apple in Program Files, and reinstalled iTunes. STILL SAME PROBLEM!!! Can anybody help? What could've happened, 'coz it used to work just fine before.
    Thanks Guys!

    start itunes.
    update podcasts - no response.
click on store - no response.
use diagnostics for connectivity - no response.
sometimes, when i stop itunes from trying to connect, i will get an error code 11222

  • TS1398 iTunes , cannot connect to server. At both, my fathers and at my place, with both, his iPad1 and my iPad 3

Started out with "Text Plus" triple charging me. Gave up on them.  iTunes sent me an email with the receipt of all 3 charges with "report a problem"  under each purchase. I clicked on it and that's when I had on my screen "cannot connect to server". This happens with both my iPodtouch 4 th gen. & my new iPad3 , both are WiFi. This also happens at my place and my fathers, with my products and the iPad 1 WiFi I gave to him. I can get on my iTunes but can't buy anything. I can sync . Please someone help, Sue

I just now did what you said and now it says; iTunes, cannot connect to iTunes store.
Very puzzling indeed, I contacted iTunes the other day and Derrick told me to go to Apple , I did and they said their support community has dealt with this problem before and now I am here. I think I am going to sync my iPad with iTunes for the 8th time and see if that does anything, it's been about 24 hrs. Since I did it last. Thank you for your help,Sue

Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school enviroment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
