ITunes charges my account with 0.99, even if I don't buy anything

I thought the use of iTunes was free. Nevertheless, from time to time my account gets charged with 0.99, even if I did not buy anything. Is that normal?

So this is suddenly a very prevalent scam as evidenced by a growing thread on getsatisfaction.com/apple.
Here is what I just posted there:
Eeee gads. I guess I don't feel so picked on in light of the prevalence of this issue. Woke this morn to find three separate 1.00 Apple iTunes charges pending on my Wachovia Visa debit card! Dated today! I just woke up, for Christ's sake!! Spent a frustrating hour on the phone with Wachovia customer support getting passed around and disconnected. Finally got an angel of a woman who filed all disputes, took charges off hold, cancelled my card, requested new issue, etc.
To add insult to injury, there was a 29.95 charge from 4/9 for ANCESTRYS! As if I care about my geneology. Did a quick google and found a similar pattern of fraud.
I'm switching all my online shopping to a Discover card. I'm just lucky these amounts were so small and didn't overdraw me. Although Wachovia would've reversed all charges.
What a maze of grief.
Now I have to spend an hour trying to figure out how to get this info to Apple. Without spending hours wading thru irritating phone prompts.

    All downloads from iTunes are tied to the account that downloaded it, you can't re-download content via a different account. You checked the spam folder on yourr old account as well as the Inbox, and depending upon how long ago you did it, have you retried getting it reset : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password' ?

  • ITunes charged my account but I didn't buy anything!

    I have an episode of Family Guy downloaded on my computer, and I haven't watched it in a while (maybe two or three months) and I watched it the other day, then I noticed my account was charged $1.99 even though I haven't bought any new music or videos or anything since February! Was I charged for watching something I already paid for? What's the deal?! Was I charged for something different?
    Also, I noticed when I went into my settings that it says my downloads are set up for two computers. I only have one computer that has iTunes installed on it. Could someone be hacking my account? I don't think this is the case, because if they were buying things, wouldn't I notice the new songs in my library? Also, wouldn't I be getting an emailed receipt? I haven't been getting any new music or any receipts, so I'm assuming I was either charged again for that one episode, or there was a mistake on iTunes' part, because I promise, I didn't buy anything!
    Please help me!!!

    Have you logged into your account in iTunes and checked your purchase history?
    It shows everything that has been bought.

    i am a teacher and my school has given all of us a ipad to use. it is set up with my school email and a shared itunues and icloud account. they have told us we can use it for anything that can be used for education purposes. i have downloaded books and other items that i have marked up for my use. however if there is ever a problem i cant identify my applications or books if other teachers have downloaded the same apps or books as well as my documents. is there a way to set up a 2nd itunes account and icloud account so that i may use that when backing up anything that would be personalized by me so that i can find what is rightfully mine. they are ok with it but were unsure how to do this, so can anyone help me? thanks

    My first iTune and iCloud account was set up with a work email address.  Last week, I changed my AppleID to a personal email account, but have found that on my iPhone under settings, iCloud, my account still has my work email.  How can I change this to reflect my new personal email.  I also pay to have extra storage, how is all of this working/tying together?  Please help!

  • Someone is charging my account with videos on demand.

    I have received two email notices, thanking me for my rental of a video that neither I nor my roommate have rented. The first movie was for free, so I didn't think much of it; I thought it was a marketing gimmick.  The second email indicated that the movie would be charged $4.99 (plus taxes and fees).  I'm really furious that this has happened now, and I'm trying to figure out why this is happening.  No one has watched these movies, and I've just verified that my Flex View Library is completely empty.  Who is renting these movies, and who is errantly charging my account for these rentals?
    I tried to find an email for someone, but obviously Verizon does not believe in receiving any email comments.  I do not want to speak to any Verizon-bot, and I'm not in the mood to talk to a live representative right now.  I just want whoever is causing this problem to cease, desist, and pay for whatever charges that I'm being erroneously charged.  I sincerely hope that I do not need to cancel my subscription with Verizon, because it's only been three months since I joined back with FIOS.  I've never had this problem with FIOS before, and I hope I never have this problem again.

    You need to call them and explain what is going on otherwise its possible it will happen again. They need to find out what the issue is.

    It seems as though you are describing two different things, unless you are trying to say that you cannot connect to the iTunes Store on through the phone. If that is correct, suggest you try and do a search, the question has been asked a great deal and answers can be found. Maybe even try and describe the error message you are seeing when trying to connect.

  • Itunes Charged my Account But I Didn't Get My Song

    I had left over money from an Itunes card, so I thought I'd buy a song. Since it was my first time buying off of this computer, I was required to answer my security questions, which I had forgotten. By the time I had re-done my questions, the session had timed out, and I was not able to get the song. Apple, however, still charged me and my balance is now $0.25 as opposed to $2.49. Is there a way to get back to that screen or is my money gone for good?

    If it hasn't downloaded then have you tried the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option to see if that downloads it, or does it show under the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes for (re-)downloading ?
    If not see if it appears in your purchase history, and if it does use the 'report a problem' link from there to contact iTunes Support : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
    If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

    I was going through the process of purchasing songs from iStore. Right after I hit "Buy Now" I would get a Windows error. I tired this 3 times figuring that nothing downloaded. Well nothing downloaded, but the songs where charged to my account each time. Finally, I was able to pruchase the songs, but now I have charges to my account when I did not receive the music. What do I do?
    I sent an email because no one in customer service will help over the phone. That is over 40 dollars in charges for nothing.
