Itunes error authority installing

when I replied yes to install the latest version of Itunes on my windows PC the install got an error trying to activate service programs?
The error stated I don't have the authority to install.  I am the administrator on my computer?
This only happened on the latest version never before?   Now if I try to start the partial installed version (it won't start) I get MSVCR80.dll is missing, help please?

  • ITunes errors while installing

    Hello,
Whenever I try to install iTunes (8.0.1), I get an error that says:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
I was previously running iTunes just fine until I tried to upgrade. If there is a link somewhere that lets me download the last iTunes 7.x, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello, Sorry to see you both experiencing the same thing today.
So from what I am understanding. Is when you both go to install the latest iTunes, The following error appears.
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
If this is the case. Can you comment on when during the installation this appears?
Also have you both tried the following
-Uninstall Apple Software via the Add/Remove Programs in control panel.
The following are the programs you want to uninstall. You may or may not see all these. But if you do please uninstall in the following order as it does reduce the amount of reboots you will have to perform to the system.
    -Apple Mobile Device Support
    -Apple Software Update
    -Bonjour
    -Windows iPod Updaters
    -Mobile Me Prefs
    -Quicktime
    -iTunes
*Once this is all removed. Reboot. Then attempt to install iTunes again.
*If you continue to get the same message. Try the article below.

  • Unable to install iTunes - Error during install

Just tried several times to install the latest version of iTunes to no avail, and had no luck with a few searches on google for help. I have been having troubles installing the latest iTunes due to an error with the bonjour service. Assuming it may have been corrupted within my computer, I had tried uninstalling it, which seemed successful, but it is still a service within windows, and is perma-disabled (can't be enabled at all). I have tried installing bonjour on it's own first before iTunes, however, it fails to install, and if I choose to ignore, it does proceed, but is unable to initialize the service. Should anyone have a suggestion to get around this I would appreciate it.
O/S is Windows Vista 64 Bit Home Premium
Hoping I can get this fixed up, else I am going to have to avoid apple products and programs for some time to come, which would be a shame. Also, thanks in advance for any possible solutions.

That was for windows\system32 using scannow and showed 100% complete
Does it make a difference that Apple loads it into Program Files (x86)?
No, it should also be checking through your WOW64 subsystem (that's part of the operating system too).
Can you check something further for me, please? Create a new Windows user account with full administrative rights. Log out of your usual account and log into the new one. (Don't use fast user switching to move between accounts.)
Can iTunes launch in the new user account? (It'll show a blank library if it does, but that's expected. The content is back in your other user account.)
(Checking here to see if the issue is systemwide on the PC, or related to a specific user account.)

  • Itunes error during install - msiexec.exe

I'm trying to upgrade to teh newest version of iTunes so I can activate my iphone. During install I get an error message that states there was a problem with MSIEXEC.exe and it will have to be closed, and then asks me to send error report to windows xp. Im in desperate need of help - thanks to all in advance!

open internet explorer and go to the windows update page, you most likely need to update your authorization msi or your root certificates. I'd recomend just grabbing them all, then go for a long long long walk....

  • Help - Can't install iTunes - Error during install

Am able to install QuickTime, but get to "Install Wizard" and it stops midway and gives me the error message "A later version of iTunes is already on this machine. Installation cannot continue."
I have erased my old iTunes off my machine - but am confused why this update would claim a LATER version of iTunes is on the machine and freezes the installation??!
Pls help - just got my iPod up and running again (after months of it being frozen on permanent lock and having to go back to factory settings several times - trying several fixes) - but can't do anything without iTunes and my music library to load on my iPod.
Thanks in advance - for any/all advice. I'm at my wits end.

    hi Laura!
Am able to install QuickTime, but get to "Install Wizard" and it stops midway and gives me the error message "A later version of iTunes is already on this machine. Installation cannot continue."
hmmm. are you installing a true standalone copy of the installer? the size of a standalone for 7.0.3 should be less than 20 MB. how large is your installer?
    here's a link to a true standalone:

    keep us posted.

  • ITunes error after installing in windows 7 x64

Hello, after installing a clean version of itunes 9.2 (with quicktime included) and launch it, gives me an error (excuse me, i'm from spain and the error shows in spanish):
    ITunesHelper.exe
No se encuentra el punto de entrada al procedimiento QTCF_CFUniCharGetUnicodePropertyDataForPlane en la biblioteca de vínculos dinámicos QTCF.dll
and after close several windows with this error, gives me the last message:
    Quicktime no disponible
    No se ha encontrado QuickTime.
QuickTime debe estar instalado para poder ejecutar iTunes. Desinstale iTunes y vuelva a instalarlo.
    ¿Something idea? i'm lost

    ITunesHelper.exe
No se encuentra el punto de entrada al procedimiento QTCF_CFUniCharGetUnicodePropertyDataForPlane en la biblioteca de vínculos dinámicos QTCF.dll
Most commonly, that's caused by an old version of the QTCF.dll file lurking in an unorthox location on the PC.
Abre Disco local (C:) en Equipo o el disco duro en el que esté instalado el sistema operativo.
    Abre la carpeta Windows.
    Abre la carpeta Syswow64.
Can you see a QTCF.dll file in there? If so drag it out onto your Desktop.
Restart the PC. Does iTunes launch without the error message now?

  • Itunes error upon installing

When I last ran Itunes it said that my library was damaged. I tried reinstalling Itunes but now everytime I install it I get this error, "Error 1334. The file '7E8952B375A4527B8D37D6766577B2AUn' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'iTunes.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package." I don't care about the library anymore I just want to get itunes installed and working again. Please help.

I'm having a similar problem with a different message, but if you installed Itunes with a USB key in your computer it might need that to work, it happened to me. Give that a shot.

  • Itunes error authorizing computer

I have w2k and an ipod that was originally synced to a portable that died over a year ago (it was a winxp os). I have recreated the music libraries and synced the ipod to the current library, but some songs that were purchased from the apple store are identified as not authorized. I tried to authorize the computer I am using now but I get an "unknown" error -9808.
    Help!

If you want to deauthorize all of your computers on your acount, go to itunes store and press account. there will be a button to deathorize all. You can only do this once a year. If a computer dies it stays on your account a authorized. Ones you have deauthorized all computers, authorize the ones you want from the drop down menu in the store tab.

  • ISScript Error When Installing Itunes

Hi I have had an Ipod before and have Itunes 4.8 installed on my comp. Recently I've tried to install a newer version of Itunes onto my comp (Version: 6.0.1.3) and I get through most of the steps untill the Installer starts to remove the backup files and I am issued a Itunes error:
The Install Script engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available please install the latest version of ISScript.msi or contact your support Personnel for further assistance.
Then the Install script error is followed by a Feature Transfer Error stating:
Error: -1603 Fatal Error occurred during instaltion. Consult Windows Installler (MSI.CHM) or MSDN for more info.
So, I went to the Installshield website and found this article here: http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108322
I downloaded the one that says version six, being that is the version I am trying to install and that is what the procedure told me to do. (You'll understand when you go to the site)
Well the install of the ISScript goes fine but when I reboot and try to install Itunes again, I recieve the same errors as before.
Can anyone help me? Please help because I JUST ordered my Ipod Video today and it will be here soon.
Also, I tried to uninstall Itunes, but when I go to the Add/remove Programs, Itunes, nor Ipod Updator is not listed. Only Quicktime is. I was able to remove quicktime.
    Please help.

Hey Deb, wow I thought I had fixed the problem. The guy I talked to from Apple said it would work fine as long as I installed Service Pack 2 and guess what? It didnt. I contacted Apple again today and they're giving me a new response saying its a "Windows" problem and they can'thelp me out. So I went to installshield and typed in the second error I'm recieving, the 1603 error and It gave me a list of what I can do to troubleshoot it, yet I still have the problem. So I'm really not sure what I can do, I guess I will see what happens when my Ipod comes and I try installing Itunes from the cd. Maybe it will work.........(ya right) O well sorry for getting your hopes up but keep trying on it. I have no other ideas of how to fix this. Keep in touch!

    Hi clinton86,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that are receiving an alert when trying to import a CD to iTunes and are being asked to reinstall iTunes. iTunes and all of its components must be removed in a specific order when uninstalling from a Windows computer. Please use the following article as a reference.
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
    1. Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
    I hope this helps,
    -Joe

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • Error on installing iTunes under Win 8

Error on installing iTunes under Win 8
I have recently upgraded to Win 8.  When installing iTunes the following error shows:
"An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT.type="win32",version"8.0.50727.4053.publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b 9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64". Please refer to Help and Support for more information HRESULT:0x80073715.
I am running the ITunes x64 install.  I have installed the V++ redistributable with no change in result.
I have subsequently downloaded and manually installed via the Apple Software update program iTunes.  However this does not allow my iPad to be connected as it is not the x64 version.

After spending an entire day on this issue, I figured out something that worked.  After installing Windows 8 (64-bit) then Visual Studio 2012 (or 2013) then the latest 64-bit iTunes app, I got the 0x80073715 error.
What finally worked for me was:
    1) Get all the Windows updates and hotfixes - especially the ones for Visual Studio.
    2) Go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14431 and download the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update"
    3) Only install vcredist_x64.exe.
After running these steps, I was able to completely install iTunes on my Windows 8 64-bit instance.
    Hope this helps.
