Itunes wont update in yosemite even with all the suggestions. HELP!
Hello!
This has been very frustrating... I constantly have a notification that I need to update iTunes. When I update it, it appears to download and install, then immediately posts the notification saying it needs to be updated. As you can see, I've updated this **** thing every day.............................. stab me.
I went directly to the itunes site to download it from there and was met with another error message: Image not recognized
I am running Yosemite, I am using a macbook pro, my social security number is- just kidding.
Can someone please help. None of the suggestions posted are working for me.

I right clicked on the file... that worked. ***. Typically I just double click and it works fine. I've never had to right click to update something. Whatever. It worked. Odd. Thanks for the input.

I seriously doubt that the track names are incorrect in the iTunes store and when downloaded to your computer. -
When I try to sign on to Mac App Store I get the message "Your device or computer cannot be verified" Yet I can sign on in iTunes no problem. I've tried all the suggestions from App Support but no luck. What am I doing wrong?
What troubleshooting techniques have you tried? Have you restarted the app? Have you restarted your computer?
One idea is to Trash this file; Mac HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist and restart. -
ITunes Shuts Down Over Microsoft Windows Error ALL the time - Help
I've never had this problem until ITunes 7 (and I've had an Ipod for 4 years), but now 1 out of 3 times that I open ITunes, it crashes and shuts down after I get a Microsoft error message - some unexplained problem which I've let Microsoft know about through an error report several times, but they haven't done anything I'm aware of. Sometimes this happens when I've been using Itunes for a while as well - very frustrating. Had anyone else experienced this, and is there a remedy? Thanks!

Your problem strikes me as similar to one posted in another thread which received this diagnosis by the inimitable b noir.

After updating to ios 8 on my iphone 4s, all my music from iphone disappered. I tried all the suggestions, but I cant see music folder in the settings-general at all. I signed out of icloud as well, but still cannot sync with itune on my macbookpro. Can any one help?

Change how it syncs by enabling Manually manage music and videos, then you can drag and drop the music that you want on your iPhone. Revert it back to test to see if that resolves the issue.

if require the new itunes11.1.X
if you already have that and it's windows then uninstall itunes
use regEdit you can type that in run or the likes and search and delete all hits you get on itunes
then reboot windows and install itunes again -

If you don't have enough free space on your iPad Air to update to iOS 8, you may want to update using iTunes on a computer:
Update your device using iTunes
If you can’t update wirelessly, or if you want to update with iTunes, follow these steps:
Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
Plug in your device to your computer.
In iTunes, select your device.
In the Summary pane, click Check for Update.
Click Download and Update.
If you don't have enough free space to update using iTunes, you'll need to delete content manually from your device.

I've been holding off updating my MacAir to OS Yosemite due to all the bad reviews. Is it worth downloading or should i wait for a later OS?
Well as any television network executive will tell you, for every complaint letter or email they get, there are likely a thousand people who feel the same but don't bother to comment. That's why it must be considered sample data, and only a little over a week's worth at that. That makes it even more remarkable since it reflects the latest bug fix release, and things should be getting better. I recently called Apple Support for a problem I was having with Yosemite on my 27" Cinema Display, and the hold time was 20 minutes when it's usually just a couple. Apple Support was excellent as usual once I got someone, but the long wait time tells me something is keeping them very busy these days. People don't call for support when all is well.
Now don't get me wrong - I'm a huge Apple fan and have been for many years. I've bought into the entire ecosystem with 5 Macs, 3 iPhones, 3 iPads, 3 Apple TV's, etc. I care passionately what happens with Apple and I'm looking forward to a long continued relationship with them and a bright future. But I have to honestly say that I have been concerned with the User Interface direction they have taken with iOS and now OSX over the past two years. I'm a business owner and can easily spend 12 hours a day in front of my Mac display getting real work done - not just watching videos, checking FaceBook, or playing games. I have perfect vision, but I'm getting severe eye strain from Yosemite. That's not just about disliking how it looks - it's a functional usability issue. Add to that the lack of quality control in this release (as evidenced by the widely reported wi-fi issues), and I'm genuinely and sincerely concerned about what is going on. Yes I freely admit that I'm nostalgic for how beautiful (and internally efficient) Snow Leopard was with it's colored application sidebar icons and "lickable" traffic light icons, but I could also use it and every release of OSX up to Mavericks for hours on end without eye fatigue.
And make no mistake, even with the misgivings I have over the directions taken in iOS and OSX of late, Apple is still by far better than any of the alternatives, and I will stand by them as they work their way through these growing pains, and hopefully listen to their loyal users as we express our sincere heart-felt concerns. -
I have a used mac computer. I want to sync and update my iphone. Currently itunes tells me that my iphone is connected to a different itunes account and will sync, but delete everything from my phone. How do I make itunes sync and update my phone without deleting all the current information on my phone?
Iphone will sync with one and only one cpomptuer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer. This is the design of the iphone.
It will erase the content when you sync.
Why not update from the comptuer with which you normally sync? -
Hi all,
I wanted my iPhone to store most of my songs locally (about 4000 songs), and as there is no other way I know of, I created in iTunes (on my mac) a playlist containing all the songs I want on the iPhone. On the iPhone I then went to the bottom of the playlist and pressed the "download all" button.
After a long time (a few days even though my 50Mbps broadband could handle it in less than 2 hours), the iPhone has now downloaded 80% of the songs. But it seems to be stuck at this point (no progress in the last 2 day). The songs which still need to be downloaded still have a "stop" icon next to them indicating they are in the download queue (as opposed to songs which I didn't request to download and have a cloud icon instead).
If I click on one of the songs pending download, it doesn't play it and skips to the next song available locally, BUT it does download that missing song.
The other thing is that now the "download all" button is never there at the bottom of a playlist/artist/album (I guess becaue there is a download batch pending).
So I can't request to download the playlist again, and I can't download or cancel the missing songs one by one as there are too many.
Does anyone have a suggestion of what to do? (Preferably not disabling iTunes Match and r-enabling it, I suspect the implementation is just bad for a large batch of downloads and it will do the same again after a few days)

BorisThanks, this is not an ideal answer but probably the most sensible one in my case.
I will try it unless someone has a better suggestion, but I'll wait a bit as it will take me a few days anyway (I had actually tried to create a new smaller playlist or download by album, but at this stage the music app is not letting me queue a list of songs for download - I think I will have to disable and re-enable iTunes match which will probably delete all the songs).
I have to say I am not very impressed with Apple here - having an online backup of all your data and beeing able to restore it to a new device easily was a strong selling point of iCloud. For music, they are Definitly not delivering at the stage. -
As stated no matter how hard i try i CANNOT get apps to appear in my sidebar library menu so i can update them through itunes.Has only happened since last update of itunes .Really wish i hadn't updated as i have never had an issue b4.Spent most of day on fone to apple yesterday as the update created an issue that meant i could not sync at all.Anyway thanks to 'james' in arizona we sorted the first piece of trouble the update created .(sortof).

I've looked at lots of posts re this and tried all the suggestions but just cannot get the magic 'apps' category to appear in my sidebar in itunes???
One suggestion was that the apps if clicked on would have an 'update ' button but all i can do is delete them

(running osx 10.7.5 on MBP -slightly tricky cos i also run windows in a 'bootcamped' partition.Mind u itunes etc is in mac partition and has been working fine for the last 10 years!!!!!!!!!)I'm going to assume that you use only one Apple ID so the two things that I can think of are to quite all processes and restart all devices and then try to sync those apps again. Quit iTunes, restart your computer and the iPad and then try to sync the apps again.
The other thing would be to try to reset your iTunes account by signing in and out of the account on the iPad. Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad and then sign in to your account and try again. -
I just bought 15' Mac book pro. as i work a lot on Garageband. I even downloaded all the drummers and loops to update the new Garageband 10.0.1
now my problem is that all my past work which i did on older version on GB, has missing sounds in it. so here are my questions
1. DO i have to install JAMPACKS on my new Macbook pro?
2. Are JAMPACKS still compatable with the new GB?
3. There is an UPDATE on the new GB on Appstore and once i click it, it goes to billing no detail is provided what this update is for so help!

Do you still have your old Mac?
How did you migrate from the old Mac to the new Mac? Did you transfer your old software and documents using Setup Assistant? Then your old GarageBand '11 version should have been migrated, and all your instruments.
if you did not migrate GarageBand '11, copy your old Instruments Library and Loop Library over from the old mac. Copy the following folders to a thumbsdrive and merge the missing dontents into the corresponding folders on your new mac: (from the system library - the top level library folder on your Macintosh HD):
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/
/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/
And if you would like to continue to use GarageBand '11 for access to missing features, copy also /Applications/GarageBand over, but to a subfolder of Applications. I recommend, to install the old GarageBand as well. It can be used in parallel to GB 10.0, and will come in handy, if your old projects are having problems.

The JamPacks are nice to have, a terrific collection of instruments and loops, but if you did not have them previously, that will not help with your missing instruments. You can instll them by buying Mainstage 3. They work well with GarageBand 10.0

I have tried to reinstall itunes and fix permissions.
all updated versions and osx also latestIf you are subscribed to them try going into the Podcast preferences menu and make sure that you have the option set to Check for New Episodes and when they are available to automatically downlaod them.
