IWork updaters refuse to recognise apps

I downloaded the Pages 3.0.1 Update, the Keynote 4.0.2 update and the Numbers 1.0.2 update but, for each of them, when the installer program runs I get this message... "An eligible Pages application was not found in the location /Applications."
I read a similar thread (now closed) but it did not tell me what to do about it. The apps are all in the “iWorks ‘08” folder (with straight quotes) in the Applications folder. None of them has had its name changed. I am running OS X 10.4.11 on a 24” iMac. Curiously, exactly the same updaters all worked fine on my MacBook running OS X 10.5.1 when I transferred them there. Do these updaters only work in Leopard? If so, why don’t they say so?

I am merely reporting what others have found, not accusing you of anything, so please tone down your response. Usually when something has been changed & the user knows they didn't change anything, it was done accidentally. I'm just saying, please double-check.
Since you are convinced there is something wrong with the installer, try downloading it again. There may have been a problem with the connection during download. You can find the links to the updates on this page. At the moment they are the second, third & fourth ones listed.

Thank you- I have read through that thread and can see some resonance with my issue.
My AOL emails work VERY fast with BB, in fact almost simultaneously received on PC & Torch " ping ping!"
This issue only raised its ugly head when I had 2 Torches replaced by my insurers.
Whilst the claim was in process I used a new Curve, loaded from backup on PC to keep emails going and of course phone & web facilities. ( I use the BB to power internet via bluetooth to my PC / laptop when living on a remote island with no phone lines or power supplies) All was fine. Swapping email accounts took a few minutes with the usual password confirmations for each AOL screenname etc.
Then the new Torches came back from insurers, and I tried to swap devices. Phoning & texting is fine. Al data and contacts swap over fine.
SETUP email accounts.............stymied every time. It says repeatedly that my user name/password is invalid etc etc etc
Have tried security wipes. Have tried setting up new BB ID & passwords on PC website. All is OK until I try to setup emails on the Torches. This has used up ridiculous amounts of time- all wasted.
I love the BB phones and the fast email push......in fact I recently bought a new Sony Xperia Z1 but sent it back because of wifi coverage meant no emails on that superb phone for lots of the time.
Good old BB I said..........I always get emails wherever I am. ( Rural Scotland has very patchy radio & wifi coverage)
Was about to purchase new Z10s just to get a bigger screen, but now I am averse to buying ANY BB phone again because this present mess means I may never get emails set up again. How nuts is that?

My Powerbook G4 refuses to recognise it's battery.............

My powerbook refuses to recognise that it has a battery installed.
Naturally this happened just weeks after the extended warranty ran out!
The battery icon on the top right side of the toolbar has a cross in it and yes, I have checked it with another battery, infact I bought a new one, I have taken the powerbook to a Mac official repair shop, who checked everything and said I needed a new logic board!
This is not an economic option on an older machine, and anyway it was replaced once under warranty already, as was the keyboard and the screen, so much for reliability.
It is a real bore to have to operate the powerbook connected to the electricity mains supply and everything else works perfectly.
Is there anything anyone can suggest to persuade my Mac to work as it should?

iWork is Pages, Numbers and Keynote.
Buy all three from the M.A.S. and it is all yours, cheaper and installable on all Macs that share the same Apple I.D.. However I have heard, but can't confirm, that that doesn't quite have everything the DVD version had.

My Creative Cloud won't recognise Apps I already have installed. I have since installed 1 more and this is the only one recognised and therefore updatable. I've tried logging out of my account and quitting Cloud then changing the opm.db file to opm.db.old in Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE and restarting but still the same. Any help much appreciated!

If your apps are already installed and you are just failing to update, kindly try to below mentioned steps.
Try to download and install updates manually from the below mentioned links.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Refuse to recognise system

Forgive me if I appear thick but I have just used M.S.I. motherboards for the first time and have a problem that I have not come across with any other boardthe 845PE max and the 655MAx boards, I have upgraded from an asus board with a celron111 processor to a p4 2gb northwood processor and I have tried both of the said boards each time the same thing happens that is the blue screen of death arrives and states that I have an inaccesible boot device, i am running windows 2000 pro on this machine, I have tried changing the boot sequence to no avail also tried to boot from the windows disc, non of them work, surely I cannot have two duff boards giving me the same error message, does anyone have any ideas, the boot sequence is set to 1floppy 2 ide0 (ie hard disc) as normal any thoughts would be appreciated I have checked the hard drive (a samsung 160gb) and it is ok in another machine

I can disconnect all drives except a clean formatted drive wih no operating system on it, making it a clean install as if it was a new computer the drive is an eide drive not a sata and it refuses to recognise that there is a drive connected to install the operating system to. i have replaced the memory with brand new, I have replaced the graphics card, I changed the motherboard, I have changed the power supply I have experimented with different bios settings. but it has got me beat

- Go to Settings>Stoe and sign out and then sign back in
- Power off and then back on the router.
- Reset networks settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

i purchased the west wing and have been doenloading episodes on my ipad. today, all of a sudden, my ipad will not sunc with my macbook and allow the transfre of these epsiodes as it says it does not recognise apps on my ipad2
all apps are up to date on my ipad and my macbook.

Now I feel like a dork. I switched my ipad off 10 times, but the problem was resolved by switching the macbook offf and on. thank you!!

The iWork for iCloud is only available in a web browser on a computer - Mac, PC. It is not available in a browser on an iOS device. If you purchase & activate a new iOS device after September 1 you should be able to activate the iWork apps on that device for free when iOS 7 is released on September 18. If you have an older iOS device, you will have to purchase the iWork apps in the iTunes Store.

IWork files refuse to launch in Snow Leopard

I upgraded to Snow Leopard today and All iWork apps refuse to launch. They close in a few seconds without any crash report. Any suggestions?

I will search if there is a new technote listing the Snow fonts.
Disable those which aren't listed here.
Then try to enable them one by one to identify the culprit(s).

MacWorld e-mail on ms apps had a rebuttal saying iwork now free, but the app store shows it at $30 for the 3 apps, so what's the story?

So I got my Mac World e-mail, it talked about the free apps from MS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), so I downloaded them, in the comments section of the article someone that didn't like them said there was no need as iWork was free and no subscription needed.
Anyway, after letting the ad for MS 360 play out, word opened, but it wouldn't let me access my skydrive, now called onedrive, it was grayed out and needed the 360 subscription, needless to say I deleted all of the office apps and based on the comments section of the article I went back to the app store to get iWork.
They are not free, each app is $9.99, according to the app store, so tell me is there something I'm missing, there were others saying it was free, so what is the truth here?
Currently I use Textilus for creating documents, well one or two, writing on the ipad is horrible, and it still doesn't recognize my printer or any documents I save in Textilus. I have to save the page as a picture, open up the Epson app, select photos, and print.
I was hoping something useful would be available, but it looks like that's not going to happen.

Beginning last September (I beleive) the three iWorks app are free only for qualifying newly purchased devices (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5913)
And yes, on the iPad, MS office apps can only be used to read files unless you have an Office 365 subscription.
Can't respnd to what Textilus does or doesn't do when it comes to printing. That might be a question for the app vendor.
