Search Issue with Domino..
hello,
I have Domino environment. I wrote simple program to fetch user from Domino directory. I can search with givenname, sn, mail attributes. But when i try to search with UID attribute, not getting user properly. When i place star in front of uid, then i get user.
Ex. user is :- ashish zokarkar
uid=azokarkar
givenname=Ashish
sn=zokarkar
query:- givenname=ashish or sn=zokarkar works very fine. but query uid=azokarkar does not provide me user. in spite of uid=*azokarkar give me user. I tried with 10-15 users and find same issue.
My question is: is this issue with jndi? or is it Domino issue??
Please help me in this issue.

At the current time we have one Domino v7.0.4 server (Win2k with DUC v1.2.3) in production and our clients are running Notes v7.0.4 client with DUC v.1.2.3 installed on them. This setup has been working great in our Unity v5.0(1) environment. We are looking to migrate our users to a newly installed Domino v8.5.1 (Win 2008 x32 DUC v1.2.5) server in the near future but out test users are running into a problem.
When a user gets migrated over to our new Domino server the client can no longer access their voicemail via TUI. During the user migration process we do change the pointer in Unity to their mail file on the new Domino server. When the user logs in they receive "Your messages are available now"
If we migrate the user back to the old v7.0.4 server they can access their voice mail with no issues.
Any feedback you could provide would be great. Thanks!Hi Kenneth,
Could you clarify what you mean by "During the user migration process we do change the pointer in Unity to their mail file on the new Domino server"? Typically when moving a user's mail file to a new Domino server, Unity should automatically pick up those changes. Are you pehaps creating a new mail file and pointing Domino to it instead of moving it? If that is the case, the new mail file would not have been DUCS enabled, a process it must go through before Unity will be able to access it properly. The only way to force that to happen would be to reimport the user into Unity. If the mail file is properly migrated, however, the mail file should remain DUCS enabled and there would be no need for this.
An easy way to determine whether the user is DUCS enabled is using the DUT tool. It is located on the Unity server under \Commserver\Utilities\Domino\DUT. It will show you a list of all of your users. Compare the values you see in the UCProfile section for a working / non-migrated user to a failing one. You might also want to verify that it lists the updated mail server and mail file for the user.
Also, while I don't think it would cause this particular problem, you should be aware that Server 2008 is not currently a supported platform for DUCS/CsServer 1.2.5, see page 6 in the admin guide:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/duc/admin/guide/cuducag.pdf
Hope this helps,

Hi,ALL
This is a strange Question, please help me to figure it out.
I have a HttpServlet Aplication,
It will connect with Domino server to search database as CLIENT.
So, When It connect with Domino server.
I use Notes Cobra connection:
NotesFactory.createSession(....);
unluckly, it thorws me exception:
can't instantiate default ORB implementation lotus.priv.CORBA.iiop.ORB
If I create a pure application runing on windows platform.and use the same function:
NotesFactory.createSession(....);
it works fine.
why this problem happend if it is called under HttpServlet application?
ThanksFollow-Up:
Ironport, if you could get someone to investigate this, it would prevent future issues with your plugin.
Thank you for the detailed report. I have filed defect #9107 for this issue. I'll also see that this gets added to our knowledge base. -

A AbhinayHi Kevin,
Thanks for your reply,
We are trying to install the RACF Advanced Connector in OIM.After copying Connector to the ConnectorDefaultDirectory in OIMSERVER , we are trying to install the connector from the OIMAdmin Console. We are able to see the RACF connector version in the dropdown box, when we click on the Load button we are getting the SystemError Page.
Please let us know if there are any prequisites we need to take care before installing the connector,we dodn't find anything on this in the connector documentation.
Please help us to install the RACFAdvanced Connecttor
Thanks,

Non-English characters not displaying correctly - Serious Issue
My corporate email is on a Lotus Domino server with Lotus Traveler installed.
I have set my PlayBook (with OS 2) up to syncronize with the corporate email trough Active Sync (see http://alturl.com/qh3nn), which works perfectly.
I have however noticed that in some emails special non-english characters are displayed correctly but in some emails special non-english characters are displayed as a black diamond with a question mark inside.
This is of course a serious issue as most non English speaking countries use some special characters.
When trying to understand this problem how can I analyse the emails and see what character set is being used?
And of course better; has someone solved this?I am having the same problem. Is there any update available?
-
So I've been struggling to get my work email up and running on a new Pre2. All my accounts except my work account sync without any issue. At work we use a Domino 8.5.2 server with Domino Traveler. Users not using the corporate BB's have the option to sync their mail using IMAP or EAS (on Traveler) on the server. Both of these work flawlessly on my Pre (minus) 1.4.5 (which I am still using) and neither works on the Pre2 2.1.0.
I have been all over the internet, logged a complaint with Palm. Had the problem escalated to Level 3. HP-Palm has no tech support for WebOs devices in Asia (where I am presently based) and they told me US based level 3 tech support cannot make overseas calls. Tried calling the US tech support myself but it took 30min to get the guy to understand the problem as I had to start from scratch even after giving my complaint ref number. After that no news from them. No call back no email - nothing. Finally wrote an email on their website complaining to HP's CEO. The very next day some guy from tech support in Asia called me and giving reference of my email to Mr.Apotheker told me that he would co-ordinate with the engineers in USa and call me each day to update me on the status of my complaint.
After 3 calls from the guy during with some more questions answered he finally called me this morning to convey the following to me.
"The complaint lodged by you has been checked, duplicated at our end and confirmed. However, IMAP email on a Domino server or Domino Traveler EAS synchronization is not supported by webOS 2 so we cannot help me any further. Have a nice day!"
Wow, I could not believe that this guy was actually serious about this statement. HP-Palm are actually publicly stating that a webOS 2 device syncing with a Domino server is not officially supported. That in my opinion is unbelievable. They cannot possibly have any hopes of being a serious player in the enterprise environment with this level (or lack thereof) of email sync support on the device.
To anyone who can still help me trouble shoot I have already tried the following:
- deleted & setup problem account again
- partial erase
- full erase
- full secure erase with a completely new palm profile
- on server side completely new mail db setup on server
- trying to click forward and back between email messages
- setting up a test account for the palm guys to try to log into and confirm duplication of this issue at their end
Nothing works. The final result is:
IMAP: it is absolutely impossible to get the IMAP Sync to show folders from our sever. The account gets set up and validates without any problem. But no folders show up on the device. If you click on drafting a new email message and send out a message it may or may not go (random behavior). It shows up in the Outbox on the device and in case it is successfully transmitted it just disappears from device (no sent folder). On the desktop client the sent email appears in the sent folder.
Conclusion: SMTP relay works at times. IMAP sync for incoming connects but no folders show up on device.
EAS Sync with Domino Traveler: After trying dozens of different configurations the email starts to sync and all the folders show up. all email headers show up just fine. But whenever I try to open an email it needs anywhere from a couple of seconds to 30-40 seconds while I watch the "retrieving email text" then if I am lucky the email opens with full text but there are a number of email messages which never open and eventually give me an "error - unable to download".
Conclusion: The email sync with Traveler is completely random. I can read some messages but most show me an error. The contacts search from Global address book on the server works albeit with a 5-10 second delay.
HP-Palm have given me a reference bug number CSO-7675 and as I understood officially told me that they cannot offer any further help. I don't know if this issue will be addressed in subsequent updates or I'm on my own. If anyone can offer any further help on this issue it would be much appreciated.
Post relates to: Pre 2 p102ueu (SFR)I have tried much of what you have and have the same basic problem. Email sync to Traveler 8.5.2FP2 is erratic at best. Another symptom I see is if sometimes when I open an email from the Inbox, I get the body of a different email! So something is definitely broken. Question is, is it Traveler or WebOS? It seems that WebOS 2.x uses a later version of Active Sync as I can see messages on the Domino console referring to XML tags that are not understood and other error messages. I'm pretty sure Traveler only supports what is needed for the iPhone to sync. It is very annoying and pretty much makes email / celndaring unusable. The calendar on my Pre seems to take a long time to respond after opening and I'm pretty sure it's due to the above issues. I have tried the commonTime mNotes product and that works fine but I would prefer to use Traveler as it is a more elegant solution.

Too Slow - Domino 6.5.4 with access manager agent 2.2 ?
I don't know how to tune Domino 6.5.4 with access manager agent 2.2?
I think AMAgent.properties is not good for SSO.
Please help me to tune it.

Mail with IMAP don't work correctly with Lotus Domino server
I have a issue with the Mail program in Macbook Pro and Macbook Air. I have a mail server, Lotus Domino. I configured Mail in the macbook to access Lotus domino with IMAP protocol and i have issue with the refresh.
When i read a email with me iPhone it's disappears in the "Inbox" folder in "Mail", goto "Trash mail". if i restart "Mail" then apperas in the inbox.
If i detele a email and go to the "trash" folder in my iPhone it's mail disappear and only can see it in Lotus Notes client.
If i restore the emails deleted, i need restart Mail otherwise.
I think Mail have a problem with IMAP.
Anyone know if there open a improvement about this? ( IMAP issues ).
Thanks.
Salvador LlopisYour problem sounds like your settings are wrong. IMAP definitely works with ease.

IDM Gateway on Lotus Domino 6.5 dies
Hi
I'm trying to install Identity Manager Manager (IDM) 6.0 gateway to Lotus Domino 6.5 on a Windows 2000 SP4 server.
The service (gateway.exe) starts fine, but when I select "Test Connection" from the IDM Resource Parameters Config - the services stops and the "connection reset\n" messages is returned to the IDM console.
Starting the services in debug mode gives the following output:

06/21/2006 16.26.27.321000 [408] (../../../../sWe are having exactly the same issue as noted above.
Once the Gateway servvice has been installed and appropriate paths set in registry as advised, behaviour has been noted as follows:
1. Given the credentials starting the service have access to Domino's core INI file, and an alternate id (eg. sun.id) file is employed for users' ID management, gateway.exe writes the path for this id file back to the core INI file (in C:\Lotus\Domino) on service start.
This becomes rather ugly with any attempt to restart Domino (freezes, etc) and can only be gracefully removed by
(i) Re-instating correct server ID references in notes.ini,
(ii) killing the gateway (see commandline switches), then
(iii) uninstalling the service and/or restarting the device.
2. Not wanting to be beaten - tried explicitly denying access to the core ini file by the service account.... Nope - Identity Manager exits with error and service stops as described in original post.
It seems that under Domino (as opposed to Notes Client) the Gateway service ignores registry setting "notesIniFile" - evidenced by enabling success/failure auditing for each instance of notes.ini file. Seems no attempt is being made whatsoever by gateway.exe to access the alternate "notesIniFile" location.
Any input will be greatly appreciated... -
Broken pipe error in Sync Send JDBC Receiver: Extremely Serious issue
Hi forum,
I have a serious error in a JDBC->XI--> JDBC scenario,
Step1: I use a sender JDBC channel to select some distinct values from a table say X, and update the same rows,
Query SQL Statement: select distinct Branch from dbo.X where status = 0
Update SQL statement: update dbo.X set Status = 2 where Status = 0
Step 2: enter BPM
Step 3: enter a loop
Step 4:make a synchronous call to the same table X, to fetch some records,
SQL query: select * from X where status = 0 and Branch = i; Update X set status = 9 where Branch = i
Step 5: close loop, this loop iterates for 5 or 6 times depending on i, which is no. of branches selected by the sender JDBC channel
so all the calls are to the same table, same databsse(SQL Server)
the problem is when this sync calls happens in the loop, it some times gives following error, which i se in RWB:
<b>Error Unable to execute statement for table or stored procedure. 'X' (Structure 'STATEMENT_X') due to com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: An exception occurred during the DBComms.transmit operation. Exception:Broken pipe (errno:32). Context:(2217)</b>
i have no way to trace the cause of the error, the database is perfect and the error logs in the SQL server shows no trace of any error,
Note: It works sometimes
i dont know whom to approach, pls help
the issue is very very serious as its in production system,Hi Sudeep,
SAP Note 846079 - XI 3.0 JDBC Receiver: # of Retries on SQL Error w/o Effect
Please check the following SAP note also - 831162
Some info which i found there and can be relevant in to your scenario.....
Q: I am using a JDBC Receiver Adapter in conjunction with the Lotus Domino Driver for JDBC perform an INSERT or UPDATE operation on a database. When sending a message to the receiver, the Adapter Monitoring shows the following error message:
"java.sql.SQLException: [Lotus][Domino Driver for JDBC]Invalid cursor state"
Is there a fix for this issue?
A: To work around this JDBC driver problem, activate the Advanced Mode for the respective JDBC Receiver channel and configure the setting "Number of Retries of Database Transaction on SQL Error" to a value > 0. Additionally, make sure that the setting "Database Auto-Commit Enabled" is also active as the Lotus Domino Driver for JDBC does not support transactions.
Apply note 846079 before configuring this scenario.
Q: The TCP/IP connection to my database host is running over an unreliable network connection, i.e. the connection is sometimes interrupted. Consequently, I sporadically receive an SQLException regarding a closed connection in the system trace or audit log or the connection as well as the JDBC Adapter channel are hanging.
How can I work around this connectivity issue?
A: Enable the "Advanced Mode" for the respective JDBC Adapter channel and select the option "Disconnect from Database After Processing each Message".
Note that this might put additional load on your DBMS due to the creation of a new database connection for each message.
I dont have access to a database right now, so i am not able to check this.
Also check the JDBC driver compatability as mentioned in the above note.

As soon as I attempt to connect a CR XI report via ODBC to a particular Lotus Domino database my Crystal client crashes with the below error message in the event viewer. I regularly connect to other Lotus Notes databases but this one crashes my client everytime. Anyone have any ideas?

thanksIn AD the option Logon Hours we have to color the grid with the hours that user logs in AD.
In AD we have the command "NET USER" where we pass parameters, how login and hours that this user logs in AD. This is example: net user johnsw /time:M-F,08:00-17:00.
But for execute this command in AD I need use the Remote Manager, and I can not do this.
Exist a method more easy to resolve this issue?
Thanks
