J2ee server getting restarted
HI,
We have deployed an .ear file of size 44MB to J2EE stack of WAS6.4 SP16. While we are starting the application in VA, portal server is getting down. This happens only with this application. When we try to start other applications, they are working fine.
However, the same application is working fine when we deployed in WAS6.4 SP9.
Please share ur ideas on this........
Regards,
Ravi.
HI,
Sorry for the late reply.
In the log file it was showing as JmxConnectorException. what does it mean?
I havent seen OutOfMemoryErrors anywhere in log files.
And after deploying the application in VA in server1, I am seeing one more file MetaModelRepository, here the application is not getting started.
I am not seeing this file while deploying to server2, here the application is starting.
Is this the problem with MetaModelRepository. whats the significance of metamodelrepository?
Regards,
Ravi.

WAS server getting restarted??
Hi,
We have a J2EE application running on WAS 6.40/sp15. While processing about 20000 records, the application puts as many messages in queues. It works fine till 15000 records. But when processing more than that the application gets aborted and the WAS server gets restarted. Any help what could be the possible problem?
Is there any queue size or some thing like that which needs to be increased??
regards,
SujeshSujesh,
Can you be more specific about records? Type?

VM with 1GB RAM in Hyper-V server gets restarted while Updating glibc rpm
I created a linux RHEL 6.1 based VM in Hyper-V server windows 2012R2.
VM settings are given below:-
Start up RAM=1GB.
Max RAM=2GB(dynamic expandable).
RAM type=dynamic
We are trying to upgrade old version of glibc rpm(glibc.i686 02.12-1.25.el6) with new version(glibc-2.12-1.149.el6_6.5.i686) on this VM using yum command. We also tried using rpm -Uvh command but result is same. We did the same
upgrade in ESX server VM there it is getting updated successfully.
While installing new glibc, VM is getting restarted unexpectedly.
Note: This behavior is not seen on ESX hosted VM.Hi Sir,
>>I created a linux RHEL 6.1 based VM in Hyper-V server windows 2012R2.
First I would suggest you update hyper-v host then install newest LIS for RHEL 6.1 :
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531026.aspx
If the issue persists I would suggest you to try to get further assistance within following forum:

How often should the SMP server get restarted? Cockpit message "Restart Required!"
How often should I restart the SAP Mobile Platform server? I have received a message in the SMP Management Cockpit that states "Restart Required!".
Hi Darrel,
Batish is right there is no need to restart server unless you change specific settings that need a restart. Ex. cache settings. You can find an "i" symbol next to these fields which need a restart if you change these values.
Also server restart is needed if you change any config files ex. admin-role-mapping.xml.
Are you able to reproduce this issue. Could you give a screen shot of this issue. What is the version of server?

Com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception starting the J2EE server 620
We are using J2EE 620 pl26, with the latest JCO, but often trying to acces the J2EE services like Mobile Engine Webconsole 21 or the WebEnabled Sapconsole 640 we recive the message:
'Dispatche runningbut no server connected'.
The J2EE dispatcher and server are started at Sap startup. Just after that time the J2EE is working fine, but after some time the J2EE server get down.
We found this message into the J2EE console_logs:
"RFCEngine: Server startup error, stopping "SAPProfile:F:\usr\sap\CAM\SYS\profile\CAM_DVEBMGS00_itmif089" :
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (129) JCO_ERROR_SERVER_STARTUP: Server startup failed at Fri Oct 15 09:58:20 CEST 2004.
This is caused by either a) erroneous server settings, b) the backend system has been shutdown, c) network problems. Will try next startup in 2 seconds.
Could not establish the lcom accepted connection: lcomListenCreate failed with rc 9"
We do not find any Oss notes for that.
Any advise is wellcome.
RegardsHi Mauro,
normally when you apply a new SAP Kernel a frfclib.sar file is delivered. This frfclib file need to be copied to the J2EE directory /os_libs and need to be extracted there. This frfclib version must always match to the SAP Kernel version.

Enque Server was restarted without restarting the J2EE engine (MSCS)
Hello All,
I've installed the Portal on Microsoft Cluster (MSCS) and everything is working well. Now when i try to move the Group from Node 1 to Node 2 to test whether it fails over or not?? It does fail over however, server node on CI and DI(Dialog Instance) gets crashed. I checked the log files and got the following:-
<b>Enque Server was restarted without restarting the J2EE engine. This could lead to data inconsistencies and requires a restart of the entire system.</b>
Has someone experienced this before, any ideas.

VaibHi vaibhav,
We are planning to install a HA & Load balanced NW portal. I was looking to get some information regarding same. While going through SDN, I came across this message. Thought of writing to you, since you have already implemented this solution.
Do you have any IDEA, whether SAP(Ok with other Institute also..) offer's any courses / Training for setting up HA (High-Availability) & LOAD BALANCING solutions for NetWeaver Enterprise Portal ?
Or any books available for the same at SAP Press?
PS: you also may refer to my message at SDN with the subject line: Courses / Books For HA & Load balancing for NW Portal

You can ping this machine from your portal-nodes and you can connect to the port "sapgw00" (should be 3300) ?

This is the reason why your j2ee-server stops - the portal can't connect to the ume. What did you configured as the ume - the portal database, a ldap-server or a r3-system ?

J2EE Server is not getting started exit code -11113
Hi,
J2EE Server is not getting started, the exit code is -11113. When I tried to start J2EE Enginer Visual Administrator its giving below error.
Unable to lookup connection default.
https://SAPXI:8101/msgserver/text/logon returned empty list of connection parameters.
Please help.
Thanks,
NishantGo to the following directory.
/usr/sap/<SAPSID>/<Instance_Name>/j2ee/admin
and start the go.bat.
Java Add-In You cannot use the Default login. Instead, perform the following steps:
a) Choose New.
b) Enter a display name and choose Direct Connection to a dispatcher Node.
c) Choose Next.
d) Enter at least the following:
■ User Name: J2EE_ADMIN
■ Host: <host_name> of the J2EE engine
■ Port: <P4_Port>
The following convention applies for the port:
5<Instance_Number_of_SAP_J2EE_Engine>04. For example, if
your J2EE instance number is 15, the P4port is 51504.
e) Choose Save and connect with your new login account by choosing

f) Enter the password for the J2EE_ADMIN user and choose Connect. -
Need help!---lookup connectionFactory failed after restart j2ee server!
hi,
I wonder anyone could help me to solve this context lookup problem described as bellows.i should say 'thanks' in advance!!!
At the end of the message i post the code used to lookup administered objects then create connection.
i use sun's default jms implementation (j2sdkee1.3.1) and jdk1.4 as environment.
The jms client will try to establish a new connection if the j2ee server restarts (perhaps due to remote j2ee server shutdown or network trouble) , but it fails to lookup topicConnectionFactory in the JNDI this time. An namingException will be caught :

Best Regards,
-bawanglongqiqiHi!
I've encountered a similar problem with looking up the Home-interface
of an EJB from a client through the InitialContext object after a
restart of the application server.
Try to set an additional property before creating your InitialContext
object that clears the JNDI cache (the property name seems to differ
between context factories - e.g. I'm using a WebSphere one and had to
set a WebSphere specific property name).
I'm sure you will find further info when you do a web search on "clear
JNDI cache" for your specific JNDI provider.
Kind regards,

Batch restart of j2ee server nodes
Hello all,
Is it possible (maybe with jcmon) to schedule a single server node restart within a j2ee cluster ?
I would like to restart just one out of 4 server nodes on which ther are sometimes memory issues and where there are dedicated jobs running
thanks and regards,
MIcheleHi Donna
If you are on unix/linux then you can pass options to jcmon over a pipe. This will restart the server1 node:
echo "20\n5\n2\ny\n0\n0\n" | jcmon pf=SID_DVEBMGS00_host
20\n5\n2\ny\n0\n0\n decodes like this:
20 -> goto local administration menu
5 -> restart process
2 -> restart server node 1 (change this to your server node number)
y -> yes i want to restart it
0 -> exit local admin menu
0 -> exit jcmon
This command can be included into a script and scheduled in cron.

J2EE Server Process is restarted automatically?
Hi,
On one of our systems we have seen that one J2EE server process was taking up nearly 100% CPU, after a few hours suddenly the process seemed to restart itself. I am guessing that maybe JControl Framework restarted it since it was chewing up so much CPU, but can't find any documentation regarding if JControl can do this and if it logs anything to say it did an automatic restart. Can anyone clear this up?
Thanks in advance,
SimonHi Simon
