Jasperreport localization problem in WL 9.2.3

Hello, all...I'm really baffled by this. When I deploy my webapp in Tomcat 5.5.27 my localization in jasperreport is working. But when I deploy it in WL9.2.3 (which is used in test environment and production), those special fonts for Thailand, Bangladesh & Cambodians won't render completely in PDF. I mean the paragraphs are like truncated. Can anybody help me out? This is supposed to be in production a long time ago if it weren't for this setback. Thanks.
information that might help:
- The iReport that compiled the jrxml files is version 2.0.3.
- JDK150_12 is used to build the WAR (I used what's bundled in BEA WL).
- All the special fonts are already in the classpath - needless to say.

Presumable you have the default queue okay as in "Then, explicitly create the weblogic.kernel.Default execute queue from the Administration Console and reboot the server"?Well, the problem is precisely that the administration console doesn't show the option +"Queue"+ in the General tab, so it's a little complicated task :)
Mark White wrote:
and the server was down when editing the config.xml?I tried to create the queues definition directly in the config.xml file with no luck: both servers (managed and administration) were stopped, and no resident java processes were running at the moment. The config.xml rolled back again to its older configuration after starting the managed server, so we're starting to think that it's a configuration problem that prevents manual modifications of the configuration file (even with the servers stopped). Any ideas concerning this?
Adding insult to injury: we have a Linux that shows the Queues option without problems following the same steps that we followed in Windows XP.
Thanks again for your time. It's much appreciated!

  • Localization problem

    I am running Oracle 8.0.5.1 on Linux Web-enabled by Perl
    DBI::DBD and Apache.
    The dadabase has been created in CL8MSWIN1251 charset and
    contains records in Russian.
    With appropiate enviroment variables (ORACLE_HOME, ORA_NLS33 and
    NLS_LANG) set to the required values in perl scripts everything
    works snagless and Russian characters appear when accessing the
    database from a Web browser.
    The same is true when accessing the database via TELNET.
    But I cannot configure the Developer 6.0 components (like Forms,
    Reports etc.) to show the Russian characters at all - they are
    all being replaced by overturned question marks.
    So how am I to configure the Developer to recognize the charset
    (CL8MSWIN1251) used when creating the database?
    Please, help!

    I know how to add my location to Skyhook, and I would like to know how to tell Apple to add my location so that it works. As I said, it used to work, and still work in many places but in my home location. I have look at my Linksys router and found no setup for Location. I have connected my iMac directly to the Cable modem and activated Airport to share Internet without success either. Then the Localization in Date and Hour Time zone does find me either. For this I use only Internet through my ISP. A friend withe the same ISP has the same problem with his new iMac 27 in.
    I hope that Apple will find a way to solve this problem.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Language Localization Problem on Dock

    I recently noticed that my trash icon on the dock has been changed to spanish language localization. I get 'Papelera' when I mouse over it. It is only on the administrative account. No other menus or icons are in spanish. I checked the international language settings in Preferences and they appear correct. I cannot figure out how to change it back to English. Help appreciated. Thanks.

  • IPhone SDK 2.2: Localization problem?

    Can anybody replicate that Localizeable.strings no longer work?
    Set up:
    - SDK 2.2 final installed.
    - Localizeable.strings in de.lproj and en.lproj.
    - Compiled Debug for OS 2.1.
    - Works perfectly fine for both languages on Simulator.
    - Does not work on 3G device.
    Can anybody duplicate problems with Localizeable.strings? Any hints?

    Can anyone confirm that this is the problem, and that this solves the problem? I haven't had a chance to try it myself. I saw on another forum, which was in Russian so I'm not sure I understood it all correctly, that there was an issue where the SDK wants the files to now be called Localizable.strings.<some number>. So I'm wondering if that is just an incorrect item, or if there may perhaps be multiple solutions?

  • JES5 Language Localize Problem in Web Interface

    I hope this is the correct forum to ask this question...
    Here's the problem:
    I wanted to make a Dutch version of the Sun Java Communication Express, so I followed all the steps you have to do (create folders, translate all the necessary files, edit .properties files, ... etc). I've also restarted the server after uploading.
    It seems that everything has worked out well, because when I go to my web interface, I can log in. I change the language to Dutch, and logged out.
    Now here's the weird part. When I log in again now, my "Mail" tab stays in English. But when i go to "Calendar", "Options", etc. the interface is show in dutch, as i translated them.
    I've found out that the redirecting url might be wrong, cause the url that show in my browser is: (ip)/uwc/webmail/en/mail.html?lang=en&laurel=on&cal=1
    It doesn't seem normal to me that, in the url, there is still "en" instead of "nl" for dutch. When I change the url manually, that's the only way to show the dutch version of my mail tab.
    So propably the problem is that the url ist being editted after choosing dutch as language(when I choose French, it DOES edit the url to "fr").
    Has anyone got an idea how to fix this?
    Kind regards,
    Andrew

    Shane,
    as I have been updating our own documentation I have also honored your request to update the publically available [ http://msg.wikidoc.info/index.php?title=Add_New_Language_ME Messaging Server wiki].
    For future reference the above link may be more up-to-date then this text.
    How do I add a new language to the Messenger Express interface that is not one of the languages localized by Sun?
    Because Sun does not provide additional localizations beyond those already supplied, you need to do your own translation.
    Start by copying the original files of one of the supported languages to the new language you need to support. In this case I translate from English (language code: en) to Dutch (language code: nl).
    Your Messenger Express may be installed in a different directory, change paths accordingly.
    <tt>
    cp -r /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/en /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl
    </tt>
    Translate the file <tt>/opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl/i18n.js</tt>. It contains most of natural language used in webmail. The files <tt>help.htm</tt> and <tt>help2.htm</tt> contain a lot of help text. I cheated and replaced those files with less extensive useage instructions or just leave the original english and hope the customers don't complain too much.
    For each language already supported and the new one edit the file <tt>i18n.js</tt> and add a localized name for the Dutch language and add Dutch to the supported/available languages in the options page.
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/en/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='English'
    *'i18n['nl']='Dutch'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/es/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='Ingls'
    *'i18n['nl']='Holands'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='Engels'
    *'i18n['nl']='Nederlands'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    </tt>
    The Messenger Express web interface has built in spelling check. The dictionary files come from the ancient/traditional unix ispell and are
    available for download from: http://ficus-www.cs.ucla.edu/geoff/ispell-dictionaries.html
    Download the Dutch affix rule file and the actual dictionary files, and use the buildhash command to make a hash file Messenger Express can use. When
    copying this hash files be warned that you can't copy it from x64 to sparc (big/little endian) architectures.
    <tt>wget ftp://ftp.tue.nl/pub/tex/GB95/ispell-dutch96/dutch96.lat</tt> (dictionary)
    <tt>wget ftp://ftp.tue.nl/pub/tex/GB95/ispell-dutch96/dutch96.aff</tt> (affix file for use with above dictionary)
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/lib/buildhash dutch96.lat dutch96.aff /opt/SUNWmsgsr/lib/nl.hash
    </tt>
    with a new dictionary in the correct place it should be detected automatically after a restart of Messenger Express.
    Use configutil to make Messenger Express aware of the new language:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.installedlanguages
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o local.supportedlanguages
    </tt>
    returns for instance the language strings: <tt>en,es</tt>. Add Dutch:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.installedlanguages -v "en,es,nl"
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o local.supportedlanguages -v "[nl,en,es]"
    </tt>
    Make the new Dutch language the default language for this site:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.sitelanguage -v nl
    </tt>
    Restart Messenger Express (web interface) to make the changes effective.
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/stop-msg
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/start-msg
    </tt>

  • Views labels localization problem

    Hello,
    I've some workspace views and presentations that contains several labels coming out from project variables.
    These vars are correctly setted up with 2 languages but when I deploy the project, the language remains English. In addiction some of the labels, when modified, remains as they were.
    After each deploy we do an engine restart. We waited enough time to let the directory refresh itself. The option to update custom views and presentation is switched on.
    What else is missing?
    Please any suggestion is welcome!
    Thaks a lot
    G

    I have the same problem once and was because when you deploy as the variables already exist then you map the variables that come from the exported file to those variables and then even you localize them in studio it is not reflected in enterprise. so you have to localize them in enterprise.

  • [JS CS3 Mac&Pc] Enabling automatic localization problem

    Hi all,
    I’m trying to enable automatic localization in my script, as described in ‘Localization in ScriptUI Objects’ section of ‘JavaScript Tools Guide’ for CS3 (pages 87-88).
    I try the first example and it works as expected:
    $.locale = "fr";
    w = new Window('dialog', 'Test');
    btnText = { en: "Yes", de: "Ja", fr: "Oui", ru: "Да" };
    b1 = w.add ( "button", undefined, localize(btnText) );
    w.show();
    Then I read the following:
    >If you do not need variable replacement, you can use automatic localization. To turn on automatic
    >localization, set the global value:
    >$.localization=true
    I really don’t need variable replacement in my script and don’t want to type localize() around every string over and over again, because there are countless numbers of them.
    So automatic localization is just what the doctor ordered. I try the second example, but instead of the localized string I get ‘Object’.
    $.locale = "fr";
    $.localize = true;
    w = new Window('dialog', 'Test');
    btnText = { en: "Yes", de: "Ja", fr: "Oui", ru: "Да" };
    b1 = w.add ( "button", undefined, btnText );
    w.show();
    Any1 have any ideas?
    Kasyan

    Kasyan,
    You need this:
    >b1 = w.add ( "button", undefined, String (btnText));
    It's indeed not what you's espect from the description in the guide.

  • ADF Faces: localization problem

    Hi,
    after migrating from EA17 to EA19 the localization of my ADF Faces application doesn't work properly on IE anymore. If English is included in the list of languages the application will be English no matter if German is at a higher priority.
    Only when I delete English and make German the only language in my browse will the application be German

    Well, for some reason this phenomenon doesn't occur anymore. I made quite some changes to my application since, so maybe it was my mistake. Sorry.
    In any case the language list I meant was the browser's language setting, both on IE and Firefox

  • Polish localization problem

    hi,
    i format values from the db using format(double) from DecimalFormat. this works fine. now when the form is submitted, i need first to validate and then to store in the db. i am facing 2 problems:
    1. value 1234.56 in polish in localized form is 1 234,56. the thousand separator is a whitespace (or so i think). however, if i do:
    String str = "1 234.56"; double val = nf.parse(valStr).doubleValue(); then i get 1.0 as my result. the wierd thing is, if i do run sun's example code in DecimalFormat class, copy the result of format from console and paste it in my code, the parse function works fine. this makes me believe the space might be some other character.
    2. if i try the parse the string 1234.56fgh in locale 'en', i get a result of 1234.56 and doesnt throw an exception. clearly this poses problems for validation.
    any input on this is greatly appreciated, as i havent got a clue about this.
    thanks in advance

  • Language localization problem

    my pc won't open itunes, when i try to, it reads " this version of itunes has not been correctly localized for this language. please run the english version."
    how do i fix this so i can open my itunes and back up my iphone?

    Brett, that won't help if iTunes cannot open.
    Karla, try these steps:
    1. Please triple-click on the block of text below to select all of it, then press CTRL+C to copy it.
    cmd /k REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Apple Computer, Inc.\iTunes" /v LangID /t REG_SZ /d "1033"
    2. Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the Run... dialog.
    3. Paste the text into the box with CTRL+V and then press enter/return. Overwrite the value if prompted.
    Alternatively, if you are confident using the registry editor, open it and locate the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Apple Computer, Inc.\iTunes. It might be useful to know what value is shown there now for LangID since several users are reporting this problem. Change the value of LangID to 1033 to tell iTunes to use English (United States). Once iTunes is able to start you can change this if needed, or you could look up the desired hex Locale ID from this table.
    I've just used this technique several times to flip iTunes between English (US) and English (UK). Although I'm in the UK I prefer the US labels of Movies and TV Shows as opposed to Films and TV Programmes. I'm guessing that there is currently a value in your registry (or none at all?) that doesn't match with any of the languages that iTunes is customized for, although why it cannot switch to English automatically is another matter.
    I've not had this problem myself, but I'm assuming at this point that correcting the user setting is all that needs to be done. Just in case however the following would correct the global setting which would normally be used when setting up a new user or if the current user hasn't been configured for the application.
    Command to copy & paste:
    cmd /k REG ADD "HKLM\Software\Apple Computer, Inc.\iTunes" /v InstalledLangID /t REG_SZ /d "1033"
    or locate the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apple Computer, Inc.\iTunes and edit:InstalledLangID to the value 1033.
    Please let me know how you get on.

    There are few if any Apple employees here. You might post your comments on the Apple Feedback Web page:

    There doesn't seem to be a choice for AirPort Utility. Perhaps one of the AirPort base station choices would work.
