Have tried using an ehternet connection istead of wifi but same problem.
Anyone got any ideas?

It is still in beta stages, meaning it is not ready for prime time.   http://www.java.com/ still tells me today that my 7 update 51 is the latest.  Don't install beta software unless you are a developer willing to play guinea pig.

  • Link Failed - Check Network Connection

This past Monday, one of my sccm 2012 secondary site servers had to be taken offline because the building lost power for the day.  Since then, the db link state (monitoring -> Database Replication) for that secondary site has showed failed, even
though the site has been back online for over 24 hours.
When I run the replication link analyzer, I get this:
Connection failure detected between SCCM-CP1.hw.local and the SQL Server SCCM-PA2.hw.local\CONFIGMGRSEC.  Check network and firewall settings between these computers.
EDIT:  I forgot to mention the obvious: the network connection between the two sites is up and in excellent condition
When I view the replication status for that link, everything is green on the parent site tab, and ? on the child site tab.  The summary tab shows the following:
    Site Replication Status
    Parent Site:  CP1
    Parent Site State:  Replication Active
    Child Site:  PA2

  • [Solved] Keeping Arch updated with no network connection

    Hello all,
I'm very interested in using Arch and had a few queries that I couldn't quite find a clear answer to in my searchings. I have been computer-less for a year and now that I have a new one, I decided that I don't want to go through another Gentoo install if I can avoid it.
So here is my dilemma, the computer I want to install Arch on does not have a network connection and is unlikely to get one in the near future. I'm also not keen on moving computers around each time I want to update the GIMP. A second computer in the house (running windows xp) does have a network connection. While using gentoo, I would do
    emerge -pretend -verbose <package name>
Then I would write down all the packages, download them from the windows computer-->USB drive-->copy to gentoo computer, then install the packages. A little time consuming, but it was less hassle than moving computers around. This also enabled me to get a copy of the latest portage tree as the entire tree can be downloaded in tarballed form (instead of doing an emerge -sync).
So my question would be, is it possible to do something similar on Arch? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used the custom repo option a week ago to install programs on a pc that did not have net access. It was a bit tedious, but it worked. Here are the steps I did:
    1. Download core.db.tar.gz and extra.db.tar.gz from the mirror you use.
    2. Transfer to the linux machine and extract in /var/lib/pacman/sync/{core,extra}
    3. Run 'pacman -Sp package > pkgs.list'. This will place the urls for the package and all of its dependencies in a text file.
    4. Transfer the list to the windows machine and run 'wget -i pkgs.list'. This will download all the packages. You will need to download wget for windows.
    5. Transfer everything back to the linux machine, run 'repo-add custom.db.tar.gz *.pkg.tar.gz' to create the repo.
    6. Add to pacman.conf, changing the path:
    [custom]
    Server = file:///media/usb/pkgs/
    7. pacman -Sy package
I have not tried it, but you can probably skip steps 5 and 6 if you use --cachedir like lilsirecho says.
    pacman --cachedir /media/usb/pkgs/ -Sy package

  • WRV200 DDNS-Update fails at PPTP Connection

    Hello!
I'm using the WRV200 Router (1.0.39) with an ADSL-Modem (Thomson) to connect to an Austrian ISP. So i have to use the PPTP-Connection to "dial in".
When i'm using this setting DDNS-Update via dyndns.org fails. The Status always says "diasabled". (The Account-Settings are checked)
A second WRV200 at another location uses a solid WAN-IP. This Router doesn't have any Problems with DDNS.
How can i solve this Problem?
Can you explain me the difference between normal and ETSI-Firmware?
    Best regards
    Mosquito

Hello Mr. Mosquito; the best advise that I can give you at this time is to follow this steps then retry to establish your connection,
    -- factory default your router
--Down and uplaod the latest firmware into you router
--Manually reconfigure your router-----( DO NOT UPLOAD THE OLD CONFIGURATION)
-- Do a port forwarding with the server's LAN ip address under the port forwading tab in your router
Note:don't forget to create your account in your server before establishing any PPTP connection. If this does not work please contact us at 1866-606-1866 US/Canada.

  • Java 5 updater fails to update to version 6?

    Hi,
Looks like java 6 is oficially available on java.com, and our java 5 updaters all started notifying us about new available updates, however: the first 3 computers (winXP prof) that were/are running Java 5 in our office failed to update successfully to Java 6. Do other people experience such troubles too?
These fails were enough not to allow updates on other computers.
PS: Our computers don't show any sign of malware nor viruses.
[I will report this as a bug unless other people reply with the same issue.]

  • 7.6 update leaves message "network connection timed out"

    Hi,
My latest update for 7.6 on iTunes does not allow me to access the Store or copy discs in with track listings or using gracenote. I get a message saying "iTunes could not coonect to the iTunes Store. The network timed out!" I am Windows XP/ SP2 and run Symantec Norton security. I have checked the firewall and iTunes is allowed access. I can access email, browsers and all as normal.
    Can anyone suggest anything else?
    Thanks

I'm having the same problem after updating 7.6. I've tried the following
-Itunes was allowed in my firewall. I turned it off and that didn't help so I turned it back on
    -reset my router and modem
-removed 7.6 and tried various older versions including one from 2005
    -tried suggestions in artcle
-Checked for problems with norton/symantec. I have symantec but no firewall through that program
    -Ran itunes diagnostics-they were fine.
It is very frustrating to not be able to purchase music, load new music from CD's without typing in everything, and upload my podcasts. I'm sure there is a problem that itunes needs to fix.
Please respond if you have other suggetions.

  • IPod Update Error: The network connection has timed out.

I have an iPod Touch second gen and am trying to update it from software version 2.1.1 to 2.2.1. Every time I try to "Download and Install" the new update, it downloads all the way but then an error pops up(picture below). This error also occurs if I try and use the "Download only" option. I have made sure I have iTunes version 8.1.1. I have also uninstalled iTunes completely and reinstalled. This error continues to pop up.
    Thanks in advance.

i also had this problem, that can happen if you are using the wrong internet. At my house we use a land line so i had to go to my work office and use the wireless. if you research it will tell you that you have to update on a certain internet

  • Juniper Network Connect fails in Mac OS 10.10

    Hello,
I am trying to use Juniper Network Connect on my MacBook Pro running OS 10.10 and Java 8 (Update 25) to connect to my corporate network.
However, each time I log into my corporate network through Mozilla Firefox and attempt to establish a remote desktop connection the following message appears as Network Connect attempts to load, "An error occurred while extracting one of the Network Connect components."
Mozilla Firefox is recommended by my company.
Has anybody else experienced this issue?
I have encountered Network Connect problems over the years (and similar error messages) and I am wondering if this message is related to OS and/or Java upgrades?
    Regards,
    Ben

    https://coderwall.com/p/_gpxpq/workaround-for-failing-juniper-network-connect-in -yosemite
    Text of site:
The current version 8.0.7 of Network Connect and the latest Yosemite 10.10.1 don't like each other: you simply can't connect.
A workaround (and it should be nothing more if you care) is to allow unsigned kernel extensions (which are unsupported/disabled in Yosemite by default):
    sudo nvram boot-args="kext-dev-mode=1"
    (reboot afterward) To revert this:
    sudo nvram -d boot-args
Looks like this is also helpful for some other problematic extensions.

  • Network connection status timed out.

I have been trying for two days to sign into the iTune store so that I can activate and sync my iPhone. I get the following message "itune store connection status failed. Network connection timed out."
I downloaded and installed the latest version of iTunes and I still get the same error message.
Is there anyway to resolve this?

With Applicatrions>Utilities>Disk Utility, run it, click on your boot drive, look near the bootom far a button that say about Permiiaions..
But I feel a beeter way is to get Applejack...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
