Valuation Type Wise Standard Cost

Hi SAP Experts,
I can not update the valuation type wise standard cost. It is going updated only at the Header level in the material master.
We have activated the batch valuatin and also the split valuation for materials.
At the header level in the material master there is a varialble price control and at the lower level we have defiend the valuation type with the standard price control. But when i am running the standard cost system update the cost only at the header level in the material master and not at the lower level.
Can any one help on this issue?
Thanks in advance

Trushit

Hi thank you for your answer. But if we maintain the valuation type default in split valuation then for all materials valuation types becomes mandatroy field, if we are going to open the batch but there may be the cases where batch is only going to be opend but not the valuation type.

  • Split Valuation with two Standard Cost

    Hello,
I have one question regarding split valuation where i need to keep both the valuation type as standard price, in that case how to calculate and release cost for valuation type. Logically keeping both is not pheasible. But want your experience how this is beed handled by others.
    Thanks

    Hi,
If one material has split valuation, standard price will be released only for header segment (valution type blank). You have the possibility to release standard price for in-house production segment, if you set the 'Default'-flag in the customizing transaction for splitted val. (OMWC) for the val. category 'X'.
Please read the note 552486 that contains information about this context.
Alternatively you might create a mixed cost estimate to release prices for each procurement alternative that is associated with a val. type.
The only way to mark and release a standard costing per valuation type is by using the functionality of mixed costing. That means that you have to define a quantity structure category and define a procurement alternative based on a valuation type of your material. Afterwards you have to define a mixing ratio for your material and the defined quantity structure category.
Based on this master data (procurement alternatives and mixing ratios) it is possible to carry out a mixed costing, one part of this mixed costing should be a cost estimate based on your valuation type. If you mark and release the mixed cost estimate the system will set the standard price on valuation type level (prerequisite: you have defined the procurement alternative based on the valuation level).

  • Raw materials on MAP with split valuation used in standard cost estimate

We have a few raw materials which are purchased from different vendors and of different brands. We have opened split valuations for these raw materials. These raw materials are later used in manufacture of different finished goods. We use MAP for raw materials and Std. for finished goods. What configuration and processing steps will be required to run standards cost estimate and what will be standard price for a finished good considering the following example:
    Material X is finished good
Raw Material A with split valuation @ USD 5 (brand aplha)   &   USD  10 (brand beta)
Raw Material B without split valuation @ USD 1
It is expected that we used brand aplha 60% of the time and brand beta 40% of the time and production batch size is usually 100 Kg.
    Please reply

    hi chris
Hope you have configured the material A for split valuation. while calculating standard cost estimate for the material C. through ck11n, the system will pick up the header price from material master.
But here you are saying that you have chances of using the material A, 60% of brand alpha and 40% brand beta
Instead of using split valuation use mixed costing concept. create the material A with separate Ids and create two boms one with alpha and the other with beta.
create procurement alternative in CK91N and mixed ratio with Ck94 and release the mixed cost estimate

  • Report for cost component wise standard cost

    Dear All,
I can view cost component structure wise breakup of cost for materials through various options in controlling.
But, I can view that only material wise, I am unable to find any report which can allow me to view cost component structure wise breakup for say 1000 odd materials at one go.
Kindly let me know if there is any report which allows me to view cost component structure wise breakup for mutilple materials.

    Hi
Refer S_P99_41000111 ... If that helps.. It does not provide cost componnets
Most of companies develop their own report using tables KEKO, KEPH, MARC, MBEW,etc.. there is no Std report in SAP which can give you Cost Comp Wise view for multiple materials due to technical limitations
refer Note 149261 - Problems with customer reports tables KKBC, KKBE. ..., which confirms the same point

  • AFS grid value/valuation type not picked in sales order cost estimate

    Hi Experts,
We have different valuation types in the material master. This is part of the AFS, where each grid value is a valuation type. While making a sales order cost estimate and in one sales order item, we have 3 grid values (valuation types), system is costing only for one grid value and that too for the entire quantity. This way the costing is wrong as different grid values have different BOMs and routings.
Is there any specific setting to have the grid value to be picked up in the sales order cost estimate? Or am i missing some setting? in general product costing settings or AFS product costing settings?

  • FIFO valuation at period end + consideration of valuation type

    Hi,
I use FIFO valuation to valuate my raw materials at period end.
Some raw materials are split valuated, e.g. the same material number can have valuation type NEW or REP (repaired). All material movements (e.g. goods receipt) happen for each valuation type at different cost (REP is much cheaper than NEW). Also purchase orders are created at movement type level.
Unfortunately FIFO valuation does not work based on valuation type. Thus the FIFO value can be a wrong mixture of valuation type values for each material.
Example: Starting with zero quantity/value at period begin
    Posting date
    Movement type
    Valuation type
    Quantity
    PO-Value/MAP
    05.07.2014
    101
    NEW
    500
    500 EUR
    10.07.2014
    101
    REP
    1000
    100 EUR
    15.07.2014
    261
    REP
    -500
    -50 EUR
    Total at period end
    1000
    550 EUR
The stock value of this 1000 items is 550 EUR, the 500 items NEW have a value of 500 EUR, the 500 items REP have a value of 50 EUR.
    FIFO result:
The 1000 items at month end are FIFO valuated based on the last goods receipt happend on 10.07.2014 which is exactly 1000 items (not considering the different valuation types).
Thus the FIFO value is only 100 EUR although the correct value should be 550 EUR.
I didn’t find a solution in SAP standard (FIFO related table MYMP does not contain BWTAR (valuation type) whereas table MYMFT does but its always empty in my case), but is there a solution for that case, maybe I missed it in some EhP’s?
    Best regards, Christian

    Hi,
There is no such normal MRP run.
Whenever we take MRP run, system will consider only the main material and not the split valuation type.
THe main concept of using split valuation is only for that itself. It is there for planning irrespective of valuation type.
But if you want the system to behaive in such fashion that it should plan one part and not he other then use different material code instead of split valuation. Define these two material codes as alternative and give the usage probability as 0% and 100%. MRP will consider only that material which is having 100% usage probability.

  • Process order settlement for materialwith 2 valuation types

    Hi ,
In chemical mfg scenario there is co product which has 2 valuation types.
The cost of mfg to be split i nratio of 60 :40 .  But this co product has 2 valaution types and hence there is problem in order settlement .In the settement rule there is no option for this.

  • Cost Estimate by Material Valuation Type

    Hi,
Anybody knows about the impact of cost estimate (or standard cost) by material Valuation Type level instead of by Plant level?  Especially how is the impact on Moving Average Price calculatio (is it calculated for both valuation type level and plant level?) and the inpact on Production order confirmation (which value will be taken for finish product inventory? Is it Plant level standard price or valuation type standard price?)
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    In Split Valuation --
At plant level the material is always valued @Moving average price(MVP)
More specific to the material ,the valuation will be made @ valuation type level --either at Standard cost or MVP. as you wish.
In production order confirmation the valuation will be made @ valuation type level .
For your inventory valuation, you may go for plant level valuation or valuation type level.

  • Default Raw material valuation type consideration for st. cost esti. of FG

    Dear SAP gurus,
For Raw materials we have split valuation (DOMESTIC, IMPORT).
During standard cost estimate of finished product, system is considering always DOMESTIC valuation for raw material component. why system is behaving like this.
But we need to consider the header price(Moving average header price updated in Material master). Where we can maintain the relevant configuration settings.
    Thanks and regards
    Venkat V

    Hi Venkat
I have never seen this.. It always takes the header price from the costing view....
Check in OMWC is you have specified DOMESTIC as the mandatory val type for external procurement

  • Valuation type created automatic through first GR, but standard price = 0

    Dear all,
I am trying to create Valuation type automatically through GR:
    1) PO: material = A, Qty = 10, price = 2
    2) GR ref the PO:  enter batch = N20001 , then the Valuation type is created auto = N20001 .
After posting GR, I check the MM03 and see that Material A , Valuation type = N20001: price control = S, and std. price = 0.
I have some questions as below:
    a) How the system copy data for material master data for the new valuation type N20001?
    b) If we create Valuation type auto like that, the Std. price will be zero, right?
    c) How can we assign the Std price for new valuation type N20001 during it is created?
    d) When we use the automatic valuation type?
Thank you very much for your help.
    Rgds,
    Cao Huy

    Hi,
The valuation type is created automatically if the customizing is set for automatic val typ in local definitions during split val customizing. This is set when you want system to create the val typ record for the material during GR. If this is not set then before doing GR you will have to create the val typ.
This is purely a business decision.
The standard price will be zero because system is creating the val typ. In case you create the val typ you would be entering the standard price.
If the val typ is automatically created then you cannot enter std price. So this is a drawback if sys creates the val typ. Later you can update the std price through MR21 or by running a std cost estimate.

  • Invenotry Valuation for BOM or regular items in standard cost

How SAP defines Inventory Valuation for BOM (Parent, Child) with different Inventory types?  If Parent Items is Inventory and Sales only but Child Items are Inventory and Purchase Items then the inventory value will base on each Item Cost or....
When you use Inventory Good Receipt the Item Cost grayed out that forced you to use Unit Price in Inventory Master Data file for this transaction and reflected to the Inventory Valuation Report. Is this the way for "Standard Cost" method?
For Standard Cost method, the Item Cost will be used from regular SO, Delivery and Invoice only?

Inventory value will be base on each Item Cost when you use Standard Cost method.  It will apply to all marketing and inventory document.
As for BOMs, they are only templates.  You could assign any price lists to them.  Therefore, until the production order created, any cost of BOM would only be a reference.
    Thanks,

  • How do I update standard cost for split valuation material?

We are using split valuation on our maintenance material.  Maintenance material is held in an inventory account separate from our production material.  We have materials that are set up with a Parent material as variable, and child materials  which are NEW or REFURBISHED or CORE.
The Child materials are set as standard cost.  Some of the standards are old.  Unlike our production materials, which have their cost standards on the Costing 2 tab of the material master, split valuation child parts have their costing on the Accounting 1 tab.
I attempted to update a cost standard by loading a future price manually in the material master.   I was able to load a future price, but could not get it to release in CK24.
I have been unsuccessful in finding a process or procedure that tells me how to update a child standard once is already exists.  There was one blog that said that the standards could only be released using CK24N if the quantity is zero.  I attemped to update costs on part with zero quantity on hand. This was also unsuccessful.
I am looking for a process- ie 1) load a future cost using tcode XYZ, 2) Mark and release cost using tcode XYZ, 3) validate changed inventory value using tcode XYZ.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Hi Govind
If your valuation variant reads MAP as the strategy sequence - Then average MAP will be taken... i.e. the MAP in the parent accounting view of the material will be taken
However, if your strategy sequence is intended to look for info records, then follow the link given in the earlier reply

  • Recursive Loop Error while doing standard cost estimate

    SAP Gurus,
We are trying to do standard cost estimate on a material and we are getting error because it is going in recursive loop even though we have used "recursive allowed" indicator for item components in the BOM. The error message numbers are CK 730 and CK 740. We are using 4.6c. I have tried the same scenario in ECC 6.0 and still I get the same problem.
    Below is my BOM structure:
    Material 10890345 (has low-level code 012)
---> 10867220 (has low-level code 013) and has recursive allowed indicator
    10867220
---> 10846733  (has low-level code 014) and has recursive allowed indicator
    10846733
---> 10890345 (has low-level code 012) and has recursive allowed indicator
According to me, the BOM for material 10846733 is causing the problem.
For some weird reason while doing the costing run for material 10890345, it s not stopping and going in a loop.10890345  and 10846733 should ideally have the same low-level code as they are recursive.
Please help to provide some solutions at the earliest on how to avoid recursive loop during costing.
    Regards,

    Dear,
I have 2 things to shear with you.
The method we followed to solve the iteration is as below
    1.Config change -
Valuation variant in the costing variant, we changed the sequence as below
    material valuation
    4 planned price 1
    2 std price
    3 Mov ave price
    2. Material master change
made all the semi finished goods and finished goods
    procurement type = E,
    costing with qty structure,
    Enter the planned price1
By doing this what happens is
when system first start the iteration, takes the planned price 1 and start iterating and next time in the second iteration it takes the calculated price from qty structure till it finds the difference between the value calculated is less than .001. Then it gives the result
Why lot size is important is, in our case in some levels the usage is very less compared to the first material header qty and system used to stop in between  and not even reaching the last level as during the cycle it was reaching less .001 difference. may be in your case it may not be the case...just check
Please come back after trying this. this was the only last option i had to solve the issue in my client.
Another alternative is to have a different material for costing purpose to stop the iteration which i will not recommend as we need to do some calculation for each stage and input the cost of dummy material in each stage.
My client is happy with the result as the difference between manual calculation and system calculation is less then .1%...this is because SAP will not consider the difference beyond .001, but in excel you get as many as decimals you want.

  • Freight Calculation in Standard cost Run

    Hi,
The requirement is while doing the standard cost calculation through CK11N / CK40N system should show seperately how much is freight plan cost &; how much is duty plan cost.e.g.
100 is material price as per condition PB00 Cost element 355100
    10 is freight cost (ZFR1 10%) Cost element 363170
5 is duty cost (Zduty lets say 0.5%) Cost element 363171
So taotal cost will be 115
I wanted to get this in cost component wise. Client does not want manual intervention so do not want to go for additive cost method
I had tried through Purchasing info record. I have maintained the valuation variant accordingly. Assigned correct sub strategy to it & also maintained delivery cost button in the same screen to assign conditions to origin group.
Also I had maintained purchasing info record through me11 ; mainteined conditions there.
These above mentioned cost elements are mapped in cost component  structure in T code OKTZ. Seperately for material ,freight &; duty
Now when I make a PO, system is showing correct calculation as per the conditions. When I do the GR the Freight &; duty is getting posted &; these GLs are having above mentioned primary cost elements . .So the primary cost element is also getting posted correctly.
    Now the problem is
While doing the cost run system shows me Seperate cost for material as 100 , seperate for freight 10 & seperate for duty 5, but to the same cost element i.e. 355100. So all the cost is shown as material cost ; nothing is displayed as freight or duty
If I see the cost element report the corresponding value is flown to the corresponding cost element. But  it is not reflecting in proper cost component in cost run
.Please guide me why this is happening. How can I resolve this
    Regards,
    Abhijit

    Hi Ajay,
I was waiting for your reply.
As mentioned by you, I have mapped my cost component structure like Raw material, Freigh, Duty & assigned the corresponding cost elements to it.. But still in itemisation view it shows three values
    consumption cost element 355100 - 100
consumption cost element 355100 - 10  (which should go to freight component where I have assigned the Freight cost element)
consumption cost element 355100  -5   (which should go to Duty component where I have assigned the Duty cost element)
FI entries are getting posted correctly. Values are flown to coresponding cost elements.
For the time being We will keep duty part side. We are discussing with client on this.
But, what could be the reason of this problem. How I can achieve the below mentioned result.
    Cost component view
    Raw material -100
    Freight  - 10
    Duty - 5
