Java API & E 6.5.1: Retrieving current session ID after calling IEssOlapServer.connect()

Is it possible to retrieve the current session ID after connecting using IEssOlapSvr.connect()?I know that you can: 1)Get all of the requests via IEssOlapServer.getRequests2) Iterate through the result of getRequests to get a request object 3) Use IEssOlapRequest.getRequestCode() to get the session id for the request. This is problematic because if I must loop through all of the requests/sessions, I cannot guarantee the one I am looking for is the one I am currently in!! As soon as a request/session is created in a thread, I would like to store the session id in a database so I can do 'stuff' with the session id later (like cancel it, etc). Does anyone have any thoughts? Hopefully I am over-looking something simple!!

Why don't you just keep a handle on the object and use that for further operations?Tim TowApplied OLAP, Inc

    When I try to use ExportPDF, a box shows up that reads "retrieving current session status" and I am unable to continue.

    Hi Kyle,
    Could you try:
      Choose Edit > Preferences (Win) or Adobe Reader > Preferences (Mac)
      Click 'Online Services' on the left-hand side
      Sign out of our Adobe ID and sign back in.
      Try to convert your document again.

    Hi Dewey,
    Are you trying to convert via Adobe Reader? If so, are you able to close and restart Reader (you may need to force quit, or use Task Manager to quit Reader if it's truly frozen)? After restarting, choose Help > Check for Updates to make sure that you have the most current version.
    And, if updating Reader doesn't help (or you already have the most current version), please try converting that same file using the ExportPDF web interface at https://cloud.acrobat.com.
    Please let us know how it goes.
    Thanks!

  • Extracting image variants for web index from MDM via Java API

    Hi There, we are currently using an open source search engine to crawl the MDM database and build indexes for our webstores nightly. In this process, we have an image extraction method using the MDM java API's. Can someone please tell me how to call an image variant into this process rather than the 'original image' stored in MDM? I've created a variant that will optimise for web conditions and we need to call this one into the webstore, not the originals that are sometimes huuuuge...

    Hi Adam,
    From MDM Documentation (can be found here [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmdm71/helpdata/en/49/0505fba870404ce10000000a42189b/frameset.htm]):
    Retrieving Image Variants
    To retrieve binary data for image variants carry out these steps:
           1.      Retrieve all image variants using the RetrieveImageVariantsCommand class.
           2.      Retrieve the Image BLOB whose variants you want to get, (see Retrieving BLOB Records above).
           3.      Retrieve the BLOB for the specific image variant using the RetrieveBlobCommand.
    Hope this information helps,
    Idan

  • API to retrieve current pageid or URL?

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell if there is an API to retrieve the current pageid or current URL?
    thanks
    Stijn

    If you are using PDK Java APIs, you could do PortletRenderRequest.getRenderContext().getPageURL() to retrieve the current page URL. Perhaps somebody can point us to the corresponding PL/SQL APIs.

  • Retrieve Records By RemoteKey in Java API

    Hi All,
          I want to retrieve records by RemoteKey for that i found a class RetrieveRecordIdsByRemoteKeyCommand in Java API documentation but I am not able to use that because I am not able to create instance of KeyMapping class as it is a interface.
          Any one has done this before? can you please help me how to new keyMapping in java code to set to this class.
    Thanks
    Ninad

    Hi.
    at first if u want to know what is it RemoteSystemId get RemoteSystemProperties[] with GetRemoteSystemListCommand and after that call .getId().getIdValue() - that method return int it is really id of remote system in MDM u can check it in DB in table A2I_CM_AGENCIES of your repository schema(column ID ).
    So.. let's go forward there is some sample code which search records by remotekeys:
                TableId tbl=mdmGate.getRepSchema().getTable(tblCode).getId();
                ResultDefinition rd=new ResultDefinition(tbl);
                KeyMapping km=KeyMappingFactory.createKeyMapping(new RemoteSystemId(idSys));
                km.addKey(id);
                RetrieveRecordsByRemoteKeyCommand rrBYrk=new RetrieveRecordsByRemoteKeyCommand(mdmGate.getPool());
                rrBYrk.setRemoteKeys(km);
                rrBYrk.setResultDefinition(rd);
                rrBYrk.setSession(mdmGate.getUserSessionId());
                try {
                    rrBYrk.execute();
                } catch (CommandException ex) {
                    ex.printStackTrace();
                    return -1;
    I hope this help u

  • National characters and new Java API

    Hi All,
    I'm looking for your experience with new java api and national characters (like: ü, &#347;, &#263;, etc.). The problem is that when record was updated using MDM Data Manager, and retrieved using new java api - national character are invalid (in java string the national character are represented incorrectly).
    It's strange due to fact that when I create or update this record from java API it's looks fine. Second finding is that old java api (MDM4J) works fine on text fields with national characters.
    Maybe I forget to set something in server configuration / repository / or on java api connection - any help appreciated...
    Regards, marcin

    While retrieving data via the Java API 2,
    you should set the Unicode Normalization after the user session is authenticated.
    I guess this is available in SP5 patch.
    The documentation for this is available at
    https://help.sap.com/javadocs/MDM/current/index.html
    Package: com.sap.mdm.commands
    SetUnicodeNormalizationCommand cmd = new SetUnicodeNormalizationCommand(connectionAccessor);
    cmd.setSession(userSession);
    <b>cmd.setNormalizationType</b>(SetUnicodeNormalizationCommand.NORMALIZATION_COMPOSED);
    cmd.execute();
    This command is used to set the Unicode normalization.  This is used for the lifetime of the session. It should be set after the session is authenticated.
    Unicode normalization is important when a text string is represented differently depending on the normalization used. The MDM server always store text strings in one normalization format. An user providing a text string to the MDM server and later on tries to retrieve back the same text string might get the text string back in a different normalization. To resolve this issue, the user can use this class to specify the normalization the user wants to work with. The MDM server will always return text strings in the normalization specified by this class.
