Java api query

new to java - here goes a silly queston - how can i access the source documentation of particular api classes or methods?
for example ...
how "lastIndexOf(Object o)" of ArrayList is actually implemented, or how a particular search method has been coded ...
Cheers in advance, Mike

if you want to look at the actual code then you need to download the sdk, and look in src.zip

  • Invalid Argument Exception on Java API's DB Close

    I had the same problem. I could fix it by carefully calling the delete() function on all those DBXML Xml..xyz objects that you create when you perform queries etc. It seems that those Java objects have some 'shadow' object in the underlying DLL and by calling delete() you free resources that remain otherwise assigned (maybe somebody with a C++ background who programmed this stuff?). Call delete() before the Java object gets out of scope. For instance:
    results = mgr.query(collection,context,null);
    XmlValue value;
    try {
    while ((value = results.next()) != null) {
    XmlValue c = value.getFirstChild();
    String ref = c.getNodeValue();
    c.delete(); c = null;
    value.delete(); value = null;
    catch (Exception e) {
    finally {
    if (results != null) {
    results.delete();
    results = null;
    Once i did this on all possible dbxml objects i used in my code, the java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid argument disappeared.

  • Error when invoking Rule Engine using Java API

    Hi,
    I have implemented a Java class which calls the Rule Engine to execute the rules. If I test by setting the value of the input inside a main method and get the output, it is working fine. The ruleset is also invoked and there is no problem. However, when I expose this java class as a web service and invoke the web service, I get the below error. I dont get the error if the .rules file is not present in the loaction mentioned. I get the error when the .rules file is present in the location. Not sure if this is an issue with the java call outs or loading the dictionary.

  • Java API for Error Handling

    There are some common error tables storing error IDs information ( IDs like error type, project id, interface id, message id etc.) in Operational Database (is not on source or target system) which we have to update using java API. We need to call java API (java code) whenever error occurs. We have to provide all the IDs to this function and then API will take care of DB updating. We can call java API in mapping program by creating user-defined java function, this will trap all the errors which are in source file as well as in mapping and mapping lookup. Query is:
    A-      A- Do we have any other place after the mapping to call this java API and trap the errors through it?
    B-      Can we call Java API using BPM and pass error IDs to it.

    Hi Anand,
    You Have to write Module For that(if you wanna call Java API after Mapping)at the receiver.
    To write Module Here is a link which will help you in.....

  • Building customize component using java API

    Hi,
    Appreciate for hepls... being trying this for few days...:(
    I am trying to build a customize component to use in a process using adobe java API. I follow the document and include all the necessary lib files. It compiled with no errors. And I pack it into JAR file and deploy to the workbench, no error. Then I call the customized component method and it throw the error as below, is merely cause by "Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.TaskManagerClientFactory

    What did I miss out? I include the libs file as stated in the document. Do I need to specify the class-path in a manifest file? How? It is not mentioned in the document. Is the "adobe-taskmanager-client-sdk.jar" pack in one of the ear or war file in the App server's (I'm using websphere) installedApp directory?
    Really appreciate for help... Is there any documents describing the deployment details. The sdk document is not very detail...

    Thanks WorkflowUser,
    I manage to solve the NoClassDefFound problem in any other way. Will try your method.
    What I do is I add the adobe-taskmanager-client-sdk.jar file to my customize component jar file (at root). And I add the classpath tag for the adobe-taskmanager-client-sdk.jar to the component.xml file. But when the customise component is run at a process. Another problem occured. I got an exception "com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.query.TaskRowImpl incompatible with com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.query.TaskRow".
    It is cause by the following code,
    TaskManager myTaskManager = TaskManagerClientFactory.getTaskManager(myFactory);
    TaskFilter filter = queryProcess.newTaskFilter();
    StatusFilter sf = filter.newStatusFilter();
    sf.addStatus(StatusFilter.completed);
    filter.setStatusFiltering(sf);
    List result = queryProcess.taskList(filter);
    Iterator iter = result.iterator();
    int i = 0 ;
    while (iter.hasNext()) {
    TaskRow myTask = (TaskRow)iter.next(); //CAUSE BY THIS!!!
    long taskId = myTask.getTaskId();
    I try using this: TaskRowImpl myTask = (TaskRowImpl)iter.next();
    also give exception error. Does it have to do with the compilation, the java version. My websphere is runing 1.5, and I compile using the same version... Any ideal? Thanks...

  • Multiple Data Sources and Accessing External Java APIs

    Hi Everyone,
    I have a couple of questions for which I was not able to find satisfactory answers in the forum search, so here they are. I would be really grateful if you can help us out with this.
    1. Accessing two Data Sources in the same report: We have a requirement to access two data sources in the same report, and use the data from one source to run a query on the other source. Our product (OIM) has its own DB. And it integrates with BPEL (another Oracle application) for some functionality. BPEL has its own DB. A few reports need data from both these repositories. For simplicity, consider that we need to join two tables, but one table is in OIM DB and the other is in BPEL DB. I guess such a join is not possible. So to work around it, we would like to run a query against one DB and then use the results to run a query on the other DB, which will basically simulate the join by running two queries.
    Is something like this possible in BIP? If not directly available, can you suggest something which can act as a work around to achieve this?
    2. Calling External Java APIs from BIP: We need to call some external APIs (for achieving Data Security) 'before' we run the queries in BIP. Basically the Java API will specifya set of keys which will have to be used in an 'in' clause. I looked at the section "Building a Data Template" in the BIP User's Guide (http://bipublisher.us.oracle.com/doc/prod_docs/BI_Publisher_10_1_3_3_3/bip.1013/b40017/T421739T434255.htm). As far as I can see, it discusses how to invoke a PL/SQL procedure using <datatrigger> but the usage is not clear to me. Is there any other document that discusses this in detail? Also, I am not sure if it is possible to access Java APIs. Has it been done before? If yes, then can anyone provide some sample code (sample report bits) which I can refer to to get this thing working?
    Also, the data coming from the Java API may not be in the correct format. We may have to do some additional processing (like converting data in a Java Object to something like comma separated list to be plugged into a query). Is that possible? What will be the best approach here?
    Sorry for the detailed post!
    Thanks,
    Jatan

    Yes you should be able to use both - for example using a Flash Variable to pass in the URL of the XML that you want to load.
    FlashVars are only supposed to be passed in on startup and they are defined as part of the OBJECT/EMBED tag for the HTML.
    Actually it was possible to update FlashVars at runtime in Xcelsius 4.5 with certain JavaScript calls but not in Xcelsius 2008 (because Adobe Flex which Xcelsius 2008 is based on does not allow the same mechanism).
    FYI, for those that are interested in Xcelsius 2008 you pass values into/out of Xcelsius at runtime using External Interface and JavaScript instead.

  • Two questions on dynamic parameter from java API point of view

    Hi,
    We have a requirement for dynamic parameters in crystal reports that need to be executed in java application. Since, crystal java framework do not support the dynamic parameter execution (please correct me if I am wrong), we plan to execute explicitly the query for getting the dynamic values of such dynamic parameters before listing the parameters in java application.
    The query for the dynamic parameter will be given in the field 'Prompt Group Text' of the parameter.
    I coudl not get hold of these details from java api. So please some one help me out.
    Environment - Crystal X1 R2 with java libraries
    1. How can we identify a parameter is a dynamic one?
    2. How to get the 'Prompt Group Text' field value?
    Any suggestions welcome.
    Thanks,
    Ratan.

    There are these two methods in the Business Objects Enterprise SDK Developer Libary:
    byte[]   getDynamicCascadePromptData()
               Returns a collection that contains dynamic cascading prompt data.
    java.lang.String getDynamicCascadePromptGroupID()
                            Returns a dynamic cascade prompt group ID.
    For more information on what is available through available SDK's, please refer to the following link:

    Is it legal to retrieve the installed JREs in this way? Legal? It is OS specific, and to a certain extent dependent on vendor and what the vendor wants to do. Could also be impacted by permissions. Other than that it is ok.
    I am feeling like its a type of hacking. So I couldn't decide whether this is legal (recommended) way of using. Does anybody can answer me. I can see the similar posts in google. Somebody suggests this way & somebody suggests to use preference API which is similar to this. Appreciate your help.Preferences won't work. It doesn't allow access to the registry in general, only a part of it. There are discussions in the JNI forum about retrieving VM versions. Prior to actually using the VM though.

  • Setting Multiple values in property set using java API

    Hello All,
    I want to set the properties of a profile in a property set using java API provided

    You need to use java.util.ArrayList.
    First cast the existing value into ArrayList using getProperty method,
    change values in the ArrayList and then put them back with setProperty
    method.

  • Java API/dbms_aw_xml Package

    Hello,
    can somebody tell me the coherences between the Java API and the dbms_aw_xml Package? I Know that the dbms_aw_xml Package is a set of the Java API, with this Package I can create Java Code for creating an Analytic Workspace. But how can i create a XML file? In the dokumentations they speak therefrom but I don't know how.

    The olap_api.jar is the Java API that enables you to query Standard Form cubes. The awxml.jar file is the Java API that enables you to create Standard Form cubes. When you are writing Java code to use the awxml.jar library you initially create an AW class. Once you finish adding Dimensions and Cubes to your AW you can output the XML to a file. See code
    String XML = globalAW.WriteToXML();
    try
    File xmlFile = new File("Your file name here.xml");
    FileWriter xmlout = new FileWriter(xmlFile);
    xmlout.write(XML);
    xmlout.write("\n");
    xmlout.close();
    catch (Exception e)
    System.out.println("Failure to write XML string to file: " +
    e.toString());
    // Build the analytic workspace framework.
    System.out.println("Building the " + aw.getName() + " framework.");
    globalAW.Create(awConnection);
    globalAW.Commit(awConnection);
    System.out.println(aw.getName() + " framework built!");
    Hope this helped.

    our software will talk to SCCM to get information about a system managed by SCCM. To be able to do that, our software needs to use a java API that talks to SCCM. Is there a java API for SCCM 2012 that we can use? If there is not, what is the work around to
    this issue (integrate a java project with SCCM SDKs)? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!<o:p></o:p>

    Hi,
    As you mentioned, it seems that there is no available Java API for SCCM .
    Just curious, what's information you want to get from SCCM.
    Based on my experience, you could query the SCCM site database to get almost all the information.
    Otherwise, your question seems to be related to SCCM 2012. You may also choose to post there to get more effictive help.
    We
    are trying to better understand customer views on social support experience, so your participation in this
    interview project would be greatly appreciated if you have time.
    Thanks for helping make community forums a great place.

  • Java API to find group members?

    I need to find a way to list all the members of a group.
    There're only two similar methods in the oracle OID java API. Group.isMember() and Util.getGroupMemberShip().
    Is there something like Group.getGroupMembers(), or Util.getGroupMembers()?
    If not, do I have to query the OID myself? Thanks!

    Hi,
    You can do it using JNDI - e.g: I have posted a code snippet here that shows my isGroupMember method. The method checks if a user belongs to a Group
    * The method isMemberInGroup checks if a user is a member of a group. The
    * method relies on the Context provided by the calling method.
    * @throws java.lang.Exception
    * @throws javax.naming.NamingException
    * @return bIsMemberInGroup true, if the user is a member of the group.
    * @param objDirContext the DirContext provided by the calling method.
    * @param strGroupDN the DN of the Group.
    * @param strMemberDN the DN of the Member.
    public boolean isMemberInGroup(String strMemberDN,
    String strGroupDN,
    DirContext objDirContext)
    throws NamingException, Exception
    SearchControls objSearchControls = new SearchControls();
    String[] strAttributes = new String[]{};
    String strFilter = null;
    boolean bIsMemberInGroup          = false;
    NamingEnumeration objNamingEnumeration;
    try
    objSearchControls.setReturningAttributes(strAttributes);
    objSearchControls.setSearchScope(SearchControls.OBJECT_SCOPE);
    strFilter = "(&(uniquemember="+strMemberDN+")(objectclass=groupOfUniqueNames))";
    objNamingEnumeration = objDirContext.search(strGroupDN, strFilter, objSearchControls);
    bIsMemberInGroup = objNamingEnumeration.hasMore();
    catch(NamingException objNamingException)
    ExceptionHandler.handle(objNamingException);
    catch(Exception objException)
    ExceptionHandler.handle(objException);
    return bIsMemberInGroup;
    }// end of isMemberInGroup method
    You can find many such examples on popular Java Websites....

  • Any java API to get the metadata for a deployed bpel process in soa/bpm11g?

    Hi,
    Just wonder if this is possible, that there is some existing java api to retrieve the metadata (containing activities, isSynchrous, version information etc) for a deployed bpel process? If not, is there any other way to achieve this goal ( or example query database table directly)?
    I can only find this link for soa11g java api. I am able to invoke the bpel process using this API(direct binding) from java client.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/apirefs.1111/e10659/index.html?overview-tree.html
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bin

    What I find so far:
    1. can get some process property values from ComponentInstance class, see its api.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/apirefs.1111/e10659/oracle/soa/management/facade/ComponentInstance.html
    Please refer http://blogs.oracle.com/soabpm/2009/07/soa_suite_11g_api_tricks_part.html of how to get the component instance (contain the bpel process) from a composite object
    2. in dev_soainfra database schema, the CUBE_INSTANCE table contains most of soa bpel components information. The BPM_CUBE_PROCESS table seems to contain only the process defined in a bpm application. This sounds a little confused, if we want to develop a bpel application, should it be put in soa or bpm application and what is the difference?
    Please feel free to correct any mistakes here.
