Java Applet fails to run after JRE upgrade

I had JRE 1.6 which was updated to 1.8.0_31. After this update my applet has stopped working and I am getting below error

I am using Jboss server and the server.xml file has been updated to use the correct Keystore and certificate using SSL. Below is what I am Using:

I have added the https site which I am trying to access in the exception list of both the browser and JAVA control Panel. Cleared the cache of both and have also deleted the user certificate to ensure the latest certificate gets downloaded.
Kindly help to know the resolution steps.

I was able to remove the above issue by unchecking and checking back the "Enable java content on browser" check box in the java control panel.
Still I am facing issues when the application is used by external set of users.
I observe that there are 2 sets of exceptions
1. Connection timeout
2. Class not getting loaded

Some applets fail to run after installing jre 1.5/5.0

I have a big problem. After installing java runtime environment 5.0 / 1.5, some java applets from sites no longer work. I can view certain java applets, but strangely, some applets do not work. For example, when I try to log into the Hushmail account <www.hushmail.com>, the applet fails to load properly. I enabled tracing and logging and this is the output from the console:

Strangely, there is a message "JSS package is not found" from the console output above. What is this error and how do I rectify the problem so that I can view all applets without any problems?

Loading Java Applet Failed in CRM 2007 Web Client Marketing

We have recently upgraded our CRM 4.0 sp6 system to CRM 2007. As part of this upgrade we configured the SAP Best Practice Building Blocks. Logging on to the webclient using the user MKT_MAN (assigned business role BP_MKT_MAN) we get an error when trying to run the Marketing Calendar. the error we get is that "Loading Java Applet Failed" the specific applet in question is: Applet com.sap.crm.mkt.calendar.applet.MktCalendar notinited
We have implemented the following SAP notes to try and rectify the issue but with no success:
Note 1177590 - Version 2.0 of Marketing Calendar java applet
Note 1237477 - Marketing Calendar is not displayed, Tensegrity Library
Any ideas as to what can resolve this issue

I have exactly the same problem, using IE 6.0 & JRE 1.4.2_07.
What I have found is that users in my company with the same configuration on their machines, same settings as above can load the Marketing Calendar without issue.
Have loaded the same notes as yourself already.
I have managed to get it to working by switching off my proxy settings entirely. This is fine for testing but of no use for go live.
I have also found that when it does finally load successfully it is incredibly slow in comparison to other functionality within the WEB UI.
Thus far I have logged an OSS Message regarding this matter, could I recommend you do the same, this should encourage SAP that the issue is not isolated.

Loading Java Applet Failed : Getting Red "X"

Hi all
I have JRE 1.6.0_07 loaded on my machine. When i try to access a particular website from my machine i can see an orange Java Logo and then after some time i get a "Red" "X" on top left with a message in bottom of browser

I am Using IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsb_sp2...on a Windows XP SP2 Professional .
I also get a Error Message as

Applet does not start after JRE 1.5 installation

Hi,
When I go to my webpage where I have an applet that requires Java 1.5..the browsers are prompting for Java installation (ActiveX component install on IE or Firefox plugin for JRE installation). But once the Java install completes the applet does not start automatically. The same code used to work nicely with Java 1.4. The applet used to automatically start and run once the JRE install completed. But with JRE 1.5 it does not start. If I do a refresh on the browser it again prompts for java installation. If I open new browser window and go to the URL the applet starts. Please let me know how to get the applet to start automatically after JRE 1.5 installation.

We figured out the problem. the CLASSID was not the right one. Once we changed it...its working fine.

Java Applets do not run when UAC is enabled on Windows 7

HI,
I'm deploying Java 6.0_26-b03+ on Windows 7 and experiencing following problem:
Java applets do not run as standard domain users in Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 when UAC is enabled (i.E. http://www.java.com/de/download/installed.jsp). When logged on as Administrator or start IE9 as Administrator java applets do run.
If I diable UAC an log on as normal user then applets do run. Applets then still run if UAC is re-enabled again. It seems that UAC needs to be disabled for the Java Plug-In to register something in user context (assumption). If this registration happended Java applets do run also for standard Windows 7 users if UAC is enabled.
Since we're planning a corporate Windows 7 rollout (>800PCs) we cannot do this manually on every computer. Ther must be any solution for this problem.
Does anybody have the same problem and has already found a solution?

My ITunes library failed to start after an upgrade, now I'm unable to open or re-install. Receive an error message stating that "apple mobile device failed to start, check to see that you have sufficient priveleges to run system". Any help with this? I've tried un-installing and downloading only to get the same message again.

Anyone have problems getting Office 2004 to run after Lion upgrade?

Loading Java Applet Failed...Anyone please help.

I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3
Package: c17UPackage
Java Applet: C17UPoloTestApplet.java
Applet Html: C17UPoloTestHtml.html
When I run C17UPoloTestHtml.html using Embedded OC4J server the HTML pages give me this error "Applet c17UPackage.view.C17UPoloTestApplet notinited" and "Loading Java Applet Failed...".
In the Java Console it give me this error:

All the package(c17UPackage, oracle.jbo, oracle.binding, oracle.adf, com.jgoodies and com.sun) I store in the same directory as applet html(C17UPoloTestHtml.html).
How to solve this problem? Anyone please help?

In one of my project i tried to load applet using the <jsp:plugin> tag but failed. Since i had less time so i have not done the R&D instead i called the applet as
<applet id="MyApplet" code="MyApplet.class\" archive=\"MyApplet.jar\" width=5 height=3/>and it worked fine for me. You can try this method.
NOTE: My applet jar file was in the same directory of my JSP page

File Uploader Java Applet cannot be run

I have a website that I need to upload PDFs to, but since ugrading to Lion, I cannot do it any more. I have downloaded the separte Java app, but it still does not work.
This is the error message I get:

Thank you etresoft - that did not solve the problem. However, I did fix it by changing something in Java Preferences (which is located in the Utilities Folder).
I first deleted the cache files as you suggested in the Network tab. Then I quit and restarted Firefox. I still got the same error message when I tried to upload.
Then, I went back into Java Preferences and checked the box, "Enable Appplet Plug-in and Webstart Applications" located in the General Tab. I then quit and restarted Firefox. Now I am able to upload documents as I could before Lion.

VirtualBox fails to run after upgrade

After upgrading VirtualBox (binary) from 2.1.0 to 2.1.2 yesterday it fails to start with a pop-up error message:
Failed to create VirtualBox COM object.
Callee RC: NS_ERROR_ABORT (0x80004004)
I did run vbox_build_module and follow the other instructions.
This thread: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=13626 leads me to believe that this issue is related to HAL.
I have downgraded to 2.1.0, by running:
pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/virtualbox_bin-2.1.0-1.pkg.tar.gz
and am happily again using Rosetta Stone. However, I would not like my system to become out-of-date. Any tips?

The same problem happens after uninstalling / upgrading from VirtualBox 2.1.0. The solution is
rm -rf /var/lib/dkms/vboxnetflt

Xcode failed to run after upgrade to lion

Xcode 4 will not run after upgrading to Lion. When I run Xcode 4 I get this message:
I got Xcode 3 to run after installing JavaForMacOSX10.7 from Apple download.

There is a free update to XCode 4.1 in the Mac App Store for Lion.

Some Java applets do not work after silent installation, solved by toggling "Enable Java content in the browser" - Why?

We have about 1,800 workstations running Windows 7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit) running various versions of the Java JRE from 6 update 32 through 7 update 51. Most are on 6 update 45. We would like to standardize on Java 7 update 51 (32-bit) and get everyone updated to that version for security reasons.
For the past two weeks, we have been having trouble with our installation pre-pilot. What we are seeing is that our procedure successfully closes any open Internet Explorer windows and Java-related processes, uninstalls all old versions of the Java JRE, and then claims to have successfully installed Java 7 update 51. The Java Control panel works. We can even take Internet Explorer to Verify Java Version or Java Tester - What Version of Java Are You Running? and confirm that the Java applets on those sites are loading (though the latter only works after adding the site to the exceptions site list); however, when testers try to access our Kronos Workforce Central 6.3.10 system, the Java applets used by that system do not load.
We have tried the following things, none of which worked:
Clear Internet Explorer browser cache and cookies.
Clear the local Java cache.
Reboot the computer.
Reset Internet Explorer settings, including personal settings.
The one thing which does work is going into the Java Control Panel, going to the Security tab, unchecking "Enable Java content in the browser", pressing Apply, pressing OK on the pop-up window, checking the "Enable Java content in the browser" box again, pressing OK, pressing OK on the pop-up window, and then restarting Internet Explorer. It is only after this point that all Java applets, including the ones used by Kronos Workforce Central 6.3.10, work.
What I need to know is how I can automate the procedure of reinitializing the "Enable Java content in the browser" checkbox after installation or am I doing something wrong or missing a step in the automated installation that is causing this to happen?
We are using Microsoft SCCM 2007 R3 to accomplish this upgrade, and everything is being run on the client machine using the SYSTEM account. First, the PowerShell script "javaclean.ps1" is run, with part of the command-line process changing the PowerShell script execution policy to Bypass. This script handles the closing of Java-dependent applications and Java processes and uninstalls old Java versions.

It turns out that this is actually a problem with Kronos Workforce Central. We had the "site.java.plugin.CLSID.familyVersion" setting in that application set to "clsid:CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-FFFF-ABCDEFFEDCBA", which is the Java CLSID for Java 6. After updating this value to "clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93" (the Java universal CLSID), this problem did not occur upon the automatic upgrade of Java.
We have both Java 6 and Java 7 in our environment, and did during our Kronos implementation, so I don't know why we were using the Java 6 CLSID in the first place.

Java Applet fails loading JAR files

I'm using the OC4J setup with my Oracle forms (10g) install, this was working but no longer.
I get the message below when running the test.fmx from the Oracle Forms Services test page for each of the JAR files attempting to load.
I comment out the ARCHIVE statement but it still fails with
'java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:oracle.forms.engine.Main' on the applet window.
