Java Code in a text file

Hi,
I need an information if whether anything like this can be done in java or not !!
The requirement is to place the jave code statements into a text file and dynamically execute these statements which have been placed in the file. for eg: if a text file "test.txt" contains a statement
System.out.println("Hello world"); without the class being defined or the main method being defined. I need to execute this statement and print out hello world on the console.
is this possible ???
I would be using JDK 1.2 or 1.3 for this but certainly not 1.4.x and above
please do let me know if this problem can be tackled in anyway !!
Thanks in advance !

I'd suggest first checking to see if the code in question would also be valid code in an interpreted language like Javascript, Groovy, or BeanShell.
If it is, then use an interpreter for the appropriate language, an interpreter written in Java and which you can plug into the Java program you're using.
Otherwise, I suppose you could wrap a class and method around the code, and compile and run that.

    Hi,
I’m working on WC Spaces Customization library “com.acme.custom.webcenter.spaces.war”. From time to time, when I deploy the library to WC Server, it errors out.
    weblogic.management.DeploymentException: Cannot undeploy library Extension-Name: com.acme.custom.webcenter.spaces, Specification-Version: 11.1.1, Implementation-Version: 11.1.1.2.113 from server WC_Spaces, because the following deployed applications reference it: webcenter-rest.war, spaces.war, sharepoint-servlet.war, webcenter-rss.war
If I try to login the Spaces, I get “Java code in jsp source files is not allowed in ojsp.next mode.” Should I stop the Spaces server before the deployment? In this case, other people won’t have accesses to Spaces? The deployment error doesn’t happen all the time.

I don't think that this error is based on ojsp.next mode. The first error I see is that the application can't be undeployed. After that you get the 'ava code in jsp source files is not allowed in ojsp.next mode.' error. As you said this only happens sometimes which also point to an other problem and not to the jsp error.
Have you ask this on the {forum:id=354} forum?
    For me it's more a deployment/redeployment question.

  • Execute code from a text file ...

Hello ,  Would like to know whether it is possible to have my ABAP code in a text file in desktop and then execute the code by reading it into an ITAB in another ABAP program .
Note : Pl. dont suggest how to upload and create a new program . I dont want to create a new program after uploading into ITAB using INSERT or function modules . I want to execute the code as part of the uploading program only . So that once the execution is complete the uploaded code will not be available in the SAP system.
    Thanks in advance ,

Oh dear.  The only solution to your requirement is, sadly, to upload and create a new program, and then one further step.  There is no other way.  So it looks like you'll have to do without.

  • Using java to call a text file

I am new to java and was wondering if there is a way of using java to call a text file on my server and use it to create a webpage using a template. Namely to click a link to a poem, and have the java automatically create a page from a text file of the poetry. I need to know if this is even possible, what I would need to look into, (IE: which software or applet to look for), and if there are any sites that anyone knows about that I could learn how to do this. currently I am having to create a page for every poem posted on my site, which takes a great deal of time, and I would like to speed the process up a bit if it is possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Why a text file? I don't think it is a best practice of doing that. Just use a database, keep your poem collections there, and set up a jsp page that seek the database, and then display it on another jsp page. I guess you can find similar application in the sample projects provided by JSC.

  • Java code to generate XML File from XML Schema

Hi I need this asap... "Java code to generate XML File from XML Schema i.e XML Schema Definition, XSD file".
    Thankz in advance...

JAXB has been available as an early release download for some time. There are also XML Binding packages available from Borland (JBuilder) and Castor. These tools create Java classes from a source document, xml,dtd etc. You can use these classes to marshal-unmarshal XML documents.

  • How to know theis a space or carrier return when java read read a text file

    Hi,
    Please help.
How to know theis a space or carrier return when java read read a text file.
for example a text like this:
    5
<---how to let tell java they is a space here
    item1
    item1
    item1
    item1
    item1
<---how to let tell java they is a space here
    item2
    item2
    item2
    item2
    item2

    hi!
The reason is that. I want to use java for loop to read each part of value. for example: first part is the items name. After the space (I need to tell java when this is a space here and its need to skip) , following by the items prices in double value and space again (need to skip also) and etc.
    item name1
    item name2
    item name3
    item name4
    item name5
<--- here is the space to skip and another loop to read following items prices
    item price1
    item price2
    item price3
    item price4
    item price5
<--- here is another spcae again. and so on
Thank in advance for your help.

  • Logging java errors to a text file, please help.

Could someone please advise how to log java errors to a text file?
I know from Window you can do to "ANY COMMAND > C:\log.txt and the output will send to the log.txt text file.
However, how do you log errors when you run java filename? Wish I could just copy and paste from my Window command prompt screen.
I am just trying to post the errors I receive to the forum.
    Thanks,

  • Redirecting the output of java compilation to a text file

i tried to redirect the result of the java compilation to the text file using
    javac zz.java > compile.txt
It works if the program has no errors and it did not work if it have errors. Wat is the reason it did not work for wrong programs.

This has nothing to do with Java. It's your command shell.
If you're on linux, then it's because the errors go to stderr and you're only redirecting stdout. I assume Windows is similar, but I don't know much about that.
For bourne shell family on linux (sh, ksh, bash, zsh), you'd do
javac zz.java > compile.txt 2>&1I'm not sure what the syntax is for csh family.

when i run it this is all i get:

  • Need Java code for random text.

To all you Java programmer Gurus out there.
How hard is it to make a small Java program whose whole purpose is to ask a user how many random characters they want and then proceeds to generate a text file full of RANDOM characters A-Z and a-z ?
The characters could repeat it does not matter as long as they repeat randomly.
I've found all kinds of code examples for Random password generators and things like that but none quite do what I want them to do.
sample of what the output file might look like

  • Developing Java code to use WSDL files

    Hello,
I was wondering if it was possible to develop a program that took in a URI to a WSDL file, have my code read the file and access the date from the web service described in the WSDL file. My program will then read the data that is accessed from the service write the data to a file, for example a text file. Nothing special, I just need to access and pull the data. I have been looking throughout the web for a while now and have not been able to find any tutorial that describes how to do this. Is this even possible with a web service and would anyone know of a tutorial that describes how to do this? Thank you in advance.
