Java on Win CE
Hi,
I want to know if I can run my Java program on Win CE. Is there a runtime environment for this operating system that could be installed into the Win CE device?
I couldn't find enough resources or articles for that.
Can someone at least point me to correct stuff?
I dont know what do I need to write to clarify my problem, so I need your help.
Thanks in advance,
Ali
Hello you two,
I couldn4t get the connection with Java also, I tried for one month, so do you have a solution for this?
Second (and more urgent):
I've got the following message on my pocketPC during the synchronization with consolidatorclient :
"duplicate keys in unique/primary keys"
Do you know this error and do you know a solution??
Thanx for help

Hello Mr. Summers,
Perhaps you are a bit surprised because you postet your question in 1999 but I have looked through nearly all entries about Oracle 8i Lite because I have the same Problem and I hope that you have some news after the past two years...
I am also trying to programm the OKAPI but there is a mystirious thing. In the documentation they are writing about a function called okInit. I couldn4t find this function in any of the headerfiles...

Installing Java on Win XP Home
Hi,
I've seen lots of topics discussing installation problems of Java with Win XP. Does Sun have any documentation which covers this installation and FAQs to installation problems? A document like this would help a lot of people who use Java.
A few questions:
As XP does not come with Dos, we have now got no command window for setting classpaths, compiling, executing etc, how do we overcome this?
Unfortunately some of us have been forced to use XP.
Anyone know of how to create a dual boot of operating systems, maybe XP and a version of Linux/other Win OS?
Thanks PWell, I would rather say "thanks god" Windows 2000/XP exist. Java and Win95/98/Me is just no good solution. :-)
Now, for the command window:
Right click My-Computer and open Properties. Select Advanced, and then click on "environment variables". On "System variables" (in case you want them for all users), you should have a path. There you should add your bin directory (ie: c:\jdk\bin). If no classpath is defined, you can define it.
Now you are done, just go to start, execute and type "cmd", there you have your command window. On Win-XP it even has unix-like functions like the "tab" to complete long file names so you don't have to type them.
About the dual boot issue, use the Grub boot-loader. It comes with most new versions of Linux (RedHat 7.3+ has it). -
Error "disk_not_accessible" when installing NW7.0 Java on Win XP
Hello,
I'm trying to install the SAP NW 7.0 Java Edition trial on Windows XP.
The process fails at step 14 of 40 when creating the database. The symptoms and error are identical to the ones described in [this thread|Installation of SAPNW2004sJavaSP9_Trial;.
I added another 32GB disk and installed it on there - no joy.
I tried logging on with dbmcli and executing the same commands I found in the log file manually - same message.
This is on a brand new Windows installation: Win XP Pro SP2 + J2SDK 1.4.2_18. Tried on a clean Win XP SP3 setup as well.
Any ideas would be welcome.
Cheers,

How can I activate Java in Win 7 and Firefox 9?
I need to log into a site that requires Java. I am running Window 7 64bit home Ed and Firefox 9.0.1. Java 64 is installed but does not show up in Firefox. I can find no troubleshooting info anywhere on your site regarding this problem
Firefox 9.0.1 is a 32-bit browser. No scheduled release date for a 64-bit version of Firefox at this time, as far as I know. Read the following from the Java site, especially the last sentence in the section "Summary":

Running Java with Win XP Pro SP2
Hi all.
I have a website that I am trying to access. It has AEP on it and when I click on the login it is meant to run a java applet and then log my into another pc.
Another window pops up and quickly says java but then displays the x in the top coner of the white window.
I think it might be a setting issue somewhere - maybe in GPO or registry.
Do you know where I would check?
Thanks
MartinHave you tried using the "test service" option in NetBeans first? It appears to me that an element may be incorrectly typed or defined. Perhaps you can translate that exception for the english speaking folk in order to help them gain more insight?

Can anyone help with how to install Java on Win Server 2012 RDS
I am trying to install Java on my RD Host Server and have tried several times to install both the 32 and 64 bit clients. Both complete but when I try to verify, I think the 32-bit version launches, but never fully resolves the applet. I get
a grey box, but nothing more. I have tried several method of installs but nothing seems to work.technically it should be under install mode but it doesn't really seem to matter in most cases
the most important part is that you allow the java controls to run in IE when prompted, if that's not done then it won't be allowed for your remote desktop users
you can also validate this by going to the manage add-ons section in IE, select all add-ons and look for items under Oracle, make sure they're enabled for all sites in the more info section
once you're confident it's working for you as an admin, then we can tackle any user issues which are usually caused by IE hardening and JRE7's strict security settings which you may also want to look into
personally I've had issues with activex filtering feature and enhanced protected mode options - disable them both -
[NOOB warning] Getting Java to install under wine
Having junked windows, I find myself in need of java under wine, but cannot get any version recognized. I have Fedora Core 5, wine-0.9.24, and mail from the Irish Revenue to read, which needs java to log in. I have jre1.5.0_09 showing in the wine uninstaller, and j2se-1.42_01. The about:plugins in Seamonkey (under wine) shows java capability. But when I try to install the Irish Revenue software, or run java executables, it just spews errors and dies
Irish Revenue offline Software http://www.ros.ie/PublisherServlet/info/install
does this::
cmd: "C:\windows\temp\I1166476762\Windows\resource\jre\bin\javaw.exe" -Xms16777216 -Xmx50331648 -classpath "C:\windows\temp\I1166476762\InstallerData\IAClasses.zip;C:\windows\temp\I1166476762\Windows\resource\jdglue.zip; (snip)
IAClasses.zip is not unarchived.
Trying to log in without the software shows that the java engine is not recognized :-). The software seems to be a java install, with it's own java engine creating a unique directory each time and using that engine to run the install. All this is way over my head. Any ideas for me?I could be wrong, but nothing I find says Java will Run in Wine. See

J2EE_ADMIN has no Port Role in ABAP+JAVA stacks system
I installed 2004s BI IDES SR2 with ABAP+JAVA on Win 2003 + Oracle, default client 800.
I find the J2EE runs fine, I can log into SDM, configtools. And I can launch
http://host:50000/index and http://host:50000/irj/portal, which mean the portal is up.
But with http:host:50000/index.html, I can't goto http://host:50000/useradmin, nor http://host:50000/nwa
The error message is:
Application cannot be started.
Details: com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.ExceptionInfo: Naming error.
with http://host:50000/irj/portal, both j2ee_admin and sap* can log in, but without any portal role. Thus
only logoff link available, and I can't do anything else.
I read through all the related post and can't figure out a way to assign the portal role to j2ee_admin or create additional portal user, anyone can help my situation.
I also can not log into Visual Admin with j2ee_admin, connect error:
Error while connecting
com.sap.engine.services.jmx.exception.JmxSecurityException: Caller J2EE_ADMIN not authorized, only role administrators is allowed to access JMX
(which I checked sap_j2ee_admin role is green on su01 role tab with correct valid period.)
what should I do?
ThanksThanks for prompt reply, Debasis.
Could you please elaborate the steps I need to take? Thanks.
eg. how do I "Assign a user a role that has the permission for the UME action JMX.JmxManageAll"
I don't have any portal tools working properly yet, I don't have useradmin, and I don't have nwa. I don't even have visual admin. Everything I do in ABAP, pfcg, su01, seems have no effect to those portal functionalities.
The fact that I enable emergency sap* from configtool also doesn't make useradmin / nwa work...
Any idea? Thank you. -

Download and install java - help
hi all,
i am just entering into the world of java.
i need some help in downloading and installing java.

i downloaded both and installed one and tried to run a sample program.

i am really confused to start things - can anyone help me for a kick off start in java (in win xp)

mikeHi,
From your message, i think u didnt set the classpath dats y the javac din work
Go to your jdk directory\bin file
Eg. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_07\bin
Next set the environment variable
My Computer -->Properties -->Advanced-->Environment Variables
Look for path and add the jdk directory\bin into it and u can start using javac to compile.

Comments in DNS/DHCP Java console not editable after SP2
Upgraded to OES11 SP2 (on SLES11 SP3) and now when using the DNS/DHCP Java console (Win 64) we get the following error when attempting to edit or create a comment for a host: "This functionality is not supported in this version of OES DHCP Server"
Is it correct that we can not use the comments field any more? no note of that as a change in the docs...
Thanks for any assistance.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem, but have to add: I think it's not just the comment field. Applying any changes after creating a record throws this error. -
WAS 6.40 Dialog Instance Installation
Hi,
I am installing a dialog instance for our WAS 6.40 JAVA on Win 2003 with ORacle DB. During the installation I get the following error.

The is no special arguments for a dialog instance installation in documentation. So I did run SAPINST and selected dialog instance installation. Is something missing?
