Javabeans and Forms

Are there any white papers or documentation that teaches how to create and use a javabean in Oracle Forms? I've looked at a couple of the demos but most of the documentation just seems to describe the PJC or javabean and none of the demos seem to work on the link http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/products/forms/index.html. Also, the demos for 10g rel 2 are still not available. For us developers with only a little or no java knowledge the task of understanding how to use this technology with forms is pretty discouraging

I've looked at this site and it's pretty good and I think I might be able to get an existing bean working. The problem is that I have several developers on my project with essentially no java experience (they've taken a java class but haven't written anything outside of the class) and I'd like to get them started using this technology. How did you get startred? Some of my developers will be attending an Oracle University Forms class in mid April, but based on the class summary it doesn't appear that they even teach anything about javabeans.

How to setup a javabean on form to let user loading to client PC

What is the step-by-step to create a javabean on form and how to set the properties on the javabean (TextItem) which
can let user loading/save the output file to his/her PC drive instead of to the server drive. On my form I used Text_IO, it worked fined only if you run the form on client/server environmnet but when you run it on the web, it output the file to server.
Metalink told me to user do compile a java program and create the .class to jar file, I did everything accordingly, but they do not tell me how to set up on the form, I need the coding how to code everything on form on when-button-pressed trigger. Thank you very much.

You have a modem/router or gateway type of device here.
It is the Arris that is acting as the main router for your network......that is why the AirPort and Time Capsule need to be in Bridge Mode.
You need to set up port forwarding on the Arris gateway since it is the router for your network.
Contact Arris support for details on how to configure port forwarding on the gateway.
Once you have port forwarding setup on the Arris gateway, the AirPort and Time Capsule will pass those settings through to connected devices since they are configured in Bridge Mode.

I am trying to use JavaBeans in Forms 6.0. I have followed the
directions laid out in the Oracle Developer 6.0 Reviewers Guide
for using the JugglerBean component. Whenever I set the
implementation class, I get an error FRM-13008: Cannot find
JavaBean.
Does anyone know of any documentation that exists on how to do
this? Or has anyone else had any luck using JavaBeans within
forms?

Jill - make sure that the Java classes are stored in the correct
package structure and are placed in the directory that is
pointed to by the FORMS60_JAVADIR registry entry. Typically
this is \orant\forms60\java on the installation drive.
but rest assured, it does work! It looks great to see the
JavaBean actually display in the layout editor.

what is the diffrence between a javabean and entreprise jvaabeans! i mean which are the uitilization featires of eaxh one !

i am seeking for a solution for my problem , in fact i ma trying to implement and develop an application with java that allows a certain range of IP adresses to be connected to a database server in order to extract the suitable data from the server .
let me explain mor ethe suitation , in fact what i am loking for is to use javabeans to grant my application much more consistence and pertinence : si i am asking if it could be possible to use javabeans in my case especially if i am not trying to developp a web application but a cleint /server one allowing some services.
The application is in fact dealing with a stock exchange market and what i am trying to do is to grant particilar registrated customers to have the informations that they need ( portofolio, currency's status, market indicators, .) also drawing some charts decribing rates, variations, and others specefic financial caracterestics .So , if we consider that this application is not a web application ( no HTTP request and no servers like apache or others ) how it is possible to use javabeans and not EJB to build the application? i mean what could be suitable and preferable to rely on and dvelop to ensure a good java application !!

use RMI to code the services and (Updateable) Value Objects to pass the information between tiers.
RMI is an all-java distributed component framework (ie. EJB, CORBA, DCE/RPC, DCOM, etc.), that is very suitable for developing non-containerized multi-tier applications. Refer to the RMI trail in the Java Tutorial as a starting point for coding RMI solutions (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/index.html). Under this scenario you would code the database access service as an RMI service (server-side). Client/server communication should be facilitated through the use of JavaBeans/classes that wrap the information being passed (customer information, portfolio details, market information, etc.) - these are refered to as 'Updateable Value Objects' (a design pattern). Graphing and charting would be handled in your client from the information received from the (RMI) server. GUI JavaBeans can be used to provide this functionality as well as other client-side services. There are numerous "shrink-wrapped" components for GUIs available on the market just peruse any Java magazine to find them.

Accessible PDF files and forms

I am beside myself with the lack of help and/or interest in the Accessiblity area. We have been mandated to make all our PDF files accessible on our Web site. We have been able to master many of the issues regarding tags and form fields, but still have questions regarding updating the original PDFs without loosing the tag structure.
Is there any options on the Adobe site that may concentrate on this area? I called tech support yesterday (Bronze contract), was on hold for 10 mins and got disconnected. After leaving my number, they never called me back again.

The point was not having to create the tags again in a new file before
replacing the pages containing the form fields in the old file. We have
many forms that get updated right up to the last minute and to go through
the tagging process is too time consuming. We do not use PDF Maker, but
produce all the PDFs directly out of InDesignCS3 to Adobe Acrobat
Professional (Distiller).

I am really suggesting replacing all of the pages. I was thinking that the
tag structure would go with the replacement and you would need to create
the other PDF with PDF Maker to keep the tagging. I may be wrong, but that
was the view I had. If you replace a single page, I am not sure what might
happen since that would generally not be done with PDF Maker.
Since you already have the application process going, it is probably
easiest for you to try the variations on replacing pages and such --
basically what I would be doing.

I inadvertently typed in a wrong account number which now shows up in the Account # drop down box. Is there some way that I can clear this (or all) entry and still let Firefix remember search and form entry? Thanks Mike Callahan

The Scottrade web sight requires an account number as well as a password to log in. I inadvertently typed in an incorrect number and would like to eliminate it from the 'remembered' accounts. My only solution seems to be to turn off Remember Search and Form Entry but that impacts the correct account numbers and all other web sites as well.

Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
Highlight an entry in the drop down list
Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Mater data text loading from a DSO to a InfoObject has failed in the process Chain at DTP step while trying to extract Data packet 2 from the DSO.
In the log i am getting following error message:
"System error in program SAPLRS_EXCEPTION and form RS_EXCEPTION_TO_MESSAGE (see long text)
Message no. BRAIN299".
Please help urgent.

I could resolve the issue since there were lot of issues after system copy.
1. During distribued to Cenrtal system - system copy.
You need to combine both DB and CI export copies in one folder during which one thing can happen.
SOURCE.PROPERTIES - this file will be there in DB export JAVA folder and also CI export JAVA folder where
DB SOURCE.PROPERTIES file doesn't have an entry of "src.ci.host". This will stop the SAPINST with error and after modifying the file "SOURCE.PROPERTIES" Traget System Copy finishes without any issue.
Then after this stage I encountered an issue with bind hosts entry in config tool which was due to virtual host name usage in my HACMP setup due to whcih JAVA gives a startup problem.
I eliminated this issue also.
After JAVA started I faced an issue with XI related navigations.
ecchangeProfile url still had an entry of Production System. This may be a bug.
After changing that entry, exchangeProfile was downloaded but it had all the source system host entries which were manually changed.
Now I can access all the XI related navigations.
I need to also perfrom SGEN and Profiles import.
Do I need to change any additional settings after this so that my production and DR can work without any issue?
Do you have any additional checks which I can perfrom to ensure my DR systems consistency before I start the log shipping from Production?

FormConnect (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/formconnect/id432653695?mt=8&ls=1) can handle the filling out, signing, saving and emailing the contracts/forms but uploading the contract and the form is going to be a challenge because you’re dealing with paper documents that have to be scanned. If you can convert the scanned documents into an OCR program, you might be able to copy and paste the contract without having to retype it but the form itself is probably going to have to be recreated. Alternatively, you could use a document annotation program such as iAnnotate and mark up the contract with ink.

HCM Processes and Forms: Work Item is not opening

We are implementaing HCM processes and forms using NWBC (EHP7 - HR Renewal 2.0 FP1) and after using configuration of POWL inbox for MSS and HR Admin, We are not able to launch the Work Item.
1) In MSS Work Book, while launching, we are getting message -
Failed to resolve Object Based Navigation target ".MSS_WL.NAVIGATE_FORM_WD". Use transaction PFCG to define this OBN target in a role or contact your system administrator to assign a role with the relevant OBN entries to your user.
2) For HR Admin, we are getting message - Work Item can only be open using Portal and UWL. and it is displaying back end transaction SWNWIEX.
Detail configuration steps are shown as below -
Workflow Task used in configurations -
1) Entries in IBO_C_WF_TA_P_SC (Assign Task ID’s to POWL Types)
2) IBO_C_WF_ACC configuration - (Define Tasks and Actions)
3) IBO_C_WF_APC configuration (Provide Details of navigation parameters)
