JavaFX 2: How to style an series of multiple AreaCharts

Hello -
I want to display 3 AreaCharts on one scene, each chart containing 1 series. And I want to assign a different color to each of these series. Whats the best way to do it without a performance hit?
I know the standard way to change the series style from css for an areachart - But that will apply to all 1st series of all the 3 AreaCharts
I also know that I can use chart.lookup() and loop through the nodes and set style on each node. But my series keeps changing every 2 secs, with additional data attached. I would like to avoid looking up the nodes and changing their style each time. Isnt there a way to just onetime set the style for each of the series in each of the AreaCharts?

Why not define three styles in css, each with different colors for their series, and apply one style to each AreaChart?
