Javascript called from actionscript not working properly

I have a flash file that I want to change the background of
an HTML frame when Scene2 begins. The code I have works fine in
Safari and gives the desired result. However, calling it from
firefox own Win IE, results in the javascript being placed in the
address bar, and the name of the bkg image placed in the upper left
corner.

yes that's quite correct although you'll find it's much more
robust to
put all your javascript into functions, which should be
stored in an
external .js file. That way, if you need to change anything
you mostly
won't need to go into flash at all, just edit the function in
the .js
file. Having the external .js then allow you to include the
same
functionality on different pages in your site whilst keeping
all
functions in one place.

  • Javascript calls via getURL not working anymore

    After upgrading to flash player 9,0,115,0 a simple call like
    getURL("javascript(alert'message')); doesn't work anymore on
    Internet Explorer (it fails without any error in policyfiles.txt,
    but it still work on Firefox). My IE version is 7.
    I can't use ExternalInterface 'cause i need to publish as
    Flash Player 7 AS2.0.

    I have a similar problem. When running a local HTML file,
    using IE7 and FP 9,0,115,0, all the getURL function calls cease to
    work.
    If I downgrade to FP8, still using IE7, everything works.
    If I downgrade to IE6, still using FP9.0.115.0, everything
    works.
    If I load the HTML via HTTP (instead of local), using IE7 and
    FP9.0.115.0, everything works.
    If I use Firefox, with FP9.0.115.0, everything works.
    So, the function calls fail only when the swf is contained on
    a
    local HTML file, using
    IE7, and
    FP9.0.115.0. The problem is, most of our customers have that
    software profile, and all of them need to load the content locally
    (its very heavy for network transmission).
    All the getURLs are like this:
    getURL("javascript:someFunction()");
    We're setting the 'allowScriptAccess' to 'always'.
    Also, if we put the OBJECT tag inside the HTML (instead on an
    external JS file), the function calls still do not work.

    I have followed all the steps for turning on the iPhone calling from mac. But still it shows the error like this

    Actually I have found one more input into this. My wifi network supports 802.11b+g+n and not 802.11ac.
    Could this be the possible problem ?    

  • Call Hander transfer not working properly when extension dialed

    In testing my call handers I have found that if you dial an extenstion during the greeting it only transfer to that extension when that extension has mailbox configured on the system.  If the extension in call manager does not have a voice mailbox configured in Unity Connection then the transfer does not work.
    When you dial our main number, the greeting tells the caller that if they know there parties extension they can dial it any time.  This only works for extensions that have mailboxes.
    Do I need to configure mailbox's for every phone even if they are not getting voice mail?  Phones such as breakroom or conference room?

  • [Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t] Waking up from suspend not working properly

    Hi,
    I'm having some issues with getting suspend to work on my S10-3t. I tried pm-utils and the s2ram script (with about any combination of options as my machine is not on the whitelist) and always get the same behaviour: Suspending seems to succeed but waking up takes about 5 minutes.
    I tried using pm-suspend under ubuntu 10.10, works flawlessly out of the box, so it *can* be done.. somehow.
    Apparently this was a kernel related issue in older versions of ubuntu too, I couldn't quite figure out how they fixed it though (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/598664).
    I tailed the pm-suspend.log and kernel.log through one suspend/wake up cycle, here's the output:

    We have an applet in a JSP and that jsp also has a javascript function which is called by body onload tag,
    The applet and the script works fine if the JRE on the client is JRE 1.6.0_13 (classic mode)
    But the applet hangs and throws error when JRE on the client is JRE 1.6.0_13 (next generation)
    Has anyone seen such issues or can give me pointer?

    So you should change it to response.sendRedirect("SecondPage") if your current request is at http://test.com/test/something

  • Pdf's from word not working properly

    Hi, I'm trying to print to acrobat printer and generate pdf's from word 2010. Unfortunately whenever I do it anything that is in the header or footer and any images on the page are completely missing when the pdf appears. Does anyone know how to stop this happening?!? It's driving me crazy.

    Just wanted to correct a possible misconception.
    There is no PDFMaker ribbon available for the 64-bit version of Office 2010. However Acrobat is compatible with Office 2010 in that you can still create PDF files using Acrobat X by printing to the Adobe PDF printer.

    thanks for your help. i am using a sub vi for sine signal generation. as a vi it works fine. but when i called this subvi inside another VI it gives some problems. for example timer indicator works properly.it reinitializes as well in the sub vi, but in the main VI it does not work properly. means does not count the time.in the sub vi on the fly i can change the values of frequency and amplitude in real time, but when i use as sub vi, it does not reponse as i change the values in the control arrays.similarly pause and continue works properly in the sub vi, but once again in the main VI, it does not work properly.graph indicator also work properly in the sub vi. but here once again it does not work properly in the main VI.the pause resume indicator also does not blink, when it is continue. in the subvi it blinks very well.generally why the sub vi does not work properly inside the VI?i am sending my VI and sub vis.

    I just want to add some more details to Dan's answer. The subVI is acting exactly like you've coded it. The mistake is in understanding how subVIs work. When you call a subVI (or a function in any other language), you pass some parameters to it, the subVI does it's thing and returns values. the subVI does not accept new parameters from the calling VI until it returns to the caller and the caller runs the subVI again. In your case, you have a subVI with a while loop. You have some front panel control wired to the subVI's stop terminal. When first called, the value is false. So the subVI will keep running until the subVI's stop button becomes true but you cannot change it from main until the subVI finishes and returns so the subVI will never stop. As Dan says, the solution is pass references of front panel controls to the subVI and have the subVI monitor those references for changes and to update references to indicators on Main. You subVI does not need any front panel controls or indicators of it's own.

    There may be a problem with the SIM card. Get a new SIM card from your carrier - there should be no charge for a replacement.
    If no change with a new SIM card, the standard troubleshooting steps in order are:
    Power your iPhone off and on.
    An iPhone reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
    Restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.
    Restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
    If no change after any of these steps in order, your iPhone has a hardware problem.

    Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
    Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
    I never install system modifications myself, and I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
    Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmyrmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it.     if it play not sound at all then it's likely the hardware issue where the headset detector gets stuck

    I'm going to assume that since you deleted your hard drive and all its files, you had a backup, yes? If the backup has an OS (bootable clone), then you can boot into it by holding down the option key when you start up you iMac and choose the backup drive. Then use Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper to copy the files back to your iMac.
