JavaScript error and CATW record locking problem

Hello,
We're having two problems with ESS (CATW and Personal Information (PZM3)) in EP 6. We have an ITS-R/3 landscape.
The JavaScript problem appears intermittently within Personal Data services (Address, Emergency Contact, ...). The actual error reads "object required" and originates from ITS. A user may be able to click through all the ESS services once fine, but on a second click receive the error. Sometimes they can't use the services at all.
The record locking problem happens in Time Sheet (CATW). Even though a user Saves and Releases the Time Sheet, it remains locked and cannot be approved. Alternatively, some users are experiencing locked records when they try to complete their own time sheets.
I'm not sure if these are related.
Has anyone here seen these problems? Any suggestions are most welcome!

The best way to nail down the javascript error would be to use the firefox JavaScript debugger extension plugin and put the breakpoints where the problem occurs.
This will exactly tell you which object it is looking for which is not found. Moreover you might be able to find that when it is working fine as you said. So give that a try and I am sure you will be able to figure out the problem.
To me this mostly looks like at time some .js file is not coming through to the browser... but this is just a wild guess based on the symptoms.

I have noticed that if someone selects a unique option (that was not considered or tested) that a JS error occurs and then they can submit the requsistion with out any validation.
This causes problem especially if a mandatory field was missed farther down the form.

Interestingly, we've found that in Version 9.1, all errors are trapped and the form locks up (which is a change in behaviour) and we were planning on logging a defect for it! As, when service definitions change over time, it can very rather tricky to unpick absolutely everything without having an impact on the new service definitions (particularly when you have upgraded from 2007.x where ISF was the only way to do anything!).

Database records Locking Problem

hi all,
I had a web page in which i had a pop up window, thru which i ll
display some list of values, where the user can select the multiple
records. Once he selects them,the records gets locked (by updating
those rows with session id), they gets populated in the parent
window, then he can perform some other operation, then the commit/rollback operation takes place.
The problem is once the records are populated in the parent window,
there is a chance to close the window, which causes the rows to get locked.
(i mean connection is not closed).
If the user tries to open the same window again, it never gets opened up,
as the records being locked already. And i do even have a way to find the unclosed connections to close them
please anybody can suggest a good solution for this problem?

Yah, you are correct, but the problem is not with the closing of pop up window.
The problem is with the closing of main window.
In the popup window, I have a button to select records, which causes
the records to get locked and the pop up to gets closed and the records get populated in the main window.
could you suggest something, so that i could communicate the closing event
to the server. I think IE dont have any event of window closing. So what I have to do?
Or atleast can I do something like, blocking window closing and the user has to click on logout button, there I can close the connection.

Javascript error with insert record. Please help!

I contacted Adobe support today and they said to get on these forums as they cant help with coding errors.
When i try to insert a Record I get the following error:

Im running Win 7 64bit
I contacted Adobe support today and they said to get on these forums as they cant help with coding errors.
I have formatted my Pc and reinstalled and the same error comes up. If I try to edit and existing insert record it works fine, when I create a new page and then try to add a new insert recordset i get this erro again.
i have since reinstalled Windows & 32Bit to see if that helped, nope. I have installed no extensions its a clean install.
Any help after spending a small fortune on this software.

I think you are trying to run the program but you don't have the required class POP3Session.class or it's .java file which you can compile.

CCP 2.6 Javascript error and display issues

I am atttempting to run CCP2.6 and have tried clearing cache on IE (temp internet/website files, cookies, history) and removed all Java files including trace/log files, chaced apps and applets , and installed apps and applets.Also ran CCP as admin. Essentially followed all guidelines to solution to discussion "CCP 2.5 Javascript Error" but has not resolved issue.
I still get the error below and the bottom 2/3 of the CCP screen is not displayed/rendered. Content is only rendered within a sliver of entire window size , at top part of the window. It appears as if Java should be rendering content at mid/bottom section of window but never does, although a tempory splash screen does appear as if it is "attempting".

Z1 external connector cover error and sd card connectivity problems

Hi
I have a few problems with my new phone in that I suspect it is faulty
I get this error message despite the covers being firmly closed: 'please close the external connector covers to secure waterproofness' when there is an SD card inside and when there isnt one. This happens everytime I switch the phone on
On the camera: 'memory unnavailable' when accessing camera function having set memory to SD card when it is inserted
It does seem to recognise an SD card in the phone but cannot access any data from it (even though it did before).On inserting SD card comes up with message that it is safe to remove. when going to settings->storage it has 'Mount SD card' in the SD card section
Any ideas before I take it back?

Notifications and passcode screen lock problem

when I use passcode to lock my iPhone. everytimes Notification come to my lock, when I slide it, it will show screen to input passcode to use the iPhone. it's work with messages and any apps, except "miss call" when I slide notification, it automatic to call someone who i miss called, and the important is it not show passcode screen to input the code. it's just calling without input passcode. what should i do? any setting I need to change? or it's Bug of iOS 5.

Connect iPod to the computer you normally use it with (the first one that the iPod synced with) and open iTunes. Then disconnect the iPod from the computer and it should no longer be locked.
If not, you'll have to restore the iPod.

Error -2038: Record locked by another transaction / Internal error occured

Hi, sometimes when I'm trying to update a SO via DI API, I got this error -2038. The error message varies, either: "Internal error occured" or "Record locked by another transaction". Ffor 'record locked' error, the table/field names varies, eg.

Anyway, I'll close this question, even though it's not really solved. I can't find any other user updating the same document, but that -2038 errors still pop up.
Currently I'm using John's approach to retry whenever I got -2038. As long as it works and everybody's happy I guess...

Dreamweaver Error when using Record Insertion Form Wizard

This is the error I'm getting:

The strange thing is, that I've added a form using the wizard before and had no problems. But I deleted the form and wanted to create a new one using the wizard again. And that's when I got the error. I tried this on another computer and got the same error.
Please help, this is very aggrevating.
*Also, I've done the same thing on multiple computers and get the same error.
I've tried deleting the file cache in the configuration folder as instructed by an individual who was talking about JavaScript errors and it still doesn't work.

I know its 4 years later but I just got the same error. after several hours of debugging i found the issue was in my database.
I have fields named - length, width, height, weight.
I fixed it by changing them to Lamplength, lampwi etc
hope that helps anyone else in the future.

Javascript error on launching application from portal

When we launch BW reports from our portal (Netweaver 7.0) , it gives a javascript error and the reports would not launch for some users. The launch pad is using WEBDYNPRO-ABAP . The javascript error that we are getting is - u2018Childnodes.lengthu2019 is Null or Not an Object . This happens on all versions of Internet Explorer. Has any one encountered this issue ?

I just tried to open "Help" in Aperture and got this message:
"The Help Library requires JavaScript. If JavaScript is not enabled, you will not be able to view all the content."

I have also been having Javascript issues since 10.6.5 but only on my MBP. My MBA and iMac seem fine. My problem manifests itself on various websites where javascript actions on buttons just don't happen. I have been on the same sites on my MBA and iMac and these same buttons are working OK. Every time I repair permissions, there are screeds of java and javascript errors and repairs. If I then do a restart, javascript works for a short period of a minute or so and then stops. I get the same issue on Safari and Firefox. Java and javascript are turned on at both browsers. I had no javascript issues prior to 10.6.5.
I just know if I phone up Applecare, I will get the same old fatuous and lazy answer: "Have you done a clean re-install and if not, we suggest you do." Yea right, with the amount of apps I have, that will only take me 2+ days! Back in the good old days, Applecare folks knew what they were talking about and were not just reading off a list.

Delete document button in ribbon gives javascript error: g is not a function

We have a default SharePoint 2010 installation. So an out of the box site template, out of the box document libraries/lists etc, out of the box theme (default one) etc.
When we check the checkbox next to a document in the shared documents library, the tab in the ribbon automatically switches to the document tab. In this tab there is a button "delete document". When I click that I get a confirmation request, I click OK,
and then I get a little yellow box in the upper right corner that tells me SharePoint is deleting the document, and then nothing happens.
The document stays where it is, no refresh of the page as SharePoint should do...
I have a javascript error, and in FireFox it tells me "g is not a function" on line 2 of the file inplview.js?rev=AohvE9XEf%2FI78tuaw1TGAA
Line 2 contains like 100 javascript functions on the same line, so it's impossible to find out which function or command throws the error.
This is not a file created by me, so I guess it comes with SharePoint and that I should not touch it.
So what do I do now?
I have another server that we use for SharePoint testing, and there the button works as it should, so it's not SharePoint either...
Problem is that we use this server to give basic SharePoint trainings to our employees, so it's not a very good start when we have to say the delete button is broken but will work in the actual production environment...

In our case the problem was caused because initially we had set the authentication to basic authentication, and then changed the setting to claims based authentication. Somehow this causes SharePoint to give errors.
I don't know if the same error occurs when you choose claims based authentication from the beginning (so without changing it after creating the web application).
In our case we had the same behavior, in the ribbon the button didn't work, but in the context menu it did work.
I don't have any other info, as I said in my previous post, I couldn't find any info on this issue on the net. We figured this one out ourselves. I don't know how to keep the claims based authentication, for us it was just a test to try out that type of
authentication. Since we were running into problems and we didn't really need it we reverted it back to basic authentication.

Javascript error in detailed navigation

Hi all
I have workset inside workset, so it looks like folder in the detailed navigation.
One of my users is try access this folder on his computers but get a javascript error. He can see the other iViews on the root folder, but when he tries to enter a inside folder he gets a javascript error and he can't continue.Any Ideas?

OK, so this is what I figure out, from testing on the user computer.
When the user who logged to windows is a regular user with the default settings there is no problem (No matter which user logged to the portal).
When the user who logged to windows is the problematic user, there is a problem in the portal (No matter which user logged to the portal).
So it must be a setting in the internet explorer, right?
it's not the security settings, because I add the portal to the trusted sites and the problem persist.But maybe the settings in Tools --> Internet options --> advance are wrong???
Any other ideas???

SEARCH hyperlink getting javascript errors

The SEARCH hyperlink on the www.oracle.com/technology/index.html page doesn't work. It gets javascript errors and does nothing. I am using IE version 6.0.2800

We are aware of the problem and working to resolve it. Hitting "Enter" after typing in your keyword will have the correct result however.
