JCo configuration

Hi all.
I have an app that uses rfc models and the JCo's are configurated as following:
- The WD_XXXX_MODELDATA_DEST type are using tickets(SSO) under Application Data Type
- The WD_XXXX_RFC_METADATA_DEST type are using user & password under Dictionary Meta Data.
It works but there are a requirement of use tickets in the second ones type of JCo. I did edit those JCo's and set the ticket option, it works at the beginning but after of some time the app gives an exception, that says something of password missing at the loading of a type. I cant copy the exception's text because i cant reproduce the exception right now.
What can i do? Please i need some help urgent.
Thx.
Best Regards.
Gregory.

    Does anybody have the how to guide for Jco
    config and would like to share?
    Thanks and points.

    Hi Jennifer,
    As such you would not be able be able to find a guide to creating a JCO connection, but hope the following helps:
    1. go to <a href="http://<server>:<port>/index.html">http://<server>:<port>/index.html</a>
    2. select webdynpro
    3. select Content Administrator.
    4. on Top left there is an option Create JCO connection, select that & follow the procedure of creation.
    A point to note here is that for creating a JCO connection, you must have configured your SLD beforehand. This can be done by going to <a href="http://<server>:<port>/index.html">http://<server>:<port>/sld</a>
    (Just in case you require to do that, go to

  • About the JCO's configuration...

    Dear,
    I have two questions:
    1) What the usage of "Extented Configuration Management (XCM)".
    2) What the usage of JCO configuration in Web Dynpro or SLD?
    Thanks.

    Hi Jie,
    1) Extended Configuration Management (XCM) Administration tool to configure Web applications after you  have installed the Web components.
    You can get more about this in
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm60/helpdata/en/0f/f8a642a4f70c31e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
    2) SLD is used to store the connection properties of Java system and ABAP System.
    JCO Destinations acts as interface between web AS Java Technical system and Web AS ABAP Technical system.
    In an Webdynpro application we will use RFC's and BAPI's, if u want to communicate with ECC via webdynpro java application these SLD and JCO's  configurations are mandatory.
    See this document, how to configure it.

  • Unable to close metadata jco connection

    Hi Experts,
    when checking the JCo Connection Pools in Web Dynpro Console, I found that all MetaData JCo are in use and unable to disconnect automatically.
    the following is metadata jco destination setting
    Maximal Pool Size 1
    Maximum Connections 5
    Connection Timeout 60
    Maximum Wait Time 10
    how can i do to close these jco connection?

    Hi Sidney,
    I dont really understand why you want to remove the Jco connections. If you click on the "Remove" button as posted earlier by someone, it will completely remove your Jco configurations and you have to create them again on your own. SO, dont do that.
    If you want to disconnect the Jco connection in webdynpro java, we can do that by using the following piece of code at the end of the  connection process.
    As far as I know, by default the Jco connections gets disconnected after certain time limit. Because, I never had to disconnect the Jco whenever I used one.
    wdContext.currentModelElement().modelObject().modelInstance().disconnectIfAlive()
    Regards,
    Gopal.

  • Error connection using  JCO.Client :null

    Hi,
    I have small doubt in JCO connection, can any one help me.
    In WebDynpro  application some time we are getting exception like Error connection using JCO.client : null.
    Connection :200 we are maintained in JCO configuration.
    If I call one RFC useing JCO it will created a session or connection to ECC server, because we are getting exception in server too many sessions to ECC server.
    Write now we are not using any code to close the connection like.
    SaveModel svModel = (SaveModel)WDModelFactory.getModelInstance(SaveModel.class);
    svModel.disconnectIfAlive();
    If we use the above code it will close the connection or sessions.
    Is it recommended to write the code in every RFC calls or  in final block of all RFC calls ?

  • JCo issue - return table is null

    Hi,
    I am trying to read the return table from a function module using
    JCoParameterList jplExport = function.getTableParameterList();
    This works fine in the development environment, however in QA I am getting jplExport as null.
    I have debugged it in QA using an external debugger and the return table has rows.
    We have also ruled out the possibility of it being a authorization issue after checking with the security team.
    I have debugged the FM using the JCo user and it has the return table, also if I run it from within SAP GUI it returns values in the return table.
    To re-iterate the same code works fine in Dev.
    In QA the import is good as I can see the values in the return table.
    I am unable to understand what the issue is here. Why will it return null inspite of having values ?
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Veena.

    Hi Veena,
    -> Check if you can call any other function modules in the QA environment. If not, something is wrong with JCo configuration.
    ->Do you see any differences in function modules signatures from Dev and QA?

  • Run Time JCo Creation

    Hi All,
           I have to create JCO at runtime. Based on the SAP client ID, user id,password and system number i have to create JCO. Predefined JCO configuration for a client number thru Portal, is not useful, because i don't know how many users will logon at a time? So, i wish to create JCO based on the user inputs at run time.
    I used the following code to create JCO at runtime.
    try {
       mConnection = JCO.createClient("sapclient",
       "userid","password",lanuage,"appserver name", "system number");
    mConnection.connect();
    }catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace();
        System.exit(1); }
    After creating, i got all information like(username,appserver name,system number, etc.)
    At this stage i got JCo connection name like 'mConnection'. My question is how to move to next step using mConnection?.
    The JcoConnection contains some methods like   mConnection.execute(parameter).
    1. Is it possible to execute BAPI using JcoConnection created at runtime?
    2. How to execute BAPI using JcoConnection created at runtime?
    3. Is it necessary to create a model through the wizard in NWDS?
    4. If i use execute() method, what are the parameters to be given?
    Please help me.
    Kind Regards,
    S.Saravanan.

    So if i change the existing JCo's settings (IP, username, password, Client etc) from Wed Dynpro Content Administrator for new system, then will those model work? Or I have to re-import the models again???
    Pls help me asap as I have to convey estimated system downtime to business.

    Yes. we can change JCo settings to point a different system
    if signature of RFC are same in both CRM instance, there is no need of re-import.

    Hi Pranav
    If the SLD is working fine then you need to check the below thing :-
    1. Check the SLD Data Supplier in the Visual Administrator and update the correct information and test it.
    2. Update Host and service file for server in the server system for jco destinations visibility.
    Refer to [System Landscape Directory Process and JCo Configuration|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0c1d495-048e-2b10-babd-924a136f56b5?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
