JCo Connection Not Proper!

Hi,
I am getting this warning message in the web dynpro screen while I am trying to run a particular method;
Could not create JCOClientConnection for logical System: WD_MODELDATA_DEST - Model: class com.dow.dc.model.Model. Please assure that you have configured the RFC connections and/or logical system name properly for this model!
Any idea why we get this error?
I have not received this error while I was running the component first!
Harika

Hi
It seems that this is a custom webdynpro application which when executed causes such problem. This might be due to JCO connection not released back to the pool.
Please refer to the following threads and that might be helpful.
Re: JCO Connection close
How to close a model object connection for Adaptive RFC?
You might have to call disconnectIfAlive method on your model.

  • Problem testing Metadata in JCO connections (Flightlist)

    Hello:
I have the sneak preview WAS Server Java 6.4 (J2EE) and I have also installed the MINIWAS 6.2. I have successfully setup the SLD and imported the 2 zip files.  I can start SAP, and through SM59 test connect to SLD_NUC.  I can use RZ70 to 'send' info. I can successfully load, build, archieve the Flightlist demo.  I can go to http://localhost:50000/Webdynepro/welcome... and create and test the Model data under JCO connections (not using load balancing).  When I test 'metadata_dest' I get the RFC_error_communication Group Public not found.  I tried your fix (services file sapmsBSP 3200 from another post), but this makes it not possible to connect to sap since I think SAP listens on port 3200.  Any thoughts?  Can I spoof my single server system to think its has load balancing?
    Thanks

    Hi,
If in SMLG menu "goto->load distribution" the field "current logon instance" is empty run report RSRZLLG0_ACTUAL without the flag FRCE_SAV...
After the run the field should be the name of your instance...
    check with:
    lgtst -H pc -S sapmsnsp -D 1
    the output should be:

  • Jco Connection works on Single server mode, but not over network?

    Hello,
Error - com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdException: 'XXXXXX' not properly defined! Unable to create Metadata connection for Dictionary Provider. Either the logical System Name 'XXXXXX' has not been properly defined in the System Landscape Directory, or you are not using a MsgServerDestination (AppServerDestinations are not permitted for Metadata connections
This is the error at one of the remote machines. The JCo Connection works on the J2EE host system (while testing and pinging under the Single Server mode.)
I believe this error will be rectified if I upgrade to SPS7, but we have certain other considerations that restrict us from doing that.
Could someone please point out the exact location thats responsible for this if possible and maybe I could just upgrade that part and clear this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
you should consider three  things if your java instance is on network.
    1. SLD ( check if java instance is listed on SLD and test the connection from portal to SLD.
    2. You need an entry in the services files of both the Java and ABAP servers as such:
    sapms<SID>  3600/tcp
Remember to always have a blank line at the bottom of the services file!
    3. try to add the certificate in portal.
if you can provide with the exact error message it would be easy to help.
    Kind regards,
    vamsi.

  • Execute BAPI Using Current User ID, Not JCo Connection User ID (v7.0)

Currently when I call a BAPI, it executes under the username of the JCo Connection. User management is done via ECC, and not portal, so the User IDu2019s are identical.
Is it possible to call a BAPI from Web Dynpro using the current portal user User ID?

    Hi,
Select the model which is created for the Bapi (in the webdynpro content Administrator),  edit the JCO connection(modeldata) and select user method - Ticket, for the metadata you ca use a common communication userid.
By this the BAPI is executed with the current logged in portal userid.
Note:  For using this your portal as to be configured with SAP ECC with SSO.
    Hope this solves your issue.

  • Finding component that does not close JCO connections

    Hi,
I'm working on a big project with many webdynpro components. My problem is that I seem to be loosing JCO connections. After a while I get JCO connection errors. I just can't find which component is causing this. I checked over and over again.
Is there a way to check how many JCO connections an application/component has or at least how many open connections a model has?
I really need to know which component is causing my loss of JCO connections.
    Thanks all!
    Jeschael

    Hi Jeschael,
Go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Select Web Dynpro Console -> (Model & backend- You  can check JCo performance by component)  or ( JCo Connection Pools you can check max. calls and active connections for JCos)

  • JCO getDefaultConnection() not using RFC user from XCM

    Hello,
I am writing a custom backend class to call a custom function module in R3 to get some data. As this has to run before the application start page is loaded, I have used a exit before the /b2b/startapp.do is called.
The problem here is that when I am using the getDefaultJCoConnection() method in the backend class which extends the IsaBackendBusinessObjectBaseSAP class, the JCO user is determined as the application user rather than the RFC user which I have configured in XCM. Because of this there is an authorization error as the application user does not have auth to the custom function group.
I have written many other exits in the application and they are all working fine and picking up the RFC user which has relevant authorizations.
    Am I missing something here?
    Pradeep

    Thanks Easwar
stateless was giving me other issues.
I managed to solve the problem with the below code.
    ManagedConnectionFactoryConfig mConfig = (ManagedConnectionFactoryConfig)    (getConnectionFactory().getManagedConnectionFactoryConfigs().get("JCO"));
    Properties props = mConfig.getConnectionDefinition("ISA_COMPLETE").getProperties();
    connection = getDefaultJCoConnection(props);

  • JCO connection pool is exhausted

    hi
I am using RFC module in my web dynpro application. When the application is used for sometime, the JCO connection will get exhusted. The JCO connection will not release itself. I can't find any method in web dynpro to release the connection manually. How can I solve this problem?

    Hi,
What is scope of the connection. View properties of MODELDATA and METADATA  destinations.
You can change the scope of the connection..
    or
    wdContext.current<BAPI INPUT>Element().modelObject().modelInstance().disconnectIfAlive();
For more ways , give a forum search.. There are a lot of close forum posts.. Gud luc..

  • How to use a JCO connection pool in an EJB?

    Hi *,
I want to build a WebService using SAP Web AS (J2EE Engine) that connects to a R/3 ERP (release 4.7).
I thought of building a stateless session bean that will be deployed as webservice. The session bean shall connect to the R/3 in order to call some BAPIs. I'd like to use a JCO connection pool. But I'm not sure, where I should create and destroy the connection pool. Are the EJB methods ejbCreate() and ejbRemove() the right ones? If so, my businness methods would just have to get a connection from the pool and call the BAPIs, right? If not, what do you suggest?
Another question: I already deployed a bean as webservice. Since not really knowing how to use the connection pool, I created a bean with one business method that creates a connection pool whenever it gets called. But if I have to change something in the bean so that I have to redeploy the bean I can't call my business method anymore, because JCO cannot load a native library once again, as it is already loaded, This leads to an exception. So I have to restart the complete engine everytime I redeploy my bean. Are there any workarounds for this problem? I'm not sure whether this is connected to the wrong use of the JCO connection pool.
    Kind regards,
    Lars

    Rajendra

    Hello Rajendra,
Good to hear from u. Let me try to give a soln for this problem of yours.
I think probably the logon group has not been specified in the backend. If thats the case then do the following:
Connect to the backend server for which you are trying to create the JCO. Run the transaction SMLG. It will show u the existing logon groups. carry out the following steps if the 'PUBLIC' group is not present in the list of logon groups.
Click on the create button. In the pop-up, type the logon as 'PUBLIC'. For the instance, select the F4 help and choose the existing instance number. Click on copy and click save. Try running the transaction /nsmlg and now it should show the logon group 'PUBLIC'.
When you create the JCO connection, it should now show the logon group 'PUBLIC'.
    Regards,
    Prathamesh.

please give some pointers like what needs to be done JCO settings in Backend.
    Thanks in advance.

    Niranjan,
    3 causes and many more....
First and most probable cause is that your CR content in SLD is old....
FIX - to fix this download latest cimsap and crcontent from service.sap.com and implement in SLD.
    Second cause user is locked
    FIX - unlock in R/3
Third cause could be that the connection pool in JCO is exhausted.
FIX - increase connection pool in JCO.
    More causes.
With this new version it appears that any error before connection is created ends up showing this, so I would really go into default trace and look there for original errors, that is the way I found JCO pool was exhausted, that error was not being forwarded and instead it was showing this error...
    reward points if helpful
