Rituparna

Hi Rituparna,
In Visual admin, go to SLD suppliers and JCO RFC provider and test the connections.
parameters specified should match with sm59.
Can you please check the following connections in sm 59
LCRSAPRFC
SAPSLDAPI
AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
SLD_CHECK
Also check if the port is open that is used in the connection string.

  • Problem setting ADF BC Conneciton.  Error Invalid connections.xml

    Hi,
I need to do some enhancement on an existing ADF Based project so I got the project source code
    from Source Control.
But when I am trying to define a Database Connection on my Application Resources>Connections->New Connection->Database
    I am encountering below error.
oracle.adf.rc.exception.CatalogException: Invalid connections.xml.I wanted to change the ADFBC connections also by right clicking the project and then choosing properties.
When I try to add a Database Connection nothing is happening. CLicking the OK button does not do anything?
    Anyone has similar experience? Thanks

    Hi,
Could you pls check whether your connections.xml is a valid xml.
You can get more detail form this link:
http://radalcove.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/connections.htmlI think you can try creating new connection after removing corresponding "connections.xml" in your environment, Check matching location like below:
    <JDEV_HOME>\system11.1.1.0.18.45.24\o.jdevimpl.rescat2\connections\connections.xmlHope this will be helpful.

  • Java.sql.SQLexception: Invalid character encountered in: failAL32UTF8Conv

I have an Oracle 9i database set to use NLS_CHARACTERSET - AL32UTF8. This database is running on a LINUX server with LANG=en_US.UTF-8. The final piece is an application running on WebLogic. Until recently, I had no problems. Now I receive "invalid character" errors on the WebLogic console when trying to create users via the application using the letters f, o, and r. Does anyone know what direction to look in to resolve this problem? The JDBC driver should be using UTF-8 by default and I am not sure where else to look.
The exact error we are getting is:
java.sql.SQLexception: Invalid character encountered in: failAL32UTF8Conv
I noticed on this forum someone else who had this problem was told to update to the latest Oracle thin driver. We are already using the latest ojdbc14.zip. Do you have any suggestions beyond that?
FYI - We are running BEA WebLogic Server 8.1.

I see somebody encounter this error before. Any idea ???Hi. You should download and use Oracle's latest thin driver, as opposed to the
driver we ship with our product. The shipped one was the best there was at the time
but oracle has since fixed other bugs, and this may be one.

Have got the same problem. Scenario at my end is little different though.
I am trying to invoke a BPEL process from an ESB Service.

  • [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (ParseConnectParams().]Invalid connection on server 2008 R2

I am getting the above error when trying to instal the WSUS role on a Windows Server 2008 R2. I put in the ServerName\Instance just like the wizard asks but I get the Invalid Connection error above. I can make an ODBC connection to the server just fine.
The account I am using to install WSUS has an SQL login with sysadmin role and rights to the master db. This server is going to replace a WSUS running on server 2003 and I want to use the same SQL server that one is using. I can connect to port 1433 fine with
telnet so I am really lost at this point.
    Any idea's?

    Hi AR,
Is the SQL server installed on the same computer?
If yes, please check if the named pipe has been enabled on the SQL server.
If no, please check the event log of the SQL server. We may find the reason why the connection was denied.
    Best Regards.

    Hello,
you say you are using a single machine as a server, try this:
sometimes with a single machine people don't set up full naming services. you need (or should have) DNS entries for your machines.
If you don't have full DNS entries then put them into your host file. this includes any windows servers you are running apps from and any windows clients you may be connecting from.
you may even want to handle DHCP connections in the following way. if you have 20 DNS connections, then make entries in the hosts file like this (example only, use your own network address):
    192.168.1.100 dhcp100
    192.168.1.101 dhcp101
    192.168.1.103 dhcp103
etc. the name is not important. just the entry.
this seems to have worked for me in connecting from hardwired and dhcp addresses.

You may possibly modified the oc4j-ra.xml file in the stand-alone directory instead of the file under the OC4J_BPEL directory in midtier.
Currently, we are seeing some issues with the sample in midtier. So you may like to wait for the GA release [ mid May] for trying out this sample.

  • ONS.log , invalid connect server IP format

    Dear all,
We have a RAC system 10g (10.2.0.3) with two database nodes on two dedicated IBM Power servers with AIX 5.3 as OS.
The following message is occurring in a frequent way in ons.log noting that we have detected that the ons process is consuming very high memory:
    +13/03/18 09:34:33 [2] Passive connection 0,<IP of server 1>,6200 invalid connect server IP format+

Unfortunately we can't find any documentation for that.
    Regards.

ons process is consuming very high memory....
is it log size is increasing drastically or any other issue....we are not getting issue .....
ONS is consuming high CPU? is it ur issue...then
according to my understanding the hostname or IP value configured for OPMN in the opmn.xml file does not match the corresponding entry in the ons.conf file.
OPMN reconnects to itself over and over, thereby increasing CPU usage, one more thing is ONS topology is mis-configured....i hope...
ons.conf file content must be same as all other instance in the cluster.....
for more information examine the log ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/ipm.log ....if possible post the log.....

  • The database link contains invalid connection information

I am working on owb10.1, oracle db 10g release 2
As i try to create a new module through the New Module Wizard, everything is fine until setting the connection information step. Since this is the first time to create a module, I pick the option "Oracle Data Dictionary" and also create a new database link successfully. After choosing the new database link, when i click the next button, an error occurs
*"API4006: The database link contains invalid connection information.*

I could create and test the new database link successfully. but here why I can't choose this db link to do the next step?
    Any thoughts?
    please help me out.
    Thanks

database link name works well now. i changed the global_name parameter.

  • Invalid Connection remains connected on AQ by my JMS code while RAC switch

    Hello All,
    Greetings !!
I am facing a issue with my JMS code which connect to AQ to dequeue the message. While RAC switch of DB instance my code remains with the invalid connection and seems like hung and need to be restart for fresh connection.
My code works in thread implemented while creates the connection with AQ on initial start-up and keep on dequeue the message on subscription while infinite thread execution.
Code also have reconnect login in case we face any DB disconnection or exception but here while RAC switch we are not able face any disconnection due to while my reconnect logic is not being called.
So can anyone advice me how we can get notification in my code about the RAC switch, so that I can call my reconnect logic for fresh connection ??
    Thanks in advance for suggestions.
    BR//
    Sumit

Sounds like you need to look at FAN (Fast Application Notification) and FCF (Fast Connection Failover):
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/java.112/e16548/apxracfan.htm#JJDBC28935
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/java.112/e16548/fstconfo.htm#JJDBC28823
Not sure how these would be integrated in your application as I'm not a developer but these are the methods Oracle provide to breakout of stale / dead application connections when a RAC instance fails.
    Hope this helps,
    Paul

The client ( 172.31.102.23 ) directory server is on the same host as the Directory Proxy Server (servername ) mentioned here.We have been trying to dig out the cause of this problem without any luck. Also the below access log messages seem to correspond with these error log messages
[06/Oct/2008:00:15:28 -0500] - BACKEND - WARN - Attempt to bind as to backend server servername:1389/ failed. Connection reset
Please do let me know if anybody has experienced this particular problem or has any solution for the same.

Many thanks for this suggestion. We have the Directory Server timeout currently set at 7200 seconds,as far as the Directory Proxy Server is concerned the polling interval is less than the same at 3600 seconds
    Monitoring Mode: Proactive-Continous check availibilty
Availabilility Monitor: Monitoring Interval: 30 Seconds
    Connection Time Out: 5 Seconds
Entry Retrieval Time Out: 5 Seconds
    Entry To Retrieve:
    Search Filter To Use:(|(objectClass=*)(objectClass=ldapSubEntry))
Connection Monitor: Poll Unused Connections to Keep them Active      Yes
    Polling Interval: 3600 Seconds
Poll Unused Connections to Keep them Active      Yes ( I believe this is what was suggested to keep polled traffic active ,this particular property is already enabled )
Inspite of the same we keep getting these errors,is there something we are missing at this point.
