Jdbc conn from VirtualBox OracleRedHat6 guest to Oracle11G on WindowsXP.
Hi.
I have developed simple java application which includes connect to Orace database.
This jar works fine under WindowsXP where Oracle11G database is located.
Then I relocated this jar to VirtualBox Oracle RedHat Linux 6.
After run
java -jar archive.jar
I got next errors

Could anybody explain this errors.
Thanks in advance.

Error is not there in the code what you are showing. Can you edit index$jsp.java and see what is there in line 231?
You may find it in tomcat_home\work\your_application directory.

Cannot commit or rollback a JDBC Connection from CAF project
Hi Everybody,
I'm working in CE 7.10. I have a CAF Project that gets a JDBC connection from a Custom Datasource to an external Database.
Here is the code:
try
Context ctx = new InitialContext();
DataSource ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/MYDATABASE");
con = ds.getConnection();
con.setAutoCommit(false);
Statement statement = con.createStatement();
String updateStatement = "UPDATE TABLE...";
statement.executeUpdate(updateStatement);
con.commit();
catch(SQLException sqle){
con.rollback();
I got the following exception on line "con.setAutoCommit(false);": --> "Cannot begin JDBC transaction from this connection of "MYDATABASE" DataSource. JTA transaction has already started."
and the following on line "con.commit() / con.rollback()" : --> "Cannot commit JDBC transaction from this connection of "MYDATABASE" DataSource. This resource participates in a JTA transaction."
If I run the same code from a webDynpro or a J2EE project it works ok, but not from a CAF Application Service. I tried to do it in a simple Class in the CAF Project and call this clas from the Application service, but I get the same error.
Any Ideas??
Thanks a lot!
Regards.Solved with "SessionContext.setRollbackOnly()" instruccion.

Error retrieving JDBC connection from remote client (WLS 10.0)
Hallo,
I get an error when I try to retrieve a JDBC connection from a WLS datasource using a remote client. My Weblogic server version is: WebLogic Server 10.0 MP1 Thu Oct 18 20:17:44 EDT 2007 1005184
I use the following code to retrieve the JDBC connection:
Hashtable<String,String> ctxEnv = null;
InitialContext ctx = null;
DataSource dataSource = null;
Connection con = null;
ctxEnv = new Hashtable<String,String>();
ctxEnv.put(InitialContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
ctxEnv.put(InitialContext.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:7001");
ctx = new InitialContext(ctxEnv);
dataSource = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("datasources/XXX");
con = dataSource.getConnection();
When I execute this code with the weblogic.jar in the classpath everything works fine. However, when I put the wlfullclient.jar in the classpath which I created using the JAR Builder Tool I get the follwoing error:

Can please anyone tell me what's going on there? What really astonishes me is that the class mentioned in the stacktrace is neither present in the wlfullclient.jar nor in the weblogic.jar, but using the weblogic.jar everything works fine. Any hint would be appreciated so much ...
Here is the log written when is created the wlfullclient.jar:

Hi. You should open an official support case,

jar, and that may be true
what I said, but I see you're making your own. Can
you find out what jar you're
loading the InstrumentationSupport class from? That's
the original location of
the error, and that class doesn't exist in 10.0.Hi Joe, thanks for your reply.
First of all, let me clarify what we did and why we did it: We have a stand-alone client application that needs to communicate with a Weblogic server using the t3 protocol (we don't want IIOP or HTTP tunneling). According to the official BEA documentation (see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/basics.html and http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/t3.html) we needed to create the wlfullclient.jar file. We did this using the Weblogic JAR Builder Tool (see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/jarbuilder.html). Unfortunatley we discovered the problem mentioned in my original post when we tried to run the client with that wlfullclient.jar.
Regarding your classloading question: The InstrumentationSupportImpl class is located in the wlfullclient.jar, so it does exist in WLS 10.0 (it is also contained in the weblogic.jar). Unfortunately this JAR does not contain the required class "weblogic.diagnostics.instrumentation.InstrumentationDebug". I searched for this class and found it in the OSGI module "com.bea.core.diagnostics.instrumentor_1.0.1.0.jar" shipped with the Weblogic server. Obviously the JAR Builder Tool did not include the contents of this OSGI bundle into the wlfullclient.jar. I tried to include this OSGI bundle into the classpath of the client app manually (just for testing purposes), but this onyl resultet in another NoClassDefFoundError. This time the class "com.bea.objectweb.asm.Constants" could not be found.
What astonishes me is the fact that the connection retrieval works fine when we only have the weblogic.jar in the client applications classpath, but fails when we have the wlfullclient.jar in the classpaht. It seems that the t3 communication is handled completely different, depending on what JARs I have in the classpath. Also, JMS communication works fine in both cases (i.e. for the weblogic.jar and the wlfullclient.jar). The only thing that causes problems (at least as far as we have discovered) is getting a JDBC connection from a datasource. I simply fail to see why this is the case.
Best regards,
DirkInteresting. I hope the official support case solves your problem.
I would like to dig further, but it's too far afield for me with
the workload I have at the moment.

Dear All,
Can you Please tell how to install a software SQL Server 2012 from the Host to my Guest OS Windows Server 2008R2 in my Virtual Machine? I am using VMPlayer and have already created a VM using the Windows Server 2008R2.
I just need help in installing another software (SQLServer2012) from my laptop(guest computer) to my host VM. I also have the files downloaded into my C drive of my laptop(hostcomputer) for the SQL Server 2012. But I am lost as to where to click to install
this software to my VM.
I know I put into Windows Server 2012 forum but I thin the procedure should be similar.
Thank-youthere are few options,
you can copy the files from your host to virtual machine
you can create a iso file and mount it to vm
you can share the source files and access as a share

[SOLVED] New arch install from Virtualbox cannot boot on real hardware
Hi,
I'm trying my luck with installing Arch on physical disk through Virtualbox. I followed Wiki and managed to install system on the disk. However, I am unable to boot it outside VM.
I have two physical disks - /dev/sda and /dev/sdb. I have installed Arch on /dev/sda1. It is there, I can see the files from my current OS and it does work in VM. /dev/sda1 is bootable.
However, when I boot my PC from /dev/sda rootfs fails to load kernel image - it says it can't be found. I tried specifing init path in Syslinux.cfg using /dev/sdxX and UUID and even PARTUUID but none worked. When in rootfs, I lsed /dev/disk/by-uuid and found that rootfs sees only one of my two disks, /dev/sdb. I find it really strange.
I followed below advise found on forums:
- Verify that mkinitcpio.conf lists "block" hook
- Create a new kernel image with mkinitcpio -p linux
- Refer to your partition by UUID
- If above doesn't work, try PARTUUID
None of these worked. I believe the reason for this is that the issue is not with how I reference the disk nor how the mkinitcpio works but with the disk not being available for rootfs at all. Alas, I have no experience with disks other than simple partitioning, so I'm not sure where to start.

Last edited by karm (2014-12-08 03:56:35)Sleep is for the weak.
So I've read that article and found what the issue was.
Turns out I automatically followed previous advise without giving it some thought and run mkinitcpio from Virtualbox. Which does not make sense because the whole point of this is to prepare kernel image to run on other hardware than provided by VM. So what I did to fix this:
1. Installed arch-chroot on VM
2. Mounted /dev/sda1 on my host machine and chrooted into it using arch-chroot
3. Run mkinitpcio -p linux
4. Reinstalled boot loader just in case with syslinux-install_update -iam /dev/sda1
5. Adjusted /boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg to work with new configuration:
5.1 set root=UUID=..... to be certain it picks the right partition
5.2 add proper systemd init path APPEND=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd
And it does work - I'm posting from my new shiny system. Thanks a lot ackt1c! -
Not able to Call JDBC control from MDB
I need to call a method in the JDBC control from the Message Driven Bean(MDB). When I try to do so, Weblogic throws an error. I tried to call a Custom Control from MDB and the Custom Control called a method in the JDBC control but that does not work too. Can someone help me solve this?
Can't we call the JDBC control from MDB? There should be some way around this.
This is the error I get :

Hi,
Please let me know the possibilities of secured JDBC call from PI. In JDBC adapter configuration, is it possible to achieve secured connection to Database server?
I saw few similar threads in Forums but did not get much information.
Thanks,
Geetha?Please let me know the possibilities of secured JDBC call from PI. In JDBC adapter configuration, is it possible to achieve secured connection to Database server?
Yes, it is absolutely possible to secure the jdbc connection to database server. You might have to do few things...
Please follow this link
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/EncryptioninscenariosinvolvingJDBCAdapterwithOracleDatabase
You can encrypt all the connection parameters including user name and password between jdbc adapter and database server. Use advance tab and do the recommended changes given in the above link.Similarly on the database server you have to do the same. You might have to take help from dba to set the similar settings on the database level too. -
Retrieving JDBC Destinations from CE Server
Hi,
I am developing a Java Application ( Web Module) on NW CE 7.2 App Server via NWDS. This Application also uses a custom Oracle Database.
I have added a Destination of type JDBC in the CE server for the custom Oracle Database to CE using NWA.
under ConfigurationManagement->Destinations
Now the API com.sap.security.core.server.destinations.api I was not able to find a class for JDBCDestination. Below were the classes:
Destination A destination represents all the information required at the client side to make a connection to a backend system.
DestinationService The J2EE destination service is used for obtaining connections to backend systems.
HTTPDestination An HTTP destination is a special type of destination that addresses an HTTP endpoint at a target system.
RFCDestination Externally visible RFC Destination interface.
AT the following javadocs link:
http://help.sap.com/javadocs/nwce/current/se/com.sap.se/com/sap/security/core/server/destinations/api/package-summary.html
Now my question is how do you retrieve JDBC destinations from CE? And what is the class for it?
Below is a sample to get HTTP destination:
import com.sap.security.core.server.destinations.api.DestinationException;
import com.sap.security.core.server.destinations.api.DestinationService;
import com.sap.security.core.server.destinations.api.HTTPDestination;
DestinationService dstService = (DestinationService)
ctx.lookup(DestinationService.JNDI_KEY);
if (dstService == null)
throw new NamingException("Destination Service not available");
Destination destination = dstService.getDestination("HTTP","dst-1");
//for HTTP destination: cast
HTTPDestination httpDestination = (HTTPDestination) destination;
//obtain a HTTPUrlConnection from the destinationHttpURLConnection
httpConnection = httpDestination.getURLConnection();
How do I do the same for JDBC connection type? Any idea on this would be great
Thanks,
DhananjayThanks for the help.
I was suspecting there was a problem with the driver. Microsoft's Driver worked perfectly for SQL 2000, but my target database is SQL 7 and the driver is not reverse compatible.
I am looking for a Free liscenced JDBC driver that will work with SQL 7 (other than the sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver)
Nothing fancy needs to be supported, just scrollable result sets, and basic insert, update, select, exec commands. -
Native JDBC connection from BO Explorer to HANA
Hello.
Could you please give me the step-by-step instructions to set up the native HANA JDBC connection from BO Explorer?
I followed the steps in P.12-13 of 'SAP BusinessObjects Explorer Administrator's Guide for BO BI 4.0 SP02', but I could not see the "SAP High-Performance Analytic Appliance (SAP HANA) 1.0" in 'Manage Spaces' in BO Explorer.
I did as follows:
1. Log on to the BusinessObjects Enterprise CMC as Administrator.
2. Click "Servers".
3. Expand "Service Categories", right-click on "Explorer Services", then select 'Stop Server'.
4. Return to CMC's home screen, and click "Applications".
5. Right-click "Explorer", and select "Properties".
6. Within "Advanced Configuration", set the following parameters, and save them.
newdb.system.alias = NEWDBHANA
newdb.url = jdbc:sap://HANA_ADDRESS:30015
newdb.authentication.mode = ConfiguredIdentity
newdb.user = system
newdb.password = manager
newdb.connections.enabled = true
7. Return to CMC's home screen, and click "Users and Groups".
8. Click "User List", right-click on "Administrator", and select "Properties".
9. Check "Enable Database Credentials", and enter Windows' administrator and its password, and save them.
10. Return to CMC's home screen, and click "Servers".
11. Expand "Service Categories", right-click on "Explorer Services", then select 'Start Server'.
12. Log on to the BO Explorer as Administrator.
13. Click "Manage Spaces".
14. "SAP High-Performance Analytic Appliance (SAP HANA) 1.0" is not shown in "Sources".
Thank you very much,

Can't load jdbc driver from localhost
I'm having problems loading the jdbc driver from localhost when using a java com object in ASP.
The simple class compiles fine and runs perfect from dos command line but gives this exception when run from personal webserver:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: sun/jdbc/odbc/JdbcOdbcDriver
Obviously, it is not finding the jdbc driver, but what is the problem? It finds the driver when run from dos locally. Do I need a 3rd party driver when using as a COM object?
Here is a code snippet:
Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
Connection TestConnection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:systemDSN", "username", "password");
Any help is appreciated, thanks!I don't think it's exactly a classpath problem. I think when you run from the DOS command line, you are using the java.exe program that contains Sun's JVM and all the associated classes including sun/jdbc/odbc/JdbcOdbcDriver. But when you use this Java COM object (which I am not familiar with), if it doesn't find that class then it must be using the Microsoft VM, which naturally doesn't include that class you are having a problem with.

Manipulating JDBC Datasources from a java application or servlet
How can i manipulate - add, delete, update - JDBC Datasources from a java applcation or servlet?
Maybe we can help, if you explain a little more.
What do you mean with:
How can i manipulate - add, delete, update - JDBC
Datasources from a java applcation or servlet?Do you want to
* create databases
* change a database's properties
* create or change tables
* create or change the rows in tables
Each of these would be - more or less - possible, but on its own way.
Or do you maybe want to configure ODBC Datasources (DSNs) for use with the JDBC-ODBC-Bridge?
Thats all I can guess from what you told us. Tell more! -
What is the impact of upgrading jdbc drivers from 9.2 version to 10g driver
Hi,
My application is built on Oracle 9.2 with 9.2 version jdbc drivers.
To use Java objects mapping with Oracle object TYPES (for ex. STRUCT),
I had to go for 10g jdbc drivers. Otherwise, I am getting an error:

I would like to hear from you that, what is the impact on the existing application if I upgrade
jdbc drivers from 9.2 version to 10g version?
Please do mention all the impact.
VyshuJDBC 10g works just fine against 9.2 database. See the interopeability matrix on the JDBC portal http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html

Equivalent to VirtualBox Host-Guest Communication Manager in Hyper-V?
Hello,
Chapter 7 of the VirtualBox
SDK Programming Guide (pdf) explains that the "VirtualBox Host-Guest Communication Manager (HGCM) allows a guest application or a guest driver to call a host shared library."
Is there anything like this in Hyper-V?
The document also goes into a bit more details on the implementation, stating "HGCM uses the VMM virtual PCI device to exchange data between the guest and the host."
Is it possible to implement a 3rd-party virtual device in Hyper-V?
Thanks for your time!Any form of network communication can be used between the virtual machine and its host in the same manner that two physical computers can communicate with one another. As Samir stated, this is a security boundary that was purposefully established.
There is a capability to pass key-value pairs between the host and guest.

Any issue for JDBC Conn when moving from Names Server to OID
Hi,
One of out customer migrating from Oracle Names Server to OID and they would like to know the effects (if any) this will have on their applications that connect to the databases using jdbc connections.
Concern is "will their jdbc connections to the databases be affected once the Names Server is replaced" ?
Please share your thoughts
Regards
Manoj KumarHi Hal
Everything is working fine on
the new server, except for one PC, a Dell XPS 210.
When I enter the username and password to logon, the
computer appends my username with the name of the
computer, ex. Hal becomes HalsPC/Hal as the
username. Because of this I can't access the server
files. Now this computer connected fine to the server
on the old Mac, and if I unplug the Ethernet from the
new server and connect to the old server it still
works fine. Can anyone offer a reason why the Dell
would react this way, I don't have this problem with
any of the other PC's in the office.
Firstly have you made sure you have started Windows Services on your Server? Secondly on your PC (is it XP?) use Windows Explorer to browse for your Server, select Search, select Computers or People and in the field, key in the IP address of your Server. Windows Explorer should show you an icon view of the OSX server in the right hand window. Double click on this and key in a valid user and password as created on the Server. If you enable guest access for Windows Users they wont require authentication and should be able to access share points with no problem.
Hope this helps
