JDeveloper, external tools, same parameters for 2 VO, page layout..

Hi,
JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.2.3.0. I have a few questions:
1.) External tools can be added to JDeveloper. But how can I add the libraries or components of that tool to the IDE?
2.) In our application there are 2 VO based on a union select that have the same parameters. These VOs are linked.
However, the results must be shown in 2 separate adf tables. I tried to execute, but received, missing IN- OUT-Parameters...
All parameters are set to required and partial triggers are also configured.
3.) I set the document size to a fixed size in pixel. However, the components on the page should not stretch. Which technique
is best for this? Embedding html in adf, i.e. an html table for the base page layout and insert adf inside?
4.) I must also create, i.e. a custom accordion panel (color and icon), menus and submenus. Not skinning. Is this possible in JDev.?
Thanks for your help/feedback!

1) external tools should be self containing. This means they should be applications which can run on their own, like Notepad. What you want to to is to add a library.
2) we need more info. A VO can be based on a union but it doesn't have a connection to an other VO which might be based on the same union. So for me there is some information missing
3) Web applications don't (shouldn't) use fix size. Instead of setting the size on the document you should use a layout container like panelGroupLayout which doesn't stretch its children.
4) Sure, but why?

    The code to produce the box on the right is here:

    This is the best we can do with current ArchWiki setup. It would be even better if we could list categories in the box, as well as i18n links.

As you can see, it's a bit more typing than before, but it sure looks better. I might shorten the names for the templates. I wanted to make them memorable so they are a bit long.
As you can see, the problem of i18n links integration was fixed, so you can use existing i18n template and combine with the new "Article summary" set.
I will modify the article about writing summaries to include those templates and examples.
EDIT:  :oops:  the i18n links in the article are just examples. Don't use them, since they lead to non-existing pages.
EDIT2: Okay, I've played around with the appearance of the summary box, but I'm at work now, so it's going nowhere. I'll play with it some more when I get home.

    Two questions:
    I need to add logic to the lifecycle for one page and not all of the pages in the application.
    1.) What is the best practice to write a Lifecycle PhaseListener for a single page?
    I understand that I need to extend the PageController class and override the methods I want to change, then use the new page controller in your pages.
    I'm referencing:
    http://www.oracle.com/webapps/online-help/jdeveloper/10.1.3?topic=adf_plifecyclehandlejsf_html

    I am using ADF Faces, just not using the JDeveloper IDE to develop the application.
    I am using Netbeans 5.5.1.
    So going back to my question, after extending the PageController, how to I make that class a part of my application in Java code, faces-config.xml or adf-faces-config.xml?

  • Setting Java class parameters for a JSP page

    Hi,
    I have a Java class that has a reference to a Session Id. I want to call a JSP from the class and set the session id to a String variable in the JSP. I am using a URL class to call the JSP. After the actual URL is passed to the URL constructor, I am appending the "?m_sessionId=e_session Id" at the end of the URL. In my JSP, I have the m_sessionId String parameter that i want to set e_sessionId to. What should i do in my JSP to set this? Any answers will be very helpful and I'd like to offer many thanks in advance
      public void loadSessionStuff(String sessionID){
       String e_sessionId = URLEncode.encode(sessionID);
       URL url = new URL("http://localhost:9000/MyJSP.jsp?m_sessionId="+e_sessionId);
       .....MyJSP.jsp looks something like this
       <%!
          String m_sessionId;
          public void setSessionId(){
           m_sessionid = request.getParameter("e_sessionId");
           public String getSessionId(){
               return m_sessionId;
            other stuff....
        %>Is this the correct way to do things. It's not working.
    Regards
    R

    Hi Rahul,
    Yeah, i got that resolved. Do you know how i can get the thing in reverse gear. What i mean is i can successfully call and get the JSP to do things for me from my Java bean. What about sending stuff back to my bean?
    I want to send the List back to my calling class so i can work with it.
    Thanks
    Regards
    Jeeves
    My Java code is as follows

  • Page Parameters in PL/SQL Pages

    The OAS User's Guide says:
    "You can define page parameters for PL/SQL Pages. Values for these parameters are passed to bind variables in the PL/SQL code. For example, if the PL/SQL page 'myplsqlpage' contains the PL/SQL statement 'a:=:param1'; and a page parameter is specified named 'param1' with the value '123' (param1=123), this URL is used to access the PL/SQL page in Oracle AS Portal:
    http://myportal/myplsqlpage?param1=123
    In the PL/SQL code, the bind variable 'a' is assigned the value '123'."
    But I did that but I have the following message:

    Please I have an example.

    Hi Patrick,
    Your suggestion seems interesting and simplistic and I wonder if you could make it working. Because, I worked on a similar suggestion some months ago and it did not work. unless I am confusing your idea with something else, it is not designed to work - although it was claimed in the documentation to work. On talking to Oracle we were able to pin down that it was a documentation bug and a new note was created to state that.
    You may wanna see the following Metalink Note which says that passing parameters from a PLSQL page is not allowed.

  • Choosing page layouts for books in iPhoto 6

    Hello -
    I am trying to create my first book in iPhoto version 6.0.6. I think I pretty much have a handle on how to do it, except for choosing the page layouts. I am using the picture book theme. When I am on a certain page, if I want to change the page layout, when I click on the "page layout" button, I only have the option of with or without text. I cannot choose to change this page to have one picture or to have three pictures; only to have what is already showing, with or without text.
    Do only newer versions have this option?
    Also, I cannot find anywhere the option of changing the background color from white. I have seen the suggestions about scanning in other images to make backgrounds, but shouldn't there be at least another option besides white?
    thanks
    - jillian

    I am having the same dilemma. Have you found an answer yet? Thanks.

Some other 7 inch tablets (eg Samsung, Asus) block this capability while others allow this.

    Try here:
    iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    Also reset the iPod.
    Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Selecting different parameters for same plot

    So I am currently working on a VI to integrate on a system. In this VI I would like to have a plot that will aloow me to select different parameters for both X and Y axes. I was thinking of having a drop down menu with the different parameters, ie Time vs Pressure, Pressure vs Temperature. How can I go about making this?
    I would also like to have the choice of plotting multiple signals on the same graph, ie Temperature 1 & Temperature 2 vs Time.
    Right now I am only able to graph one paramater vs time, I am graphing Pressure vs Time on this current VI.
    Thanks for the help

    You did not mention, whether you want an online plotting feature, or you have already all data, and you just want to plot them? The following regards to the online data collection case:
    I would go with a XY-Graph. I would store the XY value pairs in arrays (or you can go with cluster and arrays inside), and building them incrementally. You can store them in shift register(s), but also think about how to avoid the memory leak (if your shift register(s) reaches a size limit, delete some data from the beginning).
    The drop-down menu could be connected to an Event structure, where you can change the axis labels via property nodes, and also change the source of data for the Graph.
    edit: you can also add multiple Y-axis to the Graph, if you find it useful
