JFileChooser and file validation

Hi,
I use JFileChooser.showSaveDialog(). I neen when user clicks the "Save" button to check if the file already exists and if so to show him warning message and eventually break the approve operation.

overwrite the approveSelection() method of your JFileChooser. in there you can do your checks before executing super.approveSelection().

  • JFileChooser and File.renameTo()

    Hi,
    Anyone experienced strange behaviour from the JFileChooser returned
    File Object. In my case it's an instance of:
    sun.awt.shell.Win32ShellFolder2
    Unfortunatly the File.renameTo(File file) method doesn't work
    properly with this File instance.
    Anyhelp is welcome / dzone

  • Make "File name" and "Files of type" fields read-only in JFileChooser

    I try to make the "File name" and "Files of type" fields read-only in JFileChooser dialog. Anybody
    knows how to do? Thanks.

    You mean so the user can't choose the name of the file to open or save? Not much point in even using a JFileChooser, then, is there? Or did I misunderstand the question?

  • XML Validation in PI 7.1 - Restart and skip validation possible, but how?

    Hello all,
    I read about schema validation in PI 7.1 and did a few tests on my own, but could not restart and skip validation for invalid payloaded messages. The documents say it is possible.
    Anyone know how? Thanks.
    BTW, I really think putting the schemas in server file system will cause a lot of authorization trouble in enterprises. No one gives access to the server filesystem and I don't think they will also like to open the required subdirectories for share. Asking the basis team to create the folder structures and maintaining schemas would be another pain. Don't you also think that SAP could find a better approach, like automatically uploading the schemas to the filesystem, or validating them from repository directly if possible?
    Kind regards,
    Gökhan

    Hi Gökhan,
    I am facing the same issue.
    I set up outbound xml validation in receiver agreement and tested it with valid and invalid messages.
    The validation works fine.
    But in case of validation error I tried to restart with skipping the validation. But this wasn't possible.
    I am always facing the same valdiation error.
    I already tried all different tools I know (sxi_monitor, message monitoring in rwb and in nwa)
    I am working on PI 7.11 SP6
    Did you find a solution for skipping the validation for a single message out of the monitoring?
    I know that there is the possibility of deactivate the validation in receiver agreement but thid doesn't meet the requirement of skip the validation only for a single message.
    Maybe anyone else faced and solved this issue already.
    Thanks in advance
    Jochen

  • Unable to rename folders and files on SharePoint mapped drive.

    I just installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 and have mapped a drive to my SharePoint "Shared Documents" folder.  I am able to open, save, and delete files and folders.  However, I am unable to rename files and folders.  No matter how long of
    short of a name I use I get the following error:
    "The file name you specified is not valid or too long.  Specify a different file name."
    I've mapped the "S" drive to http://hostname.domain.com/Shared Documents/
    I am a SharePoint Admin, and have confirmed that if I do not have this problem if I log into SharePoint with IE.  I have also confirmed that others are not experiencing this issue. Also, this issue did not exist on my previous installation of Windows
    7.  Therefore I assume this is a config issue.
    Also, in "My Computer" it shows the mapped SharePoint drive as a "FAT" filesystem.

    Did some more testing. From my mapped drive, I can create new folders and files, and delete them.  I created a folder in Windows Explorer, when I tried to give a name it gave me the above error and saved the folder as "New Folder".  No matter when
    I try, I cannot rename this folder unless I log into the SharePoint interface.
    Next, I tried this from the command line.  I moved to my S drive, and did a "mkdir test" and was able to create a folder named test.  Next I tried to "rename test testing" and received the following error:
    The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
    The full path is S:\test.  If I do a "mkdir testing" I am able to create the folder.  If I try to rename the folder in Explorer, it gives me the "file name not valid or too long".  I'm obviously well under the 260 character limit, so there
    has to be something wrong with the fiel name, or drive mapping.
    Also, when I "dir" the S drive it tells me the drive has no label.  "Volume in drive S has no label."
    I'm having the same issue with files. I can create a file, modify it, delete it, but can't rename it.

  • I want to use iChat video and file sharing with Windows users

    Nowadays, iChat is compatible with AOL/AIM, Google Talk, Jabber, Mac.com and MobileMe instant messaging services. I know that Yahoo Messenger support will be available soon in Mac OS X Lion.
    I tried using AOL/AIM and Google Talk natively in iChat in order to talk with Windows users which were using Google Talk application or web chatting (Me from: Google Talk - My friends from:  Google Talk, and Me from: AOL/AIM - My friends from:  Google Talk), but videoconference and file sharing were not available.
    I also tried Windows Live Messenger in iChat via Jabber intermediate, but it is not efficient and doesn't work for videoconference and file sharing.
    So, which IM service combination I should use to chat with Windows users in order to be able to use videoconference and file sharing using such a great app like iChat?
    Thanks you.

    Hi,
    A lapsed Trial or lapsed Paid for MobileMe account will not work in any fashion, as a Screen Name in iChat/AIM apps or as a Email.  (Of course it is no longer an Valid Apple ID either).
    Given that Google is a Jabber server iChat will Video (or Audio Only) Chat Jabber to Jabber.
    With a Valid AIM name (AIM, MobileMe or @mac.com) then it is supposed to work to AIM on a PC
    This tends to vary from person to person as to success.
    From AIM version 6.5 AIM introduced a Send as Typing feature called "Real Time"
    It does not work to iChat and in fact also has to be turned Off in the Buddy List at the AIM end for Video or Audio chats to work.
    The AIM app also has to be allowed through the Windows Firewall as an Exception, preferably with UPnP enabled as well and UPnP enabled in their Router.
    Trillian is a paid for App for PCs that provide an alternative.
    Recently theri site offered 3 windows versions
    The Pro version of verion 3.2 (known to work), a version 4 and a version 5 in beta.  The version 3.2 used to have a free Text chat version and only the Pro version was needed to Video.
    Until the site was reorganised the 3.2 version was "On Sale" at a reduced price.
    It seems version 5 is now out of beta
    They are still separating out a Pro version.
    It is a multi-service client
    There is also a Mac version although I have not tried it.
    I am not sure what you mean by "Manage" your MSN Contacts.
    How about using a MobileMe expired account screen name for using iChat with Windows-Google Talk users? Should I expect the same incompatibilities?
    I have already addressed part of this. The fact the name will not work full stop.
    However one way of reading this is that you are thing of linking AIM and Jabber (Google) Buddies in one Buddy List
    Directly in iChat this cannot be done - unless you are the one with the Jabber Account and an AIM Transport set up.
    You would be subject to the same Text Chat only restrictions.
    It is a bit like the fact your phone line can be used for Fax, Telephone and DSL broadband. (in fact mine does TV as well)
    You granny would not be able to talk to your Fax machine if that happened to answer the call.
    Her Fax machine might be able to communicate with your computer if you had an active Fax app on there, and a dail-up modem active to answer.

  • How to do file validation with ODI 10.1.3.5

    Hi Team,
    Please help me, how to handle file validation with ODI?
    My source is files.
    Requirement:
    With ODI i have to do the file validation and file data loading successfully. Once it is successfully done then i have to move the particular file and move to different directory.
    Any internal tool is there in ODI package to watch the file.
    Regards,
    Suresh

    Hi Suresh,
    You can do your file loading and validation in an ODI interface.
    Once you are done with the interface, add it to a package, you can set up subsequent steps in the package to move the file to another location using the built in ODI file utilities in the package.
    Terrence.

  • JFileChooser and remote filesystems

    I want to add(among local file system) a few remote filesystems to JFileChooser ,
    I implemented FileSytestemVIew(FileSystem) and File(RemoteFile) class.
    At the first glance everything looks ok - i can see local folders and remote root folder(in combo box), when i choose remote root i can see remote folders and files, but when i invoke double click to enter remote folders, exception occurs.
    for some reason JFileChooser sees 'ordinary' File - not my RemoteFile, and it treats it as a file (not folder) and wants to open it (approveSelection fires)
    Probably i did not implemented all the methods that are used ..
    Any ideas ? maybe there are some other ways to explore remote filesystems ?

  • JFileChooser and My network Places??

    Hello all,
    In the Filename of JFileChooser if i type \\100.100.100.100 or even \\100.100.100.100\d$ and click on open button it should ask the username and password of that pc and on appropriate combination of username and password it should show the list of the folder and file of that PC.
    How to get this?what is the code that is to be written in the open button event?
    Thank you,
    Ramesh shrestha

    I am running XP home with SP3.  click on start then my network place.  You should see different folders from your other computers and your router.  On the left  it should show either show or hide icons for network upnp.  If you are seeing the icons for lan and wireless and gateway then your computer settings are not setup properly.
    Right-click on start then click on properties  Click on customise then advance.  Go down to Network Connections set settings to display as connect to menu.

    My question here is not abuot ORA-4031 error and how to troubleshoot it, but about the error (FILE VALIDATION FAILED) that I receive in ORA-4031 Trobleshooting Tool on the Oracle Support web site. We do manuall analyses and troubleshooting as well, but would be nice if the tool works as well.Have you followed all the steps in (How to use the ORA-4031 Troubleshooting Tool on MOS [ID 1381442.1])? If yes, then I believe you need to log a SR for this issue as none of us maintain this tool, and you need someone from Oracle (development team who maintain it internally) to verify why you are getting that error when uploading the files.

  • Handler chain file - validation files

    Hi Everyone,
    I have webservice where I would like to log all SOAP messages. Back in the WebLogic 8.1 days the developer merely specified an annotation to a soap handler like this:
    * @editor-info:link autogen-style="java" autogen="false"
    * @jws:handler operation="foo.utils.soaphandlers.BARHandler"
    During the WebLogic 10.3 upgrade/import process this annotation disappeared. I am thus trying to restore this link to BARHandler. So... following this documentation:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/e13734/handlers.htm#i261458
    I add an annotation:
    @HandlerChain(file="bar_handler.xml")
    and created XML...
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <handler-chains xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee">
    <handler-chain>
    <handler>
    <handler-class>foo.utils.soaphandlers.BARHandler</handler-class>
    </handler>
    </handler-chain>
    </handler-chains>
    BARHandler is a modern SOAP handler I know works in another context...
    package foo.utils.soaphandlers;
    ...snip...
    public class BARHandler implements SOAPHandler<SOAPMessageContext>
    ...snip...
    Everything seems to go fairly well, until my <jwsc> task in build.xml blows up with this error (re-spaced for reading):
    build.xml:123: weblogic.wsee.tools.WsBuildException: JWS Validation failed:
    [Handler chain file validation error for file:
    file:/path/src/foo/webservice/bar_handler.xml.

       handler-config@http://www.bea.com/xml/ns/jws document or
         a valid substitution.,
    Handler chain file validation error for file:

    Element handler-chains@http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee is not a valid
       handler-config@http://www.bea.com/xml/ns/jws document or
         a valid substitution.]
    I worked all day searching for an answer, but no luck so far. I also feel like the gremlins are mocking me! Not only does the validation error repeat twice but the first sentence of JSR 181 specification says all of this is "a simplified programming model". Alas, for me, it hasn't be so "simple" :(
    Thanks a bunch for reading and if you reply I will be very grateful!

  • OLE DB Destination" failed validation and returned validation status "VS_ISBROKEN.

    Hi
    I have a package which has 10 sequence containers. Have 10 Flat File Source files and all is working perfect on BI Debug mode. When I deploy this package to server I am getting the following error.
    I have changed the property Retain the same connection = True but same problem. I have changed the data flow task to Load Project instead of Load Into Project but in error message it is still showing the old name. I have tried to remove the whole step i.e.
    Removed Load into Project Data flow with sequence container but I am getting the same error message.
    I am not able to understand the reason. Any Idea why am I getting the same error message even I do not have the Data Flow named Load Into Package. It is in SSIS 2008 and being deployed on SQL 2012 server.

    Hi MustafaH,
    According to the error message(hightlight above), it seems it's a mapping issue that Naarasimha point out in the post above. Please check this carefully.
    An OLE DB destination includes mappings between input columns and columns in the destination data source. You do not have to map input columns to all destination columns, but depending on the properties of the destination columns, errors can occur if
    no input columns are mapped to the destination columns.

    In your post, you said that it is in SSIS 2008 and being deployed on SQL 2012 server. Do you mean that you create the package deployment utility by using SSIS 2008, and then implement SSIS deployment in SSIS 2012 environment? If so, you need to
    convert the project to package deployment model to generate Manifest file in SSIS 2012. Please see:

  • JFileChooser and FileFilters

    I have the following problem:;
    I have a JFileChooser and I attached a FileFilter to it, which only allows files with the extension *.in and *.inx. Everything works well - only files with these extensions are shown in the Dialog.
    But as a user I expect, that it is not a fault if I only type in the name of the file, because I expect the programme to add the extension automatically. For example in an OpenDialog, the user sees the file test.inx and the types in "test", because he/she thinks that the extension will be added.
    This is not the case...and which is even worse, the call of fileChooser.getSelectedFiles() will return an empty array. Hence there is no possibility for the programme to add the file extension.....
    How can solve this problem?? What is my mistake?? I cannot image that Swing is not able to do this, because this common FileDialog behaviour....
    I thank everybody who tries to help me...

    The quick and dirty workaround would be to create a "Save" dialog (setDialogType method), set the Button texts to whatever you want, the same for title. When the dialog returns, you can check the file (getSelectedFile()), and if it does not exist, try the same name with the extension(s).

  • JFileChooser and thumbnail view

    How can I implement a custom JFileChooser that show thumbnail of image files such as TIFF and PNG?
    As before, I used FileDialog on Windows XP for this purpose.
    But FileDialog does not support multi file selection and file name filters.
    I tried to implement custom FileView. (getIcon() method).
    But it was so slow and strange.
    Could you guys give me a advice on this problem?

    Hi Dhiva,
    materialized view is essentially a table that is produced from other tables based on a query. It's results are physically stored in the database and are refreshed either when the user requests ('on-demand refresh') or after commit.
    A simple view is just a query stored in the database. It's results are not stored anywhere, they're calculated and returned to the user only when the view is queried.

    Hi Jayashree
    Please check this FM, SUBST_GET_FILE_LIST. Pass the file path and file name, if it returns an entry in table FILE_LIST, then the filename and path are valid.
    Hope this helps !
