JFileChooser Details and List Button

I need Help!!!!
Can someone explain to me how to enable the 'Details' and the 'List' button for the JFileChooser Metal Look & Feel. If this is not possible can someone exactly explain to me how to dislpay the file size and the file modified date in the JFileChooser display window. I have been racking by brain trying to figure this out. I need to display this information in the JFileChooser Open dialog window along with the file name, once I get to this point I will then need to sort and display these files by the file modified date. Thanks in advance for any help that I will receive on this topic.

Hi Thomas! :)
Yes, the "Details" and "List" work great! :)
It will also display the "Type" and "Attributes" of the files!
I couldn't find a "sort" function, but there is a good looking "public void setDragEnabled(boolean b)" method! :)
I use the beta version of jdk1.4 (b65), maybe in the official release there'll be a sort function..

Nick.

  • JFileChooser ("details" and "list")

    I need help with figuring out why the "details" and "list" toggle buttons are disabled, i.e. do nothing when clicked, in the JFileChooser dialog. It is also the case that the "details" button is defaulted as chosen. I cannot find anywhere in the code that these two buttons are specifically disabled or enabled. Is there a related type function that needs to be implemented? BTW, this is in JDK1.4. Any help is appreciated.

    Look in javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalFileChooserUI, line 201 (jdk1.3)
    there you can see, that these buttons get created, but disabled. There is no action prepared for these buttons.
    What we do with the jdk1.3-Filechooser-UI is to remove these buttons after creation:
    UIManager.put("FileChooserUI","MyFileChooserUI");and
    public class MyFileChooserUI extends MetalFileChooserUI
         public MyFileChooserUI(JFileChooser filechooser) {
              super(filechooser);
         public static javax.swing.plaf.ComponentUI createUI(javax.swing.JComponent c) {
             return new MyFileChooserUI((JFileChooser) c);
         public void installComponents(JFileChooser fc) {
              super.installComponents(fc);
              // remove list- und details-Button in JRE1.3
              java.awt.Component[] components = fc.getComponents();
              if (((java.awt.Container)components[1]).getComponentCount() > 13) {
                   ((java.awt.Container)fc.getComponent(1)).remove(12);
                   ((java.awt.Container)fc.getComponent(1)).remove(11);
    }

  • Next and Previous button on detail page

    I am new to Apex development and have a need to develop an application that has 2 pages. The first page displays a list of employees for instance and allows the user to sort the list on difference columns e.g., first name, last name, salary etc. The user then clicks on a employee and navigates to a second page which shows the details of the employee that the user can update and save. The second page should also include Next and Previous buttons which show the details of the next or previous employee from the SORTED list on the first page so that the user can avoid constantly switching between the two pages. How do I implement this? I thought of using collections but I don't know how to populate the collection when the user navigates out of the first page and how to reference the collection on the second page. Note that in the real application there could be a large number of rows on the first page (a few thousand) and response time is critical. Any help would be much appreciated. I am using Apex 2.2.
    Thanks
    Sadanand

    Thanks Anton. And apologies for the delay in responding to your message. I will give it a try soon.
    On a related note and as alternate implementation (i.e. not using collections), is it possible to have a tabular form (showing only one row) on the second page using the same query and filter/sort conditions as the first page with an additional feature that the first time the page is displayed, the record selected on the first page is the one shown in the tabular form? I can then use the default Next and Prev buttons of tabular forms to navigate through the records in exactly same order as the first page (assuming ofcourse that new rows have not been added by an external process in the meantime). I hope I am clear in my description.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Friends,
    The reuqirement is this:
    A user attaches doucments  ( using the Generic Object Services to attach document ) while creating/changing Purchase Requisition (ME51N / ME52N).
    Now when any user goes to see the docuemnts attached to the PR, he selects the 'Attachement List' from the context menu, he should only be able to read it and should not be allowed to change or delete the document. For this we need to disable the 'change' and 'delete' buttons from the toolbar.

    Hi,
    Probably you have uncommented the call to super class when you reimplement the method on child class (z class)
    I just implement the same thing now and it worked for me. Take a look:
    1 - Modify the SGOSATTR table by SM30, just write a Z class (in my case CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_CREATE) .
    2 - Create/inheridt a subclass (not a copy) in SE24 of the standard class.
    3 - Implement the method CHECK_STATUS in the z class. Note that the call to method on super class came commented. You only uncomment if you want to also execute a standard code in the super class.
    Here is my code:
    method CHECK_STATUS.
    NOTE - In my real implementation I have uncommented the code below because I want do standard code be executed before my own check.
    *CALL METHOD SUPER->CHECK_STATUS
    EXPORTING
       IS_LPORB  = IS_LPORB
       IS_OBJECT = IS_OBJECT
    IMPORTING
       EP_STATUS = EP_STATUS
       EP_ICON   = EP_ICON
      Check for BUS2012 = Bussinnes Object for Purchase Order
      IF IS_LPORB.TYPEID = BUS2012
      Check authorization and disable create attachment item if the user does not have authority...
    IF IS_LPORB-TYPEID = 'BUS2012'.
    AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'Z_MM001' ID 'ACTVT' FIELD '01'.
      IF sy-subrc <> 0.
        ep_status = mp_status_inactive.
      ENDIF.
    ENDIF.
    endmethod.

    Hi,
    I have solved the issue Alhamdulillah by the foll. method:
    1. Copied CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST to ZCL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST
    2. In ZCL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST there is a method called: CHECK_STATUS. I overwrote with my check;
    on_mode_changed( 'D' ). --- For display
    on_mode_changed( 'E' ). --- For edit mode.
    3. In SGOS tcode, added VIEW_ATTA to point to ZCL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST

  • Apply and OK buttons greyed out in console after updating custom lists

    Service Manager 2010 SP1
    I updated some custom lists that are used in our incidents and now the OK and Apply buttons are greyed out in the console. It's been years since I built this out and I'm hazy on how it all works. I tried putting everything back the way it was but the buttons
    are still greyed out. Any new incidents created AFTER I made the changes to the lists are working OK.
    Any ideas what happened here?
    Any help appreciated, thanks,
    Dan

    yes, that's usually the reason but as far as I can tell, all of the required fields are filled out and I've even changed each of the fields to see if that would help but it doesn't.
    This only seems to be happening with 20-30 tickets that were created before I changed my lists. Newly created tickets are OK.

  • 'Next' and 'Previous' buttons in master/detail region

    Hi,
    I've managed to successfully create a master/detail region
    which is basically a very simple photo gallery.
    The left column shows the thumbnails, and when I click on
    them it shows the full-size version in the right column.
    I've been trawling userguides and forums for hours now, and I
    just can't work out how I can put a 'next' and 'previous' button
    beneath the large image enabling the viewer to move to the next
    image.
    I'm guessing it might be something to do with setRowNumber,
    but I'm just not sure.
    I'm pulling my (receding) hair out on this one, so any help
    or useful links would be much appreciated!
    My (basic) code below
    <div spry:region="dsGT" id="thumbholder">
    <div id="thumb" spry:repeat="dsGT"><img
    src="onlinegallery/thumbs/{@path}" width="50" height="50"
    spry:setrow="dsGT"></div>
    </div>
    </div>
    <!--End Navigation Div-->
    <div id="copy">
    <div id="fullimage">
    <div spry:detailregion="dsGT">
    <img src="onlinegallery/main/{@path}" />

    Many thanks!

    They make a call to JavaScript, I'm guessing you knew that?
    I'm 96.7% JS illiterate, so I'm incapable of explaining it.
    You have to download the Spry Framework, unpackage it, look
    in the Demos folder, then look in the Gallery folder. Gallery.js, i
    think, is where that JS call goes to in order to switch out the
    next/prev image.

  • Please help! How can I validate Radio Buttons and List Menu with PHP.

    Hello everyone, I have been learning PHP step by step and
    making little projects.
    The point is I find it easy to learn by doing "practical
    projects."
    I have been reading the David Powers's Book on PHP Solutions
    and it's really great, however there is nothing mentioned regarding
    Validating Radio buttons. I know the book cannot cover every aspect
    of PHP and maybe someone in here can help.
    I have been learning how to process HTML forms with PHP.
    The problem is every book or tutorial I have read or
    encountered fall short on validation.
    I'm wondering how I can learn to validate Radio Buttons and
    Select List Menu.
    I have managed to create validation for all other fields but
    have no clue as to how I can get validation for Radio Buttons and
    List Menu.
    I would also like an error message echoed when the user does
    not click a button or make a selection and try to submit the form.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Patrick

    It's not that default value is "None." In fact it's not. It
    will only be
    "none" when the form is submitted.
    Also if your submit button is names 'send' then
    $_POST['send'] will only be
    set if the form was submitted.
    Make sure you didn't hit the refresh button on your browser
    which usually
    reposts the information. Also make sure you did not reach the
    form from
    another form with the same button names.
    Otherwise paste the snippet.
    Also you can check what fields are set in the post array by
    adding this to
    the top of (or anywhere on) your page:
    print_r($_POST);

  • Drop down lists and email buttons

    I am creating a form and I have about twenty items in a drop down list. I was wondering if and how I can set it so each item selected will cause an email button I have to change address. i.e item 1 sets the email button to [email protected] and item 2 sets the button to [email protected] I think it has something to do with binding but I only have basic training so I am lost. Any help that you can give will be greatly appreciated . Thank you in advance

    As mentioned, you can´t do that in InDesign but fortunately it´s fairly easy task to do in Acrobat Professional. You didn´t mention what are you sending, just an empty email that sender can fill in email client, whole PDF as attachment or some form data from PDF... all those options are possible by few lines of javascript in Acrobat side.
    I made you a quick sample which just opens up an email client, populates email address based on choise that user has made in combobox and some custom subject and body meassage text. You can find it from my dropbox: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17227987/sampleform.pdf
    There´s only two formfields in that PDF; combobox for choosing email recipient (AA = [email protected], BB = [email protected] etc) and submit button. Check javascript code from
    -combobox´s properties > Validate tab and
    -button´s properties > Actions > Run a javascript.
    In combobox, small javascript sets the myemail variable´s value based on the choise user makes. In Button there´s small javascript that triggers the email client and uses the value of myemail variable as a target email address.
    ps. this sample probably works only in Acrobat and Adobe Reader. I have no idea how for instance MacOS Preview supports PDF javascript, probably not very well....=)

  • How do you highlight iHelp Buttons and List Applet fields

    How do you highlight iHelp Buttons and List Applet fields? I've followed all the steps in the Bookshelf but it seems like buttons and list applet fields do not highlight. The highlight feature only seems to work in form applets. Is this a known issue? Are there workarounds for this?
    Thanks
    Bernhard
    Edited by: Bernhard on Dec 12, 2011 2:06 PM

    Bernhard
    I remember that colors of single list applet fields cannot be changed, since the whole list is regarded as one "control" itself. It works for single fields in form applets (as you said) but not in list applets. There is a document in MyOracleSupport pointing this out, but at the moment I can't find it.
    Regarding iHelp Buttons I have no idea.

  • Quick search and New buttons on master - detail pages

    Hi
    When I generate master-detail pages, the master has quick search and new button, but detail's doesn't. How can I generate the detail with quick search and new button options?
    Thanks in advance
    Liceth

    Liceth,
    Only one group within a page can have Quick Search functionality.
    A New button is generated for a group when insert is allowed and the layout style includes a form layout page (table-form, select-form, form or tree-form)

  • MacBook Air '11 - Grey Power Button with "You have to restart your computer." message. I reopened it and looked @ the details and it said panic and then a bunch of code.

    Basically I was playing my  game and running Skype, talking to friends and the display flickered and then a grey box with a power button and a message that said "You have to restart your computer." It booted up fine, then I looked at the details and it said something about a panic report and the one program it mentioned was Skype. I haven't downloaded anything off of Skype. I'm scared because I just got this computer as a gift and I don't know what to do and I don't want to make it worse. It's been about 15 minutes and it seems to be running fine. I haven't started up Skype again.

    Read about Kernel Panics here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3742
    Most are the result of conflicting hardware drivers or faulty memory, but in your case it seems Skype may have been the culprit. Make sure you are using its latest version.

  • You have an Amazon wish list button available as an add on and I can't successfully install it.

    I've tried adding it on from the Amazon site and also from the Firefox "add-ons" page. It shows the install bar moving across, says do I want to restart Firefox. I click to restart, it restarts and the button isn't there. With the Amazon toolbar, I do all that and there's the toolbar when Firefox restarts (after I go to "view" and click on "Amazon toolbar". I've tried clicking on the "add ons toolbar" under "view" also, and that does nothing to help my problem.
    It could be Amazon no longer allows just the button, but if that's the case, then Firefox shouldn't show it as an available add on.
