JFrame not keeping focus

How can I ensure that a JFrame will always keep focus?. I need it to always remain on top and be visible
thanks

A tricky one.
Java doesn't allow this. Not even the upcoming version 1.4 allows this.
I have done it, though and many people on this forum have. What you need to do is go native. If you are on the Windows platform write a JNI (Java Native Interface) compliant DLL and call it from your code using the native keyword. If you want some code write me at [email protected]

I am having a very weird issue with the Messages app.
It will not keep history of the chat after I close down the application and open it up again. This is what I have done so far.
    - Deleted relevant .plists, Saved Application State folder, Repaired Permissions, Re-installed 10.8.4 Combo Update, deleted the app from terminal, re-installed the app using Pacifist from the downloaded 10.8 app from the App Store, and also updated the "Pacified" Messages app, using Pacifist again.
Still any messages will get deleted after i start up.
In ~/Library/Messages/Archive I can find all of the messages normally.

    Thanks for your help.
Weird thing, the "Archive" folder was not under my ownership. Changed it, applied to enclosed items... No change. Still loses the history. Although the messages still get saved on their respective folders.
Now in regards to the log, it stopped logging after a while for no apparent reason. Here is the output:

Issue : JTextFeild is not getting focusThat's an incomplete bug report, not a question. This is a forum, not a bug tracking system. Try bugs.sun.com. And you may want to include a small sample program in the bug report that demonstrates the problem.

  • Delivery Notes keep getting generated

    Hi All
I have a really challenging issue...
I have a number of Purchase Orders that were set up in 1999 and have been invoiced and Goods receipted.
For some reason delivery notes keep getting generated for these PO's - one last night dated 19/05/2010 for a PO in 1999
Now I think that the order is some kind of Stock transport order as the vendor is one of our plants and they keep complaining of stock being allocated for these deliveries
Now....I thought it would be as easy as going into the delivery note via (VL02N) and deleting the delivery requirement (line item) but this seems to back order the stock until another delivery note is generated.
I have looked at the PO and it seems as if the Delivery Completed indicator and the final delivery are not checked
I tried to check these and save the PO but it is asking me now to enter a delivery type (The field is greyed out though)
How can I get round this and stop these notes being generated?  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Andy

Check your Delivery due list batch job variant and try to exclude prior year PO's.
May be you can select the lines and click on Block Icon.
    Regards
    Sai

I clicked on iMessage on my Macbook Pro today for the first time, and now NOTES keeps opening up every 5 seconds, with a new note.  I cannot stop it from opening. If I close it or force close, it opens again in 5 seconds.  I can't get rid of it.  I have tried to clear out the iMessage settings I had put in, and I've tried to adjust the Accounts to not include notes to synch.  But, Notes will not stop.  It opens a new note, and even if you ignore it, it assumes preference every 5 seconds, and the Mac is impossible to use.

Do you have any Boot Camp or other secondary partitions set up on your system? If so then try running a disk verification routine (chkdsk, etc.) in Windows to repair the disk. While I've not heard of it happening recently, in the past errors in these partitions have resulted in stubborn ghost files appearing in OS X.

About a month ago I added some new audio books to my iPod Classic and then after disconnecting, I discovered EVERYTHING had been erased.
I had to restore through my iTunes but then I could not load my music back on.
I uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes and completely reformated the iPod drive.
I successfully got my music and books back on but then added a new book two days ago only to discover everything got erased AGAIN!!!
Of course, my 1 Year Warranty was up about a week before the first incident.....
I formatted the iPod again, uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes (it was freezing during sync) and downloaded all my music and books again.
Now I have several books that will not play (they play on iTunes and they played on the iPod before all these events) and the iPod does not keep track of where I was in a book when I have to stop and go to something else.
Does anyone know what is going on with this thing???  I have a 5th Gen Video and in all the years I've had it, I've NEVER had problems like this!
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get my iPod Classic up and running properly again?
    Thanks.

When iTunes/iPod sync process failed due to timeout, the iPod, has only the initilaised  filesytem structure at the start of the Sync.
The timeout failure could be due to
Bad hardisk - do the iPod disk diagnostic, refer to this excellent post by tt2
Slow USB port or resource - Dont use any USB hub, disconnect all other USB devices while syncing
Timeout due to Antivirus or other plugins - disconnect from Internet and stop the Antivirus or monitoribng software if you are syncing.
Preferably stop doing other things while syncing this ancient device, which the latest iTunes designer, think will soon be extinct.
    Have a nice day!

  • Any way to keep apps on my ipod touch but not keep copies of them on my PC?

Is there any way to keep apps on my ipod touch but not keep copies of them on my PC? I have space issues on my PC, so I don't want to have to keep copies there. I deleted the apps from my PC, but when I synced my ipod to add some photos, all my apps were deleted from my ipod. Is there any way to be able to just sync photos and music, and not apps? Seems I am able to manually manage music, which allows me to not have to keep my music library stored on my PC, but can't get the photos to sync without the apps syncing too.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I'm new at this.
    Thanks.

though purchased apps can be re-downloaded for free, i strongly advise against such a practice !

you would be better off to move your iTunes library to an external drive, thus freeing up space on your startup disk. this read will tell you how http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364.

  • Windows 8.1 will not keep the correct time on Dell PC - Clock worked fine when the machine had Windows 7 as OS.

I can set it manually or by Internet time sync but it does not keep time or update again from the Internet automatically.
Another real time wasting feature of Windows 8?  Gosh Microsoft, I really need to get some productive work done!

    Hi,
Meanwhile, you can also re-register time service in your Windows 8.1 system as a test
    Open commmand prompt
In the Command window type net stop w32time
    Type w32tm /unregister
    Type w32tm /register
    Type net start w32time
Check whether the time in your BIOS is correct.
If the Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 use different machines, and this issue only happened after you shut down your Windows 8.1 machine, then it might be the CMOS battery issue in your Windows 8.1 machine, you can consider to change a cmos battery.

  • Word to PDF does not keep hyperlinks in Table of Contents ?

I have used my free trial of Adobe CreatePDF before purchasing the annual subscription.
I was surprised to see that the PDF document did not keep the clickable hyperlinks that Word uses in a Table of Contents. As this is the exact same behaviour as the "Save as PDF ..." option that I have natively available on my computer I don't see the point of paying a subscription to the service. Or am I doing something wrong?
    MAC OS X Lion (10.7.2)
    Office for Mac 2011
150-page .doc document with Section, Chapter, and various Heading Styles defined
    WORD automatically-built Table of Contents
In the WORD document, the page numbers in the Table of Contents are hyperlinks to the concerned page
Convert WORD to PDF using "Save as PDF ..." option in the "Print..." dialog box
====> Table of Contents hyperlinks are not preserved (the page numbers are no longer clickable)
Convert WORD to PDF using Adobe CreatePDF
====> Table of Contents hyperlinks are not preserved (the page numbers are no longer clickable)
Am I missing something or is this the way it is intended (not) to work?
P.S.: I know that, on the MAC, I can use Preview to manipulate the PDF document I obtain through "Print..." > "Save as PDF...". One of the things I can do is to select the page numbers in the Table of Contents and add a 'link' to each. But this is a VERY cumbersome process. Actually, I have to create a link for each page number, one at a time, on a table of contents that may consist of in excess of 50 entries. As I have a collection of 50-odd documents and am on a schedule of distributing new versions every two weeks or so, this procedure is completely unusable. Hence my search for a (paid) service that converts my documents while preserving the hyperlinks of the Word-created Table of Contents. Either I am doing something wrong or such service does simply not exist ...

    Good day fgrexsg,
You are correct in that the workflow you described will not produce links in the resulting PDF files.  The steps that Lori outlined work great if you're working on Office for Windows in terms of getting the links to work when converting using the CreatePDF service.
In order to make this work on the Mac, you'll have to take a few extra steps within Office first.
You're going to have to repeat this step for each item in your TOC.  While this will be time-consuming for a 150-page document, it will work.
Within your TOC, highlight the entire entry listing (e.g. Topic 1.........3)
Once the entire line is highlighted, choose Insert > Hyperlink
Click 'Document' to select a location within the current document.
Under the 'Anchor' option, either type in the Heading/Sub-heading (must be exact) of the page you want the hyperlink to attach to or click 'Locate' and find the proper Heading/Sub-heading within the structure.
As I said, this will probably be time-consuming on such a large document, but it will work.
Unfortunately Office for Mac just simply isn't as full-featured as its Windows counterpart.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
    Kind regards,
    David
