Hi,
I have installed the Oracle Discussion server (Jive Forum) of version *5.5.20 .2-oracle*, but when i used few example over http://docs.jivesoftware.com/forums/latest/documentation/web-services-developer-guide.html in my Fusion Application, I unable to create any new instance of class ServiceLocator. But the ServiceLocator API is present in 5.5.6 version. Can anyone suggest me on this.
My code is:

import com.jivesoftware.ws.client.ServiceLocator;

This is very urgent for me.

Is Forums running in a cluster ? If it's the case, did you activated Tangosol (Forums administration console > System > Cache Settings) on each server node ? Hi All,
We could successfully configure external LDAP with Webcenter Discussion forum. In turns Jive forum.
Problem we are facing : It is authenticating for display name instead of actual userid.
EX:
John Paul (display name)
[email protected] (email id)
John.paul (userid)
It is accepting John Paul as username instead of john.paul. This is issue as there can be duplicate display names.
Which parameter and where to configure to make sure Authentication is done for userid only.

I think jive is used in webcenter discussions?

How to increase the thread count in jive forum RSS feed

Dear All,
We are using Enterprise portal and we have installed jive forums sp14, we have a requirement of reading forums rss feeds and integrating in to a web page, currently we are doing that but the problem is rss feed in forums has maximum feed of 10, and we don't have the option of giving the user to read entire RSS feed of a particular forum.
i want increase the RSS feed count how can i do this.

Hi Experts,
We are in the process of configuring Jive forums in Portal.
I am facing the following challenges,
1.How to sending an email to group of users of a forum category on creation of a new thread (Notification).And where to configure the same.
2.Configuring the periodic moderation mail to the user based on the threads he created in a particular forum he is moderating.

The users are watching the tread and all of our users have the right mail adress in the profile.
i think i forgot some configurations?! Did i have to change something in the Visual Admin or so?
As i told.. i only changed the 2 configuration steps as you can see in the first post.

OWC Discussions (Jive Forums) - Add custom report - anyone tried?

Has anyone out there tried to add a custom (Java) report class on the Jive Forums Admin Console's report utility? I created a custom report class and want to install it using the Admin Console. However, when I click the "Install Class" button, the error says that the "Class is not an implementation of com.jivesoftware.base.stats.Report". But my custom class extends AbstractForumReport which is a subclass of AbstractReport which implements the Report interface. I have been unsuccessful in finding anyone who has successfully accomplished this.
The version of Jive Forums that I am running is the only one available from the webcenter (10.1.3) companion cd: Jive Forums Silver (5.1.0). I don't have the time or option to upgrade to 11g.

Are you using WebCenter as well to use the forum?
If so, you can set the permissions there as well.
e.g. in WebCenter Spaces, you can change the permissions of the moderator role to include the privilege of editing / deleting posts or replies per space, which gives you greater flexibility opposed to granting people the privilege in the forum app.
I'm quite sure there is a similar setting in a WebCenter Portal application, but am not 101% sure.

Scroll Bar removal from Jive Forums

We are currently on Netweaver 7.0 SP15. We have downloaded Forums from service market place and deployed into our landscape. All the functionallities are working fine except that I get additional Vertical Scroll Bar.
Has anyone else implemented this and we are using Light Framework Page.

Mail send error from Jive forum

Hi Gurus,
I have a problem:
in our portal implemented a jive forum, but we cannot send any mail from forum. The portal send mail (e.g. if I create a new collaboration room, I get the invite mail).
What should I configure to repair this bug?

the configuration for the email notification of the Forums can be found in the Administration console from the forums (the Forum Administrator has it).

Oracle Jive Forum Viewer Portlet problem in Firefox

Has anyone used the Oracle-provided JIVE Forum Viewer portlet? We have built one with the personalization function enabled, so users can go to the personalize page to select the forum they want to view in the portlet.
Everything works fine now, except that the tree menu to display all the categories and forums on the personalization page does not display or respond to mouse clicks correctly in Firefox. But if you right-click in the region of the tree menu, everything will just become fine.
We wonder if anybody can help us to identify the problem and fix it. Thank you in advance!

Private Messages in JIVE Forum

Hi,
I want to enable private messaging in JIVe Forum. Jive Forum Thread Settings

Hello All,
Currently in our portal environment, we implemented the Jive forums. And the settings for the each thread in a forum as follows below.
1) Number of correct answers the owner can make is = > 1
2) Number of of helpful answers for each thread => 2
I found the option where we can set/increase the Number of of helpful answers for each thread => 3 or 6 etc. By navigating "Expert features " .
But, here in my case , i need to increase the way of making the correct answers to more than 1 , may ( 5 to 10).
Could you please explain me , is there any settings where i can make the changes or, these changes can be done through the development.

Error in Jive forum

Hi,
We installed jive forum last week, and configured diffent catgories and posted threads.
Now today after more users logged on all users get an error Javanullpointer. Whne I look in the NWA log it says
com.jivesoftware.forum.ForumThreadNotFoundException: Thread 11 could not be loaded from the database
The forume log says:
at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
Any ideas what this could be?

SAP - Jive Forum Version Question

Hi Everyone,
Dumb question here. We are running EP7 SP12. I downloaded and installed the SP12 version of the new Jive forum software for the portal, but I saw that they have SP13 and SP14 versions. So, here is the question. Is there any harm in downloading the SP14 version and loading that or should we stick with the SP12 version? I ask because I understand that the TREX search functions integrate with the SP14 version.

I'm afraid that the access to the search administration has been removed and any configuration to the search engine included into the newly integrated forums solution is not officially supported.

Unable to login to jive forum console

Webcenter Portal 11.1.1.7.
Connection is success under database navigator.
However I am getting the below error when I am trying to login to http://localhost:8890/owc_discussions/admin/login.jsp with weblogic/weblogic1 .
Login failed:make sure your username and password are correct and that you are an admin or moderator.
Also the data source is inplace as below in weblogic.

Yes Webcenter Portal and Discussions server are running in the same server.
No I did not try enabling LDAP debugging option of JIVE.
I do not have any external LDAP configured.
My XML looks as below
