  • Effect of creating new Jobs & grades in Existing HRMS system

    Dear Experts...
We are already live with more than 3000 empoyees with modules like payroll, OLM and PMS.
Now all of sudden our users want to create new job for interns and create new grades for them.
All these will be added to the existing jobs and grades...
Will this have effect? what is impact on Payroll.. ??
I can simply create them using Job KFF ... but something fails.. Oracle will say .. you did not follow standards....
    Any help pls ??

    Hi Rahul,
This is a perfectly normal request from any HR user and common requirement in any HRMS system.
You can add as many grades and jobs to your Oracle HRMS/HCM system anytime without jeopardizing your existing data as long as you're entering them from the standard screens or loading through public APIs.
I'm not from "Oracle" but I can say that in doing so you'll be following "the standards" and Oracle will provide support in case of issues.
As for impact on Payroll, once you've associated these new grades and jobs to your employees and if there are benefits/deductions linked to them, then yes, your payroll would be impacted. Whether it will correctly reflect on your Payroll depends on your configuration (elements, links, fast-formula, etc...).
Anyway, you'll have to carefully do dummy runs and check the cases on a 'Test' instance before deploying onto Production Environment.
    HTH.

  • Oracle HRMS Designation change

    Hi,
We already have Vice President as Designation in our Oracle HRMs(core HR) system.
We have requirement to split Vice President into VP1,VP2 and VP3.
We are asked to to do Impact analysis on the same in Core HRMS .
Please can you help me to find out where all the impact would be if we implement the above Designations.
One thing is sure we need to retagg the existing employees to new Designations that can be done from assignment API.

When I read your title, my first thought was "My Oracle library is exactly where it always has been - top 2 shelves left wall of my office. It's so importannt, why would anyone chage their Library??"
But - in answer to your question, I highly recommend reading the relevant Metalink Note:131321.1 and Note:271451.1

  • Hyperion Workforce Vs Oracle HRMS Budgeting-HR

    Hi All,
We are implementing Hyperion planning and as client uses Oracle payroll they are insisiting to use oracle HRMS budgeting.
I found Oracle is not as flexible as hyperion workforce in terms of using multiple factors for budgeting like - Grade, dependents, cost centres etc.
Where as Oracle allows to create budget on llimited factors of any of Job, Position, Grade and organization or combination but I am not sure it accomodates employee transfers, planned departures and change positions which are available in workforce.
Did anyone faced the same issue of selecting either Oracle HRMS or Hyperion workforce? Please let me know and if you can list what are the benefits and limitations of each applications it would be great.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    Hi:
My choice will always be Oracle Hyperion. This is also Oracle recommendation. Other than the benefits you listed, the biggest drawback of HR Budget is that it cannot derive the budget which I hope Hyperion does. HR Budget only captures the amount derived outside system. Moreover its a tedious process to update and maintain budgets in HR if your line items are a lot.
    My reco will be HYPERION!!!

  • TO ADD A CUSTOM ENTRY IN RIGHT CLICK POP UP MENU IN ORACLE HRMS FLEX FIELDS

We are building a custom help for Oracle HRMS. For this I need to add a custom Help entry in the right click pop up menu. I did this by adding the code APP_POPUP.INSTANTIATE('POPUP10','Custom Help',TRUE,'LINE') in the APPCORE lib. After this change the right click menu shows the new entry 'Custom Help' when user right clicks in any of the form but the new entry Custom Help' doesn't show up when I right click in flexfields. I am sure I need to do some thing else for flex fields.. Does any one have any idea on this ?

You have to refer to the Current Form, Current Block , Current Item so that the menu appears only in the form where you want to see.

  • List of standard workflow in oracle HRMS 11i - used in SSHR

    Hi everybody,
I want to know all the list of standard workflow and their description, defined in oracle HRMS and used in SSHR.
Is there anyway to know that ??
Please can you give me an answer ASAP.

    i explain my need :
i want to have the list of standard workflow processes defined for functions in HRSS.
So i want to know if they are saved in a system table, if it is the case, which program i must execute to have the result..
i read in this manual "Oracle Self-Service Human Resouces Deploy Self-Service Capability Guide" Chapter 4 that :
" SSHR uses workflow processes to combine related functions into a single transaction (for example, to add Special Information Types to Change Assignment or to Personal Information). and to control the transaction flow between the initiating user and other users such as a manager, an HR professional, or an applicant.
You use the Workflow Builder to look at the delivered processes which have been designed to support typical business processes."
i want to know which business processes are supported by SSHR.
thank you very much for your help

  • Element Entries and Absences in Oracle HRMS 11.5.7 FP.K

Element Entries and Absences in Oracle HRMS 11.5.7 FP.K
Does anybody know if there are any changes in FP.K regarding Creation of Element Entries and Absence Monitoring Window?
I can see the record in ELEMENT ENTRIES for Annual Leave for days entitled
    (tables affected HR.pay_element_entries_f and HR.pay_element_entry_values_f)
but in Absence Window the Remaining Balance is not changed. (from view PAY_VIEW_ACCRUAL_PLANS_V )
If anyone has any idea of how this is handled it will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks & regards,

I don't think you will find any one place for this documentation!
    Try some of the following:
The 'product' is sometimes known as 'availability'. That may help MetaLink searches.
The functionality was delivered in patch 4429140.
That patch was then included in HR FP.K RUP1 and RUP2. Their redmes may contain soemthing about it.
The ebst docuemntation I have found is in MetaLink note 414834.1 which in turn relates to a number of other notes.
Hope this helps. If it doesn't, please come back as I may be able to find some presentatiosn I've given customers. I ahve also impelmented this a few times now and can probably help with further information.

  • Period Closing in Oracle HRMS

    Good day,
I just would like to inquire if there is a period closing functionality in Oracle HRMS as well (similar to that of the other Oracle applications, Oracle AP)? Is there a way I can limit users from creating entries (say, absence entries) from the previous periods? Kindly advise. Thank you so much in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Jeanette Bago

    Hi Subhasish,
Will this also restrict users from creating absence entries and making changes to records (people, assignment, salary) with dates effective during the closed periods? Or this setup will only apply to transactions processed within the payroll module. Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Jeanette Bago

  • Architectural difference in oracle HRMS 11i and r12

Hi - does anyone have information on the architectural difference between 11i and r12 in oracle hrms??

    Hi 924227,
There is not much difference between 11i and R12 with respect to architecture.
Some D2k forms moved to OAF and mainly bug fixes and minor enhancements.
You can find all the details in the below note -
Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS / HCM Information Center [ID 1099813.1]
In Fusion, there will be many changes as a lot of things are incorporated from Pplsoft.
    Cheers,

  • Checklists in Oracle HRMS R12

    Hi All,
I'm Using Checklists in Oracle HRMS R12.
When I am trying to create a life event reason(Total compensation-->general definitions-->additional setup)
I'm not able to select the Person Changes and Related Person Changes tabs as they are being shown as disabled.
Some one advice me on why those two tabs are disabled?
I can see the life event reasons which means OAB is installed, I guess
    Any Suggestions?
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
Oracle Advanced Benefits (OAB) must be installed in order to create a Life Event with Defined Person Changes. So a full install of OAB is a mandatory prerequisite to using Life Event Checklists.
So Please check, and Install Oracle Advanced Benefits (OAB) in order to set up life events.
    This will resolve your issue.

  • What is the purpose  of Date From and Date To In Oracle HRMS ?

    hi
    I have doubt on
What is the purpose of Date From and Date To In Oracle HRMS?
    Thanks

Where do you see these fields? Please give full details (eg, the navigation path).
If you're referring to Effective Start Date and Effective End Date (effective_start_date, effective_end_date) these are two fields that appear on many HRMS entities. They're used to store dated history over time. For example:
    14-Jan-2009 to 19-Apr-2009 - Pam Stephens
20-Apr-2009 to date - Pam Erickson
In this example Pam got married on the 20th April 2009 and changed her surname from Stephens to Erickson. Here the history of changes are kept so that if we date-track to any time prior to the 20th April 2009 we'll see Pam Stephens and if we date-track on or after the 20th April 2009 we'll see Pam Erickson.
Check out the following Oracle Support article for more information:
How Date Track Works [ID 177733.1]

    >
I have a dbms job running every day by hour 20 now i want to change it to 23 hours for today and again back to normal hour 20.
    >
Use the DBMS_JOB.CHANGE procedure to change the next job time.
See the example in the DBMS_JOB chapter of the packages and types doc
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28419/d_job.htm
Search for CHANGE Procedure and follow the example
    >
    Usage Notes
•You must issue a COMMIT statement immediately after the statement.
•The parameters instance and force are added for job queue affinity. Job queue affinity gives users the ability to indicate whether a particular instance or any instance can run a submitted job.
•If the parameters what, next_date, or interval are NULL, then leave that value as it is.
    Example
    BEGIN
    DBMS_JOB.CHANGE(14144, null, null, 'sysdate+3');
    COMMIT;
    END;
