Hyperion Workforce Vs Oracle HRMS Budgeting-HR

Hi All,
We are implementing Hyperion planning and as client uses Oracle payroll they are insisiting to use oracle HRMS budgeting.
I found Oracle is not as flexible as hyperion workforce in terms of using multiple factors for budgeting like - Grade, dependents, cost centres etc.
Where as Oracle allows to create budget on llimited factors of any of Job, Position, Grade and organization or combination but I am not sure it accomodates employee transfers, planned departures and change positions which are available in workforce.
Did anyone faced the same issue of selecting either Oracle HRMS or Hyperion workforce? Please let me know and if you can list what are the benefits and limitations of each applications it would be great.
Thanks,
Ravi

Hi:
My choice will always be Oracle Hyperion. This is also Oracle recommendation. Other than the benefits you listed, the biggest drawback of HR Budget is that it cannot derive the budget which I hope Hyperion does. HR Budget only captures the amount derived outside system. Moreover its a tedious process to update and maintain budgets in HR if your line items are a lot.
My reco will be HYPERION!!!

KKN

  • Hyperion Workforce planning Vs HRMS

Can someone tell me what are the major advantages of Hyperion Workforce Planning module over Oracle HRMS?
Waiting for expert suggestions! Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
For creating Employee dimension and associating the attributes like Race, Gender etc to the employee.
Step 1 :First create the attribute dimension with the members in the planning application for Race, gender etc and associate them to Employee Dimension.
step 2: Create the .csv for the 1000 employee to load that in the planning application.
That file will have all the columns like
    Example:
Parent, Employee, Alias: Default, Data Storage, Aggregation (Wrkforce), Attribute.
    "Existing Employee",XYZ,XYZ,Store,+,Male.
Use the Outline Load utility to load the Employees under Parent "Existing Employees". This way you can load the metadata for
your Employee dimension and also your attribute will be associated at the same time. Once your dimension or metadata for employee gets loaded,
you can then load the data corresponding to the Employees.
    Hope you understand...
    Thanks,

  • Oracle HRMS delivered reports

    Hi,
Are there are any standard reports (regarding employee, assignment details etc..) available as seeded in Oracle? The only ones I could see are the EEO reporting.
    Thanks
    Usha.

    Usha,
I am hesitant to specify potential conflicts and impact since I don't know the particular details of your setups and configuration. You can set up numerous organization hierarchies to meet your reporting needs, as outlined in the reading below.
However, the references for the areas of integration you mentioned in your posting are:
    Oracle HRMS Implementation Guide [B14466-01]
    Define Organization Hierarchies (Optional)
An organization can belong to any number of hierarchies, but it can only appear once in any hierarchy.
Enable Position Control on Organizations (Optional)
Designate an organization hierarchy as the primary position control hierarchy. Any versions you create of this hierarchy are also position controlled.

  • Hyperion Workforce Planning - 100K employees - 11.1.2.2

    Hi to all,
I am facing quite a challenge on this one. My clients requirements for a budget/simulation employee application is to load all existing employees into Hyperion workforce Planning.
I know it sound odd loading all the 100K employees from Peoplesoft, I finished installing Workforce, next step is to start stress testing by loading 10K employees,20K etc.
Any of you has similar experiences with large employee numbers? Any Issues with the existing employees forms?
    Please share your thoughts.
    Regards to All

If it is the default admin account then there shouldn't be a problem because the native SID should stay the same.
If it is a different native admin account then this will change and you would have to update it in the HSP_USERS table.
Sometimes it is easier to log into planning on the source environment, update the application owner to be admin, create an application on your target environment with admin, then migrate.
Once the migration has finished you can always change the application owner to another admin account.
    Cheers

  • Pre-requisites for Drill-Down from Hyperion Planning to Oracle GL

I am using Hyperion Planning 11.1.2 for maintaining budgets. I do comparison of actual vs budget in Hyperion. I export actual results from Oracle General Ledger (11.5.10) in flat file and upload to Hyperion planning using FDM. I maintain mapping in FDM for flat file and the Hyperion members.
Q1) Is it possible to drill down actual numbers from Hyperion planning to Oracle General Ledger via FDM?
Q2) If yes, what are prerequisites for using drill-down functionality?
Can anyone please answer and refer some link/material that may help me in setting this up?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks
But when i try to log in i m getting error bellow"
Failure of server APACHE bridge: No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF."
So do u have any other reference plz

  • Need help in creating documents for Contacts in Oracle HRMS

We are trying to add documents to Contacts in Oracle HRMS. (11.5.10.2)
Navigation: Oracle HR Super User -> Fastpath -> Documents of Record
Search for a Contact -> Manage Documents of Record -> Create Document of Record.
In Document Information -> Type is mandatory field but the LOV is not returning any values.
The LOV works fine for both system defined and custom document types when trying to create documents for Employees or External Contractors.
But we would need to be able to add documents for Contacts also.
Please let us know if this expected functionality or if there is any setup that is needed.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Differences between Hyperion consolidation and Oracle Financials Consolidat

I'm looking for a document- recommendations etc. explaining why using Hyperion Consolidations versus Oracle Financials Consolidation ?
    Thanks
    Marcel

    Genie,
I agree that a case is made on how well these two ERPs solve the day to day tasks before a company chooses one of these two. But my question is aimed at finance to begin with. You are going to need a general ledger for any company or government regardless of ERP. And how well you can drive the ledger to map your business is the key here.
The way ledger is built is around a business area ,company or country and is very tighly designed in SAP. I would like to know if there is any equivalent of the configuration items in ORACLE. I am more interested in terminology of ORACLE.
    For example ,
    <u><b><u><b>SAP ====> ORACLE</b></u>
    <u><b>GL ==> Book In ORACLE</b></u>
    <b><u>Document Number ===> Invoice Number</u></b>
<b><u>Posting Period in SAP ==> Posting period In ORACLE</b></u></u></b>
Most of the terms are finance terms , so they are common ( eg. an account number is an account number in ORACLE and SAP ) between two systems. I am interested in any specific thing that is available in ORACLE but not in SAP and  vice verse.
thanks for the link you have provided.
    Its very useful.

  • Online Help for Oracle HRMS Self Service System

I am looking into developing context-sensitive online help for an Oracle HRMS Self Service application. There is currently no online help for the application; all help is provided in printed and online docs, so users are having trouble navigating to the info they need. Help is needed! My initial questions are:
Would I need to create OHJ or OHW?
Could I use RoboHelp to develop the content?
Is there a reference document you can point me to?
    Thanks
    Belinda

    Hi Belinda,
You would create Oracle Help, and then deploy it using OHJ or OHW.
The format of the help is the same. There is nothing specific that needs to be done for one or the other. If your system i s a Web application, you would use OHW and otherwise, you would use OHJ.
You can read more about Oracle Help on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/help/index.html.
(Read the FAQ for more information about the choice between OHJ and OHW.)
Personally, I would not recommend RoboHelp to create Oracle Help. RoboHelp has a lot of nice features, but the Oracle Help output feature is fairly buggy, especially if you are creating a large helpset, or a helpset that has subhelpsets.
At Oracle, a lot of help development is done using DreamWeaver and an in-house build tool, called the Oracle Help Build Tool. This is available for free. Send me a mail ([email protected]) if you want a copy.
    Regards,
    Pete
