Journal Ref2 field : AP credit note

Hi,
Have noticed that in the Account Balance for Business Partner; Ref2 field is not being filled in the Journal when there is an AP Credit Note; when in actual fact this field is being filled in the AP Credit note Supplier Ref field.
Any ideas where I should include my Ref2 Comments in the ap credit note? so that when the journal is created it picks up that field as well?
Thanks.

Hi,
You should be able to find and access it if you have access rights.
Check the link of the Note by clicking on the Note No. : [541627|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1odSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=541627]

  • Vendor Ref No. does not show in Journal Entry for AP Credit

AP Invoice journals show the vendor reference number in field Ref 2.  However, when creating an AP Credit memo, the vendor reference number does not show in the journal for the credit memo, instead the field Ref 2 is used for the base document number.
I have two clients who have pointed out that they would expect to see the vendor ref number in the Ref 2 field in the journal when an AP Credit is created, as this is the functionality for Goods Receipts and AP Invoices.
Both clients are currently manually updating the Ref 2 field in the journal for AP Credit, so that in the BP account transactions view they can sort field Ref2 by vendor reference number.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a work around for this?

  • Ref.2 field of JE not updated through A/P Credit Memo

    Hi Experts,
    I am using SBO 8.81 PL 07.
I have observed that when I create A/P Credit Memo, SAP doesnot save the Vendor Ref. (NumAtCard) field in the corresponding JE's ref.2 or any other field.
It happens when we create A/P Invoice.
I believe it is important for Accounts person to have that details.
Is it a bug or it is correct functionality ?
    Best Regards,
    Samir Gandhi

    Hi Samir,
I am not mentioning copying credit not to JE.
I just told you regarding document settings option for credit note and invoice.
E,g if you open document settings window and check for per document tab, select AP invoice- you will find option i.e., Allow copying supplier reference number to target documemts .
similar option is not available for credit note.
    Thanks,

  • Assignment Field In Customer Line Item While Credit Note - SD

When Invoice is been Generated through SD , assignment field in Customer Line item is getting SD Invoice number.
But while Generating Credit Note through SD , it is taking Customer
Account number in teh same field. What could be the reason ?
We need Credit memo number in the said field.
    thanks in advance.

These configurations come from the copy controls. In the Copy controls you need to assign the correct requirements, allocation number and the reference number. For the copy controls for your crredit memo document, you need to change it similar to your billing document settings. The transaction code for this is VTFA and VTFL. Hope this helps.
I found a similar thread for your reference in the SDN.

  • Field Partner Bank Type in Credit notes in AR

    Dear all,
We sometimes need to pay by bank transfer credit notes to some of our customers.
I know that it is possible to maintain the field Partner Bank Type in the customer master data for different bank accounts and then select in the AR item which bank account we want to use in the payment run.
However, this field (BSEG-BVTYP) does not seem to be available when the line item in AR corresponds to a credit. Is there any configuration setting that can be amended in order to achieve this?
    Many thanks.

per SAP standard, the posting key's have some fields suppressed. Please check the credit posting key you are using (for e.g. 11) ,T.code OB41. Look into the payment transaction section & make the bank partner field Opt.Entry.
    Hope this helps you.

  • DRQ:Credit Note not based on invoice should transfer reference number to JE

according to SAP business one system behavior, only those credit notes that based on invoices are able to transfer customer/vendor reference no. field value to reference 2 field in journal entry. I would like to propose to enable AP credit note that is not based on invoice to transfer reference number field to JE as well.

Even if it is possible, you would be better split the amount to individual credit note.  I have no idea why you need to split line in one credit note.
    Thanks,

  • Amount to credit greater than credit balance - goods return to AP Cred Note

    Hi All,
    I've got the following scenario:
We have a AP Goods Return on the system which totals £12.94 with freight charges of -£3.75. We have copied this to a AP Credit Note, but have amended the freight from -£3.75 to -£3.00(UK VAT Rate 15% applicable throughout). The total credit field now shows £13.80 and the credit balance field shows £12.94. When you try to add the document it gives an error "amount to credit greater than credit balance". I'm using 2005A PL53.
Can anyone please advise the reason behind the error and also what the correct way of handling this kind of transaction would be?
    Kind regards,
    Matt

    Hi Wesley,
I tried both methods and it doesn't resolve the issue. Spoke to SAP, they gave me a solution and workaround, the issue is a bit more complicated as what it may seem. You manually have to close the goods return, create a standalone service credit note with the appropriate GL account to reverse out the "goods clearing account" entry created by the reversal journal. The bahaviour has been changed in SBO 2007 and therefore the problem is not present in this version anymore. Thanks for your help anyway.
    Kind regards,
    Matt

  • Credit note not writing internal recon

    Hi all,
Normally when a AR CN is created (based on AR IN) there is also a Internal Reconciliation created similtaneously. I have now come accross a transaction where the the CN was based on the IN, but no Internal Reconciliation was written. Because of this the applied amount on the CN is not accurate.
    Ver. 2007 PL 46
Any ideas on how to fix it?
    Regards,
    Werner

    Hi Werner,
Was this a fully based Credit Note or partial?
Is the balance due on the credit note document equal to that of the corresponding journal entry?
    Also check the following notes:
1258628 - Credit Memo is 'open' but is fully based on Invoice
1301233 - Default value of the total field in based Credit document
1307388 - Incorrect status of Invoice after Copy To Credit Memo
If none of the notes answers let us know.
    Hope it helps,
    Jesper

  • Reference filed 2 in credit notes

    Hi Expert !
When I create a AR Invoice, with a value in the 'Customer Ref. No.' the value entered ends up in the  'Ref 2.' field of the resulting journal entry.
However, when I create a AR credit note, with a value in the 'Customer Ref. No.', the value entered does not end up anywhere in the resulting journal entry.
Is there a setup that I skipped ???  I would like to see the information in the Ref 2 field even for Credit notes....

    Hi,
The problem seems to be in your ALV grid display.
The reason must be your field catalog.
    Just check your fieldcatalog.
The value in the fieldname field of the fieldcatalog should be same as the fieldname in your internal table and should be in capital letters.
Probably you must have mistyped some field.
    Kinldy check.

  • Credit Notes on Dunning Letters

    Hi experts,
I have created dunning letters to print from the dunning wizard but I have a problem.
The credit notes (credit amounts) are grayed out in the Recommendation Report step and I can't tick / untick them. Also, the Credit Notes do not appear on the dunning letters.
Any idea what I can do please?
    Thanks,
    vankri

    Hi,
Thanks for the input, but as far as I'm concerned, MHND table contains entries (fields ZINST, ZINSS, ZSBTR, WZSBT) which reflect the most recent interest calculation, based on the interest rate provided in OB42.
So f.ex. if I have defined two interest rates for the same interest indicator, one of which is valid from 01.01.2011 while the second should be valid from 01.05.2011, after executing the dunning run with dunning date set for 01.06.2011, the MHND table will be updated with the interest calculation which is valid from 01.05.2011.
I was hoping that it would be possible to display two rates, based on the (for example) due date in the following manner:
IF the due date is prior to 01.05.2011 THEN the interest rate should be equal to A
ELSE the interest rate should be equal to B
I guess without the changes to SMARTFORM it's not possible.
    Anyway, thanks for you answer.
    Thanks and regards

  • Invoice and credit note processing

    Hello all,
I have got a query with respect to transaction MRBR (Remove Block on invoice). The process that we follow is:
    1) When AP clerk enters invoice, he enters the invoice with a 'R' block. This blocks the invoice from getting paid.
    2) Every evening there is a background job scheduled with transaction MRBR. What this job does is removes the 'R' block from the invoice if it has got a corresponding GR.
    3) This invoice then appears in the payment run and is paid off.
The problem with this process is when the credit notes are raised on account. We link the credit notes and invoices by copying the document number of invoice in the 'invoice reference' field while entering the credit note. The 'R' block also gets copied onto the credit note (if the invoice has the block). Transction MRBR runs overnight and removes the block from the invocie (if it has a corresponding GR) and the invoice becomes free for payment. However there is no parameter in the program to remove the block from the credit note as well. What eventually happens is that the invoice becomes free for payment, the credit note remains 'R' blocked and hence does not appear in the payment run to offset the invoice and the invoice gets paid off even though it had a credit note.
Is anyone aware of how to remove the 'R' block from the credit note or if there is a better process to work with invoice and credit notes.
    Thanks for all your help
    Regards
    Keyur

    Hi,
I also think that there is no need for putting a R block in the credit note at all.
The process should be like below:
    1. Invoice posted before GR - Invoice should be automatically blocked if the tolerance keys are set up properly (transaction code OMR6).  I am not sure why you have to put the R block manually.
    2. Post credit note - do not put any kind of block.  Make sure that you are referencing the credit note to the earlier posted invoice or the the relevant PO line item.
    3. MRBR matches and releases the invoice.
    4. When you run F110, it should automatically clear the invoice, credit note and make payment for the rest.

  • A/P invoice with discount copied to A/P credit note gives error.

    I am using SAP B1 2005B version.
When I try to create a A/P credit note based on an A/P invoice which has some discount amount. the system gives a message to specify the G/L account. but if I try to specify the G/L account entry field is greyed out. so we cannot enter any thing there.
    Kindly help.

    Dear Selin Kingsley
    Also Check Note 639207.
    1.    Find out the item's "Set G/L Accounts By" in the credit memo that
failed to add. (Item Master Data>Inventory tab)
If the item is managed by Warehouse, go to Administration ->Setup
->Inventory ->Warehouse->bring up each warehouse(Please make sure each
warehouse is set up)->define 'Sales Credit Account'
If it is managed by Item Group, go to Administration ->Setup ->Inventory
->Item Groups->bring up each Item Groups (Please make sure each Item
Groups is set up)->->define 'Sales Credit Account'
    2.    If the previous step still does not work, go to Administration>
    Definition> Financials>G/L Account determination>Sales tab and Inventory
    tab-> define 'Sales Credit Account'
I hope the information is helpful.

    Hi
I am trying to post credit memo related to MM invoice in transaction MIRO. I am getting error

but the field is not available for selection. The same is avaialable for input in invoice though. Not coming for credits only.
And if I put invoice reference, should not it take from the original invoice ?

I have checked field status, its not suppressed

    Hi
I have checked field status for reco account of the concerned vendor. Its optional entry for bank partner. In posting key also its optional.
And Document type for invoice and credit memo is the same one. So just wondering how it is available for input in invoice and not in credit memo.
How did you get that in credit memo as well ? in MIRO transaction ?
